Guest Reviews
- Nathan (9/5): -
- Julie (3/5): - good location there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling and obvious smell of must. The staff agreed to give me a discount and then never sent one. They started to ignore all messages as well.
- Jill (7/5): Excellent location for Mt Tamborine. Property could do with a bit of a birthday especially bathroom/ - Air con, separate dining area, coffee machine, Netflix, spacious including undercover parking (carport) Communication re door code.
- Sergio (7/5): It was enough to rest. - Cute place Parking and showers
- Gordon (1/5): Owner lied about providing a refund when we found the odour in the room too strong to stay. - Location was acceptable, but not signposted in any way we could see. We expected it to be hard to find and outdated, so this was not a disappointment. When we opened the door we were struck by a powerful musty/smoky odour, with perhaps air freshener to try and mask the smell. Despite it being a cold winter day the window was open and fan on to try and clear the room. The smell was too strong for me and a health risk for my asthmatic wife, so we left immediately. We called the owner and got a story about burn-offs, that we had not seen in the area all day. He said he would give a full refund if we went through Booking.com, so we did that and saw the request from Booking for the refund. We did not get a refund. We contacted the owner again and got another story about Booking.com delays. We got no refund and no contact from the owner.
- Guest (7/5): Comfortable lounge and a great TV. Close to all amenities. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. - We did not have breakfast supplied. A new plug for the bathroom vanity is needed, there is half a plug sitting on the windowill. The coffee sachets on shelf above the sink are out of date, The ones I opened had turned to a gooey mush. The shower stall is very compact, fortunately neither of us are overweight .
- Gail (8/5): Great location- comfy bed - Cosy & clean No shelter from rain when trying to unlock door
- Lance (8/5): -
- Shane (10/5): Birthday rnr - Relaxing atmosphere & nice lodge Small shower area
- Michael (6/5): Just one night, but the above mentioned was disappointing. Simple housekeeping not adhered to. - Great location very handy to everything.
Beautiful big tv. Excellent fridge. Carport. Instant coffee so old it had solidified in its packet. Bench top stove did not work. No pepper in grinder. Three bottles of conditioner but no shampoo. Soap holder in shower would be nice.
- sunny (1/5): Overbearingly musty with smoke and mould, made us sick. Seeking refund. - Liked the idea that it would be a nice well presented cabin as in the pictures. Has carport right near front door, and location close to town. Host didn't confirm booking and had to manually chase up, as well as for entry pin on day. On entering it was overbearingly musty with smoke and mould, and no amount of airing out helped. Smoke stained the doona and clothes we brought. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling. We left feeling sick, and questioning if the cabin even complied with local building and health regulations.
- Maggie (5/5): - I would have liked to have had a beadside lamp to read by

- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenister (7/5): Good - The instructions about entering the property could have been more clear.
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (6/5): Comfortable but noisy not value for money - The lodge was a good size for two people. I did have problem with locking the door and was able to contact the owner and he was very helpful. The kitchen was a good side, we had a covered parking spot We stayed in the forest lodge. The driveway was hard to find due to there was no sign and the location of the lodge is on a very busy road so you need to be careful slowing down to look for the place, in the dark it was almost impossible to find because there’s no street lights and the driveway is so small, they really need to put lights on the driveway it would have made it easier to find at night. The noise from the road was bad but it did stop after 7pm, there was no toiletries for the price I would have expected at least a small shampoo , conditioner and at least some shower soap. Being an older couple we both found the step up shower was not practical, hard to turn off the taps, done on the cheap
- Peter (1/5): Bad -
- Peter (1/5): Property cancelled. Booking.com and myself have chased “Bobby” for the past month. Doesn’t answer calls. Won’t respond t - Nothing.
It’s a scam.
Cancelled on the day.
No refund. Won’t answer me or booking.com.
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM Everything.
Particularly the interaction I had with the owner.
- Lee-ann (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (8/5): Very good -
- Vanessa (7/5): Good - Very cosy.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Natasha (10/5): Wholesome ❤️ - Really homely and quite, would book again in the future
- Lea (1/5): Dangerpus shower. - Location Shower was too high. Not to building code. Floor mat was slippery cheap both partner and I fell. Tiles in bath had no grip. Really dangerous.
- Robyn (9/5): Private, comfortable and enjoyable - I really liked the room, It was close to town and other attractions that I was there for. The room was clean and had everything that I needed. It was close to one of the mail roads and it was a bit noisy, but this is not a complaint. More a comment.
- Debbie (7/5): Good - Location was great - well equipped little cottage - a little dated but still cute There was a very musty smell like it had been closed up for a month which did not go away after we opened everything up. Air-con needs replacing.
- Carlien (4/5): Disappointing - The mattress was comfortable
The location was handy to shops.
The couch was pleasant The room smelt unpleasant for entry and stay.
The bed was unstable and swayed with movement. Indicates it wasn't put together properly.
The other apartment left the lights on all night, which made it difficult to sleep.
- Warren (9/5): Superb - The whole setup The inconvenience of the entryonto the property
- Ross (7/5): We found the accommodation met our needs for our stay. - Breakfast not available Bathroom vanity taps difficult to turn off.The step up into shower too steep for older adults . Finding the entry to the lodge was frustrating as I was looking for a sign to indicate the entrance .
- Alison (8/5): Very good - It met our basic needs.
very good communication by the owner. I didn't like that we couldn't stay longer and had to go home.
- Joanne (5/5): Don't arrive in the dark! - It was clean & close to Mt Tamborine village. The driveway is very hard to see on the busy road. Needs something to visably indicate the property entrance, esp in the dark! There was no working outside light, so lucky for our mobile phone torch to get us to the front door. The only outside light on the side of the building does nothing. The shower is very small & the step down out of it is dangerous. The bathroom is in need of an upgrade, but it is functional. The bed is very comfy, but the frame needs attention as it rocks. The value for money is questionable.
- Davy (6/5): Honest opinion - Loungreroom/kitchen was a lovely area
Aircon worked well
Easy access/check in No oven.
Bedroom looks very much like a poorly done home reno. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mould. Pillows weren't very good.
- Tarnyao (7/5): Cottage on the mountain - Great location, clean and fairly comfortable Tiny shower, musty odour
- John (7/5): Good -
- Carla (7/5): Standard - Comfortable and everything you need for a night away. Very thin walls and could hear the group next door laughing and talking until very late at night
- Alison (9/5): Superb - Convenient and clean. Well thought out and presented.
- Sarah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Arwyn (5/5): Passable - Good location. Enjoyed the games and comfy blankets. The property was poorly insulated and cold and there was mould in the bathroom.
- Selena (10/5): Exceptional - Great space Heater down stairs didn't work. Froze
- Hicks (4/5): Disappointing - Close to shops. Crawling insect spray was necessary. Musty smell due to aged property.
- Peta (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): Very relaxing place to stay. - Was only a 5 minute walk to the main st which was very conveient.
Nice big tv.
The split system worked well to keep the unit warm. The bathroom was a bit mouldy and smelt like it.
There was also a couple of visible spider webs.
- Jodi (7/5): Good - Size of the room. Comfy bed lounge.
Lounge could do with a ceiling fan. The very noisy water pumps.! Got no sleep.
- Peter (1/5): Probably the worst accommodation I’e - Cleanliness. The fridge was dirty and had a cockroach in it and a lot of small insects in the fridge door seals.
Cockroaches in the kitchen area and on/around the lounge. We ran out of insect spray and slept badly with a light on to deter the cockroaches from crawling around.
Shower was in an elevated position which made it difficult for my elderly travelling companion to enter and exit.
- Melinda (3/5): Disappointing. - The lounge, dining and kitchen area were pleasant and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Under-cover parking appreciated. The cement between the floor tiles in the bathroom was a greasy dark brown. Definitely not something I would walk on in bare feet!
Coffee sachets were rock hard and had obviously been in the container way past their use-by.
There was an overpowering mouldy smell throughout when we opened the door on arrival and each time we returned to the apartment. The diffuser on top of the wardrobe was empty and would never be up to the task of masking the unhealthy smell.
The apartment attracts cockroaches (several large brown ones as well as bush cockroaches were seen, including on the kitchen bench and one dead one in the fridge which we left in situ.) We also dealt with a slater near the front door and a millipede in the bathroom. The can of surface spray was almost empty so clearly this is an ongoing issue. My husband also didn’t appreciate something crawling on his face during the night either!
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Location
- Garth (7/5): Way better than a pokey hotel room. Sorting out a few refinements without a huge outlay will only end up giving this sta - Spacious with excellent facilities.
Excellent, large fridge.
Cooking utensils pots n pans great
Extra blankets and doonas
Bedroom fan works great
Relaxing shabby chic feel.
Bed was superb and so comfortable I read previous comments and noted that another had mentioned no wi fi internet password, reply was, “ internet wi fi password was on fridge “
There is still no password on fridge this visit 03/02/24.
Bathroom shower rose seized and corroded. Could not tilt the rose. A simple change over of shower rose will transform the bathroom experience to excellent.
For older guests not internet savvy … a very simple sticker on the glass door giving uninitiated guests the managers contact phone number. Then the manager can tell the guest how to open the confusing first time user of the special electronic door lock system. A small basic how to use the modern induction cook top guide … will save uninitiated users of this type of cooking medium confusion as to how it operates.
The AC unit is essential in this summer. the unit is functional enough, quite old with old, basic controls where we couldn’t get the cold down past 24 degs . Again, a simple, “ how to operate “ guide will take frustration away.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Clean comfy and private Bed was squeeky
- Cathy (10/5): Beautiful location, excellent hosts, beautiful lodge - Excellent service, very easy to contact. Excellent location and space.
- Gilli (8/5): Very good - Had everything we required. A little dark. Needs more light. Some potted greenery outside the bedroom windows would pick it up.
- Will (1/5): DO NOT BOOK THIS, HE'S A THIEF. - Nothing, the bloke's a thief and a liar. The power had been off for four days, rendering the place unusable and yet this thief took our money anyway. He whinged about loss of income (that had nothing to do with me) & he said it's up to me to sort it out with booking.com. He has a cancellation fee of the full rent and yet still told me to just cancel the booking, which if I had I would of lost my money. He made plenty of of excuses & reassurances but has now stopped all communications and still has my money.
- Muhammad (1/5): Bad - Host cancelled my booking without informing. Reached property and no one was there. Called host who blamed booking website for not informing me. Rude and unprofessional behavior by the host
- Shane (7/5): Good -
- Callum (10/5): Beautiful location, exceptional welcoming host, absolutely loved it didn't want to come home. We wi - Beautiful location, exceptional welcoming host, absolutely loved it didn't want to come home. We will definitely be back to stay again!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Centrally located so close to all the shops/restaurants on Gallery Walk. It felt nice and private despite being next to main cottage. Comfortable little spot overall!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grelck (5/5): It was okay, but very disappointed that the bed sheets weren't clean. - The property had everything that was required and the living room was clean and had lovely little touches like board games. The biggest let down was that there were marks on the bed sheets as if they were unwashed, and the dovet cover had hair all over it from previous tenants.
- Jessica (8/5): It was a wonderful short stay very comfortable, spacious and accommodating. - Loved the aesthetic and space, alot of natural lighting and comfy bed. Very quiet and to itself. Kitchen has everything one might need. Bed was extremely comfy and had an extra blanket in the cupboard. The shower pressure wasn't over the top and the driveway was steep. As much as I understand that that can't be helped, the driveway and parking space was loose gravel like and my vehicles wheels kept spinning on the way up as careful as I tried to be.
- Karen (9/5): Overnight stay - So cosy and great location.
We are glad we made the choice to stay on the mountain rather than on the coast. We did hit the afternoon traffic snarl from the coast but it cleared reasonably quick.
- Roger (5/5): Passable -
- Claire (10/5): Lovely stay and location - Rustic and cosy lodge with a modern touch in a great location for two.
Very comfortable bed
Instructions for check in well explained and host was available to call if required
- Jim (7/5): An eclectic, nicely converted fibro garrage. Could do with a few tweaks. - Comfortable bed, warm room, large net-connected TV. The neighbor told me we were the first guests. Which means the previous 9 & 10 point ratings were from mates.. The view from the backyard was beautiful. The photos were accurate, but note you are renting the converted garage, not the pretty little house. The electronic door lock needed instructions, which weren't provided. Fixed by a phone-call to the host. Things which were missing: outside light for after-dark arrival, password for the wifi (it was too late to call by the time I realized), soap in the shower (and a place to put it). There was a coffee pod machine on proud display, but no coffee pods. The road-noise is fairly high, but to be expected. The bedroom view is of.. an ugly wall. $200?
- Harsimran (9/5): Superb - Excellent location,clean apartment

- Suzie (10/5): Good location, nice and tidy and spacious. - it was spacious, clean and a super comfortable bed.
