• Stéphanie (8/5): Gîte façon chambres d'hôtels près du centre de Spa et des thermes. - Echanges clairs et rapides avec les propriétaires. Gîte avec 4 chambres individuelles comme un hôtel (propre porte à clé, petit coin salon, et sdb/wc) et espace commun pratique et spacieux. Nous avions réservé les 4 chambres donc l'espace commun était 'privatisé'. Cependant il y a encore un appartement indépendant et les clients ont aussi accès à l'espace commun (pour leur clé). La proximité avec le centre et les thermes (en voitures car les thermes se trouvent très en hauteur de la ville). Les places de parking juste devant la maison. La vaisselle n'était pas très propre. Le frigo est assez petit pour un groupe et ne dispose pas de congélateur. L'éclairage est très faible dans l'espace commun et ça résonne pas mal. Mais sinon tout était ok!

• Max (8/5): Good for a short stay while traveling, but probably not suitable for families on holiday - Good value for money, good location in town with plenty of parking in the nearby roads. The top apartment has nice views over the town and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. Some areas were quiet dirty/dusty and the light above the bed was damaged/missing. I was only told about the roadworks outside at the last moment. The drainage was slow and smelly. The OSB wood floors gave me splinters.

La description du logement est équivoque : quand on parle d'un studio avec frigo et nécessaire à café, on ne s'attend pas à ce que soit dans une cuisine commune (très propre au demeurant). Mais alors on ne parle pas de studio mais de grande chambre. Il y a largement la place pour mettre un petit frigo et une bouilloire/machine à café dans le "studio". Les matelas étaient beaucoup trop mous. Enfin, il faudrait peut-être ajouter des lampes de chevet, une à chaque lit. Par ailleurs, on aurait aimé être prévenus qu'il y avait des travaux commençant à 6h45 du matin (!) dans la rue et rendant l'accès difficile avant le dépassement de la date limite d'annulation sans frais, et pas après notre arrivée.

• Annette (9/5): We voelden ons erg thuis - Behalve een koekenpan was echt alles wat je nodig hebt aanwezig...en heel schoon. Echt super fijn. En heel handig binnenkomen met een code aan de deur. Voor ons oudjes zou de 1e etage handiger geweest zijn omdat wij best vaak beneden iets gingen pakken uit de keuken. Er is geen lift dus de stappenteller had overwerk haha

• Marine (9/5): - Tout était parfait ! L’arrivée est simple et pratique. Le logement est spacieux, décoré avec beaucoup de goût : c’est un sans-faute pour nous. Seul bémol : la connexion WIFI est très faible.

• Sascha (10/5): - Mein 2. Aufenthalt hier in Spa im Le Gite. Es waren 2 schöne Tage und ich habe mich erneut sehr wohl gefühlt. Es hat mir an nichts gefehlt. Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist bestens Ausgestattet, die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und gemütlich. Bäckerei ist auf der anderen Straßenseite (leider Montag und Dienstag geschlossen) ,Supermarkt ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und läg zum Wandern ein. Ich komme ganz bestimmt wieder.

• Bradders The Boat (6/5): Mildly disappointed - Not a bad location but Spa was not a good as other places we went to and so we were mildly disappointed with the whole stay The Open stair cases and the Lighting were slightly dangerous, the lights kept going out leaving you to negotiate the open staircase in the dark. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, allthough was available in the shared kitchen - but no coffee or tea provided.

• Sascha (10/5): Auszeit in den Ardennen - Schönes großes Appartement mit Gemeinschaftsküche und Aufenthaltsraum inmitten von Spa. Sehr ruhig gelegen und genug Parkplätze. Das Appartement war sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet was benötigt wird. Die Bäckerei auf der anderen Straßenseite ist sehr zu empfehlen. Supermarkt fußläufig erreichbar.

• Armijn (8/5): Comfortabele accommodatie centraal in Spa - De accommodatie is slechts 5 minuten lopen vanaf het centrum van Spa. De kamers waren ruim, zeer schoon en comfortabel. Voor de accommodatie zijn 3 gratis parkeerplaatsen. Op de begane grond heb je een woonkamer, keuken en ruim zitgedeelte. De self check in was duidelijk en gemakkelijk. Bij problemen zijn de eigenaren gemakkelijk te bereiken via Whatsapp (of bellen). Wij hadden (naar ons weten) de gehele accommodatie geboekt vanwege een groepsreis (4 studio’s). Echter was er op onze aankomstdag een onbekende vrouw in de woonkamer (zij had geen kamer geboekt) en de volgende dag kwam er een groep van 5 personen die de andere studio (#5) hadden geboekt. Normaal gesproken is dit geen probleem voor ons, maar omdat wij naar ons weten de gehele accommodatie hadden geboekt schrokken wij hier wel van.

• Paul (10/5): Immaculate property in very convenient location - Ideally situated 5 minutes walk from Spa town centre, 15 minutes drive to Spa Francorchamps circuit. Secure storage for bicycles. Modern and immaculate inside with big room (I stayed in studio 2). Hard to fault, although it is on what could be a busy road, although I was lucky as the road was closed for repairs so it was peaceful

Булочная находится напротив - приятно утром туда заглянуть за свежим круассаном или булочкой. На мой вкус был слишком мягкий матрас на кровати. Отсутствие перил на лестнице меня не смутило, но может быть проблемой для более пожилых людей.

• GUY (5/5): Une fois mais pas deux. - Le confort de la chambre. L'escalier est très dangereux car il n'y a pas de rampe. Les minuteries dans l'escalier sont mal réglées: on se retrouve dans le noir entre deux étages. La douche, une fois mouillée est une patinoire : à peine douché j'ai glissé et je me suis blessé en tombant. Nous n'y reviendrons pas.

• Sarah (9/5): Een ruim en gezellig appartement op een toplocatie! - Super locatie in het centrum van Spa! Een gezellig ingericht en ruim appartement. Ideaal voor 4 personen! De stenen vloer was niet echt proper en ook de glazen en kopjes in de keuken waren niet goed afgewassen, jammer genoeg. Voor de rest alles top!
• Bas (9/5): Mooi appartement met fijne keuken - Goede faciliteiten met eigen keuken bij appartement bovenin. Die was heel ruim ondanks de schuine plafonds door het dak. Maar voor de kamers zijn er beneden ook goede voorzieningen.
• kaatje (9/5): Prettig en comfortabel verblijf! - Dat je gebruik kon maken van de keuken. Verder was alles gewoon aanwezig. Super! Precies zoals op de foto's. Het was ook niet gehorig. De trap was wel een beetje een ding. Er was geen leuning. Met bagage op en neer was daardoor wel een beetje een uitdaging.

• Maikel (8/5): - Ruime accommodatie met eigen badkamer en wc op de kamer. Koelkast en waterkoker/koffiezetapparaat alleen in collectieve ruimte. Tekst op site suggereerde dat die op de eigen kamer zouden zijn. Desondanks een prima overnachtingsplek! Helaas drie parkeerplaatsen voor 5 kamers. Maar gemakkelijk dichtbij een gratis parkeerplaats gevonden. Bedden zijn goed, maar wel wat (te) zacht voor mijn smaak.

There is a bicycle storage room, entrance at the back with a different door code than the entrance to the appartement. There is a very clean and complete communal kitchen. With even a dish washer machine. You can prepare simple meals. The bed and the bathroom were very comfortable. The floor in the appartement is underlayment. The top floor is missing. Or is this a design feature I didn’t understand.
• Paul (8/5): - Stayed here for grand prix weekend. Great location, within walking distance of supermarket which was fab. Place was perfect for what we needed, it acted as a base for us between long days at the race track. The stairs not having a banister took some getting used to and I would be worried if travelling with younger kids. We all bumped our heads at least once on the roof (we are a tall family) but on the whole the accommodation was great.
• Thierry (7/5): Excellent séjour pour passer quelques jours lors d'activités au centre ou à proximité de Spa. - Appartement spacieux, très proche du centre de Spa, mais suffisamment protégé du tumulte induit lors du festival. Equipement très correct! Nous n'étions pas prévenu que le logement se trouvait au 3ème étage, sans ascenseur, et sans main courante: arrivés au début de la septantaine, ça aurait pu poser problème. Les pièces sont fort mansardées et imposent beaucoup de prudence pour les déplacements, surtout la nuit!

• Eveline (7/5): - La proximité du centre culturel pour le Festival. Le prix (c'est une formule type RB&B: boîte à code et pas de personnel). L'autonomie: la cuisine bien équipée permet de se préparer ou réchauffer les repas, c'est top! La taille du studio, simple mais bien équipé. La réactivité et la serviabilité du propriétaire qui nous a proposé (par téléphone) un ventilateur pour survivre à la canicule. Le quartier vraiment moche (je ne trouve pas d'autre mot!) et le bruit de la rue très passante (studio côté rue). Les travaux dans la rue à 7h30! Le plancher du studio en OSB de récupération (trace de peinture et de goudron), l'absence de rampe dans l'escalier, la douche très glissante, le matelas un peu mou à notre goût. Les stores qui empêchent d'ouvrir les fenêtres, du coup, on a le choix entre étouffer ou zéro intimité.

• Sietske (8/5): Ideaal voor een nacht. - Perfecte communicatie van de hosts, alles was helemaal duidelijk voor we toekwamen. Locatie was goed, dichtbij het centrum, wel duidelijk een buurt in ontwikkeling en veel doorgaand verkeer. De plek is net gerenoveerd en onze kamer was heel netjes. We vermoeden dat een vorige gast niet had afgewassen, we vonden wat vies bestek en borden in de keuken.

• Daisy (8/5): Chouette séjour à Spa - Simple et efficace, bonne literie, bon emplacement, belle douche également (nous étions dans le Studio 4). Les espaces communs sont bien organisés également. Ce n'était pas la première fois que je venais au Gîtel et j'avais apprécié mon premier séjour. Ce n'est pas la faute des propriétaires, mais il y a eu beaucoup de bruit sur la route dans la nuit (gros camions et poubelles, je pense.)

• Max Looij (7/5): Leuke plek, dicht bij centrum - Leuk opgezet, 5 appartementen , wij zaten in app 3 op 2e etage. App, was voorzien van ruime zitkamer met tv, ruime slaapkamer en keurige badkamer. Er is een gezamelijke keuken ,lounge en eetkamer op de bg voorzien van alles. Ik dacht gelezen te hebben dat elk app is voorzien van koelkast maar in app 3 stond geen koelkast. Mijn medicijnen heb ik in koeltas gedaan, met een koude fles er naast. Maar is gelukt, en was goed geregeld. Als mindervalide met kruk miste ik de trapleuning, maar is gelukt dan maar wat langzamer.
• Fabio (9/5): Un bel weekend nelle Ardenne - Appartamento spazioso vicino al centro della città, che ho raggiunto tranquillamente a piedi; ho dormito con il massimo comfort senza rumori molesti e luci fastidiose. Molto bene il bagno e la dotazione di asciugamani! Al piano terra si trova una cucina in comune ben equipaggiata, dove poter consumare i pasti (l'ho usata una volta). La comunicazione con i proprietari è stata veloce ed efficace. Migliorerei le indicazioni in cucina sulla raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti (non si capisce ad esempio dove vada l'organico) e sull'uso della lavastoviglie.

The bed bug issue destroyed all the other experiences. We arrived there and stayed in Room 4, and initially everything seemed fine. We checked in, left our luggage, and prepared to sleep after a short exploration of the town. But around midnight, we discovered bed bugs in the bed. We immediately sent a message to the emergency number provided and later contacted Booking.com's customer service. Unfortunately, since it was late at night, all they could do was send an email to the host and advise us to wait. As the hours passed, we found more bed bugs, not just in the bed, but also around the walls and near the sofa. It became unbearable. At around 3:00 AM, we packed up and left the property. We were exhausted, couldn't sleep at all, and were extremely worried about bringing the bugs home. When we returned, we had to spend hours disinfecting all our belongings. It completely ruined our short trip. The only reply we got from the host came after we were back home. They apologized and mentioned it was the fourth time they had pest control come. Honestly, that only made it worse. If the issue was ongoing, they should not have been accepting guests at all. No refund was offered and no real responsibility was taken. Just a short, insincere message. During the two weeks we followed up with customer service, the host refused to pick up any phone calls or reply to any emails regarding this issue. We’re sharing this so that others are aware. Bed bugs are a serious health and hygiene issue. We hope future travelers don’t have to go through what we did.
