Guest Reviews
- Ahmad (9/5): - Very clean and we have everything we needed. They provided us complimentary coffee/milk/snake etc
- Guest (7/5): Look somewhere else, did not meet expectations. - Location is great, it’s a good size space, lots of dining and shopping close by. Shower is SMALL, found bugs in the room so it’s not very clean, when I booked in advance I was told I could pay the room tax with a credit card, when I got there Angie only accepted cash, no exceptions and did not have change to give us after paying cash. Not a great experience.
Nichts.
- Robert (9/5): Happy Trastevere, happy stay in Rome. - Good timely communication before arriving, during check in and then as required. Apartment full of character and recommendations on where to eat were excellent. Air conditioning in all rooms was excellent especially in the peak of sweltering summer. Fridge prestocked with water, fruit bowl full, large pack of biscuits to have with tea and coffee. No issues with noise, beds very comfortable and room enough for 3 adults to have their own space. Strongly recommend. A hiccup with the washing machine not working, but this didn't ruin our stay. Staff responded quickly to this problem but technician unable to repair same day.

- Penelope (10/5): The best part of Rome to stay in - The location is amazing 🤩 lovely check in process being met at the property Nothing
- Neutens (9/5): Great place and location! - Exceptional location in Trastevere! The apartment was great…all we needed with some goodies provided to get us started including coffee, espresso, and a few treats! Check in was easy and some good local information provided. A wonderful bakery & gelato place right out the door, cafes and great restaurants right nearby, including an evening cool retro cocktail lounge. Although the property sleeps 6, we were a bit tight with everyone over 16. I would recommend it’s more comfortable with at least 1-2 kids younger / smaller.
- Neva (10/5): Excellent location - Great location, clean, great staff Need better way to dry clothes, maybe a drying rack.
- Johann (10/5): Awesome - Close to all amenities (restaurants, shops, public transportation, etc). Communication with the host is excellent.
- Crossie (10/5): Perfectly charming and everything we hoped for. - Spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The property is perfectly located. The neighbour hood is charming and quiet by comparison to the thrumming of Rome. The hosts were gracious and generous. We will definitely stay here again should we return to Rome. Thank you for an incredible stay and experience in Rome! It was perfect for our family.
- Adam (10/5): Wonderful property in a wonderful location. - Wonderful property in a wonderful location. Would have been nice to have the sofa area accommodate four people to relax. There is not communal space in the flat to relax as a family
- Deanne (10/5): Wonderful historic apartment with everything you could need for your comfort. We could have happily stayed for a month. - Beautifully kept apartment dating back to the 16th century. Plenty of space, facilities were exceptional as was the welcome. Perfect location.
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Fantastic stay for family of 3! - The location was fantastic, our host at check in was very helpful in orienting us to Rome as first time visitors, and the beds were soooo comfortable!
- Romi (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Perfect place in Rome - Great apartment in perfect location - lots of coffee and towels Nothing, it was perfect
- Sally (7/5): Good - This was a cozy little apartment in the midst of bustling Trastevere. The owners very kindly let us check in early and provided some milk and other goodies which were very helpful. The apartment was an excellent base to explore Rome and we walked everywhere. Only issue was the noise - which made it difficult to sleep.
- Daniel (8/5): Great trip - the perfect place to stay for a family trip to beautiful Rome - Location was marvellous, reception very friendly and Romina went out of her way to help us.
- Tom (8/5): Very good family base for exploring Rome. - Location, comfortable beds, welcome pack, equipment and facilities.
- Cari (10/5): When in Rome choose Happy Trastevere! - We absolutely loved this property in the vibrant Trastevere community and would highly recommend it when visiting Rome. The property was super clean, well stocked with the basics as well as much appreciated little extras (a safe, American coffee, extra fluffy towels, fine bedding, laundry detergent, bottled water, milk for coffee/cereal, breakfast cereal and snacks). Communication was excellent - prompt, friendly and informative. The host went out of their way to ensure we were happy, comfortable and appreciated.
- Angelo (8/5): Location is perfect to walk to all the major sites in Rome; tons of excellent restaurants and bars a - Romina is a gracious host.
Pop, water, fruit and assorted cookies were provided for us. Much appreciated. A little tight for four adults and two children, but we knew that.
- Christine (8/5): When in Rome, stay in Happy Trastevere... - We loved the little extras. Coffee & milk provided really helped to start the day. A complementary fruit bowl , soft drinks & slippers too!
Romina provided two excellent restaurant reccos during our stay as well as arranged a private driver on our arrival & departure. Grazie mille! The two flights of old cement stairs up to the apt. With luggage for a month, we found it challenging to manage.
Be prepared for night noise from the street below. It's a main walking area & there's a restaurant right across the lane. It might be disruptive if you're a light sleeper.
- Mcfadyen (10/5): A charming old world apartment in an attractive part of Rome, convenient for Trastevere restaurants. - The property was spacious with air con in every room, lots of hot water, all the facilities you could need, plus lots of unexpected extras!
We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady. There was a beautiful bowl of fruit, beer, coke, fruit juice, milk and cold water in the fridge. There were also snacks like biscuits and crisps as well as a variety of teas and coffees etc.
The flat was stocked with reading books and guides and was well decorated. It was August but there was very little noise from the street. It was very quiet in the bedrooms. The location was great for restaurants. It was within a 20-30 minute walk of the main attractions with a good bus service nearby. It was perfect!
- Russell (9/5): Wonderful flat! GREAT location! Very helpful and attentive host! - GREAT location! Our favorite street to stay on our 3 week family trip! Host was very helpful and attentive. The AC in the living room broke, but they immediately brought a window unit to help cool down the room. There were lots of welcome amenities-beer, water, snacks, fruit -- very nice touch! There was no AC in the 2nd bedroom and the 2nd bedroom was very small -- was big enough just for the bed. Thankfully there was a sitting area with a sofa for another place to sleep and put our luggage.
- Okela (8/5): Great location, great host and very flexible check in and check out. - Great location close to everything.(attractions and restaurants)
Traditional setting very cute.
Bonus we had snacks and drinks and fresh fruit waiting for us. No air conditioning in all the rooms only one unit out of 3 was working and we weren’t made aware of it.
- Donna (10/5): It was wonderful from the moment my family and I arrived. Our stay was unforgettable. Thank you so much. - For one, I loved how the entire space was clean and obviously well taken care of. Along with how the apartment was surrounded by good food and stores. We enjoyed our entire stay from the moment we walked through the door.
- Serrana (10/5): Wonderful stay at Happy Trastevere! - Our stay was fantastic! Upon arrival, we were met by someone to hand over the keys. To our surprise, we were welcomed with fresh fruit, cookies, cold refreshments in the fridge, and a bottle of wine. The beds were very comfortable and the location was close enough to the central area of Rome but off the beaten path in a neighborhood with a lot of character. The host and staff were very responsive and helpful with recommendations. We found many great restaurants just outside the door of the apartment. We would definitely stay here again! There was quite a bit of street noise (people talking, garbage trucks,) during the day, but it quieted down at night by 11pm. We struggled to figure out how to operate the washing machine in the bathroom. My suggestion would be to have some instructions posted next to it. (We ended up finding the instructions online.)
- Sandra (7/5): A great location in Trastevere - The location was fantastic being close to excellent restaurants and shops. We were within walking distance to all the tourist attractions. The apartment was a good size for four people, and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of linen was provided. They gave us all the basics we needed, for example, fruit, biscuits, coffee and milk, which we really appreciated. The shower was small, and it was difficult getting in and out of. The air conditioning broke down in two of the rooms, and unfortunately, it couldn't be fixed while we were staying there, and we had 38 degree days. In this instance, an electric fan should have been provided.
- Karen (9/5): Great little flat at the heart of Trastevere - Location is superb. Flat itself is lovely - perfect for four people. It feels very ‘authentic’ and really at the heart of things, and came mostly well-stocked with a few bits of food, coffee et cetera. The double bed was excellent. Taxi transport was organised efficiently. One of the air-conditioners didn’t work. The first night this wasn’t so much of an issue, but it got hotter over the next few days. The rubbish piled up over the four days we were there, and we had no idea what to do with it. But really these are minor complaints. I’d highly recommend this apartment.
- Kerri (9/5): Comfortable and great location , friendly hosts - The location is incredible
- Jonathan (10/5): We had a great time and the apartment was a perfect place to explore Rome. - Our host was very helpful and flexible to accommodate an early check in and communicated very well. There is limited train access to this neighborhood, but we knew that so that was not a surprise.
- Alice (10/5): Lovey Stay in Rome - We loved the location of the apartment. The AC units in each room worked really well. All of the beds were comfortable. The amenities from toiletries to snacks and drinks were very appreciated. We also arranged a private van from the airport and to the train station through the host, and both rides arrived on time and were spacious for our family. Our favorite aspect of the apartment was the location and neighborhood. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Rome.
- Julia (10/5): Perfecto in every way. - Location was perfect - noisy outside but quiet inside. The beds were very comfy and the ambiance of the appartement was perfect. We would definitely stay again. Nothing.
- Annakarin (8/5): We are very satisfied with our stay in the apartment. - Good location and nice that we felt welcome. Very good that there was coffe fruit and several things to drink when we arrived. The apartment was well equipped. Perhaps noice from the street
- Teodora (9/5): Cozy & clean apartment, helpful hosts - The fact that it was close to Trastevere, a very lively neighborhood, but also at a decent walkable distance from several important sightseeing places in Rome. Moreover, the amenities were also a nice touch & the host’s hospitality. We had a little issue with the button for hot water in the bathroom, but the host was very prompt and helpful and everything was fixed in no time. I think it would be easier with some stickers that have written on them “on” & “off” :)
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taylor (9/5): Superb - Well equiped apartment in a great location. Host was excellent.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vito (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elena (10/5): Quintessential accommodation for the perfect Roman holiday! Updated apartment, well-equipped, in a historical building w - The apartment’s ideal location in the historical, bohemian Trastavere neighborhood was spectacular. This cozy, quite, well-appointed apartment, situated on the first floor, was in the middle of all the action and many famous historical sites, great restaurants, and conveniences were very close by. Additionally, it was surprisingly easy to park in the neighborhood.
The apartment, which appeared to be recently updated, was well stocked with everything one would need for a comfortable stay, including extra towels, dishes, wine, glasses, and a washing machine and dishwasher. Our host Max, even went as far as supplying us with water, wine, crackers, cookies and necessary bathroom items upon our arrival.
Aesthetically the apartment was beautiful in its antique setting. The master bedroom was a good size and had lots of closet space. The second bedroom was able to accommodate two single beds. There was also a sofa in the living room that could accommodate two additional people.
As someone who has traveled substantially, I really appreciated the memory foam mattress pads, and the memory foam pillows. Beds in Europe tend to be very firm and uncomfortable, but not here! We had a very comfortable sleep,
Lastly, our host Max, was extremely communicative, informative and accommodating. Our stay at Happy Trastevere apartment was a very successful one and we will be back!! We loved everything!
- Francieli (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely apartment in good location
