- Gazzamarra (10/5): Great apartment, great location - This is a fantastic apartment with everything you could need. The air-con was an absolute Godsend with the temperatures reaching 30°! The bed was very comfortable and, although we did not cook, the fridge and washing machine were very useful. The location is excellent being within walking distance of Vatican City, local restaurants, mini-markets, and bus stops were all close by. Elisabetta is lovely and could not have been more helpful.
- Ziad (7/5): Go for it - Excellent location close to piazza san Pietro to restaurants , mini markets 10-15 mn walking
Elisabeth did her best to make us comfortable Location on a Nice clean street
- Jacqueline (10/5): FABULOUS apartment, location & host! - AMAZING location / host / apartment! My sister & I were rating as to whether we would live there, answer was a resounding yes, and we will be back! It's a short hop on the train from Rome Termini to Rome St Pietro, then a flat walk / casual stroll along the new path for 1/2 mile. St Pietro also has amazing links to Trastevere (next stop), and Ostiense (2nd stop, where the pyramid is!). You're 2 mins from the Vatican, and less than a mile from the hop on hop off for all the sightseeing you can handle. We also trialled the buses toward the sports venues, which are straight across St Peters Square too! Added to this, both Papa Rex & Goose restaurants are pretty much at the end of the road - both fabulous places for an evening out. Everything was amazing! Thank you Elisabetta!
- Frances (8/5): Vatican City gem - Very helpful owner Shower heat was variable but not an issue
- Mathew (10/5): Good value and well situated apartment in Rome. - This is a nice typical old Roman apartment - tiled floors and high ceilings. All of the facilities were there - washing machine, iron, clothes horse etc. Good cooking facilities, too. It was also a very easy walk to the Vatican and the bus - 46 - got us into the centre of Rome. It’s also an easy journey from the airport by rail. Nothing.
- Janice (9/5): Great 5 days stay at Il Clivo - Il Clivo is the ideal place for a couple when spending a few days in Rome. The place is spacious, quite, nicely decorated with vintage furniture and has an authentic feeling. The owner, Elisabetta, was very kind and collected us from the metrostation upon arrival. She kept in touch with us during our 5-days stay. Upon arrival we found a bottle of Spumante, bottled water, fresh fruit and there was coffee/tea. The bed was very comfortable. Vatican is around the corner and most highlights are walking distance. We felt very safe walking home in the evenings. I can definitely recommend Il Clivo to other travellers.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - The flat was perfect for my stay in Rome. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the Vatican, with several excellent restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The flat was spacious and light, with a very comfortable bed and a separate living room to work from. I've stayed in Rome several times and this was the best accommodation I've stayed in. I certainly intend to return here on my next visit.
- K (10/5): Exceptional - Elisabetta has a wonderful apartment. Some fruit and a bottle of Prosecco met us when we arrived. She was easy to communicate with and we wish we could have stayed longer.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Elisabetta is an amazing host!
- Zheni (10/5): Exceptional - This was our second time in Rome. When we come again, we will stay here. Very good location, quiet neighbourhood. 5min walk to Vatican.
- Robyn (9/5): Terrific - Lovely, kind, responsive and informative host. Terrific location .. close to all the main spots to visit and also great for those who like walking to discover the back untouristy spots
- Debra (10/5): Perfect location, wonderful hostess, beautiful apartment. - I had the most amazing stay in Rome. Much of that I contribute to the beautiful, quiet, clean, and convenient accommodation that I booked. The place is gorgeous, and total walking distance to the Vatican area, and I even walked a lot further than that. Also convenient if you’re grabbing a tour or two and have to meet the group. My hostess was the absolute best and went above and beyond, even including a little Prosecco and crackers upon my arrival. That was the best! Bonus for me was the washing machine so I could get organized again! There are huge windows that bring all of the sunshine in all day long. I even did some cooking because of the well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed that very much. All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough. All wonderful!
- Jurga (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay and I would definitely recommend it for staying in Rome! - The apartment is nice, cozy, stylish, very clean (on the third floor). 2 separate rooms, one has convertible sofa, so it is convenient to sleep if you are 3 or 4 people. Quiet location, but very close to Vatican and 20 min by foot from the center of Rome. Hostess met us upon arrival outside and led us to the apartment, so we didn't have to search ourselves. Elisabeth also answered all our questions regarding supermarket and cafes - they are close by. Apartment has also all basic supplies of coffee, tea, olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper etc. There was even water in the fridge and pasta available. Bed was very comfortable.

- Patrick (10/5): A perfect place to stay while visiting Rome. - We love everything about this apartment, Il Clivo. It dates from the 1920s, with high ceilings, long windows, tiled floors, wonderful artwork and delightful furniture. It is not just an apartment but a home and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, even a long stay. Elisabetta the hostess, is excellent, she messaged us before we arrived and met us on arrival. Elisabetta is so welcoming and goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable, with plenty of provisions including prosecco and water in the fridge!
It is very straightforward to get to the apartment from Fiumicino Airport to Roma San Pietro railway station, a 15 minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is very well located just below the walls of the Vatican, near bus stops and a short walk to the Tiber and across into Rome. Elisabetta gave us a list of local services which were close by on Via Aurelia, an excellent deli, with a bakery next door, a couple of restaurants, we ate delicious traditional Roma dishes. Rome is a fantastic city to visit, there is so much to see and do, the people are friendly, the food is delicious and Il Clivo is the perfect place to stay for your visit.

You can tell the place was not built only to be rented. It has charm and history and it is very tastefully decorated. The place was neat and spotless with a fully equipped, easy to use kitchen. Plenty of daylight throughout the apartment, two air conditioning units and a small lobby that leads to the bedroom and the living room, each with their own doors offering more privacy if 4 people are staying. Comfortable size shower, big mirror and washing machine in the bathroom. Nice and quiet neigbourhood guarantees a good night sleep after a long day of discovering one of our favourite cities in the world! Several restaurants and a bus stop 5 min away. With a bit of luck both free of charge and low-cost parking are available in the street. The location was perfect if you want to visit the Vatican and the city center is an easy beautiful 30 min walk. One of the highlights is definetly the owner, Elisabetta! You can feel her personal touch throughout the appartment as many amenities waited for us upon arrival. Snacks and welcome drink, coffee, flowers... She was very welcoming from the start and continued to be forthcoming and of great help throughout our fantastic stay ! I would recommend it ! I would book it again !
