Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (10/5): More Than a Stay — Genuine Care at Le Widor - We had a wonderful stay at Le Widor in Quebec City. The location was excellent — close to so many great restaurants within walking distance and conveniently near the subway, making it easy to explore the city.
What truly made our stay exceptional was Sophie. We experienced a medical emergency that required us to extend our stay beyond our original reservation, and Sophie could not have been more gracious or helpful. She made a very stressful situation feel smooth and manageable, even taking the time to help translate medical bills from French to English for us.
The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious with plenty of hot water, and we really appreciated having access to the kitchen for heating food and making tea.
We are deeply grateful for the kindness and care we received and would absolutely stay here again.

- Lisa (9/5): Fabulous! - Loved this place and will stay again when in Quebec next! Sophie is amazing. Location is fabulous. It's very cute and comfortable. The stairs are a little rough bringing up the bags. My husband had to help another guest who found it especially challenging.
- Karin (10/5): -
- Gail (10/5): We had a delightful stay. - Sophie was an absolutely charming host. She went out of her way to make sure all of our needs were met. The stairs were a little difficult to negotiate with luggage but the accommodation was great.
- Karen Powers (10/5): - The accommodation was very well appointed, comfortable and clean. Sophie was a wonderful host, and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious and it was just a short walk into Old Town Quebec. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
RAS
- Robert (10/5): Top spot and owner - great place to stay. - Sophie, brilliant owner and hostess. Her warmth exudes the minute you meet her and carried on right throughout our stay with a genuine heart. Her local knowledge guided us to get the most out of our short stay. A short walk to the old town.
The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The ensuite was very large. The triple glazing made the room very quiet . The common & kitchen area was very spacious. The shared cooking facilities were well equiped and we felt very comfortable using it for our evening meal and could have done the same for breakfast; however, we opted for breakfast to be provided and it was very plentiful. Requested car parking worked a treat and was very convenient given street is very limited and highly regulated.
- Paul (10/5): We would stay there again. - Great host. Nice breakfast. Very clean and nice accommodations.
- Maria Lucia (10/5): Great location and wonderful hostess. - Sophie the hostess is great - friendly and helpful! The location for us was excellent - only 20mins walk to the old town and Chateau Frontenac with the ability to walk along the St Lawrence River or along the road. Within a 2mins walk is Rue Cartier with cafes and out door seating restaurants + supermarket-with a lovely vibe. You have the use of the kitchen if you want it and there is a lovely balcony where you can sit and have a drink or coffee. We paid extra for the parking ($45 for 3 nights) and it was with it as we parked in the garage - on street parking can be challenging. Definitely recommend Le Widor. There was nothing we didn’t like
- Belinda (10/5): An absolutely delightful place to stay in every way. Comfortable, stylish and in a great location. With wonderful staff - This is a charming property, beautifully presented with every home comfort you could imagine also supplied. We loved the easy walk to Avenue Cartier and the huge park the Plains Abraham. Sophie is incredible, she simply can’t do enough for you and she’s so genuinely friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back.
- liz (9/5): Location was excellent. Sophie our host was amazing. - We did not purchase the breakfast option. The air conditioner in our room was quite loud.
- Dulce (10/5): Lovely stay ! - The place was spotless and Sophie was incredibly helpful and kind !
- Henry (10/5): A gem of a place in a gem of a city. - Old house well-maintained and beautifully decorated, walking distance to everywhere, gracious and helpful hostess. Breakfast not included.

- Stefania (10/5): Il mio posto a Québec City, come a casa - L’accoglienza della signora Sophie, gentile e attenta Nulla
- Julie (10/5): Parfait !
- Trevor (10/5): A premium stay in Quebec City. - Everything you could rate at Le Widor is excellent. Sophie is the best host, the B&B is lovely and the location is excellent, not too far from the old town, but not too close that it is busy. I could not recommend more highly. There is nothing to say here. everything was great.
- thapar (10/5): - Breakfast was great location was great and Sophie was amazing. Everything was lovely
- Jonathan (10/5): would definitely return - great location, clean & comfortable room, very friendly and pleasant host, use of the kitchen and terrace a bonus no complaints
- Grahame (10/5): Very enjoyable and Sophie an excellent host - Excellent position just 20 mins walk from walled city with far too many tourists Cosy feel with antique features
- Rebecca (10/5): A perfect B&B for a stay in Quebec - Nice location. Surprisingly quiet despite being in a busy area. Sophie is a lovely host. Nothing at all, would happily stay again.
- Alan (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent location and an easy walk to the old town. The street x 1 along from the property is lined with very nice restuartants.
A lovely property which is spotlessly clean.
Excellent breakfast and her cake for later is a treat.
Allowed us to park in her garage which was helpful as some parking restrictions on the street. There are also x 2 carparks beside the property.
Sophie is a delightful host and we would recommend this property. Nil
- Julie (10/5): This was a wonderful bed and breakfast during our two days in Quebec City.Sophiethe hostess is amazing and very attentiv - Loved everything about our stay
- Henry (10/5): Lovely and welcoming B&B in a nice area - Great location just outside the centre. Pretty quiet but near to a vibrant area full of restaurants, cafes and shops, plus the main museum and park. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. There is a communal kitchen that can be used if you want to prepare food yourself.
The proprietor Sophie is a wonderful host - and provides delicious breakfasts at a reasonable cost. Nothing!
- Tabby (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Le Widor - Beautiful spacious room in an ideal location. Sophie was the most wonderful kind host!!! nothing
- Majed (9/5): Superb -
- Marshall (10/5): Fabulous! So much more personal than a chain hotel. - Sophie was amazing! She exceeded every expectation! Excellent food, very gracious and hospitable!
- Go (10/5): Hope to visit again! - Fantastic host! Incredible service and homemade breakfast, to boot! The location was fantastic, also and offered walking distance to Old Quebec City along with a local neighborhood section of restaurants and shops. So good for the price. Nothing for this trip. We enjoyed the weather for the weekend and the sights and location. We would definitely visit the area again and would love to stay at this same B&B.
- Alexandra (10/5): Phenomenal service, with a friendly smile. - Sophie was an exceptional hostess, helping us acclimate to the area, and making great suggestions . Breakfast was a five course, home cooked meal, served in a modern, sun lit room.
- Ron (10/5): Quebec City Hidden Gem! - Everything thing about our stay at Le Widor was perfect. Superb room, breakfast and location. Host, Sophie, was the most friendly ever and provided great consultation on where to go sight seeing and dining! The location was also great! We did not like having to leave so soon. We spent two great days and should have planned for longer stay! Such a beautiful city!
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Highly recommend staying at this BnB - Sophie was very accommodating, sweet, very likable on sight owner. Robert makes an outstanding breakfast and a joy to share stories with. The building and landscape are beautiful. All outstanding

The accommodation is spotless, the kitchen available to all guests which is nice. Her breakfasts are worthy of 5 stars.

Parking is available in the street out front or owners garage.
Sophie - the owner is so helpful in every way possible.
The location is an easy walk to old Quebec, and 3 minutes to Rue de Cartier with excellent restaurants and general shopping.
We were concerned about stairs to bedrooms and kitchen, but the owner took care of our baggage, so it wasn’t an issue. Nothing
- Kat (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect for attending Carnaval and the Inn is beautiful and homey. Sophie is an attentive and kind host. Can't think of a thing to change.

Sophie gave us an introduction to Quebec City on our arrive.
- Angela (10/5): Do not hesitate if you are thinking of staying in Quebec. Sophie, the owner was extremely helpful and friendly. I would - The property is in an excellent location …quiet but nice little shops around the corner. Great transport if needed (I am awaiting knee surgery) Absolutely nothing!
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything! We felt very well taken care of, whether it was the delicious breakfasts, accommodating host, or just enjoying the wonderful property. Le Widor exceeded our expectations and if we find ourselves in Quebec City again, we'll absolutely stay here. Nothing, we were very happy.
- Diane (10/5): Wonderful! - We loved our stay with Sophie. She’s a wonderful host. The room was beautiful with an extra large bathroom. The location couldn’t have been better. Close to rue Cartier for dinners at night and cafes in the morning. Close to the Musée de beaux arts, and the Plains of Abraham. Easy walking distance to the main sites in the old city. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
- Sabrina (10/5): Will be back! - Sophie was an amazing host. We loved the location and proximity to great restaurants and shops!
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about our stay here! Sophie is an amazing hostess and chef... She was absolutely delightful to chat with every day and we couldn't have had a better time.... Looking forward to returning one day for sure!
- A (10/5): I absolutely loved my stay at Le Widor. Sophie was caring and accomodating making my stay a pleasure - I loved how clean and well presented the property was. Nothing.
- Bruno (10/5): Perfect holiday stay - we were sad to leave! - This place was such a find. we felt totally at home - there was a nice clean kitchen (incl dishwasher!), with outside terrace. The location was perfect - accessible to old Quebec but also to a nice restaurant and shopping street used by the locals. Sophie is an incredibly hospitable host, and prepares a super breakfast (aided by Robert's quiches we gather!!). It was quiet in the night (our room faced a side-street). The room is spacious enough, with an excellent bathroom. There is a laundry facility which was great. The room was cool enough despite hot temperatures outside. Well, nothing we can think of!!
- Alex (10/5): Sophie went out of her way to spoil us during our 3 night stay. Beautifully appointed room and bathroom, lovely full kit - Perfectly located on the outskirts of Old Quebec and next to the Plains of Abraham. Very walkable to many restaurants, shops, and several markets. It’s a wonderful inn run by a wonderful host. No complaints!
- Tony (10/5): Delighted -
- John (10/5): An experience to remember! it is truly romance, flavor, and charm! John & Ellen Hanover, Illinois - The location couldn't have been better to be near history, food & drink! The front porch was perfect to people watch and enjoy the porch swing. The setting was close to local markets, sidewalk cafe's, and emtertainment. We could eat inside or out, You can tell our host "Sophie" works so very hard to make all welcome and comfortable.
- James (9/5): Our stay was wonderful and we would highly recommend this to others who are going to Quebec city. - The breakfast was wonderful. Sophie was a super hostess. The location was great. The room was very large and spacious. One suggestion would be to put a small Nespresso or coffee maker in the room. I am an early riser and like to have coffee early.
- Rochelle (10/5): This was a wonderful b & b, with a great location, comfy king bed, an - The breakfast, which did cost 15$Cn extra per person, was lovely, juice and coffee or tea, yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, and homemade quiche or blueberry-maple crepes. Well worth it Nothing! For an additional $15 Cn a day we were able to park our car in Sophie’s garage, (prior arrangement with Sophie)and with overnight temps solidly below zero and a 24 hour snowfall it was well worth it! Street parking is limited and parking garages 5 to 10 dollars more per day. We would go back in a heartbeat!
- Peter (9/5): Convenient location and great host - Good location, we can walk to the Old Port in 20 minutes. Only 5-minute walk to a street with a large selection of restaurants. Sophie, the owner, let us park our car in her garage for $15 a day, so we left our car there and walked most of the sites. We were hesitant about the $15 per person breakfast, but it turned out to be a good deal. We ate a delicious and hardy breakfast, so we just have a snack for lunch then have an early dinner. Lunch in Quebec is not cheap.
Sophie is a great host and, her breakfast chef, Robert, is talented friendly.
We will definately stay there again when we go to Quebec.
- John (10/5): Amazed at the locality of the property to downtown & with wonderful access to bars, restaurants & food outlets i - Excellent location, extremely clean & spacious property. Fabulous host who was there at all times to guide & support. All good no issues
- Janet (10/5): Amazing, amazing amazing . - We loved everything about Le Widor. Sophie was great, nothing was too much trouble. The location is wonderful, you can walk in to the old town over the Plains of Abraham which is a beautiful walk.
We would highly recommend staying here. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Ludmila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricardo (9/5): Nice rooms in a perfect location to explore Quebec City - Nice and comfortable room, with a large bathroom and great shower. Location was great, close to a nice park, and to rue Cartier, with its many shops and restaurants, and also within walking distance from Old Quebec City. Our host was very nice and helpful. Our room faced the avenue, so there was some traffic noise most of the day - although it was not so noisy during the evening.
- Stijn (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely host that informed us about Quebec, paired with suggestions what we should see.
Great, spacious and clean room and delicious breakfast. Lovely patio.
Near everything; groceries street and Old Quebec!
Just an all-around lovely visit. Would definitely recommend! Nothing
- Harel (10/5): The creme the la creme of quebeq sity - Sophie is a very friendly and attentive host. She had many useful suggestions and we enjoyed our talks very much. The room was super clean and comfortable, and the free guest kichen was lovely.
We highly recomend this bed and breakfast!
- Delina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - It looks even better in reality than in the photos. Lovely host. Spacious shared kitchen.
- Oriana (10/5): I would go back in a second! - Sophie has been a fantastic land lord, friendly and warning. The rooms are perfectly locate close to the city center, are nice and very clean. We did not take the breakfast for personal reason but the cakes she was preparing looked appealing!
- Nathan (10/5): Great place to stay in Quebec - Super location in the suburbs next to a park and a local walking street with restaurants and shops. Rooms and host and facilities are fantastic with a large kitchen and washing facilities the guests can use. You can walk into the town centre or bus. Nothing really was the best accommodation of our 2 week trip.
- Robert (10/5): A place to come back to again and again - Perfect location near Cartier groceries, restaurants, etc. but still close enough to the old city (nice walk in on Grande Allée). Also right on the no. 11 bus route (very easy to use with the RTC app). Very comfortable rooms, very well equipped shared kitchen, and excellent [optional] breakfast. Sophie is a perfect hostess - seemed like we'd known her for years!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - The hostess Sophie was very friendly, and extremely helpful. We felt just like coming home.
- Stephanie (10/5): Our host Sophie was fabulous! She was always available to make our stay at Le Widor memorable. She gave great suggestio - We loved EVERYTHING about Le Widor! I was sad to leave! Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed with everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and comfortable! The bed was so comfortable; made so by the amazing mattress and luxurious bedding. There isn’t anything!
