• Madison (9/5): Amazingly clean and lovely short stay - Was super modern and clean! The bathroom was the cleanest/nicest/newest we’ve seen in Vietnam. Bed was super comfortable and ac was great. Not as much within walking distance but much closer to the airport!

• Nikki (10/5): - It’s in a super quiet alley, but close to the main road and the airport. We were able to leave our backpacks here for our little getaway to Phu Quoc, which was really nice and convenient. We enjoyed our stay very much, and liked that there was a very friendly cat in the house too

• Alexia (10/5): Le meilleur emplacement pour se mette dans la peau d’un habitant! - Le logement est situé dans un super quartier, plus calme que dans l’hyper-centre mais très local, avec des petites ruelles et des petites places au sein desquelles on observe la vraie vie des habitants! Café et petit déjeuner typique en bas de la rue! La chambre est meublée avec beaucoup de goût, le matelas est confortable (pas trop dur!), la salle de bain est en excellent état, l’eau est chaude. Il y a de nombreuses prises, même au chevet du lit, et le ventilateur et la climatisation fonctionnent parfaitement. Ils ont gentiment accepté de garder nos sacs pour qu’on puisse se balader avant notre train de nuit. Un grand merci à notre hôte, nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps!

• Thornton (10/5): Would 100% recommend staying here! - Would 100% recommend staying here! It was really clean, and everything in the room seems relatively new. The bed was one of the comfiest we’ve stayed in while travelling! Great value for money!
• Françoise (10/5): Simple, comfy, good value, cosy - I love this place. It is simple but cosy with natural furniture, warm lighting, wooden doors and blind, decorative sink, very good shower. It is relatively quiet with a comfortable bed. I so wish i would have spent more time there. The owner is very friendly and helpful, speaks good english and Soy the cat is a beauty.

We felt so at home here and had a lovely stay :)

A few things to keep in mind for longer stays: although it’s clearly mentioned in the listing, the lack of a washing machine can become a bit inconvenient over time. Also, the room could benefit from a refresh, the mattress is getting worn out and a replacement would really improve comfort.

• Yvonne (7/5): Convenient and value for money. - I liked that the room was spacious and all the basic amenities provided including a hair dryer, iron and ample space to hang my clothes. It was at a good location, around 10 mins walk to eateries and spas. I also appreciated that drinking water was provided (I can refill my own bottle). The stairs were narrow and dark at night, I had to turn on my phone's flashlight to get to my room. It would have been nice if the owner turned the lights on when the surroundings get dark. The owner's dog does bark occasionally at night, but the area is otherwise rather quiet and peaceful.

• Nam (10/5): An excellent stay - This was my second stay at Mao Home, and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The host was warm and welcoming. The room was clean and comfy. Will definitely come back to try the host's coffee at his newly opened cafe nearby. I got the same room this time, but noticed that the TV inside the room got removed. Didn't mind it much, though.
• Fionán (10/5): Great place to stay to enjoy Ho Chi Minh - We had a brilliant stay at Mao Home. The property is in a great location, the staff are very friendly and the room was spacious, clean and the bed was really comfortable. I would stay again and recommend Mao Home!
• Metta (9/5): Spacious, clean and affordable - Very spacious for very affordable price. It's very close to La Vela Saigon, the busy junction & quite strategic. I can walk to Pasteur where they have Katinat and Pho Hoa. You can also walk to Tan Dinh Church. The bathroom is clean, all amenities were provided including a hairdryer. The toilet comes with water spray/bidet. The room lighting and ventilation on bathroom also great. My room located at 4th floor, the stairs are narrow & quiet steep. Luckily I only bring 1 cabin baggage. If you're traveling with children or bring huge suitcase, it may not suit you. The water pressure of the overhead/rain shower also quite weak. While the shower head got some leak. This place located inside small alley, so if you use Grab or taxi, you need to drop or get in from the main road then walk a little bit. If you're Moslem or afraid of dog, be aware because the house have a pet dog that stays at the entrance.

Felt right at home and the two brothers who run the place are so kind and friendly! Not to mention the wonderful sweet dog Hasso ❤️ I wanted to rebook, but unfortunately it was already booked out. If you have the chance to reserve this place - don’t think twice! It’s lovely 😊 Nothing ☺️

Lots of vegetarian food options around. I was sick during my stay and could recover well during my time. Cute and playful dog :). Not a major issue but while the staff was very friendly there was a language barrier so asking the owners questions via WhatsApp was a better option.

• Brkić (10/5): Go for it! - Ours best stay in two weeks of Vietnam. Tom and his brother are great guys. Even the dog at the entry is always friendly and waits for you happy every time. Place is clean, cozy and quite at night. They also make good coffee at the lobby. After first three days at HCMC we went further and left our extra luggage here. No problem with that so we booked extra two nights on the way back. So it was our safe base and it felt good to come back. Definitely a recomendation!

Host was extremely helpful with some stressful baggage loss issues on my flight to HCM. I would definitely stay here again. Good to get a little out of the busy district 1.

• Federica (8/5): Very good - I really like the position of it, there's many restaurants and places to eat delicious food and district 1 with all its main attraction is only 10 minutes by car and maybe a 20 minutes walk ish. The room is ok for the prize and I liked the fact that you can get free drink water refill. The room was clean and minimalist and the housekeeper was very welcoming We stayed for 5 nights so we would have liked for all this time to be able to either have our room cleaned or having some cleaning tools inside the room to be able to do it ourselves. It would be nice to have something to hang our clothes in the room. But the main and probably only main thing that king bothered me was not be able to open the window to get some real air. The rest was OK
• Jun (10/5): Great! - Mao Home is very close to the airport and the city center, about 15 minutes by bus or taxi, yet there are many places nearby that give you a local feel.　Restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and laundry shops are all within walking distance. The hosts, Mr.Tom and Mr.Toan, and their dog, will warmly welcome you. 　Mr.Tom speaks English well and Mr.Toan speaks Japanese well.　Mr. Toan lives in the hotel as a housekeeper and is always happy to help you.　 You can create fond memories by having coffee with the locals at Mr. Toan's cafe in the square near the hotel in the morning.　The homemade yogurt is also delicious, so be sure to buy some and try it ! Nothig！　They are all fun memories.

It was a little bit difficult to locate when I first arrived so perhaps pictures to describe how to find it would be very helpful!

It's sooo clean, spacious, relaxing, and pretty! I wished we stayed here rather than the ones in District 1. It's quiet here and the wifi connection is good. It may be difficult to find this place but it's worth every penny. The host is responsive and welcoming. The bathroom, clean, design nicely and has great water pressure. There are toiletries and the shower works. The air conditioning unit works great too. The floor, clean clean clean. I admired the big window with the blinds. We were also lucky to be able to check-in early as permitted by the host :) None

• Roman (10/5): Fantastic value for the money. Great location. - Great value for the money! The room was comfortable, with good AC and decent internet. Located in a charming side alley courtyard with several local street food places, coffee shops, and friendly and helpful neighbors. Tom and Toan who run the home stay are fantastic host, very helpful and friendly. The area has many shops and street food places, and is a short Grab ride away from anywhere else you need to go. There is a 24 hr minimart around the corner, and a laundry business nearby that will take care of your clothes. Highly reccomend.

• Nam (9/5): A comfortable stay - Mao Home was relatively easy to find despite being in a small alley on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street. The room was spacious and had almost everything I needed. The hosts were very friendly, and I genuinely enjoyed being greeted by their lovely dog whenever I came back. Though I didn't mind it much, the entrance was a bit messy at times. Also, it would have been nice had there been a fridge inside the room.
