• Myriam (8/5): A lovely place to stay at, with a kind host! - Super close to Abu Simbel Temple (15 minutes walk). Wael was welcoming, very nice and helpful. He offered to take us on a boat around the temple but the whether didn't allow. The food was delicious and generous. Wael made sure we always had everything we wanted or needed. He's a great host! The Guesthouse is working on their rooftop patio, not finish but enough to enjoy the view, the sunset and all the birds. Not much to do around in that area other than Abu Simbel temple, but if you want to stay the night to see the Light and Sound on the temple, it's a beautiful and welcoming please to stay. Not much to do around other than temple (but unrelated to the guesthouse). It will be the same no matter which place you choose to stay the night.

• Félix (10/5): - Notre séjour Same Stars Guest House a été dans nos favoris de notre voyage en Égypte. Super confortable et propre, a une distance d'environ 15 minutes du temple! Nous avons aussi été en mesure de profiter d'un tour de bateau jusqu'au temple d'Abu Simbel et notre Hôte avait aussi prit en charge de nous réserver deux billets pour le spectacle de son et lumière! :)

• Rustom (2/5): Terrible Experience and very poor value particularly for its high price - Pretty much only the location and the room was clean Terrible washroom, one of those open washrooms where when you shower, the entire washroom becomes wet and non-usable until the water eventually dries. For such an expensive hotel, absurdly poor small washroom. Service poor, I specifically asked for breakfast at a certain time they agreed and then still disturbed me 30 minutes earlier, basically they don't listen to what the customer wants. Another terrible thing is that they arrange transfers from Aswan and this is also very expensive and poor value. The driver does not obey instructions, keeps stopping for his own reasons, without permission, and seems more concerned with his own needs and comfort than the guest he's transporting even at such a high price (vehicle was good, but that's it).

The owner was exceptionally friendly and hospitable, even offering to escort me to the temple for the Sun Festival when noticing I was traveling alone. Attention on vous demande 5% du prix de la réservation si vous payez par CB ce qui n'est pas mentionné sur la réservation.Vu avec Booking :ne payez pas c'est illégal contractuellement . Even if the number of breakfast items is limited, I would prefer it to be served in a buffet style so that we can eat freely.

El desayuno malo y frío. El personal no habla inglés. Y rara vez vez a alguien. Muy caro para lo que ofrece. Me alojé en Luxor en un hotel mucho mejor con pileta por mucho menos.

Facilities were clean, host was very hospitable. Location was spot on. Would recommend to anyone traveling to visit Abu Simbel.

• Ricki (1/5): Very frustrating I do hate it when they treat guests like idiots! - Position Great WiFi They advertise on Booking.com 1 extra large double bed in a queen room overlooking a garden. This is just a lie , they have NO double beds in the hotel. We booked a taxi to get to Aswan paid them at the hotel, and they did not book one . Took forever to get hold of someone in the end we gat a taxi. But don’t trust what they say!!
• Deborah (10/5): Excellent location and value. Super nice people - Super convenient location. We easily walked to Abu Simbel Temples. The room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Toiletries provided. Young man that runs the hotel very friendly and helpful. He knew someone with a boat that took us out on Lake Nasser to watch the sunrise at the temple. Then dropped us at the airport for the early flight out.

• Chris (8/5): Clean quiet place to stay near the temples. - This new hotel is well situated in Abu Simbel within walking distance from the temples. Very friendly and helpful and the food was good (they prepare supper on request). There are still some unfinished details like the lack of stair rail but the rooms were spacious and very clean. They also organised a car to take us from Aswan and back and that was very convenient. The driver also took us to the temple. He was very friendly and helpful. We paid for a sunset boat trip through the hotel. We had the whole boat to ourselves and saw the temples from the lake as the sun was going down. However, unlike other boat trips we did, there was no offer of juice or tea, and the boat actually docked before sunset. It was expensive for what we got.
• Joanne (7/5): Pleasant hotel and a great driver. - Lovely facade. Services offered included excellent driver who took us to temples, sound and light show. Building is quite old and lots of building materials nearby. We paid the hotel for 2 tickets to the sound and light show to avoid having to queue. Later when the young man at the hotel gave us the tickets he said I had only paid for one. Fortunately I paid by credit card and had evidence of what I had paid. I felt uncomfortable at the hotel after that. If you do pay for anything cash make sure you get a receipt.
• Don (10/5): Great hospitality - Sama Stars Hotel seems to be a reasonably new hotel and the owner/manager, Weal, put a lot of energy into making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast was more than I could eat and the dinners (extra cost) were very good also. The rooms are clean and tidy but most important for me, the beds was very comfortable (not hard) and the pillows and bed linen are good quality. The shower provides plenty of hot water for my longer than average showers. People who know how noisy Cairo is, will be surprised by how quiet it is around Sama Stars. The 3 night stay gave me time to visit the Abu Simbel Temples, both during the day and in the evening for the Sound an Light Show. At my request, the hotel arranged a 4x4 trip to to see the 3 Amada site temples and the 3 Wadi Sabua temples. Sometimes you have a special moment on holiday that you cherish forever. For me, the Amada-Wadi Sabua trip is one of those. I am very grateful to Weal for organising it. I have no complaints. Nil. Nada. Zilch.
• Clément (10/5): A memorable stay in Abu Simbel - The owner was absolutely adorable, and he took us across the lake to eat fresh fish cooked on the fire with his funny friends. We had an amazing time in Abu Simbel thanks to them. The hotel was also nice and very close to the temples (10min by foot). A bit expensive wrt the rest of Egypt.

• Miguel (9/5): Good choice in Aswan - (1) Conveniently located (at a walking distance from everywhere). (2) Nice breakfast. (3) Very nice manager (we were upgraded to a much bigger room for free). There was no upper sheet on the bed. Therefore, we had to cover ourselves directly with the blanket, with nothing in between.
• Muhammad (10/5): Awesome Hospitable Hotel in Abu Simbel - Apartment styled hotel in family-like building with cosy rooms and tremendous hospitality by the host owner Mr Mohammad & the hotel staff. Ir is near to Abu Simbel temple (10-15 minutes leisure walk) or 3 to 5 mins drive. Breakfast is served with kind homely atmosphere. The hotel is located 1.1km nearby the Abu Simbel temple entrance ticket area (15mins casual walk) and hosted by the most friendliest, honest & hospitable down to earth owner in Egypt. We booked the Economy Double Room and it was really spacious similar to a master bedroom complete with private bathroom toilet, waldrobe cupboard, table and fridge. The beds and mattresses are really comfortable and thick and the 2 pillows provided per person is equally fluffy thick and soothing for an ergonomical good night's rest. We love staying in Sama Stars Hotel in Abu Simbel and the owner also offered guests an option to enjoy a sunset boat ride for USD$15 per person in Lake Nasser to experience a kaleidoscopic boat ride overlooking the lake and the majestic stone rock mountains nearby the temple. Breakfast is also provided complimentary in the room that we booked from bookingcom and the host really served a hearty breakfast of pastries, yogurt, cheese, bread, olives, scramble eggs, cucumbers and tomatoes mediterranean egypt style. Really recommend to stay here if you are at Abu Simbel as for only USD$60+ (bookingcom rate), we had a fulfilling stay and experience and comfort in Abu Simbel while visiting the famous UNESCO Abu Simbel Temple We have nothing to complain as we love the simple cosy setting and kindness of the hotel. But some people who are sensitive might dislike the sewerage smell in the toilet which is common in most village hotels in Egypt. Everything is good with us👍👍👍

• Dora (8/5): Lovely family run place - 15 min walk from the Abu Simbel temples, spacious room and renovated bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff. They also offer tours but unfortunately we didn’t have time to join. Booking says cash or card payments, but do have some cash ready in case the machine doesn’t work. Would return!
• Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms are clean and very spacious, bed comfortable and linen is clean. They were still finishing building some outdoor chilling area which looks like is going to be really nice. The staff is super kind and helpful, they went to get our Light and Sound tickets for us by car so we don’t have to pay the internet fee. Abu Simbel is small and you can easily walk anywhere, even the temple is just 20min walk from the hotel. 5-10min to restaurants. there is also tuk-tuks going around all the time, super easy to get a ride. We were very comfortable here, definitely would stay again! Sunrise and sunsets are specially stunning in Abu Simbel, DO NOT MISS!!! We saw the sunset from the riverside just next to the hostel and sunrise by the Abu Simbel Temple. Highly recommended!

He can organise things before you get there. He organised our tickets for AS and the sound and light show. He also arranged a great guide that was really good and informative. Place was lovely and nicely done. Was very impressed. Would definitely stay there again.

The owner helped us arrange transport from from Aswan and back and helped with organising activities in Abu Simbel. Make sure you have USD in cash for payment Everything was great.
