Marinus (7/5): slaap accommodatie prima. De rest viel tegen. - De naam Schloss Hertefeld deed vermoeden dat er meer was dan een kamer naast het gelegen slot geen restaurant niet in de slot omgeving
Jan (3/5): Viel erg tegen - Groene Omgeving Wij voelen ons in de maling genomen. We hadden verwacht op een slot ( kasteel) te verblijven, zeker verwacht dat het ontbijt op het kasteel zou plaatsvinden. Overnachting kon in een bijgebouw zijn maar toch niet zoals nu helemaal buiten het park. Waar het ontbijt geserveerd werd leek wel een crèche, een gegil van jonge kinderen , daar was ook een speelgelegenheid gevestigd. Kwamen veel mensen van buitenaf, geen hotelgasten. Het ontbijt was a la carte. Slot Herteveld is deels een ruïne.

Stefanie (8/5): - Super Lage im Grünen. Da kann der Urlaub gleich entspannt gut anfangen. Mein Zimmer ging zur Straße raus. Ich war nur eine Nacht da und musste früh zum Flughafen, daher habe ich einfach das Fenster geschlossen. Bei einem Aufenthalt mit mehr Nächten hätte ich das Zimmer getauscht. Sonst war alles sehr gut. Bequeme Betten.

Nice shower with good pressure. Large square pillows. This is a very continental European thing, so not just specific to this property. I just can't get used to them.

Rob (9/5): Comfortable clean rooms in beatifull park setting - We stayed in a comfortable room situated in a park with nice clean rooms and friendly staff. Interesting concept: Towels are provided in a central cupboard outside the rooms so there is no waste cleaning the whole stack of small and large towels mist hotels provide in their bathrooms. We had breakfast in the castle which was very good in a special 'cave like' setting. Two minor things but important to know up front: Airport Weeze had early plane starts from 6am on Saturday, and on Sunday morning the church bell's rang a bit too enthusiastically to our taste.

Anne-marie (7/5): Good hotel, but don't be mislead by the castle! - We stayed in a renewed corner-room with a view on the park in a building close to the road, with closed windows - very quiet. Lots of options to sit in different spaces on the ground floor, which makes this a good place for big groups. The room had a funky theme and comfortable, good bed and shower. There is a bridge leading you from the 'estate' straight into town. Garden is lovely. Overpriced breakfast, served in the hall of the restored castle ruin, but too packed (sharing tables with strangers) and limited choices foodwise. We recommend having breakfast in the tearoom close to the road! Zoo is funny, partly ran down feature in the park. Never got the TV working to check the news, but wifi was perfect!

The reception was excellent The hosts very lovely people with a heart for their property. The breakfast was lovely well made and very tasteful definitely a place to recommend when you want a romantic stay over. I really can't think about anything which was not taken care of.

The lady who welcomed us at the reception was very friendly, and when she found out it was our 1-year anniversary she arranged a bottle of bubbles for us. We stayed in the Asian room, which was lovely. Super comfy bed, and luxury bathroom. The location is stunningly beautiful. Highly recommended!
