Guest Reviews
- Tale Kristin (10/5): - Loved everything about Mai Sunset! Very authentic Fijian feeling over the place, thanks to the wonderful and warm workers who do everything for the guest to feel welcome. Delicious food and nice activities.

- FRANCESCA (10/5): Thank you Tish and all the team for making us live our perfect Fijian dream! Looking forward to come back! - We had the absolute best 24 hours of our lives at this newly opened resort! From the very first to the last moment, we were treated like queens. The welcome was incredible—the entire staff greeted us with a traditional song and a delicious welcome cocktail garnished with a flower. It truly felt like family.
The property is brand new, impeccably clean, and has immense potential as a top-tier luxury resort. They placed beautiful fresh flowers everywhere for us to find, which was such a lovely touch. Our room was stunning and spotless, but the absolute highlight was the outdoor shower under the stars—simply SPECTACULAR!
The atmosphere is wonderfully authentic. We loved the local activities they organized, like coconut husking, basket weaving, and snorkeling. The staff was always so friendly, ready to chat, interact with us, and share fascinating stories about island life.
The food was absolutely delicious! A massive well done to the chef and the culinary team. We tasted almost every dish, and each one was spectacular in both flavor and presentation. We also treated ourselves to a massage right by the sea; it was incredibly relaxing, and the massage therapists were amazing.
When it was time to say goodbye, the staff hugged us and sang a beautiful farewell song. Leaving the island was heartbreaking. Thank you for the best 24 hours of our lives! Nothing, it was all more than perfect
- Millie (9/5): - Soon to be the best resort in Fiji
Great staff, so friendly, knew all the guests by name
Dorms were amazing, only 4 people per room with an en-suite and outside shower, real luxury.
Exactly like the private bures unlike most other resorts.
Amazing food, you won’t be hungry, and they will cater to any requirements
Village tour was great
Good snorkelling equipment
Only 7 guests there, very chill There is currently still some renovations happening as the resort has just reopened and staff are very new.
For solo travellers wanting a social stay this may not be it as it is quiet and there aren’t evening activities, although they plan to do this when they’re busier. I loved the time to myself though!
Rooms were quite warm
- Elliot (9/5): Beautiful and serene location, stunning views and wonderful staff. - The most beautiful location. You couldn’t ask for anything more secluded and tranquil. The rooms, although quite simple, were lovely and clean and spacious. The outdoor shower was particularly nice. Truly, if you want to visit the Yasawas and not pay some ridiculous amount of money to be around far too many people, and you really want to switch off - Mai Sunset is perfection.
Sometimes all you can hear is the sound of the ocean and the wind in the coconut palms. There is so little disturbance, the staff and friendly and kind, they were always so sweet and thoughtful and they even made a birthday cake for my partner’s birthday as a surprise! So cute. They also greeted us with a song and freshly cut coconuts. 😍
The water is crystal clear, so many fish when snorkelling, the beach is gorgeous for a walk. And watching the sun go down over the Pacific Ocean was really unlike anything else.
Food was decent, and there are quite a few options, but could be more if there’s any constructive feedback to give. But really, you won’t be disappointed especially at the price. We could not be happier after our stay. Big thanks to all the staff 💙 Nothing!
Be aware there is zero mobile phone coverage and wifi only really works in the restaurant, but honestly this was actually great to be able to be disconnected from all the goings on of the world.
1 A Bungalows mit Meeresblick
- Tye (8/5): Chilled, Relaxed, and friendly - The staff were very friendly, personal and accomodating. Room was very clean, awesome rooms. Food was good, free activities and drinking water. Ultra relaxing and chilled, if your looking for a commercial resort, this isnt your place, we absolutley loved it. Snorkling equipment could be better, might be best to bring your own.
- Karine (8/5): -
- Simone (10/5): -
- Donna (10/5): I’ll be back and thank you - The resort was new and clean with great facilities and extra touches with fabulous high quality shower products . Hot water and good flow from the shower .The beach chairs with a view and most amazing sunsets. The boatman was great very helpful and would take us out to close by reefs for free , he could not help us enough .
The food was amazing and I tried the local sea grapes yum. The staff were very lovely and seemed genuine and kind .All the staff were amazing I highly recommend this beautiful resort .I felt I’d found my Fijian family especially when they sang us our farewell song . I loved everything
- David (10/5): - Garden paradise. Not yet discovered by the crowd!
- Wilma (9/5): Great place to stay! - Nice bure, good view, eating great very much. The best the staff Niti, Ami, Jai.. The price difference for the next four days , to that what we paid was to much.
- Katherine (10/5): Great solo traveler experience - This resort was exactly what I needed, and I loved my experience so much! The staff is all from the local village, and they seem to genuinely enjoy each other and the resort. There were less than 10 travelers there at a time, and they were nice. The food was good
The snorkeling was incredible. It was everything I needed and blissfully quiet and uncrowded
- Elisabeth (8/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, super schöne Unterkunft, toller Service! Essensauswahl war nicht so gut
- Ailie (10/5): Perfect - Relaxing vibe, beautiful coral, delicious food and friendly helpful staff . The standard of accommodation was very high
- Brian (9/5): Loved our stay, great snorkelling, - Staff were exceptional and went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay. Accommodation was great. Nothing
- Joris (10/5): - Amazing place: beautiful & tranquil location overlooking the Pacific, well built bungalows, friendly staff - a perfect place to relax and recharge
- Kathleen (10/5): Good stay - Well maintained, clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful staff Nothing
- Thomas (9/5): A beautiful place to stay! - It was so quiet and relaxing! The surroundings were absolutely stunning, the facilities were very modern and comfortable and the staff were so friendly and welcoming! Whilst the food selection was good, one or two of the meals were a tad disappointing. There were a lot of mosquitoes, my friend and I got bitten to pieces (I understand that this cannot be helped)
- adele (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Perfect location to relax and unwind. - So relaxing. Beautiful location, excellent Bure accomodation and lovely staff. Nothing
- Fabian (9/5): Best Value - Everything is very new and well maintained. The outdoor shower is excellent and the beds are comfy.
The beach and the snorkeling right in front of the beach are great.
We haven't seen Mantas on our Manta tour... that's Nature, they however charged us less due to that, which is very kind.
We also had a bad weather day, but there are plenty of games to play in the main area.
The food was good to very good, depending on the day. Sometimes less spiced, sometimes perfect.
Great price for what you get and our favourite place in the Yasawa. One can see that it is new and thus also not very constant: food, activities and sometimes the personnel were just standing around not exactly knowing what to do.
- Josefina (10/5): I had the best experience 10/10 - I loved every single minute of my stay. The staff was so nice, they went the extra mile to make every guest feel welcome and taken care of, always smiling and very polite. The place itself is SO beautiful and quite new, rooms are big and comfortable. Plenty of activities to do if you feel like it, otherwise just chill by the beach. The views are a 20/10. Amazing No curtains on the rooms, would suggest bringing eye mask - it’s not necessarily a bad thing but something to consider
- Anja (10/5): Relaxed, kind, caring staff. - Kindness of staff & coral reefs!
- Simona (7/5): - The villa was amazing, right in front of the beach. The villa didnt have curtains, so zero privacy and in the morning we couldnt sleep in because it was bright.
They dont have a lot of fins and the ones that they have are a men size. (Bring your own if you need to use them)
The food is ok nothing exciting, but if you stay for a long period it gets pretty boring, the menu doesnt change.
there are not many activities and when we were there were not many people staying compare to the other resorts that we have visited.
- Nina (9/5): -
- Tetyana (10/5): Above all expectations - Basically everything: location, staff, food. Nothing
- INABA (9/5): -
- thomas (10/5): -
- John (10/5): People are what make your stay, the staff greet you when you are and depart, leaving a tear in the eye just wonderful st - Absolutely beautiful, grounds and accommodation superb in all respects Nothing
- Jocelyn (10/5): Reef, mantas, culture and cuisine. - The property is fairly new and and such in great condition. The dining hall is amazing and the food choices are unrivalled. Make sure you try the local delicacy- sea grapes. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The dorm is only 4 beds which makes it perfect for family or friends and the outdoor showers are a special treat. The reef has some striking geological formations and of course the opportunity to swim with the mantas is a bonus. Ask Paul (the owner) to give you a tour of the resort and the workings behind building and running a remote island resort.
- Catrina (9/5): Superb - Loved the rooms and the ocean views. The people were all lovely and the food was delicious. Very quiet and relaxing.
- Sinead (10/5): The only place you need to stay in Fiji - We were very well looked after at Mai Sunset and had the most amazing experience. Our cabin was in pristine condition and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and the staff catered any requests for us. Jay brought us to his local village as well as snorkelling and answered any questions we had. I will be returning to Mai Sunset any chance I get.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giorgia (9/5): A true paradise! - We had a wonderful time at Mai Sunset Island Resort. The location is absolutely stunning – the views of the ocean at sunset are truly unforgettable. The resort has a relaxed, laid-back vibe and is perfect if you're looking to disconnect and enjoy nature.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. The meals were simple but delicious, and we loved the communal dining experience – it was a great way to meet other travelers.
We did a couple of excursions, including snorkeling with Mantas and a visit to the local village, and everything was well organized. The beach in front of the resort is beautiful and great for swimming or just relaxing with a book.
If you're looking for a peaceful escape in a breathtaking location, Mai Sunset is definitely worth it. We'd love to come back someday! If I had to mention one small improvement, it would be to add a personal reading light for each bed in the shared dorms. That way, guests could read or get ready without needing to turn on the main light and disturb others.
- Zoey (10/5): Perfect bliss - The kindest staff beautiful rooms lovely food and the best beaches - one of my favourite islands for relaxing Nothing.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Amazing - The staff were super friendly and personal. The rooms were lovely. The place was very clean and the beach was great. I also like how snorkelling, kayaks and ‘library’ were free of charge. There was some issues with the internet.
- Jordanna (9/5): A little slice of paradise - Loved the location, how peaceful and serene it was, you could snorkel right of the beach, the staff were so hospitable, warm, and friendly. They would go out of their way to help ensure you had a wonderful stay. The food and meal plan was excellent as well with all food so fresh! The only minor point was the lack of air con in the shared dorms however the island is cool at night but I found it hard to sleep (I prefer to sleep at 19 degrees).
- Navarro (10/5): Personnel incroyablement attachant - Le personnel
- Lisa (10/5): Most peaceful place on Earth! - Where to start? If you are looking for tranquility, fun, relaxation, look no further! We were very few guests at the time and it was sooo peaceful. It's the perfect place to unplug and find yourself. The facilities are outstanding, the place beautifully manicured and landscaped, and the staff is amazing (special shout out to Jay). We went swimming with Mantas here and it was just mindblowing! Thanks to the flexibility and local knowledge of the staff, it was the BEST experience seeing the Mantas do summersaults and swim just under the water's surface. A lot of fried food options, not very versatile. Limited offer of activities.
- Dai (10/5): A hidden paradise - Mai Sunset Island Resort is a truly hidden Gem. We loved every thing about this little Paradise. The beautiful resort and beach, the delicious food , the friendly staff, the modern and brand new room, the wonderful sunsets. The thing we enjoyed the most was snorkeling with Jay. Jay took us to several beautiful spots for snorkeling for free! We most highly recommended this resort to everyone, we will definitely stay again when we have a chance to visit Yasawa Islands in the future. None
- Aisling (10/5): A gorgeous stay with the kindest staff. The ultimate place for relaxation. - A gorgeous little resort. The most relaxed i've ever felt.
The dorm room cottages were absolutely beautiful. Only 4 to a room. Amazing outdoor shower. Shower under the stars.
The staff made me feel so welcome and at home. I slept wonderfully. Jay brought us to some amazing Snorkelling spots. The cava ceremony with Elenoa was beautiful. Stunning sunsets. The wifi went with the rain which was out of their hands but if you need internet for work could be an issue. Only made the experience more relaxing for me though. Room for improvement with the food. Shower pressure not great.
- Fiorella (9/5): Amazing location and very relaxing time , free stress zone ! - Very quiet and relaxing Staff could have been more responsive , no wifi
- Claudia (10/5): The perfect balance between beauty , calmness and beauty - Happy with my choice of this establishment, also run by a very dedicated owner , with exquisite food, well-kept landscapes, fantastic sea & very affordable gorgeous excursions nearby , very friendly staff, and a willingness to make sure everything works perfectly for your stay . It's truly a very calm little piece of paradise. I would always return.
- Marina (9/5): Amazing stay - Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Everything is new, so it looks very luxury. The bathroom is in the bedroom, which is great. Very big shower.
My highlight was snorkeling with the mantaray. Only 3 people on the boat and we could stay as long as we wanted.
The staff is amazing, they all now your name. Every afternoon playing volleybal with staff and guests, I had a great time here. Unfortenately, I had a food poisoning on my last day, but the staff looked after me and gave me discount which I appreciate. I really liked the food though, especially the sandwiches for lunch.
Me and 2 other guests touched the coral on a snorkeling trip, which is painful :( maybe the staff can decide more careful where they let guests snorkel.
- Florian (9/5): A little piece of quite paradise. - The quality of the food was very good, but the hospitality deserves special mention. The always kind authentic service was outstanding.
- Lucca (8/5): Very good - The resort is really pretty.
The beach, the bures and the dorms are beautiful.
The staff is very kind and helpful.
The food was really good. More than enough and with a wide range of options.
It wasn’t really crowded because it had just opened last year, that was really nice as well.
I can only recommend a visit here.
- Lloyd (9/5): Peaceful paradise! - We loved waking up to the view of the ocean.. We had some wonderful snorkeling trips with our boatman Nimi! We especially enjoyed the day he took us all the way around the island and we saw the remains of a WW2 plane in a lagoon! We enjoyed sampling the local food on the resort menu such as coconut rolls and sea grape salad! Thanks to Paul and staff for a wonderful stay! Pizza wasn't great, but who cares! We can get that at home.
- Samuel (8/5): Amazing isolated resort with relaxation and activities aplenty. - Amazing retreat, the sunsets are not to missed. The people and food at this resort are warm and welcoming. Truly felt like family by the end of my stay. enjoyed reading under the trees and reading snorkling to my hearts content, playing volley ball and going on adventures to the surrounding islands. will come back and use this place as a base to do more exploring in the future. The internet was out while I stayed. but was a good break from the world.
- Lucie (9/5): Pristine clean, beautiful facilities, nice staff - The people working here were very kind and offered me many options for activities, even though there weren't many people when I stayed. The rooms are beautiful - even the dorm rooms (4 people) have private bathrooms with an outdoor shower <3 all was kept pristine clean.
The food was all delicious, especially the salad with the sea grapes! And there are many meal options to choose from for all three meals of the day, including many traditional dishes.
There is a cool walk up the hill for a view of the island. I missed some hanging lines for swimsuit etc., and there could be self-serving coffee station for breakfast and lunch. But these are tiny things, my stay was very comfortable.
- Angela (10/5): We loved it - We loved everything - such a well designed, solar powered, and very comfortable resort, amongst lovely gardens, in a beautiful location. Comfy beds, ceiling fans and clean, modern outdoor bathrooms. The staff are amazing - incredibly friendly, helpful and respectful. Great snorkelling and lovely food - mostly western with several Fijian choices at each meal. The wifi was down during our visit - out of the resort's hands. As I needed contact with home, I was fortunate to have bought a Vodafone SIM and there was one spot on the beach where I could get a connection. Worth considering getting a SIM if contact is important.
- Charlie (10/5): A hidden gem ❤️ - The loveliest staff and the most amazing resort vibes. Not like a regular resort and I mean that in the best way possible - not crazy busy, and plenty of spaces to relax and unwind. Activities are super chill - we would be asked in the morning what we wanted to do and it was arranged accordingly, rather than a strict schedule of if you want to do this then it's at this time. Rooms are stunning and even the dorm room had an en suite and outdoor shower which was a treat! Meals are great and I enjoyed that we all ate together at one big table, it was nice for someone like me who was travelling alone. Had some kava on the first night which was a great bonding activity for the group. Cannot recommend this place enough and if I'm ever lucky enough to come back to Fiji I will be paying it another visit ❤️ The ONLY thing I can think of was that phone service at the resort isn't great and whilst I was there the wifi was down, but actually this wasn't too much of an issue for me at all and it was nice to switch off
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): arrived in peace within a few moments - This beautiful little resort is something truly special!
We hope it stays that way, even as it becomes more well-known. The staff all come from the nearby village and are incredibly welcoming. You shouldn't expect great luxury, but you'll find everything you need: comfortable beds, nice showers, good food, and both free and paid (not too expensive) activities. We really enjoyed playing volleyball every day, for example.
The Fiji time we experience here means the most relaxing vacation ever. You rarely find such peace and quiet.
We really hope to be able to come back one day!
- Sonja (10/5): Perfect stay - Wonderful resort with excellent service!
- Jaroslaw (10/5): Our piece of paradise - We had the most incredible stay at Mai Sunset Island Resort in Fiji, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made us feel like family. The resort is a true paradise, nestled on a pristine beach with swaying palms and crystal-clear waters that seem to glow at sunset—hence the name, and it absolutely lives up to it!
Our bure was a perfect blend of traditional Fijian charm and modern comfort, with a cozy bed, stunning ocean views, and an outdoor shower that felt like a little slice of luxury under the stars. The food was a highlight—fresh, local ingredients crafted into delicious meals, with the coconut ice cream being an unforgettable treat. The compulsory meal plan was worth every penny, offering a variety of dishes that showcased Fijian flavors.
The activities were endless and so much fun—snorkeling over vibrant reefs, kayaking along the shore, trips to the local village or just lazy stroll along the beach. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every experience was seamless, always with a smile(thank you Male, Nivi, Ave, Vinie, Rauga).
What truly sets Mai Sunset apart is its serene, intimate vibe. It’s not overcrowded, so you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. The connection to Fijian culture was also special—learning about local traditions and seeing the care put into every detail made the stay meaningful. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and create memories that last a lifetime, Mai Sunset Island Resort is pure perfection. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!
- Jennifer (10/5): A treasure waiting to be explored - The cleanliness is amazing. The property is new and the craftsmanship was excellent in the buildings and furniture. The outdoor showers at the back of each bure were amazing and the mattress was really good quality. The vibe was chill and I felt like I could properly switch off and relax. The view was stunning, the coral was great for swimming. Even got to gather some sea grapes with the locals. Need a few more lounge chairs for all the guests and some cushions. Maybe even make them in wood like rest of property as it’s such a good finish.
- Fiona (10/5): Nice little gem - Really nice beach, clean spacious rooms, everything was brand new. Overall, it is very good value for money. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms, which could be an issue if you are staying during the warmer season. I was only there two nights so it was OK. Otherwise, they do have a ceiling fan and grids on the windows (so you can sleep with the windows open).
The WiFi is only available in the bar area. It will either force you to have a digital detox if you want to stay in your room or to stay in the main area (which could be a good thing to meet other guests.)
Not a deal breaker, but some of the snorkelling equipment could have been a bit cleaner. There will be stuff to use to snorkel, but you will have to be selective. This is something they could easily improve on.
- Craig (10/5): A must stop in an island chain of ‘must stops’ - The setting for this resort was in stunning greenery. The resort is new and the layout very tastefully done which much consideration for aesthetics and the environment. I was lucky to be the only guest at the time and staff couldn’t have been more attentive and diligent. The chef is the world’s happiest man and in a country full of lovely people, Venny is the loveliest. The coral reefs were incredible for snorkelling. The dorm in which I stayed was also incredibly modern. It’s been my favourite stop in the yasawas so far. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): Great value resort in a beautiful setting - Really lovely friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet, if that is what you want.
- Simone (10/5): A little piece of paradise! - A little piece of paradise!
Paul, Liti and the team made us feel like „home away from home“.
The facilities are new, comfy and the garden is beautiful! The staff is friendly, knows you by name and is taking good care - a highlight: you even get coconuts for free all day long :)
They offer a lot of different activities (both free of charge and charged): we went snorkeling, visited a local village, prepared our own coconut ice cream & played volleyball.
The meal plan is worth the price: you can choose between many different meals for breakfast, lunch as well as dinner and the portions are big. You can drink as much coffee and tea as you like.
- Mostafa (10/5): Unforgettable - The property was a dream really. We enjoyed every minute thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the amazing staff of the island. Everything
- Elena (9/5): Perfect idealic tropical escape! Would be happy to come back next time in Fiji - Great new super chilled and small resort! Family & relaxed vibe. Super friendly staff who looked after us very well! Unlimited mango bowl in the restaurant was amazing! As the place is super new it might miss a few bits & bobs like a lounge type couches in the restaurant/social area, more sizes/better snorkeling equipment, etc. But i’m sure after 6months more it will all be there.
- Ainajan (10/5): Fabulous - I liked everything, room was excellent, staff were very friendly, food delicious. Resort very well managed, garden is beautiful, snorkeling is amazing! I would highly recommend this resort. It’s very new and clean!
- Brendan (10/5): A fantastic resort in a beautiful location - even in terrible weather! - The location, food, staff, and facilities were all amazing! It was nice being able to order your meal from a menu rather than relying on a buffet. It's a small resort (I believe only 4 rooms were open during our stay) so depending on the length of your visit you become quite familiar with the staff - all of which were brilliant! There is a range of both free and paid activities on offer, as well as kayaks and snorkels available for use free of charge. We had some pretty terrible weather during our stay but were still able to get out for a snorkel (which was very good) between downpours, and the activities guys were always more than happy to take us out to some great snorkeling spots for free. Drinks were reasonably priced from the restaurant, and there is a small selection of snacks and general items available for purchase from the office. Wi-Fi works well at the restaurant but operates off the cellular network so may have periods where it drops out during inclement weather. There are some massive mango trees throughout the resort that produce the most delicious mangos I've ever eaten, highly recommend! Overall, a fantastic experience and would not hesitate to recommend to others or to stay again in the future.
- Portia (10/5): Beautiful place and beautiful people! - It was clean, peaceful and beautiful Only thing I could say was not being able to make the rooms dark in the morning with some blinds
- Leïla (10/5): I Will happily return anytime - The staff are very lovely and service oriented, location is incredible, the beach was the best i went to among 3 other in the Yasawa Island.
It’s really a unique location with all the amenities you need. The bathroom with the outside shower was phenomenal and everything so clean
- Eoin (9/5): Superb -
- Nikola (9/5): Superb -
- Lindsay (10/5): Paradise! - It’s a new resort 10 years in the making and only open 6 months ago.The owners have done a fabulous job. Quality construction and top of the line furnishings. Beautiful isolated location. No stores nearby but restaurant and bar on site.Nice beach for swimming or snorkeling.Very comfortable bures(cabins) . Showers with hot water.Lots of coconut and mango trees. The staff welcomes you with song and a cold coconut to drink. The resort has a mandatory 3 meals/day policy. Although the food in the restaurant was excellent some guests don’t need to eat 3 meals/day. A 2 meal/ day would be a nice option. The resort is a bit pricey but well worth it . Highly recommend this Fijian experience.
- Bond (10/5): Super relaxing - If you want a relaxing few days this place is for you.
Opened earlier in the year and only 5 rooms are open at present (3 private’s and 2 dorms I think). I believe there will be 10 rooms in total when they open fully.
I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and it wasn’t a dorm as such - 4 single beds, beautiful en suite and even better outdoor shower which was powerful and had hot water. Very sturdy buildings - not like the tents in other resorts.
Everywhere was extremely clean.
Staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome - the service is second to none.. No unnecessary check in process - they just welcomed you, showed you to your room and you just paid for everything on check out.
Meals are chosen off a set menu for breakfast lunch and dinner - you choose your next meal during the prior meal. Lots of choose from western food to local food. I 100% believe it’s cooked fresh and I saw some fishermen taking their catch from the sea to the restaurant.
They have snorkelling from the beach front which I did - I believe it’s a lot better if the boatman takes you for free towards the island but the winds took off when I was there so unfortunately gave that and the kayaking a miss as I’d get blown to the next island.
If you want lots of people this isn’t for you - there was around 7 people during my stay but a nice mix of couples and solo travelers and just somewhere calm to read a book and relax.
Fresh coconuts and mango provided for you during the day.
They also have a kind of communal big table where solo people can sit and chat to other solo people. Nothing bad to say but a suggestion would be cushions for the plastic sunbeds, and maybe some beanbags on the grass outside the restaurant. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind it I carried a beanbag from outside my room over to there though.
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional - ~ a place like heaven on earth ~ Liti and her fantastic team made my stay like feeling home ~ always a huge smile on the face and so helpful, always up for a nice chat ~ spacious rooms, comfortable bed, outdoor shower where you can count the stars while wash the sand off 😄 ~ very delicious variety of fresh meals, you won't leave the table with an empty stomach ~ snorkeling, hiking, village visit, volleyball, fresh mango & coconut available the whole day, and many more offers ~ stunning sunsets from the beach ~ and still a very quiet and peaceful place ~ I hope to come back one day 🌺 Vinaka Vaka Levu to the whole Team once again 🌺
- Morgane (10/5): I'll come back 🤞 - Everything was fabulous ☺️
- Denis (10/5): Perfect familiar stay in a heartful atmosphere 🤍 - From the beginning till end it was undoubtedly a perfect vacation. Warm welcome by the staff which all call you by your individual name. Very familiar atmosphere! Great facilities since it’s a new resort! Big thank you to Jay who was always there wir a talk and asked about what we want to do .. vinaka to the whole team! It was a lovely experience
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Eliana (10/5): Paradise retreat. - During all our trip around the Yasawa Islands, this is the place we liked the most and will highly likely come back. The facilities are wonderful and the staff is the friendliest and nicest ever. Paul's crew are a bunch of legends that made our stay a memorable one ❤️ N/A Everything was perfect!
- Iva (10/5): Relaxing new resort with amazing food! - We loved our stay in Mai Sunset!very relaxing, calm ,natural beach! Free coconut and mango all day long and the food was just amazing! The chef here is a good one:) it is a new resort open for few months only so everything is very clean and the stuff here is just TOP! They are all very kind and makes you feel like st home comparing to other resorts in Fiji, they are very small so you have all attention of the stuff
The rooms is very nice as well, outdoor shower is just wow! Snorkling and kayaks free of charge, due to weather we couldnt go to the caves but i think it worths it!
We went to the local village and school which was an experience of a lifetime for us
Thank you for everything Liti, Jay, Are, Paul and everyone from the team:) Nothing really:) we were unlucky one day as it was raining
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional - My best place during my trip in Yasawa Island. Stunning resort, lovely staff. Happy moments there❤️
- Samantha (10/5): Exceeded all expectations! - One of our most memorable resort experiences ever! Everything was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. The resort is beautiful, the food amazing and the beachfront bures clean and comfortable. The beach and surrounding reef was amazing but the staff and owners were a real standout in the experience, making us feel like we were being welcomed into a family. When we had to leave :(
- Jasper (9/5): This place should remain a secret - What is there not to like if you got a beautiful bure next to the beach with hammocks under the shade of the palm trees and a very good outdoor shower. Throw in the lovely staff and nice western and local food options and you would want this place to stay a secret Nothing
- Mirka (10/5): Staying in paradise.. - We absolutely loved our stay at Mai Sunset. The location was amazing, the beach was beautiful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. But what we loved the most about our stay were the staff and management of the resort (especially Leanne, Paul, Liti, Peci and all the others too). They treated us like family and we wish we could have stayed much longer. The food was also amazing, especially the prawns with cream sauce and nama salad! We also loved the abundance of fresh coconuts, mangos, pawpaws and bananas!
We visited the village and went to the church service which was an incredible experience. We also loved the singing and dancing of the local village group one night, such a great atmosphere.
This was our absolute favourite place we stayed at in the Yasawas and hopefully we will be back one day. Thank you for everything 🙏🏽. There was nothing we didn’t like :)
- Ilda (10/5): Exceptional - Great people, great fales, great activities, great food! Everything was amazing and I definitely could have stayed longer. Especially the staff made this stay unforgettable.
- Natasha (10/5): Lovely resort - I felt very welcomed. The room was very clean. Great food and drinks. Offered different activities for everyone.
- Narraina (10/5): The best place in Yasawas. - Start to finish a wonderful experience - staff is friendly and knowledgable. The house reef is stunning and they take you out with the boat to the reef at no additional fee. Hammocks on the beach are a dream and the overal experience is just everything you want it to be - a huge difference with the larger resorts in the Yasawas. Nothing - this is the best place I've stayed in Fiji.
- Tolstoy (9/5): Very beautiful. - When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome song. The room was exceptional, super comfy and clean. We had an outdoor shower at night underneath the stars which was amazing! They held a lovo ceremony where they cooked fish, chicken, and veges underground for us and it was incredibly delicious. The water was not as blue compared to islands further north but it was still stunning and great for swimming. We did a guided fishing trip and it was incredible, I’ve never swam with so many fish!! The hosts and owner were very kind and accommodating. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. It was a touch on the expensive side, but if you are going to stay at a resort then I would highly recommend this one!
- Anna (10/5): Mai Sunset was an unforgettable experience - Our stay at Mai Sunset was an unforgettable experience surrounded by breathtaking beauty. The crystal-clear blue waters and lush tropical surroundings created a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The warmth and friendliness of the local people made us feel incredibly welcome, adding to the charm of the place. It was the perfect escape for relaxation and tranquility, leaving us rejuvenated and refreshed. That our stay was too short.
