Guest Reviews
- Eugenio (8/5): - Everything super good They charged us 20$ for a broken pitcher.. is it really market price?
Nulla.
- Bertrand (9/5): Un endroit adorable à recommander - Le bungalow « black iguana » était parfait.
La piscine est géniale.
Tout le cadre est super
- Audrey Dominique (9/5): Très bel endroit - Magnifique Piscine !
- Kelly (10/5): Beautiful and serene - Beautiful, quiet and clean property. The pool was a highlight for our family. Perfect for relaxing. The staff were lovely, friendly and very hard working. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It will be great when the restaurant opens.
- Maria (1/5): Terrible communication , I wouldn’t risk staying here. - Nothing , I couldn’t stay there because no one responded on WhatsApp or at reception when I arrived after hours. Even though I had discussed my late check-in with the staff in advance, and they were aware of it, they never answered my calls. As a result, I had to find another place to stay late at night in Placencia, which was difficult given that it’s a small town with limited after-hours services. Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): Very lovely space. - Very lovely little space. Eco friendly. A bit far from town but very close to the beach and the pool is fabulous. No restaurant onsite - there is one across the road.
- Couturier (7/5): - Au calme , bel emplacement jolie piscine.
- Dan (8/5): Eco cabins available, a lovely relaxed stay with beautiful wildlife. - Great location & relaxed area. Amazing cabins. Out of date booklet, no restaurant on site.
- Sophie (10/5): A fantastic stay in a beautiful and peaceful setting. - Beautiful property, easy to reach, with fantastic hosts and a great cappuccino. We rented an electric scooter directly at the resort, which was perfect for exploring the peninsula. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, with super soft, fresh white sheets. We loved preparing breakfast in the outdoor kitchenette surrounded by birds and agoutis, and the night swim in the pool under the stars was magical. Truly a wonderful stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer
- Lucie (10/5): Thank you so much, it was a wonderful stay. - We had an upgrade of the room. Beautiful and very comfortable cabin, extremely clean and well equipped. The pool area is stunning, and the view with the surrounding gardens creates a peaceful little haven. We liked very much the attention to details.
We vonden aller erg onpersoonlijk.
- Sébastien (10/5): On a adoré !! - Magnifique logement et superbe environnement.
Le jardin et la piscine sont tops.
Les employés très gentils.
On s’ sent super bien. Idéal pour chiller. Rien
- Shane (7/5): - I liked that the villa we stayed in was separated from the other accomodations and kind of secluded. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell which I assume was coming from the septic up through the bidet.
- Camelia (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Kin Resort ❤️ - We stayed at Kin Eco Resort for a full week in January and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The resort is incredibly quiet, clean, and peaceful, the perfect place to truly relax and disconnect.
Everything is well maintained, and the atmosphere feels calm and natural, just what we were looking for.
A special thank you to Yosselin, the resort administrator, who was extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming throughout our stay. She made sure we had everything we needed and was always available with a smile and great recommendations.
If you’re looking for a serene eco-friendly retreat in Belize, Kin Eco Resort is a fantastic choice. We would happily come back!
- Alberto (10/5): Best place in Placencia - Best place in Placencia
We were looking for something authentic, and K’in Resort was truly beautiful.
The pool is magical, with stunning colors and surrounded by trees, very peaceful and relaxing.
If you are looking for luxury or a standard hotel, this place is not for you.
But if you want something authentic, with style, character, and a very personal touch, you will absolutely love it.
Yosselin is super nice and incredibly helpful.
She booked an island trip for us, which was amazing, and also arranged a scooter so we could explore the entire peninsula easily.
The restaurant across the road was very convenient.
The best days we spent in Belize.
Highly recommended All was perfect.
- Mary (9/5): Beautiful place - The rooms here are absolutely beautiful. Rustic, with natural materials and a lot of artistic flair. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.
We loved our little cabin with fridge, kettle and outside cooking and seating area. I wish we could have stayed longer.
The pool is lovely and there are agoutis scurrying around the garden. It's very peaceful at night.
The sea and beach is just across the road. We felt that although this is a gorgeous place, it was a bit overpriced.
The beach is much nicer at the Placencia end of the peninsula - the sea was very murky here with lots of weed. Perhaps it isn't always.
Normally I don't like/need a TV in rooms especially in places like this but this one had Netflix and movies on it which got us all excited... unfortunately it wasn't possible to access either so what was the point of having it there?
A few tea bags and a bit of coffee in the room would have been a nice touch, since there's a kettle there and mugs.
They offer food but you need to order it the day before. So if you arrive in the afternoon it's not possible to order anything for dinner. Luckily we had stuff with us, because the hotel across the road is super-expensive.
- Constance (1/5): Their apology next day was too little too late. - Never got to actually see it. No one was there when we arrived at 16:30. Place was pitch black. Are they even open? That no one was there to check us in. We What's App them several times and could see the checkmating dictating they read it. But no response. We also called and emailed to no avail.
- Vivi (7/5): Great for an experience, most affordable lodging we could find in an overpriced resort area. - The facilities are good for a shorter stay. We enjoyed the hot showers and allocated bathrooms even though they were a short walk away. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The sheets were divine! The bed was firm which we liked but the framing underneath was not straight which caused unevenness. The sand fleas were a nightmare but to be expected in a sandy and damp climate. There could be a place to hang clothes and stuff. Morning dew caused all surfaces to be wet which included all our clothing. It would have been smart of us to keep everything enclosed and covered.
- Truman (8/5): Comfortable basic room. - Funky, rustic place. Beautiful pool and seating. A little run down
- Julie (9/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Peaceful, friendly, authentic, and right in the lap of the natural landscape! - Awesome place, we loved the pool, the owners were friendly and attentive with personal touches throughout our stay. Eco friendly, you feel like you are part of the natural landscape, the details of how they built and arranged things kept surprising us. The lovely Italians owners serve a wonderful Italian breakfast, and offered to cook a traditional Italian meal, which we will do next time. Actually liked the freedom not to eat at the lodge, Olivia gave us fantastic recommendations, best crab we’ve ever had, authentic Belizian, and gelato to die for. We liked everything and we researched before we went. It’s right across from the beach, and easy to enjoy the beach which had lots of seaweed on it so the pool was better. It’s not a luxury accommodation, this is a place to be surrounded by nature, make friends with the owners, and enjoy a comfortable peaceful and quiet place, verses the ornate and very expensive monstrosities we could have chosen. We got exactly what we wanted at K’in
- Laura (5/5): - It was clean, large and very comfortable. The owners made a real effort to look after native wildlife. The beach was just over the road as was a very pleasant venue to enjoy dinner
Very pleasant helpful staff It was on a noisy main Rd, didn’t quite look like photos, as I got the impression it was adjacent to the beach not on the other side of the road, from the beach.
- Iris (10/5): -
Nada.
- Yuhki (10/5): -
- Geertje (2/5): Vreselijk, grote teleurstelling.
- Andrea (2/5): Extremely disappointing - Good location, beachfront property. This stay was extremely disappointing and stressful. Upon arrival, there were no lights and no hot water, forcing us to shower in another cabin. The cabin was very dirty: marks on walls, rat and gecko feces on couches and inside the stove, dusty fans, stained pillows, hair on shower walls, and grimy light switches.
There was a clear lack of attention to detail, we had to search for basic items like kitchen towels and request extra trash bags. The stove igniter did not work, and we were told to use a lighter to ignite the gas stove, which is unsafe and unacceptable for an advertised amenity. Because of this, we couldn’t even eat breakfast before an early tour.
Water issues continued throughout the stay. After a temporary repair, we returned from a long fishing trip on day two to no water from 6 PM until the next morning. The pool water was also extremely murky and unusable.
We had to contact the property manager daily to address ongoing problems. When we requested compensation, we were told a refund would be issued only if they felt “safe” there wouldn’t be a bad review, which reflects poor service recovery and professionalism. We also had to chase the refund.
Given the glowing reviews, this experience was shocking. I would not recommend staying here.
- Marta (10/5): - Awesome helpful staff
Nice cabins
Clean All the restaurants nearby belong to resorts and are extremely overpriced
The store is far too
It is good to have some sort of a transportation there to explore the town.
The hotel helped us rent a golf cart which was helpful
It is also important to note that the shower is a walk in shower but does not have much of a curtain etc so a person sitting in bed can watch another person having a shower
- Camilo (10/5): Relax and enjoy - It’s beautiful, well kept, and the staff is so kind and helpful
- Louisa (10/5): Lovely stay with an amazing host, would highly recommend for a relaxing break. - Peaceful property, gave the impression of being in a jungle. Beautiful pool! The owner Olivia was so welcoming and caring, she really makes you feel at home. We also tried Olivia’s Italian cooking on two nights, which was delicious. We organised two trips via the lodge - a day trip to Monkey River and a night trip to Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary - both of which were excellent. Cabin well equipped with fridge, coffee machine, toaster, blender and a little outdoor kitchen. The property is a few kilometres out of Placencia itself but walking distance to a grocery store and a couple of restaurants, there is a resort next door with a restaurant/bar and a nice gym. Nothing
- Regan (8/5): Staying here was like a BEAUTIFUL tropical escape! - Oliva was SO SWEET! So thankful to have stayed in such a beautiful and relaxing spot! The room was superb and the pool is INCREDIBLE! Even the shower and outdoor kitchen made me feel like I was staying in a villa!! It was the best, dreaming of going back one day! The location is a little far from the village and touristy spots. But Oliva was so sweet to offer accommodations with her personal vehicle!! There also is a golf cart rental company right next door so that is a very easy and convenient fix!
Super recomendable lugar!!
- Geenen (6/5): Lovely location, hidden fees - The villa was nice with a private dock and semi private beach (other guests may use the beach, not the dock of you stay in the villa) Location was perfect out of the downtown area. The bedrooms did get cool enough with the A/C. The hosts were quite nice. I was charged double from what I reserved on booking.com. perhaps my fault for not reading the fine print, I did say we were coming with two kids but I had failed to put their ages in as I was quickly browsing. It was not a good start to a weekend away to have to pay double at the door. I didn't have an option because we had already traveled there and it was a busy weekend in town.
There was mold growing on the ceiling of the master bed, very concerning to anyone, but especially someone with autoimmune. At check out we were asked if we enjoyed any of the drinks in the fridge. We did have a couple, and were charged double than store prices for them. I thought they had been left by a previous guest as there was no note indicating otherwise. Apparently it was a mini bar, had I known we would have only had the drinks we brought. Overall, the property needs some maintenance, window screens, mold mitigation, beach towels, and clearer communication... It was decent enough but not worth 1200bz for 2 nights in my opinion.
- Fabio (10/5): Simply wonderfull - Welcoming and friendliness. The owners are fantastic. They work with great passion and very positive attitude. The always operated to guaruatee the maximum confort of the guests.
Architecture and care of the bungalows, the large pool the garden would require more care, and the old cars in the parking should be removed
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were fabulous - very kind, wonderful people. The pool was lovely and available for use at any time, we had several night dips. There was also a coppola over the water at the beach which was very nice. We also enjoyed the wildlife on the property. Would come back for another stay. Our own fault - had some open snacks, beware of the ants!
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- N222nap (8/5): Very good -
- Fontenard (6/5): A unique rustic cabin setting, with potential - I would best describe here as a rustic setting under development. The owners are super helpful. The pool area was my favourite.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carney (9/5): Superb -
- Mallory (7/5): Good -
- Bigler (9/5): Superb -
- Pascal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Olivia and Fabio are super nice Italians who have built something really great here. There is a huge pool and private access to the beach. Olivia cooks according to her "Nonna's" recipes - the best spaghetti carbonara we've ever had. They really help you with every wish. Thanks for everything - hope to see you soon. Flo & Christian
- Bill (10/5): It felt like we found a home away from home while traveling. Does it get any better than that? - My wife and I loved how Fabio and Olivia developed the property. They’ve created a well thought out place to relax and supply us with all that we needed in a beautiful, creative way. The layout and inside of our cabin’s looks and feel were very artful. The use of space, lighting, and stonework had me smiling with joy. It’s organic and original. There wasn’t a pile of money thrown into each cabin. Instead there was a bunch of creative thinking and artistic touches you can’t buy at a store. In our travels around the world, Fabio and Olivia were some of the nicest hosts we’ve ever had. We would love to come back and spend more time at Kin Resort Lodge.
- Tomasz (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, quiet, Olivia and Fabio great people . Strongly recommend this place.
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Olivia and Fabio were the most wonderful hosts.. They were so helpful and kind and really made our stay extra special. I recommend the 2 bedroom beachfront property if it's available. It was so spacious, and it was so nice sleeping with the sound of the waves and watching pelicans fishing from the porch or the dock. The pool is gorgeous and there are adorable agoutis and iguanas on the property. The tours Olivia booked for us were outstanding as well. I stayed here with my teenager, and we had the best time!
- Boling (8/5): Very good -
- Hughes (9/5): We really liked the peaceful, natural setting of the resort. The hosts were very accommodating. -
- Lukas (9/5): Unique and cozy stay with lovely owners - Cozy cabin, with a lot of love for details, kind owners which are willing to help in any way, sustainable mindset, gorgeous pool
- Amy (10/5): Relaxing, enjoyable, and very comfortable - Olivia and Ken really gave us personal attention and bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable, had what we needed, etc. Olivia arranged excursions, transportation, and made and delivered delicious meals on request. I truly appreciated her being so relaxed about an issue I had with credit card initially. Beach right across street.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Fredrick (9/5): We would highly recommend staying at Kin Resort Lodge while visiting Placencia, Belize! - Kin Resort Lodge was a wonderful little gem within the Placencia ecosystem! Upon entering the resort, we were warmly welcomed by Olivia and shown around their lovingly maintained grounds. Nestled amongst the undisturbed natural backdrop were several cabanas with large outside seating areas and interiors with a fun rustic bohemian vibe! Our A-frame like structure was thoughtfully planned out in design and fully equipped with everything we could have asked for, even a blender for making that fresh pina-colada! Across the street was amazing direct access to the beach with a pier which we had the use of during our stay as well! Olivia was always ready to help with anything we might need including extra Belikin beers for our mini fridge and cappuccinos and homemade banana bread for breakfast! She even gave us a ride to the airport when we left! We were one week early for their pool grand opening but will catch the waves next time! Booking.com has the resort located in Maya Beach, when actually it is in Seine Bight. That could be a problem for taxis when trying to drop off visitors.
- Paul (9/5): My own beautiful chalet! - Swim at the beaches of Placencia... Yes please! An endless peninsula of white sands, clear open refreshing blue ocean, spectacular. Dubbed “barefoot perfect,” it's the most popular sea and sand getaway in Belize, stretching across 3 villages: Maya Beach, Seine Bight and Placencia. My K'in Resort beachfront cabana paradise may well prove to be my personal best. Once an off-the-beaten-path adventure, Placencia now serves the rich Americans with their palaces, home to the world's narrowest main street, Placencia Sidewalk is 4,071 feet long and 4 feet wide, and expanding, helping discover a myriad of local artists, small eateries and eclectic shops. The name the Spaniards gave to the peninsula in the 1800s meant Point Pleasant.
- June (10/5): Lovely and peaceful place to stay in nature - Olivia was amazing. Very quiet and beautiful spot.
- Ricci (10/5): Excellent, Awesome, Extremely Peaceful - Olivia was very friendly, welcoming, and warm. She had an answer for all questions regardless of nature. A wonderful hostess that's communicated frequently and well. Offering information about the country, culture, food, and all amenities available for the property and in the locale.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Olivia and Fabio run a beautiful property and went well beyond to insure I had an enjoyable and interesting time in the Placencia Peninsula. There was rain and they organized several trips and taxis etc when the initial activities I had planned had to be cancelled. Can’t speak highly enough of them and K’in.
- Chretien (10/5): Memorable stay. - Charming lodge near Placencia. Extremely well kept and clean. Olivia and her husband were soooo helpful and nice. We rarely got good service like that. The beach across the street was so nice. Very quiet, we were basically alone the entire time. We saw starfish, crabs, stingrays and other fish in the water, right near the beach. I Highly recommend this place. We were a family of three without a car, so getting to Placencia wasn’t as easy as we thought (our own fault, we didn’t research well enough when we booked). However, we took cabs and busitos to go to Placencia, and we could walk 20 min to reach a grocery store in Seine Bight.
- Robinson (10/5): Exceptional - Great spot. Very chill and relaxing. All in nature and very quaint. Peaceful and accommodating
- Thomas (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Excellent experience, Olivia helped me a lot during my stay in Placencia
- Andrea (10/5): Beautiful resort with excellent hospitality - Such a lovely place! Olivia is wonderful and attentive and there is clearly a lot of thought put into the way this place is built (as eco friendly as possible), expanded (pool coming in the near future), maintained and especially into the hospitality. Highly recommended.
- Jayson (10/5): Nature, comfort, good people, and the price is right... - Olivia and Fabio were fabulous hosts for my three-night visit to their K’in Resort Lodge. In fact, the stay was my most positive experience of the nine nights on my trip to Central America. I hadn’t been to Belize before, and didn’t know what to expect in renting a bungalow on the Placencia Peninsula. What I found and got was a spotlessly clean room and bathroom, a wonderful bed, great pillows, modern air conditioning, a terrific shower with hot water I didn’t need to wait for, fast WiFi, a nice ceiling fan, mood lighting, a secure entrance and outside seating area, and even a refrigerator with a pitcher of cold water and a bottle of beer within. On each of the three mornings, Olivia brought me a frothy cappuccino, fresh-squeezed passion fruit juice, and a breakfast treat, also and gave me some company to make me feel at home. The last evening, we actually all shared a dinner, beer, wine, and rum together on one of their outside pavillions— just like we were family members breaking bread as a group. In all, I not only had a good rental adventure, but also made new friends, even getting to meet all three of their beautiful children. They even offered to drop me off at the Placencia Airport when it looked like my arranged ride might not materialize. If you like nature, want comfort, are up for meeting the people who run the establishment, AND don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it, this is your place!
- Christina (10/5): A small, lovingly designed oasis in beautiful nature with incredible hosts. - We could not have wished for a better final accommodation after 3 weeks of Central America. Olivia and Fabio are just incredible hosts! You can really feel the love and passion they put into their beautiful resort, always caring about the nature around. At the area you find still the original trees and plants and you might see one or the other beautiful bird flying around.
Olivia was basically always available to provide us with helpful information, before the journey via WhatsApp and also during the stay. It is noticeable important to her that you have a great time :). We enjoyed twice great Italian cappuccino for breakfast and beside that loved to cook in the small kitchen included in the rooms. The small cabins are really cozy and provide everything you need.
The beach is just ahead of the street. During our stay we were actually always alone there and it feels a bit like paradise.
We can highly recommend a stay at their resort and hope that we also might make it one time back (also to enjoy the great pool which is about to be finished :))
- Bernadine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jennifer (10/5): A gorgeous property with outstanding hospitality. - This property was even prettier in person than it looks in the photos. Immaculately well-kept with beautiful native foliage all around, so respectful of the natural beauty of the area. The owners were so welcoming and Olivia had so many fantastic recommendations from our drive from the airport as well as all around Placencia. Nothing. We loved our stay!
- Breana (10/5): Wonderful experience that exceeded our expectations - The location was central to Placencia which is a bonus for those that may not have transportation. There were beautiful trees on the property which made it seem like we were in a tropical secluded resort. Our room was very clean and had everything we could have needed (stove, fridge, A/C, WiFi, kitchenware, table/chairs, bath/shower). Honestly the room was much better than some of the high priced resorts we stayed at. The owner was absolutely wonderful and we had a pleasant chat with her. We will definitely be returning.
- Geraldine (10/5): It is a must stay!!! We plan to return to resort sometime in the future.... - It is so hard to describe in words the hospitality that we received from our 2 hosts: Olivia and Fabio. Their main concern during our 10 day stay was that we were comfortable in their small resort. There was not a thing that we did not like. If the resort didn't have what we needed, Olivia made sure that we either entertained or accommodated in another part of their lovely peninsula. She made sure that my husband and I did not miss our beloved Super Bowl Game by reserving a table for us in the resturant located in the resort next door.
- Kathrin (10/5): Absolutely loved my stay! 😊 - My stay at Kin Resort in Placencia was absolutely delightful! From the moment I arrived, the owner greeted me with the warmest welcome, making me feel right at home. Their friendliness and genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable.
Not only was the owner incredibly sweet, but they were also extremely helpful, providing valuable insights and recommendations for exploring the beautiful Placencia area and helped to rent a bicycle over the weekend. Their personal touch really enhanced my experience.
The style of the accommodation was charming, blending local flair with modern amenities seamlessly. I appreciated the attention to detail in the decor, which added to the overall ambiance of comfort and relaxation.
Overall, my experience at Kin Resort exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming retreat in Placencia. I can't wait to return!
- Damin (9/5): very nice with perfect hosts -
- Mara (10/5): Perfect stay - Peace and quite, I slept for just one night and wished to stay more. Olivia and Fabio warmly welcomed me, providing exceptional hospitality. My lodge “Black Iguana” was stunning, meticulously designed with a beautiful walk-in shower. The mattress was king and super comfy. The garden is beautiful and full of trees. The public beach is just a 2-minute walk away, and i was the only person on the beach so I fully enjoyed.
I look forward to my return for a week-long stay, especially to see the new pool that was under construction during my stay. The attention to detail, Olivia and Fabio, made my short visit memorable. Highly recommended for a delightful getaway!
