Guest Reviews
- Bianka (10/5): Whole my family enjoyed stay in Rome:) - the best thing about this apartment was location! really good one.
- Toni (2/5): Pile of dust - Location The apartment was very dusty and dark. I booked this apartment for another family and I was so embarrassed. I even asked them to come and stay with my family.
- Mila (2/5): Very poor - The host company was rude, there was no hot water and had to call them numerous time to get someone to fix it. We had same towels for 5 days. I asked for more towels, was told no.
The sofa in the living room is very uncomfortable. Two pubs below and very very noisy.
Please avoid.
- Oleg (9/5): Great value if you are flexible - In summary, the positives outweigh the negatives at the price we paid, which made it a great value. Would stay there again and recommend it to others. But comparison shop to make sure the price remains good, and you need to be OK with the poor state of maintenance.
Liked:
Location. Even though it is somewhat distant from many attractions, it is right on a local bus hub and close to a metro station, which makes it easy to get to many places (buses are cheap - take advantage). If you don’t mind an extra 15-20 minute walk, it is very pleasant as you pass by St. Peters and Castel Sant Angelo. It is certainly close to the Vatican Museum and St. Peters, which would be helpful to you at most on one day of your stay if you are a typical tourist. Also, there are many stores of all kinds and restaurants/cafes nearby.
Space. The apartment was quite large by Roman standards, and there was plenty of space to spread out. The layout of the apartment was good.
Windows were good, which is far from a given in Rome. They helped a lot with the noise, which is omnipresent in the city in general and certainly at that location.
Generally, there was everything we needed: washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric tea kettle (no coffee machine), plates and utensils, two large cups, and an abundance of glasses. Large dining table, plenty of chairs, second table/desk.
The view from the living room was great! State of maintenance is the main concern. The apartment has not been cared for or thoroughly cleaned in a long time. Everything was aged, dilapidated, some things barely holding together (windows excluded - they were good).
There was a persistent smell of sewage in the main bathroom. It varied in intensity; opening the bathroom window helped, but did not solve the problem. This was a plumbing issue without an easy fix, so we didn’t bring it up and just lived with it.
The shower was terrible. Top shower was unusable, and the handheld had inconsistent water temperature. Caulk around the glass was black. The shower was definitely in the barely usable category.
Then minor things. WIFI didn’t reach into the bedroom (worked fine in the living room). Half of the light bulbs were out and light switches were confusing. One of the chairs was broken. Blankets were dirty. We heard the neighbors through the living room wall. The elevator stops between the floors, so steps are required no matter what, and you can’t call the elevator from upstairs. The entrance door opening was 10 inches - couldn’t pass with a backpack on, only sideways. There was a special tool to open the second half of the door, but we didn’t attempt it. General state of repair: peeling paint, cracks, scratches, wear and tear on everything.
The apartment had a lot of stuff (furniture, decor, etc.), but cleaning was done only to the basic surfaces. Many things just were not clean and it gave a general feeling of dirtiness.
Note that we were there in the winter. It was warm inside and we didn’t need to heat. The windows were closed (except for the bathroom). In the summer, it would certainly be loud with the windows open especially in the living room. AC was only in the bedroom, which faced the inside of the building. The living room faced the square, which, in addition to the traffic, serves as a nightly garbage collection point, and there was a lively restaurant-bar downstairs open till late.
