- Malcolm (6/5): Quiet bush location but ...... - no breakfast but near a nice hotel for dinner. Bedding was unsatisfactory - not natural fibres. TV very difficult to work. No wifi. Perhaps the most challenging were the dangerous steps up to the building.
- Mark (9/5): - Beautiful house
Great natural environment
Great fireplace
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent property to stay at, would recommend - Excellent facilities all round. Great location and very warm
- Irena (8/5): - The house had everything what was needed and beyond. It was a bit tight with one bathroom but we managed well

- Q7777777 (10/5): amazing stay for astrophotography right in the mid of wildness - very nice house and right in the middle of the wildness of tasmania.
I did a whole night of astrophotography and it was an amazing experience - zero light polution and just right outside of the house
the only slight issue is that I arrived after sunset and it was a little bit of confusing to find the place and the drive way is very close to another house and I went straight into a private property and missed my turn.
Overall love it
- Geoffrey (10/5): Comfortable home in a tranquil setting. - Clean, comfortable, well equipped and maintained Walking distance to a nice hotel with good meals.
Resident wallabies grazing in the yard in the evenings was a nice touch.
Very peaceful. Nothing
- Timm (9/5): Highly recommended accommodation in peaceful surroundings (including curious kangaroos) - The location is fantastic. Kangaroos were around the house during breakfast and dinner. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is plenty of space in the living room. We were very pleased withe the washing machine. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. The house cooled down very much at night, and it did not seem to be possible to use the fireplace (which was not cleaned from previous use). But that is the only thing that can be mentioned here.
- Kristy (8/5): Cozy highlands escape. - Quiet location, cozy and spacious living space with new bathroom. Good value for money. Small bedrooms with no space to put suitcases. Not enough plugs in rooms. Couldn’t get TV working. Lock box was hard to open. Stairs onto deck uneven and difficult for my elderly mother in law to use.
- Smits (7/5): - There was no firewood cut for the firepkace in the house. There was some larger pieces however they were too large and also too green . We did try to chop some pieces smaller however the pieces were too green too split. Very disappointing.

- HILDE (9/5): Whaw - In de natuur, mooie accommodatie, goed uitgerust , mogelijkheid om een buiten vuurtje te maken, kangoeroes

- EMMANUELLE (6/5): A lovely space and location, though it was too cold for our comfort. - What we liked
We booked through Booking.com, which we highly recommend — great service and, in our experience, better than Airbnb.
We loved the open space, with a large kitchen–living area and a fireplace. The small outdoor smoking shed with its incredible views was a real highlight. We also appreciated the many plants inside — the décor is lovely and the place feels very welcoming.
The owner was responsive after hours and helped guide us in locating the accommodation. What we didn’t like
The lack of clarity regarding the address made arrival difficult, and the pouring rain certainly didn’t help! There is no sign on the dirt road to indicate the accommodation. We stopped where Google Maps directed us and recognised the house from the website photos, but it turned out to be the wrong property.
The house was very cold, particularly the tiled bathroom floor. There was only a small oil heater, which was not sufficient to warm the entire space, along with a freestanding fireplace. Unfortunately, we didn't find the instructions on how to use the fireplace, and it took us quite some time to locate the extension cord needed to run the fan. By then, we were all too cold and tired to persist and went straight to bed.
- Cresswell (10/5): Absolutely beautiful - We absolutely loved this gorgeous airbnb. All the little extras made it feel like a home away from home. The fire place was a perfect touch especially on those chilly nights. This place was the perfect end to our amazing holiday in Tasmania. The only thing that I would like to mention is that it shares the same number as the neighbour so therefore when googling the address it brings up the wrong property. I thought the key lock was a little difficult to open and lock on departure.
- Robyn (9/5): Enjoyable stay in lovely house with everything you needed. - Location was brilliant. Accommodation very comfortable. Suggestion: the key lock needs attention as very difficult to open needed extreme force.
- Garry (10/5): Comfortable airbnb.clean and well presented - Great location to break up our trip Bit hard to find at first but all good
- Kylie (6/5): Cute cottage inside. Love the layout and very comfortable for a family to stay. Pub dinner was sensational! - Lounge and kitchen area is lovely. Beds were very squeaky. Inside of washing machine was pretty dirty.

- Peter (10/5): Clean, comfortable, good value stay. - Very clean and modern home with well provisioned kitchen and comfortable lounge and dining areas. Great location (close to pub) and central for Great Lake activities. Nothing comes to mind.
- Stephanie (9/5): Super, lovely ambience. Highly recommended. - Location was absolutely stunning. The bathroom was amazing and the rooms a good size and comfortable. Pleasing extras like blankets etc available. Nice additional touches like games, DVD's books and even knitting. A very personal touch was present in the home. Everything you needed was there and there is a nice restaurant just down the road with excellent food if you don't fancy cooking. Wish we had longer there as we were only there one night. A perfect place to be at one with nature and relax. A Wallaby complete with Joey in pouch was right there on the track outside of the property. The only criticism was that it was very cold. There is no heating excepting the open fire. This works wonderfully but it takes time to cut kindling (with the provided axe) and get it started then it was lovely and cosy. In fairness there were two mobile heaters electric and fan but they were small and only heated the small area around them. There were also plenty of blankets to wrap up in in the lounge and all bedrooms. The bedrooms were cold as was the bathroom in the morning. A top tip for the owner might be an electric blanket on the beds. We had these in two other properties we stayed in in the area and they made a big difference.
- Jon (10/5): - Decoración, fuego, servicios en la casa Un poco fría por la noche en invierno
- David (10/5): excellent accomodation in a very remote area - Very well appointed, everything you need and more ... loved the decor, especially the highland cattle! The house was warm and welcoming when we arrived; an absolute surprise!
- Jenny (10/5): An amazing cottage in a pretty location - The most beautiful little home in an amazing location
- Brian (9/5): Only stayed the one night but loved the experience … we had sunshine, rain, sleet, snow & saw lots of wildlife! - Good location … full wood box & wood heater … open living space … bathroom facilities & communication. Nothing comes to mind … we enjoyed this property
- Marianne (8/5): Lovely area, great pub for meals. - Nice house in a beautiful setting. There was no kindling or paper for the fire and only 3 very large chunks of wood in the firewood basket. We had to borrow smaller pieces of wood from a neighbouring property to start the fire.
- Lindsey (10/5): - Lovely cosy cottage with a wonderful fireplace
Loved the knitting basket!
- Maureen (10/5): Not long enough - Clean ,modern ,well maintained No criticism ,but as 4women 70 plus ,it would have been great to have kindling and wood split a bit smaller for quick starting and heating output.
To old to split wood

- Daniel (9/5): Great stay would do again - Seclusion with a nice view of the bush

- Danielle (8/5): Inside is better than out - great spot for small group to stay. - The setup was lovely and cosy. We had everything we needed there. Although it was tricky to get to as there were 2 different houses with the same number. The rooms were very squishy and the bed squeaks loudly with every shift and shuffle. The frames are loose maybe. Also the crockery was coated in dust so we needed to wash dishes before dining.
- Bruce (8/5): Enjoyable stay. Great walks and countryside. Different landscape. - Cosy and warm cottage with a good wood fire. Bathroom with laundry and kitchen recently renovated. Front steps to the entry deck in poor condition (not level) and need urgent replacement. See photo.
Inside too cluttered with decor items with instructions that they should not be moved - Allowed no room for guest items.
Outside areas need tidying up.
Had to cut wood for fire - none precut.
- Erin (8/5): Very good -
- Tanya (3/5): Too cold to stay in winter - It had a comfy decor It was freezing cold. We arrived at 3pm and the fire wasn’t set in winter. So 4 women aged 50’s and 60’s had to chop wood and source kindling. It took hours to get remotely warm. It was so cold that we headed off to bed! No electric blankets. We left the tiny heater on in bathroom, but was so cold that none of us dared to shower in night or morning. Beds only had thin doonas so we used all the spare blankets. Neighbours were noisy in middle of night with loud music. If it hadn’t been cold we may have enjoyed our time together. Suggest owner needs to invest in electric heating.
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (8/5): Very good - Well equipped house
Homely forest cabin style
Plenty of space for up to 6 in x3 double beds
Pub within walking distance
Cosy fireplace and plenty of firewood to keep the place warm throughout the stay
- Garry (10/5): Had a great stay - Beautifully decorated comfy bed wood fire nice and toasty. Peaceful and quiet Not a big fan of the mounted deer head. The lock box was hard to open
- Dee (9/5): Superb - Very cosy and homely
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Fireplace
Ambience
Homely feeling
- Susiepin (10/5): Wilderness Wonder - Spotlessly clean, lots of little extras supplied, fully equipped, wood supplied for fire, top quality throughout.
We even had a good snowfall on our first night. As we don't get snow at home in WA, we were awed.
- Peter (7/5): Very happy with price, accommodation and staff. - I didn't have breakfast No problems
- Luke (9/5): Superb - Miena is an unusual little town, lots of little shacks dotted around the place with limited fencing if any. As we rolled into this accommodation it looks very much like a little country shack, and I was unsure if we were at the right house or not as it didn't match the photos I had seen online.
But soon as we were able to open the lockbox I knew we were at the right place, and as soon as we opened the door and entered, it no longer felt like a shack but a beautiful cozy home. We were very happy with the accommodation.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Gillian (8/5): Very good -
- Alexis (7/5): Good - The fire Tv was hard to operate and connectivity was tricky.
- Gjw (7/5): House cluttered and messy - Adequate accommodation. Location fine. Washer and dryer both filled with partly done washing; fridge and some cutlery and dishes dirty; BBQ dirty. House cluttered and messy
- Anne (10/5): Perfect stay on a trip to Tasmania. - This was the most beautiful place we have stayed at at such a great price. There was nothing that we needed. The frig even had milk, and other items. We were so impressed with this home we could have stayed longer but we were on a timed trip. There is a restaurant right down the hill which was fabulous.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fran (9/5): If you are looking for a truly comfy yet slightly remote stay, this is the place for you. - This house provided a very cosy and inviting Christmas day for the three of us. A lovely fire to build for the cold evenings, and nicely situated off the main drag, so no passing traffic. Lounge furnishings great with very comfy couch and armchairs. Kitchen facillities great with huge fridge/freezer, dining table etc. Beds quite comfortable. Large well appointed outside deck. As is a little remote/which we enjoyed, needed plenty of supplies, but local store close by and well stocked. Close to two pubs, good meals, but no bottleshop. All in all a great getaway and would highly recommend. Would love to go again in Winter for the snow. The railing on the deck was quite loosely fitted, and would not stand a person leaning on it...but this should be an easy fix to bring it up to safety standard.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (8/5): Very good - Perfect for landing after the Overland track. Has everything (except WiFi) hard after a week off work! Highly recommend this house
- Robert (7/5): Great out door fire place, very peaceful and quiet. - Make sure there was a full gas bottle for the BBQ and a spare bottle just in case the other ran out..
Ensure that there was sufficient wood for the inside fire and that it was a size that could be chopped easily
- Evelyn (8/5): Very good - The house is comfortable and nicely decorated so feels homy. Toys were bonus when you were traveling with small children. Under 10 minutes drive to the Great Lake.
- Andrew (10/5): Quite, with everything you need - Quite, with great fire. Nothing
- Yan (10/5): all good - all good no
- Lanka (7/5): Good -
- Donna (10/5): It is really beautiful place to stay winter or summer -
