• Helen (8/5): Great location, well equipped, walking distance to the beach and pub. - Location was amazing. Place was very clean and tidy. Nice little touches and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils. It was incredibly hot and as the ceilings are quite high the fans didn’t cook the place enough. Probably need a pedestal fan for each room to make it comfortable for summer stays.

• peter (10/5): Comfortable, welcoming and well provisioned. Over all a relaxing stay in a great location - There is a real welcoming feel to the property. This is because the host has really provided a lot of thyose touches from home, - some books, some coffee, milk for when you arrive, and just those odd things that are annoying when you haven't got them. It is very comfortable and everything you might need is at your fingertips. The location is great, close to merewether Beach and the ocean pools.

Great host. - Instructions for check in were simple and communication with us prior to arrival were easy to understand. The absence of air-conditioning was tough for the first two nights (temperatures were in the mid to high 30s) but to be fair, we were aware of no air-conditioning on booking and the weather was abnormally hot for this time of year. A second bathroom would be more ideal.

• Josh (10/5): Very sorry we had to come home. Great experience! - We booked needing a one night stay in Newcastle after deciding to take a spontaneous weekend trip. The apartment was extremely clean, modern and proudly presented. Location is sublime, being minutes walk from some of the most amazing beaches, cafes and restaurants in Newcastle. No thought has been spared by the owner, Cal; not to mention, comfortable and fresh linen and towels. Our tribe will be back and next time, for longer. That the beds were more comfortable than my own at home. All jokes aside, we cannot fault this apartment.

So close to the beach and restaurants at Mereweather. The little touches made it a joy to stay here. The reading room was an amazing space to unwind with the ocean breeze, making it relaxing. Definitely recommend.

It's just across the road from one of Newcastle's main beaches. We visited during a heatwave and while the ceiling fans were good, some aircon would have been nice.
• Victoria (9/5): Great location, gorgeous well stocked apartment only a short walk to the beach. - Location was great - a short walk to the beach and a short drive to everwhere else. The apartment was recently renovated, beautifully styled and stocked with everything you could think of - condiments in the kitchen, sunscreen, beach towels, coffee machine, toiletries. Only one bathroom but well organised and worked perfectly for 6 of us. Beautifully decorated with interesting nick nacks and large real plants. 2 bedrooms for couples and a separate lounge room with a couch and some fold out chairs and mattressses. And a proper separate dining room, which was great for a group of 6. Fans in the bedroom were great and if you opened the windows you got a nice cross breeze. I would stay there again. Entrance to building was a bit off putting - shabby carpet, however once in the flat it was perfect. The bedding arrangments in the lounge room took a bit of working out - would be perfect for children. In the end we had one adult on a mattress on the floor and the other on the couch. I would think twice about staying in peak summer without airconditioning.

• Ksenia (6/5): the high price does not correspond to the quality and amenities offered, for 50% of the price it will be just right. - Location - for us it was a top priority, namely: proximity to the ocean, spacious apartments so that no one rubs against each other, isolation so as not to see the crowds of people that are usually found in hotels. Good kitchen equipment, quite comfortable mattresses and a good TV. These are apartments in a residential building, the building is located in such a way that there is a roadway from the windows on all sides, at night it is quiet from the street, but from 5 am cars start driving around and, since the windows are not double-glazed, the noise from the street can be heard. Also, for some reason unknown to us, the neighbors below turned on either an exhaust fan or some other device at night, from which there was a continuous hum every night, exactly from 11 pm to 5 am (when, apparently, they set off for work). This prevented us from getting enough sleep and was unnerving. The hum was audible in the small bedroom, but on the third night, exactly after we contacted the accommodation facility with a request to eliminate it, it became audible in the large bedroom as well. Since I am allergic to dust, I notice that the cleaning was not of high quality, there was dust behind the TV, the frames and windows were all in dust, I will not even mention the cabinets. For what reason they do not leave disposable slippers and bathrobes (considering the colossal price), I also do not understand. I believe that for this money everything should be licked clean and maximum comfort should be created for the client, at least, we are accustomed to this.

• Jen (9/5): Superb - Booked in a hurry enroute driving down from Brisbane, so not much time to research, and really just looking for a bed for the night. Arrived inthe dark and rain. Building initially seemed a little old and wasnt sure what to expect. Up one flightof stairs. Imagine our surprise on entering our apartment, a beautifully and thoughtfully renovated, roomy apartment. Just lovely and would have loved to spend more time there if we werent on the road again early next morning. Lots of nice touches, even fresh milk in the fridge, almost unheard of nowadays.

• Mlr04 (10/5): Perfect from the second we open the door. - From the moment we opened the front door, we found that our accommodation was super clean, smelled beautiful and really homely. It was like being in a Vogue magazine. The art work is absolutely beautiful which adorn the apartment walls. We were shocked by the awesome well stocked kitchen and appreciated and loved the complementary bathroom toiletries which were of the highest quality and of course, environmentally friendly. The fluffy soft white towels and crisp fresh bed linen were so much nicer than when we stayed at Hilton Hotel. With only a short 1 minute stroll, we reached the most magnificent beaches and spectacular scenery. We found ourselves getting up early to walk along the stretch of pathway along the beach front and enjoying as much fresh clean air as possible and of course afterward indulging in a leisurely coffee and breakfast at the kiosk afterwards. Our host Cal was extremely helpful and only a message away if needed. Cal ensured everything was absolutely perfect for our stay. Definately, we classify Cal as the 'Ultimate Superhost' for sure. Can't wait to stay again. The only thing we didn't like.......was leaving. We wish we were there longer.
