Guest Reviews
- Paula (5/5): - Beautiul place, location, pool, view Noise at night, towels, cleaningness
- Janine (9/5): -

- Jane (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Great position and loved the pool! Took a while to realise we could use the bar area
- Mack (10/5): - 10/10 experience, amazing views of Hollywood hills, would definitely recommend to anybody visiting California I will be back here soon.
- Javier (10/5): Amazing views! Easy check in! Comfortable place ! - LOVED the property! Beds are SUPER comfortable and super easy check in process! 10 stars Floor tile in bathroom are cracked that was the only unfortunate thing
- Renae (8/5): Exceptional view - The view is INCREDIBLE and the reason for booking the room. Unfortunately it was freezing cold weather and couldn't enjoy the pool but it looked amazing Minimal supplies in kitchen, offers microwave but no cutlery. No tv. Bathroom old but clean no hot water
- Louisa (4/5): Disappointing and very basic - Located in the West Hollywood Hills, you must use a car/taxi/ride share to get to this accommodation. I would not recommend walking as the streets are extremely narrow and windy going up/down the hills and the sidewalk disappears from time to time. I would suggest it’s not very safe to walk as cars are coming around blind bends.
As the accommodation is so high up, it offers beautiful sunset/sunrise and great views.
The pool was nice and clean (though falling into disrepair slightly). I used it once during my stay just to cool down.
There was a nice patio area near the pool and another patio with outdoor seating on the lower level which was a nice place to sit in the mornings with a cup of coffee. This is a standalone house where the owner lives and there are about 4 or 5 guest suites located around the property, underneath it. You can tell that this place is still under construction as there’s construction materials lying around everywhere and unfortunately the finishes and furnishings have not been done very well and you can see lots of shortcuts have been taken.
The room itself was plain, decorated and furnished sparsely and it wasn’t particularly clean (there were visible dust bunnies). Poorly covered up holes in the wall, foam filler spilling out from the wall onto the flooring and every single door knob/handle I saw had weirdly been mounted crooked?! Not sure if that’s the quirky look they were going for on purpose but it was strange and made it feel cheaply done. Also, I was convinced the hairdryer was broken as it wasn’t working in the bathroom outlet and the switches on the hairdryer itself seemed broken but when I tried the hairdryer in an outlet in the bedroom, it worked but you could only turn it on and off by plugging and unplugging lol.
There were also things that just didn’t make sense. There was not a single chair inside the rooms so the only place to sit was on the bed? They provided coffee making facilities but no spoons? Nothing to wash the mugs once they were used? Only 3 hangers in the entire closet. There is no air conditioning either, luckily it wasn’t too hot in March but I would not recommend in the height of summer.
Finally, if you have an issue doing stairs, I would avoid this place. There are a LOT of stairs to go to and from the entrance to the guest suites and some of those stairs have been poorly finished/unsteady/have nails coming out. It’s a bit of a tripping hazard. I
f you’re looking for a basic stay then this is fine but don’t book this thinking it’s going to be a luxurious Hollywood hills experience.
- Cain (10/5): - Definitely a magnificent place to stay. The staff is incredibly attentive, and Felix is a fantastic member of the team, always looking after his guests. The place has a great view and is very close to the main streets of Hollywood. They should put out some water bottles, that would be all!
- Mindaugas (7/5): The location and the view are absolutely wonderful. Extremely poor sound insulation in the building - The location and the view are absolutely wonderful. The pool area is also very beautiful and creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. We were given a room in the lower part of the building, where the view was not the same and the pool was not visible. This is not a complaint, as we probably should have understood from the last few photos that the room would not be directly facing the pool, although this was not very clearly indicated. In any case, this was not the biggest issue.
The main problem was the extremely poor sound insulation in the building. The guests staying above us were simply walking during the night, but the noise sounded as if the house was collapsing right above our heads. We could even hear their phone vibrating on the bedside table, which clearly shows how poor the soundproofing is.
I would like to emphasize that if we had stayed on a higher floor, we probably would have rated everything 10/10. However, in our case, due to the lack of sleep caused by the noise, our overall rating — with some generosity — would be 7/10.
- Bartell (5/5): Sounded like a freight train above sunset blvd - great views, nice Hollywood Hills/Above Sunset .....close enough yet just far away.....its a windy drive up/down to get the house. Parking was good for this area. The unit was extremely noisy. I read this in other reviews, but it was much worse when I stayed there. The noise from the space above this unit, you can hear every time someone walks, jumps, moves anything above. The floor above creaks. You can also hear any flushing toilet or running water from above as the drains must run in the back wall for this apartment. The furnishings and condition were ok for the price paid. Hot water takes a very long time to get to this unit. I could not depart fast enough.
- Leslee (10/5): Relaxing, stress free stay. - The view is amazing. Sunrises. Sunset. the property manager is courteous, professional, and a genuinely nice person. We enjoyed our stay and it was nice to treat ourselves since it was a little bit out of our price range. Recommend. We wish the pool was heated. We stayed in January. Though certainly understandable.

- Ricardo (10/5): - This was a great experience i honestly didnt want to leave , the views were breathtaking whether at night or day and the guest house was super clean and comfortable felt at home. Felix made us feel very welcomed. I will definitely be staying here again Only thing that i didnt like was i had to leave lol i wish i could live here overall amazing experience
- Bochary (10/5): -
- Jamil (10/5): I had a wonderful time at this property enjoying the views and the very nice amenities - Loved the location, the views, and the helpful staff N/A
- Darren (5/5): Stunning location, let down bit lack of upkeep - Stunning location and views, however there wasn't much in the way of amenities provided. The bathroom sink was clogged, took a year to drain, pool tiles were coming apart. We did enjoy our stay though, but not worth the price. The place looked like it could do with shutting down for a few weeks to get some maintenance done. The sink didn't drain well, took about 5mins to drain for us. The pool tiles were coming apart. The room had marks over the walls which a lick of pain would quickly fix.
- Sean (10/5): Best place to stay in Los Angeles. Breathtaking views accompanied by wonderful accommodations. - Spectacular accommodations. The view and location are absolutely unmatched. Friendly and accommodating host. My new favorite place to stay when in Los Angeles. The place is nothing short of incredible. If there was anything to improve, it would be to add a microwave, and some basic utensils. As it is a bit of a trek back down in to the city from this wonderful property.
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (9/5): Superb -
- Shiralee (10/5): Scenic view out of the hustle - The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They were very quick to respond to my messages and were very helpful with my special requests. The location has a beautiful view and great to escape from the hustle but still close enough to it all. I was easily able to walk from the main part of Hollywood Boulevard, up the hill back to my room.
- Michelle (3/5): Not the Hollywood Hills fantasy I splurged for :( - Great location. Beautiful view. Very clean. Host allowed us to check in an hour early. This is not a “guest house” as described. It is part of the house with an outside entrance. We could hear every movement in the house. My son and I were very uncomfortable hearing footsteps, doors shutting, and the fact that there was a door connecting the spaces that was locked off to us but open to the other side.
Also, the description should note that the entrance is down three steep flights of outdoor stairs, making it very difficult to carry luggage.
The Hollywood Hills are mystic and gorgeous, but be prepared to parallel park against the house. Also, the road is not an outlet- do not drive past the house, there is no where to turn around. I almost got my rental car stuck against the hill.
Heed the advice about the pool. The temperature is very cold and requires 24 hours notice and a $100 fee to heat it. The pool was smaller than it appeared in photos. There was also another couple at the pool who told me they were renters. I did not appreciate that they had been smoking weed. The pool is very small to share with other renters.
- Alexis (9/5): Superb -
- Muyan (2/5): Very poor - The view A large painting suddenly fell off the wall in the middle of the night. It crashed onto the table, knocked over a sculpture and my water bottle, and made a huge mess on the floor. It was also quite dangerous. The huge painting was only hanging on a single nail — honestly, horrible and unsafe!!!!!!!!
- Tereza (9/5): Superb - The view is amazing and we liked the infinity pool
- Zhiyi (8/5): Very good - Great view, great communication, easy parking
- Kuzia (10/5): Amazing view with infinity pool - The view was amazing same as infinity pool! Room was very clean and spacious. The host was very nice and helpful. I really recommend it.
- Donny (7/5): Great overall, weird nitpicks though - The view, the balcony, the room layout, and the neighborhood were everything we hoped for The vanity was inexplicably sloped down so things could roll off and water would pool up where it couldn't reach the drain... Also the bathroom door couldn't open all the way.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - The view, the pull, bed size and cleanliness! we were gonna be in West Hollywood for a few days and this was the perfect location especially for the price! Beautiful view of the hills and really nice patio/pull! We were out and about all day so it didn’t really matter but would have been great to know if we had access to the kitchen or not (I.e for coffee etc). A bit noisy upstairs but nothing major!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saballos (8/5): Very good -
- Baruch (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): The view of Hollywood overlooking sunset blvd just a block away from the night life!! - Wow!
I’ve been using booking.com for 10+ years and am in awe! Thee most beautiful location I’ve EVER BOOKED!
Felix thank you 🙏🏾if available will ALWAYS BOOK HERE! Absolutely nothing!
- Chris (10/5): We will be going back to this property soon. Amazing location with an incredible view ! - Property Manager Felix was amazing. He gave us great instructions on finding our Guest house. Amazing view close to Hollywood Blvd and all of the local attractions, restaurants and bars. Everything was great !
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (9/5): Great two bedroom apartment in a large house, private entrance, stunning views of LA - Great location in the Hollywood Hills. Stunning views over the city. Parking in front of the house. Good communication with the host. There was a fridge and two mugs provided but no glasses, utensils or bowls. Plan accordingly.
- Howard (2/5): Very poor - I never got to check in because I asked for a room with use of the pool. After confirming my reservation I received a call from a staff member telling me that they were cancelling my reservation because the last guest had broken the door to the shower. It was after 9 when I made the reservation and I'm sure the last guest checked out at either 11 or 12 pm. Therefore the facility knew or should have known about this problem and taken it off the market.
Instead it was being marketed as available in multiple arenas of internet advertising .
Then I asked about the pool for future reference and the truth is you have to notify the facility 2 days in advance that you plan on using the pool and then pay a fee of at least 100 dollars per night to have them heat the pool.
- Lucero (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clayton (8/5): Very good -
- Johannes (9/5): Superb -
- Malachy (8/5): Worth the view - The bed was comfortable and the views were amazing The main house is connected so you could hear the family shouting
- Wenkun (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location with a great view of the city
- Irina (8/5): Very good - The views were spectacular.
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t sleep all night, because of the extremely loud party nearby that lasted all night. It stopped almost at 5 am! We were surprised that the neighbors tolerated the noise.
It was appalling.
- Memduh (9/5): We decided on this place at the last minute, but sadly only stayed one night. It was in a great location, including park -
- Adalberto (10/5): Exceptional - Location and the view.
- Jack (4/5): Turned up to the property and it hasn’t been cleaned. Gate also didn’t seem to lock correctly and felt unsecure. Floors - Views and parking were great Turned up at the property and the gate doesn’t seem to lock properly so felt unsecure throughout the trip - the gate could be opened without a code. We also turned up and the apartment hasn’t been cleaned, beds were unmade and the bins haven’t been taken out. The host managed to get this sorted within a few hours, however for the price we paid this is unacceptable. Even after the host had been to clean, it still felt very unclean, floors especially. I also noticed that the bed sheet hadn’t been changed, they simply just placed a new one on top. We were offered a bottle of wine for an apology however we don’t drink alcohol so this didn’t mean anything to us.
- Mso (10/5): Thoughtful host, lovely home, and stunning city views—thank you for a wonderful stay! - We truly enjoyed our stay! The host was very thoughtful, and the house was beautifully maintained with great attention to detail. The view was absolutely amazing, offering stunning cityscape scenery. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
- Sandra (10/5): Nice views from the hills - Comfortable bed. Beautiful views. Has all good amenities and kitchen etc. Tricky driving up the hills. Shower wasn’t that hot. Pillows very big and hard.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional - Scenery, facilities , pool and fantastic staff
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - View! And privacy.
- Jason (10/5): The Good Life! - Loved the location, view, cleanliness, furnishings, and customer service from Felix & company. Luxury at its finest. We'll definitely book again. Wish we could have spent more time there!
- Neale (10/5): Had a great stay here and would recommend to others - Excellent Host And Great Property.
- Konstantin (6/5): Pleasant - The view over Los Angeles is stunning, fun to stay in the Hollywood Hills. The overall tidiness, it felt only superficially cleaned.
Very impersonal feel, we did not once meet the owners and felt not comfortable using the pool. There‘s also a door leading to the owner‘s part of the house within the apartment which could not be locked.
In general not much practicability, i. e. no hook to hang the towels.
- Ami (9/5): Superb - Location is lovely Would have been nice to have the pool slightly heated!
- Rusinak (10/5): Hollywood Hills Heaven - From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the view from our guest house. The communication with Felix was great. He was responsive and very hospitable and kind. The bed was very comfortable and the atmosphere and the view from the pool was one of the best You can find in all of LA. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. There really wasn't anything that we didn't like, nevertheless, the only thing worth mentioning would be the bathroom/shower area could be a little more updated and fine-tuned. The little missing pool tiles could be replaced and area would be spotless.
- Sparks (5/5): Passable - the infinity pool and the view
- Edward (7/5): Epic LA views but comes at a cost… - 10/10 for views, bed, shower, pool. All awesome. Lovely kitchenette too. The noise. Very noisy people/elephants in the flat above meant we were woken up multiple times throughout the night. Building work was also taking place on the property during our stay which woke us up on day 1.
- Markson (10/5): It was an incredible stay from the welcoming to the property itself and the views were mesmerising me and my girlfriend - Absolutely stunning views
- Ali (10/5): Great - Definitely one of the best spots in LA.
Very safe area.
The view is phenomenal and I think it’s very hard to find a place like this.
Room was very clean and spacious.
Owner was very helpful.
- Ugo (10/5): A relaxing, comfortable and authenic Hollywood Hills experience. - Staying at Hollywood Hill Haven Guest House was above my expectactions. If you want an experience in the Hollywood Hills, this is it! The view from the infinity pool (perfect for the hot LA days), the pool lounge area, comfortable large King bed (in front of my window overlooking Hollywood, see pic) to the spacious shower (with amenities) and kitchen, plus plenty of parking space - over shot my expectations. Felix was a great host - responds quickly, friendly and even reaches out to you with helpful tips (e.g. parking). When I return to LA, I'll be sure to get in touch with Felix again. There are quite a few steps to get down to the guest house - okay if you're able bodied.
You can hear the guest house above walking around through the ceiling - not overly soundproof in that sense.
- Rosaura (8/5): Relaxing and great! - The location is great, the views from the room are superb too. For our 5-day stay, it was confortable and spacious. There are plenty of stairs from the street until you get to the room, so be cautious if you decide to bring heavy luggage. The pool was nice too, and the host was very responsive, polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. There was some noise coming from the house (steps that sounded on the roof of the room) very late at night and very early in the morning. It took us a while to get use to them, I guess is due to the house structure. They were loud enough to wake us up.
- Alfie (9/5): Superb -
- Aisling (10/5): Exceptional - Loved staying here - great view over LA, lovely access to small pool with LA views
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ngrmw (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional guest house with amazing views, a pool, and clean rooms. The host was attentive, and the instructions for check-in and check out were clear. We used the pool that looks over LA, hard to find any other place like that. Nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Fantastic views, lovely space and a super comfortable bed! - The views over LA were incredible, the room was very private and comfortable and pretty much everything had been thought of.
- Sari (9/5): Superb - Nice view. Pool heating would have cost 70$ per night. It had been raining and all seat covers were left to the rain so nowhere to sit the next day
- Mirjam (9/5): Great room with comfortable beds and killer view - The views are just stunning. Beds are really like comfortable and the room is spacious with high ceiling. The kitchenette could have been a bit better equipped, with proper utensils and plates. And the windows need better blinds, as the sun hits the room hard in the morning. Bring an eye mask of you’re a light sleeper.
- Alek (9/5): Superb - the most important thing here is the location and view. Both during the day and at night, it is worth looking out the window or sitting on the terrace.
The area is quiet and peaceful. Of course, you need a car, as in LA. No kitchen, if it was nice it would be nice to have a good breakfast on the terrace
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the view, the kitchenette end the little something area outside the front door. Informed me that the “guest house” is actually a room underneath another room.
I was under the impression that this whole how was separate.
- Austeja (10/5): Excellent stay in the hills with nice privacy from main house - Beautiful skyline view of Los Angeles! Nothing- perfect stay
- Ben (9/5): A fantastic stay in a beautiful location. - Great location and amazing views! Just be aware, there’s no TV and there are lots of stairs but that’s to be expected.
- Chen (10/5): Nice view and beautiful room - Owner is very helpful and reactive even after 10 pm
Room is well decorated and clean
- Ivo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (9/5): Most positive, a do-over - The hospitality and attention to my needs
The view was grand A bit too many stairs
- Anthony (10/5): A perfect experience, I will definitely come back with my friends and highly recommend it to them. - This homestay has absolutely beautiful scenery, offering the best views of Los Angeles. It’s also well-located, with just about a 5-minute drive to bars at night. The host is very welcoming. Plus, there’s a heated infinity pool. I will come back again.
- Jiang (10/5): Strongly recommended - As someone who has stayed at this charming guest house, I want to share the wonderful experience I had. From the moment I stepped into this peaceful haven, the stunning views from the Hollywood Hills had me completely enchanted. Every window offered a living painting of the Los Angeles skyline. The decor in the room was a perfect blend of modern and comfy, and the king-sized bed made my nights blissfully restful.
I absolutely loved lounging on the patio chairs, soaking in the serenity of the garden against the bustling LA backdrop.
I'm giving this guest house top marks, not just for its beauty and comfort, but for the unique LA experience it provided. I highly recommend it to anyone—whether you're seeking peace or urban adventure, this is the dream spot you're looking for. Nothing
- Dr. (10/5): Super view, quite and majestic place - Super location on hill with excellent view of city. Located in posh and exclusive area yet near enough to key locations of tourist interest.
Quite & scenic location with super sunshine for most of the time
- Cinthia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, gorgeous. .
- Byron (10/5): Fantastic views and location. - Location and views! Check out time was a little early for the late check in
- Tatjana (10/5): Amazing views and beautiful property. - Views, views, views!!! Comfy and spacious room with everything you need. Very quiet and relaxing. High ceilings and a lot of space. Amazing balcony. Was hard to get a taxi on the way down. For some reason Uber kept cancelling on us, perhaps they didn’t want to drive up the hills.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Memorable, I hope to come back and stay here again. - The location couldn’t be better and the check in instructions were great. I wish I could stay longer to be able to use the pool. The pool looks spectacular. The art on the wall was inspirational. We went to the high end stores to look for scarves to replicate it. There are no plates, bowls or forks and spoons available. Just two wine glasses and a bottle opener which came in handy. There were no blackout shades on the windows so you get woken up by the sun shining directly into your eyes. Bring an eye mask.
