Guest Reviews
- Bronwyn (8/5): Lovely historic house. - Lovely historic house. Record player was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the log fire. Walk-in wardrobe in main bedroom was good too. Mattress in the main bedroom was a bit too soft for our liking. Fan in the ensuite bathroom didn't appear to work.
- Lottie (5/5): Nice place but did not appreciate hidden costs. - It's a 2 bedroom place that allows you to setup both beds even if there is only 2 people staying (light sleepers or sleep apnoea etc). When we changed and had 4 people staying it was suddenly an extra $140 per night. There was nothing extra that was worth an extra $140. Just a cash grab.
- Robyn (9/5): Very relaxing - Lovely old cottage Would be more cosy with a mat in the lounge area.
- Joanne (10/5): - Beautiful property so comfy loved the record player and the great selection of records
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Helen (10/5): Lovely ambience and comfort in the heart of McLaren Vale - Lovely historic property
Good central location
Pool for hot days
Well equipped kitchen
Quiet location Nothing - it was all good
- Rosie (10/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Fabulous! I would love to stay there again if possible. - Gorgeous old cottage with lots of character. Plenty of space and thoughtful host who left a nice bottle of wine and some snacks for us. We enjoyed eating out as well as eating in. A few bit more crockery and tea towels would have been helpful. (We had to raid the drawers in another room to locate tea towels). And some smaller plates and bowls for toast and cereal in the morning would have been good. And steak knives for the BBQ. But otherwise it was terrific. Loved having a dishwasher and coffee machine and well stocked. Much appreciated.
Ooh, one more thing. There are red back spiders outside. To the left of the door for the old cottage. I think they are living in the ceiling/awning cracks. We saw at least 3 up there or coming down. They didn’t bother us at all, but just in case there are kids around..

- donald (9/5): macclaren vale is a lovely spot and cole-brook cottage is great place to stay - exellabeennt location overall a very nice place been a older home the natural light in the house was poor
- Ian (9/5): fantastic property with a tonne of charm -
- Madison (10/5): A charming cottage with lots to enjoy - Great location, large cottage with excellent charm and facilities, pool and bbq were fantastic
- Neale (7/5): We loved the history and location of the house, the bed was comfortable just very low to the ground. We enjoyed our sta - The property was in a great location. Clock on stove/oven didn’t work which meant you couldn’t set it to use the oven, so no operating oven.
Was very dark, not enough lights
Not enough chairs for 4 people to sit comfortably in the lounge room, main bathroom was freezing underfoot and could use a big floor covering to help with the coldness.

- Petra (7/5): The house is beautiful, great location - The property was beautiful and great location The property advised it came with breakfast, when arrived there were none so contacted the owner and was advised they changed it. I told them I was disappointed as that was one of the reasons for booking. She did bring breakfast eventually but made me uncomfortable to have to chase it up. No communication regarding the change. Also the Fire place could have been repaired as when you light the wood all the smoke was coming into the room therefore we had to stop using it.
- Janette (9/5): Short but sweet , definitely come back & stay again 😀 - Beautiful cottage, with everything we needed. An excellent location to Main Street & surrounding wineries.
- Marilyn (7/5): Good -
- Harriet (5/5): Great location and potential, execution could be improved. - Location and potential. I read reviews about the breakfast being good, but we were only provided with milk, butter, cereal and coffee. We had to fix all the saucepan handles as they were loose and dangerous. We could not turn the exhaust fan on or the light off. There were no dish cloths. There was no gas in the bbq so we could not use it.
- Josephine (10/5): Beautiful house very tastefully decorated & furnished. -
- Brendan (8/5): Very good -
- Tirunelveli (8/5): Very good - Historical cottage with modern plumbing & facilities. Central location. Well-equipped kitchen. A Drier for clothes would have been helpful.

- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ray (9/5): A beautiful comfortable roomy cottage in a perfect location - The Cottage felt like a home away from home. It had lots of space both inside and out with a great choice for breakfast and very responsive hosts when we had a couple of questions . Would happily recommend the property to anyone. Only one very small thing in that the key was hard to get into the front door

Pool needs attention - as it was winter we did not use it.
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Very central location made it easy to walk to everything we wanted. Comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Pool and bikes were a lovely addition we didn't manage to figure out how to use netflix on the tv, but didn't want to bother host about it.
- Pamela (9/5): Superb - All great thanks

- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Luke (9/5): Superb -
- Joan (9/5): Superb - We were not sure which door to use and we couldn’t unlock the front door
- Glenda (9/5): Retreat amongst nature - Loved the eclectic nature. Wonderful rural location. The native animals and birds. Outdoor amongst the trees . Loved sitting in the sauna looking out at the trees. Shower and toilet in a water tank was novel and enjoyable. Second bedroom was a bit aqueezy but was lovely having a king bed. Walk to toilet a night a bit of an adventure but nothing to be concerned about
- Toula (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (9/5): Great location and beautiful setting - Beautiful setting and spacious area. Was not clear of the attached second property at the time of the booking. We thought it was one property only.
- Trudi (7/5): Good -
- The (10/5): Beautiful comfortable stay in a historic cottage - Elena is a great communicative host and the place was spotless and beautiful. Tiny doors. Very cute. It is near a main road so the traffic noise was a little bothersome on the weekday mornings
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Owen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Lovely place with plenty of space. The outside area would be wonderful on a balmy evening.
