Guest Reviews
- Rachel (6/5): Close to the Canada line for airport & city, not much else to recommend. - The room was spacious The room was hot, the beds were hard, the facilities were there, but not well signed (there were no labels on cupboards and no instructions, except for the garbage). There was a “you are intruding” atmosphere, it wasn’t welcoming at all.
- Victor (5/5): Wouldn't recommend. - They had the hardest bed I have ever slept on and I am now 74 years old
- Dewan (7/5): Good -
- Cabaltera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Easy access to the Canada Metro line to the airport and city centre via either Oakridge or Langara. - For us the location worked well as an easy walk to two metro stations and the Van Dusen Gardens. The room was very clean, shower and bath facilities all excellent. A quiet atmosphere within the building with about 4/5 of the 8 rooms being occupied. For others the spacious communal kitchen/diner and living room could be useful. Although not an issue for us, others may find the lack of supermarket and places to eat an issue. Similarly, we had no concerns regarding the development work in the streets nearby, but others may find this noisy.
- Brian (8/5): Only there for Ont full day,but enjoyed my stay and touring Vancouver. - Very nice and clean property No air condition. No restaurants close by.Having to climb stairs with walking cane.
- Yaoming (10/5): Wonderful! - Close to the subway station, richmond, and the airport Nothing
- Berdallo (9/5): Its excellent for short term travellers, you can really rest well. - Its in a quiet area, the place was clean and well maintained None
- Harold (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (4/5): Overcharged hidden $100 fee - The place was nice and clean and quaint I was overcharged $100 for hidden fees that were not stated on the website or documented at all. I chose this location because I couldn't afford to stay in a hotel room for the price and was told it would be under $70 a night but I was charged $180. Left me with no money because I budgeted the amount I was told. I messaged The owner and inform them No response back
- Knisley (7/5): Good -
- He (4/5): Disappointing -
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Korkomas (5/5): Passable -
- Cam (7/5): Suburban Convenience - Situated in pleasant suburb, convenient for the metro.
Washing machine and tumble dryer available. Withholding property address and access arrangements until last minute. Emphasis on penalties for violating the rules.
- Lin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oleksandr (7/5): Good -
- Winifred (9/5): Pleased - Clean, good location, nice house Coffee available
- Mehdi (10/5): Exceptional - Tidiness, cleanliness, smooth instruction
- Bobadilla (8/5): Very good -
- Eleanore (6/5): Pleasant - Despite some of the recent reviews the room, private bathroom, sheets and towels were all clean for my stay. Each room has its own key and the code for the front door is easy enough to use. The fridge was large and really new with sections pre labelled for each room. They have obviously done renovations on the place so it would be nice for the hosts to update the images to accurately reflect the layout and rooms. The kitchen from a distance looks fine but it was a mess to use, no oven or grill, all the cooking equipment needs to be updated, I have had better kitchens in hostels. There was also massive works being done on a building a few houses down, it was extremely loud from very early in the morning and the street was blocked so getting my luggage to and from the building was difficult. This work was not mentioned at any point despite the constant barrage of messages I received. I don't think luxurious is the correct word to describe this stay.

- Dallas (3/5): I got to my room and there was people on my bed and room wasnt ready, I was in the shower and the woman knocked on my do -
- Janneke (6/5): Pleasant -
- Greavsey (4/5): Adequate if workmen not there - No knowledge of which room we were in on arrival but reasonably quick response (no staff on site). Workmen making noise for most of the time we were there. Bedsheet was so wrinkled. Noisy bed. Currently awaiting answer to triple charge for the stay, possibly a Booking.com issue rather than accommodation but don't know.
- Varesh (2/5): “The late check-in process was poorly handled, and I had to wait outside until 3 AM. The cleanliness was satisfactory bu - I like the design Despite informing the hotel multiple times that I would arrive between 1-2 AM, no one was available to assist me. My calls and messages went unanswered, and I was left outside until 3 AM.
- Jasvir (9/5): Superb -
- Nikola (7/5): Good share house with cooking and laundry facilities, not too far from city by train - Mostly clean, however kept finding dark hair (? From previous guest). Shoes are requested to be removed on entering the home.
Safe location. Secure keypad access to the home. Own key to bedroom door. Easy 10ish min walk to train station, which goes directly to the city centre, however still a bit of a journey.
I didn’t use the kitchen facilities (apart from microwave) but appeared to have most basic items. There was coffee available.
Has good and quick laundry facilities with laundry products. Nothing overly concerning, but may be helpful for future guests.
- Mattress was firm, may impact some people.
- Inability to store luggage, which is a shame given how big the house was with free space.
- My room was noisey due to the ?heating/gas/electrical box in the cupboard.
- No biggie but a heads up about the construction work would’ve been helpful, given it impacted access to the train station and one of the walkway paths was closed.
- Ian (1/5): The dirtiest room I have ever rented - It’s was a nice big house The room was so filthy we spent almost three hours cleaning it before we could comfortably stay there. We found, food, tampon applicators, clothes, broken glass from drug pipes and more under the bed. The bathroom was gross with pubic hair and grim every where. We took videos and sent them to the property management. I hope you see this review before booking.
- Brakoaa (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lyn (7/5): Very expensive for what was provided. - Located in a quiet street in a suburban area. The place was very clean Too far from any good restaurants (45 minute walk).
While the bed was comfortable the sheets couldn’t be tucked in and kept slipping off the bed. The room was very small.
- Parrott (9/5): Superb - Cool concept, and really pretty inside!
- Christian (3/5): Poor - Well equipped kitchen, good location, relatively close to downtown, easy sky train access. Quite area (we had a cunstruction site at the time of visit, but this was only temporary) The house has nothing that justifies the "luxury" in the description. Cleanliness was not existing, blood stains in the bath room, dirty toilet rim, dust and dirt, hairs from former guests everywhere. The Host did not react in any helpful way, when approached with this. They simply put us on hold. Booking.com itself immedeatly offered a refund after they saw the pictures.
- Kyran (8/5): Very good -
- Yuriy (8/5): Very good - Great location, 4min from Skytrain. Clean rooms and common areas. High ceilings, well equipped kitchen, nice furniture, free laundry, easy access to the house and room. Very good option for Vancouver.
- Pullarao (9/5): Superb - It's clean and pleasant Nothing
- Bademba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasvir (9/5): Superb -
- Harika (8/5): Good value and pleasant - The property was clean and was in good neighbourhood. Parking was a bit problematic, and the staff hasn’t mentioned where to leave our footwear .
- Irina (10/5): Very good - Very nice clean house, quiet neighborhood, close to subway station, only 7-10 minutes walk, easy to get to downtown and to airport. No any supermarket around, no restaurants or cafes, if you are planning to cook bring food from some other stores.
- Yasha (7/5): Good - The room was nice, and the staff was friendly. The parking situation was terrible—no spots near the house, and we had to park six blocks away. To make it worse, it rained during our stay, which made everything more inconvenient.
- Roland (7/5): Comfortable accommodation, location not as good as it might seem. - The location is convenient for the Canada Line (fast transit to airport and downtown). The room and bed are spacious and comfortable. The check in and check out times are quite generous. The kitchen is well-equipped. Contrary to the location description in the listing, there is only one restaurant nearby and no shops (the nearby Oakridge shopping mall which shows up on Google Maps is closed for redevelopment.)
There is no direct contact with the owner and the notices posted around the property are somewhat passive-aggressive and unclear.
- Rommel (10/5): Exceptional - The internet is okay. Maybe next time it can be made even faster.
- Raman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iara (8/5): Very good - The house is beautiful and has many nice places. Everything clean. The wifi is very good. The room is very spacious and has a large window with a very nice view. In the spectacular king bed, all cotton!!! Someone in the house started making noise at 6 in the morning. Going down and up the steps of the stairs with loud steps and making noise in the kitchen too. I traveled all day yesterday and I was really tired, I would have preferred to rest a little more.

- Derek (2/5): Stay somewhere else as luxurious stops at the front room - The entrance was very nice, the bathroom was Ok, the laundry facilities were good. After finding the property (the Lat/Longs) are incorrect so I annoyed a local resident and it is very difficult to see much at 9 pm, I tried to enter the property with the pass code supplied, this did not work, I did not have a phone or internet so this made it very difficult but had the help of a resident in the property who gave me the code for the lock from the landlord (Not once did we see her/he and the finding the property and getting in took around an hour after a long flight). Once in the property we scaled the stairs only to find the picture did not really match the reality as it was very small (Rm 5), and there were 8 rooms in total but I think this was the smallest and the rooms had paper thin walls and there was a building site outside. The room was dusty in places and there was no chair, desk, and no room for our 2 cases and hand luggage. The kitchen had a coffee machine that actually had mould growing in some left coffee so that did not get used and there was only instructions on what we couldn't do everywhere. The property is in a residential area so there was not many eateries near by so used the kitchen but trying to dry the cutlery and dishes was hit and miss as there was no clean drying cloth. The bed was 4' (queen size I believe so small) quite uncomfortable, it actually gave me back ache after just one night so I was on pain killers for the duration of thankfully only 3 nights. We were not the only ones that had issues as another individual had to make an international call to get the code, Room 8 is actually off the kitchen, and some else turned up and the room had not been cleaned (they stayed in a different room in the end after being promised it would be cleaned), overall very poor and not very well looked after.
- Schmid (4/5): Disappointing - It was kind of a hostel setting and the other guests were nice. Kitchen and living room are well equipped. Where do we start...the biggest problem was the communication with the host, which was neither helpful nor appropriate. The directions to the house are not the one you will get over the booking site - the correct address will be sent to you via message (do not just copy the address stated in the description). Our room was not cleaned when we arrived and we did not get another room until almost 9 pm when we insisted repeatedly that we could not sleep in a room where someone else has clearly slept the night before. We had to change rooms again the next morning and had to leave our luggage in the dirty room - unlocked because there is only one key per room and the cleaning staff would not have been able to get in the room otherwise. On repeatedly asked questions whether the room was cleaned in the meantime we did not get a helpful response of the owner. We did finally get our room cleaned in the end where we slept during the the second night. This room was ok clean. The coffee machine however had mold already...
Sure, it can happen that a room is not cleaned but how this situation was handled was exhausting, infuriating and absolutely not worth the money we spent. This could be a nice accommodation with a little bit of care but it was absolutely not.
- Adam (6/5): Unsafe door codes, but safe sex - The price was more right then Bob Barker. Wasn't a huge fan of standing outside the front door for 3 hours waiting for someone to give me proper door code. Arrived at midnight but want able to get into bedroom or house until almost 4am and only because I took a shot guessing a few number combos and got it right by luck. Also the used condom wrapped inside a ball of toilet paper and the condom packaging in the bed was not very welcoming.
- Sunil (2/5): Very poor -
- Serena (5/5): Passable - Room 8 is a broom cupboard with ensuit. 2 beds and a good cupboard. Window doesn't open there was no fan in room so took the one in loung and we had to put it in the cupboard as no other space. Not much maintenance and cleaning done (dusting). Comfy beds, not near any shops, but close to train.
A few people were locked out as they weren't informed the code had changed on the Sunday.
- Thariq (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (7/5): Luxury Getaway - not really - Close (10min) walk to railway station.
Comfortable communal lounge with big TV
Washing machine was big Not really clean.
Not luxury - the communal rooms look impressive but our twin room was a cupboard.
Mattresses quite soft
Crockery didn’t match - luxury?
- Luabanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Becht (6/5): Vancouver is over-priced - It was clean. Parking is a nightmare throughout Vancouver. The bed is old and bowed in the middle. Not comfortable. No A/C....
- Chii (6/5): Pleasant - This is a very Nice home for a family. However, the location is not the city center. They didn't provide the correct location to find the house. You have to check email in the booking all the time. If you come in late you might have a problem to find the place you have to call them to give you instruction. I would suggest if you are first time to vancouver. You better choose hotel instead of the people's house for your own safety.
- Roberto (10/5): Awesome place and really the most luxurious BNB that I have stayed so far! - Huge and spacious and luxurious room and personal bathroom. Nothing
- Jakub (10/5): Huge space with excellent amenities and top location - Huge space
Excellently organized
Full supply of home needs
Great kitchen and patio access Loved everything in this shared space
- Erica (10/5): . - Easy check in and kindness .
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Yian (10/5): Quiet and quaint - Clean. Great amenities. Location. Nothing around within walking distance except for a sushi restaurant.
- Oord (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kostyantyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Jasvir (9/5): Superb -
- Amethyst (3/5): It was great but they are not friendly , would not even allow me to store waited for - It was comfortable and easy to navigate the town from The attitudes trying to check in and check out and how many times they charged my card to make the reservation
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional - Area was nice..quiet..big house..needed tiding up unless the turn over was massive..all in all good
- Neil (1/5): The room was filled with the bed and there was no space for luggage - Nothing The bed mattress must be at least 100 years old . It was like sleeping on concrete . I tried to have this fixed with the owner to no avail. quite simply all they had to do is spend about $200 on a mattress topper to add the required softness . They were no help .
- Kristine (5/5): Passable - Given prices in Vancouver, this was good value. While not central, there were good connections via the Skytrain and bus services. Comfortable bed and a good night's sleep. We had an early flight home so ideal for access to the airport. The bathroom was grubby with hairs everywhere and drips and smears down the back of the door and units. No local shops or restaurants so needed public transport for a meal out or provisions (but I think this will change with the completion of the Oakridge development). No bedside light.
- Suzanne (8/5): We enjoyed the stay here, and it was very economical compared to a downtown hotel - It was comfortable and quiet. No TV which was good. The bed was very comfortable.
A bit of a walk from shopping, however there is a Mall under construction a few blocks away. Very close to the train line, so easy transport. Signs to show where things were. We could not find cutlery until the 2nd night. It was in the 2nd kitchen, which had everything needed.
- Simon (6/5): Not really as luxurious as advertised - disappointing - Nice kitchen but nothing labelled so need to search for everything. Small room, small beds not enough places for luggage or to hang things in bathroom. Host did not meet us like in all other properties we stayed in across Canada and didn’t even give a name, just ‘host’ - very impersonal. No parking near to house.
- Anaïs (1/5): Scam - avoid this place - This place is a scam, please don't go there. The owner asked for a 300 CAD$ deposit, told us he was going to give it back, and then completely ignored our messages and calls, and kept the money. It took us 2 months and a half to get back the money because we called booking's customer service (and the money we got came from booking, the owner of this place still hasn't paid anything). If you don't want your money stolen, find another place.
- Wilson (9/5): Good stay and highly recommended - Nice clean room with comfortable bed. No bathroom sharing with others because each suite has its own bath and toilet. Nice spacious kitchen with supplies. Close to transit stop and short walk to subway. Far away from restaurants or supermarket.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Vaughan (4/5): Barely satisfactory - Not clean or well resourced no tea or coffee, property lend intidy See above and
No personal service
- Mosa (9/5): Superb -
- Poey (2/5): I would not have booked this accommodation if I knew that we were sharing the house with strangers! - Nothing. 1) Did not realise it was 1 of I think 7 rooms in a big house and that the owner was not living in the house. We were literally sharing the house with strangers without the owner or any staff in the house! 2) Late in the night, someone was knocking at the door loudly. We have no idea what was happening as we were afraid to attend to the door! 3) Not allowed to drop luggage before check in time or leave luggage after check out time! 4) Had to carry heavy luggages up stairs. 5) Room was tiny without space for luggages. 6) Pin given to unlock property was incorrect.
- David (6/5): Nice clean room, doesn't feel too private though and bad for parking, but friendly, helpful staff. - Clean rooms We could hear everyone's footsteps and conversations throughout the building. Some of those conversations were very loud and went on at 11 at night. Parking was a 10 minute walk away from the facility.
- Ciré (9/5): I like my stay at that place - It was nice and neat. Good are not allowed.
- Jasvir (10/5): Exceptional -
- N (2/5): Disappointing - No breakfast, no drinking water, no shops close by to buy from. Asked for drinking water upon arrival because I was very thirsty, the staff never got back with it. No explanation no apology, just leaving you to face it. The room was hot, no ac, no fan. No TV anywhere in the property. Very unbelievable! Give your guest the right information. Tell me what to expect so I can prepare. I was given wrong information about accessing the property. Had to spend some time calling only to realise that the information provided initially was wrong as the access code has been changed recently. Yet nobody apologised for the stress I went through. Getting into the property only to realise I couldn't even get water to drink.
- R-y-a-n (7/5): Read the Reviews before booking it! they are all true - Comfy room, self check in/out EXTREMELY NOISY!!! In the walk in wardrobe there is a super noisy machine which sounded like somebody was drilling the wall on and off all night long!!!
Not very clean, toilet stained and hair in the bathroom and bathtub.
- Vidar (8/5): I will recommend this place. - Good location Noisy ventilation machine in our cobbord. Room 2.
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (9/5): Enjoyed the stay, nice property. - Close to train station. very comfortable room. entry lock was a bit tricky, took a while to work out how to open the door. Instructions not clear.
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
- Robyn (6/5): Great safe location with immediate transport access - I was scouting accommodation, to advise a Yukon institution that is helping patients
The house was in a very pleasant and safe neighborhood, and central to hospitals/clinics and the airport, with the nearby train station.
I have given my recommendation I was caught off by the subtext in costs
The map on booking.com was inaccurate, as it placed the house between Yukon and Alberta Streets, where it was actually adjacent to Cambie Street, and on the opposing side. That was confusing especially as the house numbers aren’t sequential there
- Mustafa (7/5): Good - The location is good, it is close to the train station 5-7 minutes walk. If you have bags take the bus. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet. The communication with the host was great and the host was responsive. The check in was easy even though i received a different passcode with the welcome message, but when i sent a message to the host they were responsive and gave me the right passcode. Overall we had a good experience, we stayed only for one night since we were traveling abroad and it was fine. Our room was upstairs and we had some bags and that were a challenge to get to the room with them, the stairs were not helping. No hangers in the bathroom and you can't hang any towels or your clothing on. We had someone in the middle of the night knock on the front door of the place so hard and wake us up, probably a guy who didn't have the password key. This is probably an isolated event. The room itself is very clean but the walls and window would use more deep cleaning.
- Elliot (7/5): Good -
- Gill (9/5): Superb - Quiet location. Very handy for the Transit to get you to the City, Waterfront or back to YVR. The ability to launder clothes was great. Room 2 had slightly noisy air conditioning. No access to local shop for milk etc. With this in mind it would be a nice gesture to supply a carton of milk for general use.
- Ben (1/5): Terrible, not luxury at all,the worst place I have ever stayed in Vancouver - Nothing Just about everything,it was far from luxurious,280 for two nights, blinds wouldn’t close,I notified the management and they didn’t fix them so I had no privacy day or night.
The towels were threadbare.
There was a long hair in the basin.
No tv,no coffee.
To cap it off they charged me 50 dollars for a sheet !
I have never been treated so badly and as a frequent visitor to Vancouver (staying in many other places)
I would strongly advise you not to stay here.
- Moujan (8/5): Good but could have been great. - Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Hard to find room for 2 suitcases though. The door hinges need oiling as they squeeked. Also because of the location of the room, people using the kitchen early in the morning disturbed sleep. Finally the room was always very warm. We figured it may have been because of underfloor heating in the bathroom but could not find the switch as there was no markings. See above
