And based in reviews, this company never really returns the $500 to 1000$ security deposit.
Once I learned this and canceled they also denied to return my money after requesting a full refund. The easiest 80$ they ever made!

- Eric (9/5): Clean apartment. Pet deposit should be held, not charged for no more than 24 hours after departure. - The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We only stayed for one night and found it to meet our needs. We had our two dogs which we paid $20 for each. One is a support dog but they still charged. This is the first time I have ever been charged for him. I was required to approve a $1000 deposit for the dogs. Instead of holding the charge, they billed it. The deposit was not returned for 14 days (they processed it after 10 days). Globalstay is making a lot of interest on these cumulative "deposits" and it's wrong.
It was hard to find the unit as it is on the lower level and the numbers were hard to see. We were led to believe we were getting a ground level unit and didn't notice the lower level until after driving around for some time.
- Sutton (5/5): nice but not perfect - It was a very nice suite with lots of room. It was very stressful waiting to get into the place. I called over 8 times, emailed 4 times before anyone answered to open the door. It left us sitting outside wondering if we had got scammed.
Then my dad got a parking ticket Saturday night at 10pm talk about a money grab :(

AC unit didn't work
The fan in the onsuite bathroom was full of dust and there was a long black hair in the tub.
THe railing to go into the back yard was falling apart.
Cigarette buts in the front d the back, considering the property was a non smoking unit, found that disgusting!

We had to call booking for 1h because they were not able to answer us juste before the rental. Don't go there. They are gonna ask you proof of ID, you have to take a picture of you. They charge you $500 deposit and they give me back the refund 10 days after the rental ! I'll never come again.

Персонал швидко відповідає. Онлайн поселення з детальною інструкцією. Багато зайвих рухів, щодо ідентифікації. Не працював фен, але персонал швидко вирішив цю проблему(перевіряйте все одразу перед заїздом). Досить висока плата - депозит (в порівнянні з іншими апартаментами). Погане прибирання - знайшли залишки скла біля ліжка.

- Evelyn (1/5): We are not happy and the money that we pay is not worthed. Our 4 year old child vomited and sick. - The property is ok, but I will rate the services of Globalstay is very very poor in handling complaints.
1. The accommodation has no AC and it is not specified in their Booking posting nor specified that only air circulating air is available which is very deceiving.
2. We called the Globalstay as soon as we checked in that the AC or Circulating Air control is not working and no one answered our call only texting through WhatsApp which their explanation is in relevant. We even sending the pictures of the control showing how hot is inside.
3. For the 2 days stay, the accommodation is boiling hot especially yesterday which is +34 inside the house. Our 4 year old child is very sick and vomited due to boiling hot like an oven inside the house.
4. All of us has only maximum of 2-3 hours of sleep at night due to boiling hot.
We came to Calgary to witness the Stampede and Calgary is scourging hot yesterday which is Saturday. Towards the end of afternoon all of us is looking forward to come back to the accommodation place where we can cool off and to hang out, but instead the place is boiling hot. We can't open the door because it will make the place hotter because of the hot air coming from outside. At night we tried to open the door for a bit of air but lots of mosquitos.
The amount of money of pay is not worthed. We are looking forward for a relaxing weekend in Calgary but instead we suffered for a very uncomfortable accommodation. Overall we did not enjoy our stay and we want a compensation of the deceiving us for the place with no Circulating Air nor AC.

- Estelle (6/5): Pleasant - Booked this because it seemed cheaper than any hotel and with the bonus of having a full kitchen. The actual appartment itself was fine. However you can hear the neighbours shower their kids walking talking, the walls are really thin.
It is also worth mentioning that there is a $1000 deposit required it is refundable if Globalstay is satisfied with the way you left the property.

- Kiersten (7/5): It worked - The advertisement was accurate, it slept the number people it promised to, the price was right. The damage deposit was outrageous. It was more than our entire stay was worth. It wasn’t well published on the ad. The over priced deposit had us extremely worried about getting our deposit back as well. The property had many small obvious damages already and we were nervous about being on the hook for them. The management company asked for pictures and then never responded. We were also warned that noise could affect our damage deposit. So the entire weekend I fought a battle of constantly shhhhing my teenage kids and husband in fear of losing some of the deposit. We did receive our deposit back but I will say the large amount and all the rules made our stay a bit oppressive. Not to mention the notion that it suggests there is CCTV supervising the property and can unlock the door at time.

- Didier (9/5): Amazing stay that exceeded my expectations - It was clean, comfy, and cosy with most crockeries and cuttleries for someone who likes to cook like me. Besides, I appreciated the readiness of the Globalstay team to respond via emails and assist me whenever I needed. Great location, quiet and residential area ideal to rest, relax and even work; however the issue was that it was quite far from local shops and restaurants and other amneties. Not ideal when you don't drive. Hopefully, Uber and lyft apps are quite frequent in the area and useful to move around as well as a few bus stops nearby.

- Alana (8/5): Very good - Was in a calm & quiet neighbourhood. Lots of places to walk & there was a hill that overlooked the area. You could see the mountains in the distance! No central A/C & fan wasn't very strong. Also, the water quality was poor. There were particles floating in the water from the taps. We tried to boil the water in the kettle but did not help. We had to purchase jugs of water for the whole week.
- Bhimesh (5/5): Okayish stay, won't be back for the frustrating and unfair charge experience - The property had a soap dispenser in the apartment which was glued to the wall, one night me and my partner were sitting in the living room when we suddenly heard a loud noise which kind of scared us as there was backyard access into the bedroom. We thought someone had broken in but the shower caddy had fallen. I immediately informed the management that it had fallen and they decided to charge me anyway for it without any receipt of replacement or proof of cost.
I repeatedly told them it was not my fault, to which they replied with picture I sent them when the caddy fell in the night and it fell on its own, and then they had no recourse for me and never replied. Really bad way to treat a customer for something so menial and something that could have hurt me or my partner in the shower as they don't setup things properly around the property.

After we booked, there was an extensive questionnaire that we had to fill out along with sending pictures of drivers liscence, passports, having to provide car license plate info, the time we were arriving etc. all for a one night stay. The host wouldn’t give us the check in information or address until all that was filled out, even though we fully paid for a non-fundable night. Also got charged a 500 CAD security deposit that I didn’t get refunded until weeks later. I live in America, so after the security deposit sat on my card for weeks & I finally got issued a refund the conversion rate changed & they refunded me less money. I reached out to the host to refund me the remaining difference & they didn’t care since they refunded me $500 CAD - so to them it didn’t make a difference that in my USD currency I received less money back. Terrible customer service, not worth the hassle. Book somewhere else - there are better places in Calgary.

- Bao (1/5): We were not happy, and we did not know there was a deposit of 500$. We had 2 cars but we were allowed to park only 1 car - It’s clean no air conditioning, it’s too hot. We had to struggling with the kids, they could not sleep. The staff did not know the area did not have the air conditioning, and they gave wrong advice, it wasted our time to manage with the air conditioning but the result is 0.

- Muhammad (1/5): Bad - Just stay away from this place. If you think that you're getting a good value for your money, think again! You'll regret every second in this place. You need to prepay a deposit before your check-in, which is fine by itself but if you think that you will get this deposit back, then think again. As many people wrote in the reviews (I was stupid enough to read and still ignore them), they will find a way to take some part of this deposit, for us it was $183. And why? Because when we arrived we had to clean the kitchen (because everything you touch was sticky - yuck!!!). Anyways, one of the refrigerator shelves was so sticky that we could not clean so we put on top of the refrigerator hoping that when we leave we'll put it back. Since we stayed there for 3 weeks, we forgot and these guys find a thing to take from the deposit... When confronted with the fact that the selves is there, they denied it existence but after showing them a picture we took, unknowingly of this miss, of the place in which the selves is seen on the refrigerator, they said that they had already ordered the shelve already... Make what you want from this, but your shelve will be waiting for you, whether it's a planket or a TV remote. Even if you decide to be a decent human being and clean up the place before you leave, we did that, but nope, you'll be sacked...
Besides this, the place is not clean, it's not dirty, it was cleaned but it's sticky and God forbids smell like piss! We had to buy our own bedsheets so we could sleep on the bed which is so uncomfortable that you'll hate going to bed! So you go to set on the couch, but it also smells like piss!!!! It's like it was soaked in human or animal piss.
One small thing that shows that they don't really care about you, it's a small detail, but the devil is in the details, the garbage room pin code changes weekly and we got stuck with garbage trying to get to the room 3 times! It's not that they don't know that it'll change because when you ask they will give you the new code, they just don't care...

- Cragg (1/5): NOT WORTH IT - Nothing You couldn't see the apartment address from the street, you have to walk down the stairs to see it.
The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. My son was barely able to sleep.There was also no cover for his comforter. 2 out of 3 of the bathroom lights didn't work, one of which was flashing on and off, so bad I had to unscrew it. I had to park in visitor parking because someone else parked too far into our parking stall. Once I did, I needed to register my truck with the property management company so I wouldn't get towed, but you need a code to do that which Globalstay only provided after I had to park 2 blocks away on the street or get towed because they didn't give me the code when I first told them about parking in visitor. It took GLOBALSTAY 3 WEEKS to return my outrageous $1000 deposit for this crappy apartment because I had my small Jack Russel. They only tell you about this BS deposit of course AFTER
you book the place.

And this was not that clearly stated until after we paid the non refundable fee for the night.
Directions to the place were very difficult to find.

- Shawna (4/5): Disappointing - The room was alike to the pictures but a different theme. Instead of pictures with gold frames and cute decorations I walked into a cowboy themed room. Unlucky because I absolutely hated the decorations the dead antler head, the animal print pillows and blanket the weird lamps overall made me extremely uncomfortable to be around that and it was not what I signed up for. Although it was a good amount of space there were about 6 flies that flew all around the house when we entered, no smell but the flies made it feel dirty. When we got there it was so hot we ended up finding a fan in one of the closets which a previous guest must have bought because when I asked if they had any fan or temperature unit they said to turn on the bathroom ventilation.

My 2y old son woke up with the noise. My husband was trying sleeping in the living room (sofa bed) and couldnt sleep at all. The second night, there was also noises coming from them. Very inconvenient.

- Daniel (4/5): Be careful, there’s A LOT you should know before you make a reservation - Usually, I don’t add reviews unless there is an outstanding reason. This place is the case. First, the good: communication is fast, and the place is just fine. It’s clean, accessible by car, and in a safe area. However, I will NEVER EVER use or book any place that has any relation with GLOBALSTAY again. If you google them, you will see how upset people are, and I agree. Here are a few reasons why:
- They will charge $500 as a security deposit - this is ridiculous! 5 times more than the cost of one night.
- They will refund the security deposit almost 20 days later, more than enough time to make money on it. (I was refunded almost two weeks later).
- I was VERY careful keeping the place clean and the same way I found it. They charge $30 if you leave a garbage bag inside the house. That’s right, you will pay an extra fee for cleaning, but your have to pay more if you leave a bag in the house.
- They have no respect for privacy. They will ask for a selfie holding a document and many other personal identifiable information. It does not matter if you have the best reputation, status, or have booked 1000 times using Booking. If you don’t comply with the demands, too bad, you will net get the checkin instructions and you will not get your money back.
- I could list more reasons why you should NOT use this business, but here’s my final two cents: pay more or get something lower in quality, but stay away from GLOBALSTAY. I honestly recommend avoiding it, and many other folks share the same opinion. There are many reasons why it's likely that something will feel creepy, like a fraud, or stress you out and ruin your stay.
- Dan (1/5): Can't stay at the property if the address is bad! - The address provided was no good. No way to contact the owner, Look at the address and try to pull it up on Google maps. I drove around the area for an hour and knocked on doors at 10:00 at night. Then had to book another room. Contested the charge on my CC but was only refunded part of my fee. Owner claimed the "No refund policy" but did not explain the address. No Service Provided. Is this jus a scam from the start? Proper address and check-in instructions. How about the owner explain and show my the address was good.

- Kayode (3/5): Highly NOT RECOMMENDED. - We booked a two night stay in Calgary via booking.com website. As there is no front desk, the listing states you will receive check in information within 48 hours of your stay (address and smart lock code). About 24 hours from departing and we were not provided check in information. They are now demanding a $500 security deposit that we were almost compelled to pay as we had no other option. There was NO PRIOR INFORMATION OF THIS DURING BOOKING. The norm would be any security hold is lifted immediately upon checkout. Any deviances from the normal process should be clearly identified in the listing. The customer only learns about this 14 day hold through messaging with the property AFTER they have already received your payment.
Also, the rules and regulations tied to your refunds make you feel like you were in Alcatraz. I couldn't wait to leave the place and would never return there...

- Leticia (7/5): Okay place but a sketchy pre-checkin experience - Nice place, looks brand new, has a nice decor. The bunk beds are uncomfortable. The pre checkin process was a mess. They charge a $500 damage deposit - which is a hard information to find before booking. They ask for your personal ID information to be sent outside booking.com in order to send the checkin information. The cons outweighs the pros. I wouldn’t book with this company again nor recommend to friends/family.
- Olga (10/5): I'm grateful I found them - This themed accommodation is a gem, and my kids loved it. On top of that, it had almost everything we needed for the kitchen and bedding and facilities. Even though it is a basement, but the owners made the most of it and we were super comfy there.

- Alex (1/5): False advertising - The place was a nice 1 bedroom hallway :) False advertising of $69 for 1night which quickly turned into $130 then when I forgot to mention that me and the wife would have a guest of our baby and it says pet friendly but that means $20 per pet fee at least the baby was only an extra $10...FFS now we at $180
Then comes the $500 deposit that maybe they'll give you back as long as you didn't fart too loud
- Dixie (3/5): Poor - Couch gave both my son and I rashes. Check in was not easy, and they made me pay a deposit that has not yet been refunded. The registration process was extensive and onerous. Will not stay again.
