Pre-Booking Confirmation: Before moving in, I specifically asked the landlord if the heating and hot water were functional. He assured me everything was "fine"
Reality Upon Arrival:
- No Hot Water: We couldn’t shower or use warm water for basic needs.
- No Heating: The apartment was freezing at night, making it impossible to sleep comfortably.
- Electrical Issues: Multiple were malfunctioning, creating safety hazards. However, the moment I followed the instructions and attempted to activate it, the entire apartment lost power, plunging us into complete darkness.
While groping around in the dark, I accidentally tripped and fell as I walked past, hitting my water bottle and sustaining minor injuries. This incident left me feeling extremely frightened and further worsened the already terrible living experience.
2. Landlord’s Failed Repairs & Relocation
- The landlord claimed someone came to fix the issues, but nothing was repaired.
- At 20:00, he offered a "solution": move to a much smaller apartment (47㎡) located farther away. This was less than half the size of the 110㎡ apartment I originally booked.
- We were have to accept this option because the alternative was sleeping on the street at night.
3. Elevator Failure & Additional Hardships
- Upon arriving at the replacement apartment, we discovered the elevator was out of service.
We had to carry all our luggage up five flights of stairs late at night, which was exhausting and unacceptable.
4. Host’s Refusal to Compensate & Platform Inaction
The landlord refused to refund the price difference between the original and replacement apartments, despite the drastic downgrade.
