• JULIO (8/5): lugar muy bonito y tranquilo. - el desayuno muy bueno , las personas muy buenas gente. la habitación cuando llegamos , la ducha no tenia palanca para activar y que saliera el agua , resolvimos en ese momento , comunicamos y no resolvieron.

• Roger (7/5): - The volunteers were really great and common areas and pool were especially nice. I also enjoyed the surf skate session. The beach of Avellana is magic. Unfortunately the house is actually a bit far from the beach (about 25 minutes walk). Normally that wouldnt be a problem, but with the dirt roads you take a lot of dust in the face on the walk. There was not a working vehicle at the guesthouse, but sometimes other guests gave us a ride. The hardtop surfboards need maintenance. Most were damaged in some way or missing fins. I love dogs, but the house dog was not well enough trained and caused some damage to some of the things in the room. Hes friendly though. With a little bit of maintenance and a vehicle for beach drops this would be a great guesthouse.

Costa Rica can feel overpriced when traveling solo, but this is a place where your money actually delivers real value—top-tier service, delicious food, and great accommodation. I’d stay here again without hesitation if I return to Costa Rica. nothing

• lauren (10/5): Best little surf house in Costa Rica - One of the cosiest and loveliest surf houses we’ve been. Amazing location, great kitchen with tasty food, lovely people and nice area. Great staff and comfortable beds. Cute dog and child friendly. We love it Nothing. Perhaps not easy to reach without a car. But we had one. So perfect location
• charles (10/5): - Joaco the manager is a great host and the staff are very kind. The spot is not too far from the beach and local surf areas, a small quiet town which was great. Could of used hot showers for the dorms but after surfing it wasn't a big deal.

Everyone from the owner, manager and the volunteers were so sick just hanging out, surfing, and helping make sure we had a great stay. the included shuttle to take people to surf/beach/restaurants or anywhere in town was clutch. ive never seen a hostel provide a free shuttle around town. ive stayed in dozens of hostels from Nicaragua-Bolivia-Morocco-Bulgaria and this was one of the best ive stayed at honestly only thing is you can't cook there. everything else blew my expectations out of the water. go to gregorios or manantial for dinner. cheapest and best local food in avellanas

• Genevieve (10/5): Good vibes, high stoke, fun time :) - I had a great stay! The staff was helpful and cheerful. Everything on campus was reasonable priced and delicious. Everything was clean and well taken care of. I noticed the stuff would switching pillow covers, patching float's in the pool, and general cleaning when groups go out for 6am surf. The volunteers were fun, will versed in the area and wanted everyone to feel included and have a good time. The ONLY THING. There’s a dog and a cat on campus, I had to ask the cat didn’t come into the bunk room because I’m allergic. It never came back in the room and wasn’t a problem. I love dogs and was happy to play with the dog during down time.

• Alicia (3/5): Not nice. - Not a lot. The breakfast was good. And the volunteers were kind and nice. This may have been my fault but I thought this was going to be a bed and breakfast but it was a full hostel. That should be advertised. The room was dirty. Our toilet trash was never emptied in the 4 days we were there. On my last night I went to take a shower and it was a trickle. I had to go to the outside shower to get the soap out, in addition the shower did not have a curtain so water went everywhere. The bed did not have a blanket only sheets. One morning I stayed back to sleep in someone started working on the roof right above me at 6:30 am. The next three mornings I left.
• Charity (7/5): Lovely place! - Beautiful place, comfy bed, enormous shower, nice cool pool, good selection of surfboards to rent. It got quite loud every night. Not really the fault of the property but the way our room was right next to the pool and outdoor space made it so that we could hear every word of those out there. It was spring break so the other guests were up quite late and so we could not sleep super well. I think maybe if you have a room upstairs it might be better.

• Jonathan (10/5): Best place I have stayed at in costa Rica thus far - Amazing included breakfast, vibes, facilities, staff, and activities! One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! It felt more like a shared vacation home than a hostel. The distance to the beach is a twenty minutes walk of you have no car and there is no public kitchen to prepare you own food (you must either order food from the hostel kitchen or eat out)

Highly recommend ! Everything was perfecto I think, staying in a room with other people ( strangers) is a challenge, especially in a bunkbed. But that was my choice.
