- Alejandra (7/5): Good - The staff for this hotel was top notch. They really went out of their way to communicate effectively and help us in the planning of out trip. Maye helped me identify a local driver I could hire for the trip as well as food. She was incredibly responsive every time we needed something and did her best to accommodate our needs. She gave us the contact information for two drivers: Carlos, was punctual, respectful and was very accommodating and drove us around many areas in the region. The second driver also was great and both offered reasonable prices. The location for this cabin is well taken care of, incredibly beautiful, and I appreciated that it included breakfast. We also came with our small dog who is properly house trained and that did not present a problem or additional charge. You could tell the owner took great pride in the place, and as a new business, aimed to design a beautiful space. I felt safe and welcomed. There is a network of local entrepreneurs who own cabins in the same area, provide restaurant services, and really work together to care for the guests. We went to this cabin to escape the fireworks for new years, and it was absolutely perfect. The access to nature, the quiet, and the peace was unmatched. We really enjoyed the fireplace and also found the pull out couch to be very comfortable. This isn't a pro or con per say, but it should be noted the bed is on the harder side so if you need softner bed the pull out couch is a better option. The last point I will make is that while we were able to find a driver for our time there, it might be a better experience for folks to bring their own car so they have a bit more autonomy as everything requires a drive to get to. Overall, we felt like we were like family! As a new business there were several issues we encountered with the cabin. For example, water was leaking from the shower and toilet, the balcony door did not close entirely (which has a big impact in the cold evening weather), and the first cabin we were placed in seemed like it was still not finished in terms of construction. That said, it should be noted that Maye truly went out of her way to address any concern and I fully believe within a few months the quality of these accommodations will increase considerably as they conitnue to grow this business and make improvements. She even shared that they were planning on adding jacuzzi and grilling area to the cabins which I think will greatly increase their value. It should be noted that the entrance to the cabins requires a pretty steep descenet so if you are someone that has balance issues or issues with your knees you might want to select the higher cabin or opt out of this one altogether.
