Guest Reviews
- Harmanpreet (3/5): don't recommend to book this lodge not worth it - the location it was too hot in there and we were asking the owner about the cooling system but didn't get any help
we booked 3 rooms but we were given only one fan
too bad at facilities and service
owner didn't pick up the call
- Sean (7/5): Convenient, good value for the location, building felt secure, pleasant surroundings. - Location was very convenient. Beds were comfortable, clean linens. Beautiful views from the balcony, free parking in garage. A number of appliances and fixtures hadn’t been repaired i.e. broken lamp switches, leaking kitchen faucet, scratched toilet seat, etc, mold in bathroom and on shower curtain. Kitchen supplies were limited.
- Deirbhile (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyudmila (3/5): Poor - Location "This is not a three-bedroom as advertised. It's actually two bedrooms and a loaf, and the room upstairs doesn't have walls or doors, no privacy.
- Aine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erica (6/5): A great stay that started off well but was completely overshadowed by the parking nightmare. - The lodge itself was fair, though, as expected, the photos made it look nicer than it actually was. Before our stay, we reached out multiple times to ask about the availability of a hot tub but never received a response. However, once we arrived, the host was easy to reach and quite helpful—except when it came to parking, which was likely beyond their control. The location was great for kids, with a park right underneath and a library just across the street. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, but having to walk to the gondola with all our gear was a bit inconvenient. We were a large group staying in a spacious three-bedroom unit with three cars and five kids. The parking situation was a nightmare. Our designated parking spot was practically unusable—wedged beside a pillar and a big pickup truck, leaving no space for our SUV to park or safely get in and out without risking damage.
When we contacted the host for guidance, we were told to use the limited visitor parking, which operated on a first-come, first-served basis and only had three spots total. We managed to get one on the first day and another on the second (we left on the third day), but from that point on, we were bombarded with phone calls and text messages from other guests asking when we were leaving so they could take our spots. It was honestly exhausting, especially while trying to manage five young kids.
One guest asked to use our designated unit parking because their car was smaller—we agreed, but the harassment about the visitor spots continued. Despite a sign stating the maximum visitor parking stay was five days, we were repeatedly approached by three or four different parties.
We informed the host, but their only suggestion was to continue using visitor parking. At that point, they may as well have just told us to bring only one car. The lack of support and clear instructions made the experience unnecessarily stressful.
- Viktoriia (1/5): Bad -
- Rachel (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - Great space Took a little while to get check in information
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Kyle (6/5): Ok stay - Location Key codes everywhere long ones
- Niamh (10/5): Exceptional - The location was excellent! We were skiing so walking distance to the gondola in Whistler was great. Very spacious and comfortable. I couldn’t say a bad thing about it. The hot tub was a great perk!
- Isip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Behnaz (6/5): Pleasant - The water head in the kitchen sink was a bit troubling us to turn off.
- Lois (10/5): Exceptional - The location everything was convenient very happy with my stay
- Abraham (9/5): TYNDALL STONE REVIEW!!! - The place was clean and very centric Here’s a revised and redacted version of your text for clarity and professionalism:
It was a rollercoaster of emotions with this experience. I'll start with the positives: the place was clean, centrally located, and spacious. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, which we appreciated.
However, the main issue for me was the interaction with the owners or managers, which was frustrating from the beginning and only got worse. The most concerning part was how poorly and unprofessionally they handled the deposit. According to their listing, the deposit should be returned within seven days, but it took almost 20 days to get mine back.
At the start, they tried to obtain my credit card information and had me sign a document authorizing them to charge my card, any transaction at any time. They never specified the amount of the deposit in their contract which made me doubt even more.(it's not a customized contract, and I don't mean individually, but if they are going to charge the same amount of deposit to everyone, then they should specify it in the contract)
When I raised concerns and tried to explore alternative ways to manage the deposit, even involving the booking platform, they were unresponsive. This lack of communication made me suspect it could be a scam, though it turned out not to be.
After checking out, I expected my deposit to be refunded promptly, but I had to send multiple messages over two weeks, constantly being told it was "under review." Eventually, I had to contact the booking platform to escalate the issue. It was only after another five days that I finally received my deposit. The entire ordeal was stressful and left me with a bad impression.
Additionally, their cleaning fee was $300, which I felt was excessive, though my family and I agreed to pay it since the apartment was large, and we were splitting the cost.
I hope others have a better experience than I did. Good luck!
- Barrera (1/5): Awful Experience at Tyndall Stone Lodge - I am writing to share my unfortunate experience at Tyndall Stone Lodge by Cozystay Signature Whistler. After making a reservation, I encountered significant difficulties when attempting to reach the property. The contact number provided through Booking.com did not work, and my emails went unanswered.
Eventually, I managed to speak with a staff member who was quite rude and informed me that I would need to pay a $500 security deposit, as my booking was for a three-bedroom unit. This was unexpected, as I had understood the deposit to be $300. And even the most luxuries hotels don’t charge more then $300.
When I requested to cancel my booking and receive a refund, I was told I had to go through Booking.com. After contacting them, they cancelled the reservation but noted that it required the property’s approval. Upon calling Tyndall Stone Lodge again, I was told they hadn’t received any communication, despite receiving confirmation from Booking.com that they had sent an email. Please note we did not even stay at the property.
A week later, I followed up and learned that nothing had been processed. Booking.com reiterated that they would reach out to the property, but I was informed that the staff needed to consult with accounting to process my refund.
As of now, I have yet to receive my money back, despite my reservation being made for January 5, 2025. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and it appears I am not alone, as others have reported similar issues.
I strongly advise against booking at Tyndall Stone Lodge, as this experience has been far from satisfactory.
- Giesbrecht (1/5): Bad - The rental wanted a damage deposit which is completely understandable. However they wanted to collect it using DocuSign and also to collect government ID. At one point they even asked to collect the damage deposit via e-transfer. I didn't feel comfortable sending my personal information in this way and they were unable to provide a secure website so that I could pay the damage deposit. We ended up staying elsewhere and and they did not refund the payment we made to stay.
- Samir (6/5): Great location, mediocre value - Location was great. Beds were plenty Lacking normal amenities required for comfort - garbage can, kitchen utensils and wine glasses, fire place didn’t work until day 2, parking spot did not fit a compact car even so had to pay for parking, hasn’t been updated in years (speaker for ipod had oldest pin plug and no blue tooth, tv 15-20
Years old so couldn’t watch anything streaming).
- Maysie (2/5): it should get updated - My stay in Unit 303 was, unfortunately, the worst experience I’ve ever had. The kitchen faucet barely worked and clearly needs to be replaced. Upon entering the unit, I was immediately hit by a strong, oily smell emanating from the kitchen. After investigating, I realized the smell was due to the 2-in-1 microwave with ventilation, which does not vent properly to the outside, causing the odors to linger and permeate the entire unit.
The oven was another major issue. It was filthy, with grease and old food residue coating the interior. When I attempted to bake ready-made cookies for just a few minutes, the oven produced so much smoke that it filled the unit, leaving it even smellier and making all our clothes reek of smoke and grease. This was incredibly unpleasant and entirely avoidable with proper cleaning.
The bunk bed was another disappointment. It felt old and unstable; every time someone moved on the bottom bunk, the entire structure shook uncomfortably. This made it hard to get a decent night’s sleep.
The designated parking spot was a nightmare. It was so narrow that even parking a family van felt nearly impossible. The limited space between the cars left no room for error, making parking extremely stressful.
Overall, this unit was poorly maintained and fell far below expectations. I would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made. good swimming pool and hot tub
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Lalaine (10/5): Travelled with family. It was a great experience. Will visit again ♥️ -
- Harmandeep (9/5): Superb -
- Lucas (8/5): Very good - Few things we noticed, the sink was difficult to turn off, there were dirty dishes in the cabinets, and the balcony lock didn’t seem to work properly. Other than that it was a great deal perfect for a group trip.
- Hannah (8/5): Great location, great value for money! - Really great location, good facilities. We had an amazing stay !
- Shivnani (3/5): BASIC and NOTHING MORE!. - The location of the Lodge was great. Nestled in the middle of Whistler Village. There were numerous complaints we had with the Lodge. Just to list a few... a few Light switches weren’t working, exposed wiring, broken kitchen sink faucet, missing shower door (caused water to spill onto bathroom floor when you showered), cigarette buds left from previous guest(s), and the biggest complaint we had was that the hosts were bad in communicating. None of my inquiries were answered, and I had to go back and forth with the host and booking.com regarding Damage Deposit. I was extremely stressed out on the day of check-in, because we weren’t sure if the host would uphold the Damage Deposit amount stated on the agreement of use. I was worried that I would have to run around looking for another space for my family which included a 5 month old. Host ended up agreeing to the $300 Damage Deposit. We stayed for 1 night, so we just decided to stick it through the night.
Also… It was extremely difficult to get my Damage Deposit back. It’s now been a week and a half since we stayed, and I still haven’t received my Damage Deposit back.
- Karen (10/5): We loved Whistler and our stay at Tyndall Stone Lodge - Property was in a great spot in the village with cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. An added bonus to have the music on the green opposite was a fun surprise.
The property had everything we needed and was great for our family star. It was comfortable, clean and well appointed.
- Kym (10/5): Perfect location wished we could have stayed longer. - Location fantastic We had to leave
- Kirsty (1/5): NOT as advertised. - Location was great Communication was poor. One shower was out of order with no notification. The other shower had drainage issues. TV did not work. Cups had lipstick marks still on them. Blinds were missing sections and other blinds had holes in them.
- Simranjit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harri (5/5): Great location & good place for a group if you can get a good price! - It is in a great location. Right in North Village. Super easy to find & instructions from the host was great. Being right in the village there is a bit of noise at night but that is to be expected. It had enough seating area for everyone. The little deck facing out to the plaza is great to see what is happening in the village.
Lots of towels for everyone to use which was appreciated. It is a really tired apartment. Christmas decorations are still up in July and there is quite a bit of dust collecting on them and on ledges that are higher up. The blinds throughout the apartment are either broken or have holes in them.
The shower had a lot of shower grim build up and black mould and it could do with a proper clean. One of the shower screens is also missing in the main bathroom so if you are not careful, water can spray all over the bathroom.
The kitchen tap is broken. It is functional (water does come out) but it takes a lot of turning in different directions to get it to start / stop. There are also no basics in the kitchen - no wine glasses, salt , pepper or oil.
I stayed in the double bunk bed which i found really comfortable with great pillows. My friends who stayed in the two single beds said that they could feel the springs in the mattress and the friends in the double bed said that their bed creaked a lot when they rolled over during the night.
The internet was really slow when we were there - it seemed like the quota was used up for the month and it was delay loading everything which made it tricky for people who were travelling from overseas and did not have a Canadian SIM Card.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kunal (8/5): Very good -
- Shu (8/5): Very good - Spacious and convenient location We could not figure out how to use the tv
- Jamie (6/5): Great Location & walking distance to everything! - The accommodation was comfortable & a great location, central to everything! The blinds didn’t work or were broken. Some of the lights didn’t work, needs a little bit of TLC!
- Jameela (9/5): Superb -
- David (7/5): Very good location, just need regular maintenance! - You cannot beat the location This property needs TLC as few things were broken. Photos were supplied to the management team and hope this fix will help boosting the future ratings. Also the parking space assigned for this room is very tight and with height limit (basement parking/parkades), you should consult the management team prior to booking if you are travelling on a medium+ size car.
- Susanne (6/5): We had fun. We were comfortable. The cost was reasonable. It's nothing fancy. - The condo layout was good. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and two young children. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped for a short stay. The beds were comfortable. The kids wanted to come back again. They loved the loft with the bunk bed and spiral staircase, as well as the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The location is central to lots of non skiing activities and restaurant options. Our group of six had two cars and one parking space... not good! The property was impossible to find with the directions that were supplied. We ended up having to ask people on the street. It turns out there were two towers with the parking garage in between them. Nice to know in advance! $300 damage deposit was a surprise, but it was returned promptly. The hefty cleaning fee was another surprise. The kitchen faucet is broken as is the toilet paper holder in the 2nd bedroom ensuite. The lighting was iffy. The place could definitely use an update.
- Ismael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerrie (2/5): If it wasn't for the location I would honestly have left the first day! - I was hassled for the bond, the room was not clean, half the lights did NOT work, the shower screen feel on me when I was in the shower, I reported it and NOTHING happened, no-one came to fix it, the beds were uncomfortable, the fan did NOT work in the main bathroom, most power points did NOT work, etc etc
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Saeedeh (5/5): Passable -
- | (1/5): Room wasn't cleaned and very messy. - Room wasn't cleaned and very messy. We didn't stay there, I had to book separate accommodations because my coworkers refused to stay in a dirty suite. Emails and messages went unanswered, phone number provided didn't work.
- Paras (3/5): Poor - Location Firstly, one of the main issues was the lack of an air conditioner in the room. During my stay, the weather was quite warm, and the absence of proper cooling made the room uncomfortable. This impacted my overall comfort and sleep quality during the nights.
Secondly, I noticed that there were items left behind from the previous guest in the room. It gave the impression that the room was not thoroughly cleaned before my arrival. Discovering such remnants can be unsettling and raises concerns about the hotel's cleanliness standards.
I believe that a comfortable and clean room is an essential expectation for any hotel stay, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet these basic standards. As a result, I am left with no choice but to rate my stay negatively.
I hope that you take this feedback constructively and consider it as an opportunity to improve your services. It is crucial to address these issues to ensure a positive experience for future guests.
Also, WIFI was very quality and worked very rarely most there were 2 air cons left in the room and neither of them were connected to the window vents plus half of lights were non functional.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I trust that you will take appropriate steps to rectify these concerns.
- Jessica (3/5): Poor -
- Jewell (9/5): Superb -
- Gorav (7/5): Good - Location, Value for money Cleanliness could be a lot better. All the window blinds are very dirty and broken, no remote for the smart tv, only the digital box remote was provided
- Kimberly (5/5): was the space we needed for type of trip but wouldn’t return - the location and lay out was perfect. very outdated. it was dirty. toilet market flushed, kitchen sink tap was hard to turn off, washing machine didn’t work. Christmas decorations still up. so dusty. the walls are very dirty
- Cindy (8/5): Very good -
- Fariba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leigh (9/5): Superb -
- Karissa (8/5): Very good -
- Klaver (5/5): Not impressed. I would figure with a $210.00 cleaning fee some maintenance could also be done. - location Bathtub drain wont open.
Bedroom lamps are broken and cant be switched on.
Bedroom heater doesn’t work.
Second bathroom fan doesn’t work. Both are so filthy with dust it falls onto floor in chunks.
kitchen faucet is broken.
So much mold and mildew around tub and shower.
Electrical plugs missing covers and hanging out of wall.
- Klaver (8/5): Very good -
- Singh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sunjeeb (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (1/5): Not applicable - we were scammed - the host took our money but did not give us entry - We were scammed. The host did not provide us with an entry code. They took our money and then did not reply to any messages and we’re not contactable by phone. Do not book this.
- Marco (8/5): Very good -
- Sami (1/5): Never again - The host never answered the phone or any of my questions. I didn’t think we were going to be able to get in and a few minutes before checkin they sent the information. I want a refund. It was dirty and there was used condoms and dirty rags.
- Ryan (5/5): poorly maintained and very dirty - great location I didn’t get access codes to enter the building until way after our check in time. I had to phone multiple times on multiple numbers plus email. when we got in the place the suite was filthy. stains on the bed sheets, laundry bag left on couch, dishwasher full and not cleaned, carpet ripping up, glass shower door broken and using a shower curtain which is filthy and moldy and outside patio set not cleaned. considering I am paying a $200 cleaning fee and assuming everyone else who rents it is too I would expect it to be cleaner. it has potential if it was maintained better. I’d like my cleaning fee back.
- Vicente (1/5): Bad - horrible experience.i wasn’t able to get in the property but still they charge
e.i need my money back!! !!! sucks!!!!i wasn’t able to get in the property but still they charge me.i need my money back
- Son (1/5): it ruin my vacation - nothing no ac in the unit
- Joyce (1/5): Everything was not good excepts for the convience for location. - The location is very good; it is located in the middle of the Whistler village. This was the one of the reasons that we actually booked this lodge. Unclean bed sheets, not working wash dryers and air conditioner - tried to reach & contact the host to fix the problem before we check out but they never showed up/answered my phone call.
