• Luna (9/5): Best alternative to a hotel in the area for a 1 bedroom space - The host was lovely and ready to guide or help in any way. They are easy to contact and friendly. It's located in a quiet neighborhood and close to amenities. You have access to nearly everything you need to be comfortable for a short duration stay, and they provide additional items in case you forgot something like shampoo, toothbrushes, etc. They also leave detailed instructions for how to use devices, access netflix, turn on the shower, etc. The motivational notes were cute and my son liked the pictures. While they are very respectful, we could still hear every step they took. It is likely just related to insulation, and it wasn't unbearable by any means. You'd deal with far more noise being in a hotel downtown, and they have quiet hours that are respected so it doesn't affect sleep.

• JL (10/5): Budget-friendly yet top notch in attention to detail and care provided by homeowner! - Homeowner Julia is very helpful since the beginning of our trip planning. She provides detailed information on text and around her lovely BNB. Julia also left a couple of fruits like 🍎 and Mandarin oranges 🍊 , quick nibbles for hiking or if one is experiencing low on sugar (which we were not, but it was helpful), and adorable macarons and custard treats inside the fridge. We arrived somewhat late — 8:37pm — but Julia wanted to welcome us in person which we appreciated. Flat pillows — my wife did not have a good night’s sleep on the first night as the pillows were flat, so it was hard on her neck and upper back. So, for our second night, I elected to sleep on the couch (I snore loud too) and let my wife double up on the pillows in the bedroom.

• Sarah (10/5): The hostess with the mostest! - The host was very clear in her communication and did not leave anything to be unanswered. The bed and pillows were comfy and it was nice to chill out with Netflix before bed. The suite was very clean and everything that we needed and more was there. Fresh filtered water, coffee, cream and treats in the fridge, and even toys for my son to play with. I would have liked to stay longer. We will be back again. A little bit of noise upstairs, but not while we were sleeping. The couch wasn't the comfiest, but we weren't there long enough for that to be an issue. We were exploring fun things to do. The suite is in Langford, but the level of service that we got, I would stay here again and again even though it was a drive to get into the downtown core.

Very easy to find, parking right in front of the house, and no stairs to carry your luggage down. I would definitely book this again when we return to the Victoria region.

Everything is very thoughtfully organized and labeled with very helpful information. There are Post-its with very helpful information on how to navigate through Victoria for tourists, helpful pamphlets. Extra bed and bedding provided. Fully stocked with coffee, tea, and any other condiments you might need. As well, the washroom had all the makings of a home. Julia left us treats, which was very nice. We appreciated tips that Julia left for us on how to access the WiFi and the TV along with any necessities to use the washroom. It felt like home :) Downtown Victoria was a 20 minute drive even with morning traffic. Would definitely recommend staying with Julia during your next visit to Victoria. I know I'll be looking for her next time.

• Rameez (8/5): Great Host! Recommend to to anyone visiting the area. - The host prepared a couple desserts and left them in the fridge for us. I loved the macaroons, I liked how she wrote down ingredients as well if you needed to know for any allergies or dietary restrictions. For breakfast; snacks, tea and coffee were included in the suite. I personally liked the honey comb toffee. Everything was really good for the value. We just couldn't find a steam iron in the morning but that was a minor hiccup.

There isn't a kitchen space, but there is a microwave, fridge, water dispenser, SodaStream, kettle, teas, and a coffee maker. There is washing up liquid in the bathroom to use in the sink there. Host and her family were very kind and available if anything was needed. They even left treats for me! This comfortable, spotless unit is located abt 20 mins from DT Victoria on the highway. I was visiting friends who lived away from DT so the suite was great for me. Only sharing in case people are not familiar with the layout of Victoria and the surrounding area. There is a small amt of noise that can come thru the floor which again was not a problem for me. I sleep like a log and already live in a family home so was not bothered. Only sharing for people who might be sensitive to noise.

The hostess had given great attention to detail, providing various toiletries one might need, as well as a special baked good treat in the fridge, milk for coffee, coffee, various kinds of tea, and fruit. There were dishes and cutlery, really everything you might need in a kitchen except a stove and sink. I slept well there too. I would definitely stay there again. So comfortable!

• James (10/5): Super good host. Fully loaded suite. - The host and family members were very welcoming. They made my wife and I feel very comfortable and at ease. Actually, they went beyond what I've ever experienced staying at a homestay / ABnB setting. They gave us soup and a small supper of wrap, which were super delicious. They had a surprise for us in the fridge, macaron and lemon tarts for dessert! We later discovered that the husband is a master chef, and the wife is a baker. Then they offered to do our laundry as their washer / dryer were not accessible to guests. Super good. We were so happy staying there that we decided to extend our stay by one night. Unfortunately, they were fully booked for the rest of the week We will certainly stay with them if we are in the area again in the future. The room was a little tight. What could be done with the fully loaded room of gadgets was to keep everything on shelves. In that way, more space can be created. A sink will be ideal but that can only be done if the above suggestion is carried out.

She also prepared some desserts in the fridge which tasted sooooo good! Thank you Julia! The unit was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and all the hygiene supplies are available in the unit. I will for sure stay here again and highly recommend the unit to anyone who drives. Nothing.

She even gave us freshly made pastries, and fruit and chocolates! The suite was super clean and the bed was comfy. Everything was supplied in the kitchenette and the bathroom was stocked with extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, body lotion — the works. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a place that was as well supplied as this one. It’s a suite in the lower level of her home so, you can hear her family upstairs; it’s not soundproof. That didn’t bother us, but potential guests should be aware of that. Personally I would stay there again. Julia really is a great host.

W - Lovely stay, every little detail thought of from chargers in the bedroom to sweet treats on arrival. Very clean. Julia very welcoming and accommodating. Limited cooking space, enough for a simple meal though as there was only a microwave and a small combi oven. Bedroom window was right by neighbours door so was woken up by them when taking their dog out in the early hours

The location was also brilliant close to things without being too close to the city. Julia was extremely helpful and kind, she even left some pastries in the fridge for us on check in! Nothing this property was perfect!!!

Lovely place, has a separate entrance. - Julia the host was very friendly, she even called and messaged us when she discovered a bag that we had left behind after checking out. Julia had thought of most things one could need. The accommodation consisted of bedroom, lounge/diner and bathroom. Everything was very clean, coffee/tea making facilities, cups etc in lounge. Large TV in lounge, large desk at end of bed. Bed lovely and comfortable. Welcome pastries and milk were found in the fridge. Welcome messages and card signed by all the family found in the lounge. Thank you Julia and family for making us feel most welcome. At certain times you could hear the family in the accommodation above... wasn't too noisy and was very quiet before our bedtime. Washing up had to be done in the bathroom sink (or bath?). Difficult to see what could be done to change this, but we managed ok.

• Yan (10/5): Exceptional - I visited Victoria in June 2024, and during that time, hotel prices were quite high. To stay within budget, I booked this guest house. Initially, I didn't expect much since it cost half of what a normal branded hotel would. However, it exceeded my expectations! Everything was well-prepared and extremely clean, even the corners and the back of the TV were spotless. The host, Julia, was very friendly and helpful. If I have the chance to visit Victoria again, I would definitely stay here. also, street parking was easy. Nothing wrong with the property, but just a heads-up: if you're coming from Butchart Gardens, Google Maps might direct you to a very narrow road without a dividing line. Please avoid this route, as it can be quite tricky when you encounter oncoming traffic—you'll both need to make room for each other.

• Simone (9/5): A truly memorable stay. - Great location, cool and quiet. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city but easily accessible when needed. Loved that it was well equipped with all that the kitchen gadgets needed to fix a balanced meal, even without a stovetop. Nicely decorated to feel like a home away from home. Initially I wasn't keen on having to wash the utensils in the bathroom; however, after checking the cupboard I saw that Julia provided the disinfectants to clean the sink and countertop which made it more conducive.
