Guest Reviews
- Downs (10/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): - Comfortable clean and cosy
Nice pool area but not warm enough to tempt. Confusion working out which was our accommodation.
- Evangelia Leah (5/5): - Pool and overall home was positive. Definitely different to what was expected. The guest house is a shack like shed at back of property.
Would be good to provide plastic crockery, instead of glass given you are unable to take glass into the back.
1 - 2 PowerPoints in kitchen didn’t work and also there was no kindling provided for the fire pit.
- Burrows (8/5): -
- Shane (6/5): Pleasant accommodation in a lovely location - The Retreat is located in a nice location, close to many different attractions and wineries of the Barossa Valley. The Retreat is fully furnished as a unit with cooking appliances and a washing machine. The pool is easily accessed and would be great for a family or group. While I understand the vision for the Retreat, the unit is a fitted out shed that is located in someone's backyard, privacy and the ability to use facilities feels compromised. The experience was underwhelming for the cost of the booking - the value was just not there. Would be perfect for a group of people sharing costs.
- Rose (10/5): A Treasure in the Barossa - What a find! A clean, beautiful, and affordable accommodation right in the Barossa with a sparkling pool to cool off in after a hot day.
So private and quiet, but close to everything.
We loved our mini break here and loved that the unit is also accessible which is great for those who may have mobility issues.
- Margo (8/5): -
- Aileen (9/5): Great location with great facilities for accessing the Barossa Valley - Loved the extra touches such as complimentary breakfast muffins, jams, butter, milk and cereal. Having access to Netflix on the tv waa also great! Access to an extra spare towel would be great if using the pool. It would have been handy to have access to oil olive as a basic condiment for basic cooking.
One of the towel racks was loose and broke during our stay.
It was a bit strange having the second bedroom in what was likely the walk in wardrobe of the master bedroom, but that can’t be changed and thankfully the people that went were easy going and didn’t mind the the people staying in the second bedroom walking through the master.
- Nikki (10/5): Incredible Stay - Was just overall chill comfy vibes which is exactly what we were after. Loved the pool, loved the accommodation and loved how quickly my messages got responded to. The strange noises in the night haha. Also Alexa would randomly go off in the middle of the night so the place may be haunted 🤣
- Kim (10/5): Great place, great staff, great location. Will highly recommend! - Absolutely loved our stay. The accommodation was very well appointed and every comfort was thought of. The ambiance is relaxing and the beds are super comfortable. The staff are lovely and friendly. Agree with previous reviews about the water pressure in the shower, but thats still no reason to rate down from 10/10.
- Steve (1/5): - Nothing The property was misrepresented in the advertisement. We booked the property for 3 adults.
- The property is advertised as a 2 bedroom unit. The configuration of the bedrooms allows for a couple with small children, the second bedroom is accessed through the main with bunk beds. There is no separate entry for the second bedroom. This is not acceptable for 3 adults
- The property advertises that there is a kitchenette to allow for self catering. Given the advertisement we purchased groceries with the aim to cook our own meals. There is an air fryer and a microwave, no oven or hotplates. One can hardly cook an evening meal or cater for a stay of several days with these facilities
- The accommodation is a converted colorbond shed, not a purpose built accommodation unit
- The BBQ was inadequate to cook an evening meal, rusted and not sure of the cleanliness
- The property advertised a fire pit, not sure where that was
In summary, we arrived and inspected the property and decided that it was less than adequate. We didn't stay there but sourced alternative accommodation at an additional cost. We, and I as a travelling business person have booked through your website many, many times, and have always been happy with our accommodation, however in this instance we were let down and we are now out of pocket $660 to secure alternative accommodation, so as well as the accommodation cost of this property we had to, at last minute, find something else. We could not stay at this property as it did not meet our needs, even though we were quite specific as to who the attendees were.
It is very disappointing, I have to question how thoroughly these properties are vetted before being allowed to be listed. I would ne er recommend this property.
I look forward to your response
- Theo (10/5): - Nice location every thing you needed supplied was kept well and looked after Everything was 10 out of 10
- Paul (9/5): -
- Jurgen (8/5): very unusual set up, but good and affordable - Location is hart to find , but OK once you made it.
Speciose Unit
Nice simple Breakfast provided
Very Good WIFI There were only 3 Dinner Plates in the Kitchen (we were 4)
No cloth Dryer , Good Washing machine -Yes
- Donna (9/5): Really loved all facilities, extras for breakfast were a very welcome and appreciated . Would highly recommend as accom - Location, peaceful, reasonable price We were two couples and didn’t enjoy bedrooms being adjoined , no privacy! Bedrooms need a window as no ventilation and very hot.
- Kenneth (10/5): Centrally located Barossa Valley stay that spacious for a family. - Just around the corner of some lovely vineyards and very close to Lyndoch and Tanunda where there are plenty of shops. The facilities are nice and modern with temperature controlled hot water. Nice hot showers! Nothing not to like, but if anything the pool is not heated 😊
- Alicia (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful location, the cottage had super convenient facilities and great heating. It was everything we needed!
- Lynne (10/5): It was perfect location style all great - All great Nothing
- Vienna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenton (7/5): Good -
- Regina (7/5): Good -
- Tiesha (10/5): Exceptional - It was a peaceful little place, the owner is absolutely lovely, the place was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. I definitely will be back for another stay 😀 Absolutely nothing bad to say about it
- Renee (9/5): The name of this accomodation really does sum up our stay! It truely was a little paradise! - My daughter and I had an amazing visit to lamberts little paradise. We hadn’t been able to do much during the school holidays so we took a chance on this location and I couldn’t be happier. We had the whole property to ourselves the first day/night. Was so relaxing and peaceful. Even with others staying on a site for the second night we still felt very comfortable with enough room to co-exist. We spent a lot of time in the pool, doing puzzles inside with the activities provided and watching movies on the included streaming services! The beds were very comfy and Stephen was amazing..great communication and very accomodating :) oh and the air con was great in the warm weather!! Wasn’t much we didn’t like but the shower was difficult in the cabin due to the hot and cold temps being temperamental and the water pressure though out the property being super low! But otherwise I was very impressed and will definitely stay again :)
- Sarkar (8/5): Very good -
- Ling (8/5): Good for families - Self contained granny flat. 2 bedrooms. Bathroom, lounge and kitchen area. Perfect for my family. They had supplied a lot of things such as insect repellant, insect spray, hats etc. the communal pool/bbq area was a treat. It's hidden near all the wineries which is perfect. Also well lit at night when trying to make your way home. The place is a bit dated but still very comfortable and clean
- Allisa (7/5): Ideal for what we needed and pretty cheap for the location. - very peaceful location, pool looked lovely though not warm enough for a swim.
The cottage has everything we needed, including a washing machine which was awesome.
Very convenient for wineries which was the purpose of our visit. The cottage could do with a good clean
- Fiona (9/5): Wonderful weekend away. Wish we could of stayed longer! - The residence was very nice and comfortable. The beds were comfy. The pool and outdoor area was amazing! Our family had a great time! It was in a great location. Very close to Tanunda (shops) Would highly recommend. Thanks for the perfect getaway. Can't wait to stay here again.
- Ruth (9/5): Superb - Great value for money. Good location, quiet, safe, the pool was really awesome. The studio had all the amenities we would need and more cooking facilities than mentioned...eg there is a job and air fryer and griddle so lots of options. Nil
- Michelle (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, close to lots of good wineries. The place could do with a deep clean.
- Ian (9/5): Barossa Highlight - Great location that provided good access to Barossa locations of interest. The owner's response to any assistance needed was quickly responded to and resolved. Would recommend the location of stay to family and friends.
- Chitra (10/5): A perfect cozy stay - It was a small cozy house and the swimming pool in the front is beautiful. The place had all the basic amenities which makes it perfect for a family trip.
- Laura (7/5): Good - Good living area. Fantastic outside space. Second bedroom needs air conditioning, fan or window as with the door shut it becomes too hot due to no air flow. As the room is accessed through the main bedroom door needed to be closed to allow for privacy.
- Anthony (9/5): Clean, spacious, quiet facility great for a small group or two couples. - Three of us spent two nights at Lambert's Little Paradise. It was a great base for us to explore Adelaide and the Barossa. Would recommend to others! The shower had minimal pressure, but that's a pretty first-world problem.
- Romano (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): It was super cool and i would stay there again.Beautiful. - It was very quiet and very cosy.Perfect for 3 women. It was easy to find. The only thing was the milk and butter was out of date but didnt matter as we had our own
- Tom (10/5): Great stay in the middle of the wineries ! -
