• Becky (10/5): Ideal base for exploring the area - We stayed in Gemas apartment in La Carihuela just before the Easter holidays and couldn't have had a nicer time. The apartment is ideally located on the 1st floor with lift access if required. It is a brilliant sized apartment, albeit with a standard double bed and small and somewhat tired shower. The bathroom is a very comfortable size, along with an open kitchen and lounge area and a good-sized balcony, with very comfortable seating. The balcony caught the late morning/early evening sun and was lovely to read and enjoy a coffee/wine on. Unfortunately, the balcony doesn't have a view, but that's expected for the price point. The apartment is ideally located in the La Carihuela area and was only a short walk to Torremolinos town & train station, where a 20min train to Malaga can be caught or up the promenade to Benalmadena and the Marina. It was our first time in the area, but we would definitely use this apartment as a base in the future. The communication from Gema was brilliant prior to and during our stay. There is a pool, although closed during our stay, and we didn’t actually locate it to view or comment further. Gemas son collected us from the airport after a very late flight and delivered us directly to the apartment for a small fee, which made check-in very seamless. We are C@tholics, and the small town church is located a 5-minute walk away and is very welcoming. We were gutted to have missed H0ly Week and the Seman@ Sant@ celebrations, but we hope to visit again for these in the future. I have had to edit this review due to t&c of booking.com flagging certain words. I hope this now makes the cut. The shower enclosure is somewhat tired and could do with updating. The shower itself is perfectly adequate, though, and offers good temperature and water pressure. The pillows could have been improved, and personal preference is a thicker duvet, but I like to be warm and cosy in bed.

• Harper (10/5): We went for a quiet winter holiday and got one. - The location is fine. There are lots of shops (supermarkets) and restaurants around. Public transport was good. We did not need to hire a car. It was cold, but the cold weather covered the whole of Europe not just Torremolinos.

The apartment itself is in an excellent location, central to all attractions and amenities. It was presented in very clean condition with all home from home necessities. Best of all though. Tiendas cerca de todo lo que busques. En cuanto al apartamento está súper bien equipado,tiene de todo y super limpio,al entrar olía a desinfección y limpieza . La dueña Gemma,un encanto nos dio recomendaciones de todo ,nos mando sitios en los que poder comer y cosas destacadas de ver en los alrededores,un encanto la verdad . Lo recomiendo 1000.
• Denis (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything! The apartment seems to have absolutely everything you might need for a comfortable stay: dishes, appliances for laundry, ironing, and cooking. A pleasant surprise were the extras like a beach umbrella (even though we brought our own), beach chairs, and toys for kids. Basically, all you need is a swimsuit and a good mood — everything else is already there. It really feels like home! I also want to highlight the host: although we never met in person, she was always available online, and the video instructions for the apartment were clear and super helpful -

The host provided beach chairs, which was a real bonus as we prefer these to sun beds. I would have liked good quality towels and bedding. I did feel they were a little below what I expected.

• Marta (10/5): A fantastic seaside holiday - The apartament in Torremolinos is great for a relaxing seaside holiday:) With a deli just downstairs, it is only a 2 minute walk from a beautiful Carihuela beach and a nice walking lane along the coast by which you can have a nice stroll to another neighbouring seaside resort Benalmadena (ca.20 min. on foot).The flat is very well equipped, clean and cosy, and has a spacious terrace which is sunny all day long (very pleasant to relax or eat breakfast there). Gema the owner is really nice and helpful, we felt most welcome from the moment we landed:) Just round the corner there is a bus stop where you can get a bus going frequently to Malaga (30 min ride to Malaga Centre for just 1,60 EUR per person). A big plus is a 24/7 reception where you can collect or leave the key any time). We had a fantastic Spanish holiday:)
