Guest Reviews
- Stanislav (10/5): Fantastic place next to the lake - + location
+ interior
+ fully equipped kitchen
+ comfy beds
- Emma (9/5): - A perfect cozy cottage on the lake for a family trip! Very clean and comfortable and with lots of fun things to do around the cottage - board games, canoe, and a great space for a bonfire and to sit outside with a beautiful view. Close to Algonquin park and other hiking trails. Weather was beautiful, not too many bugs in late April.
Eric is great as well, answered quickly to any questions. Overall, we were so happy with this stay!!

- Julian (9/5): Ideal for a family (three generations) retreat to a lakeside cabin. - Traditional cabin vibe. The seasonal mosquitos when outside.
- Jon (10/5): Rustic cabin in a fantastic location by the lake - Fantastic location, right on the lake and so quiet. After visiting Toronto and Montreal we needed some down time and this place was just what we wanted. Sitting on the jetty at night looking at the Milky Way and drinking around the fire pit with my family are things that will stay with me for a long time. The cabin is about 25 mins outside of the little town of Bancroft which was lovely, great brewery/beers, and has a big Foodland store to get your BBQ stuff to use back at the property. There was a canoe and 2 paddle boards to take out on the lake and although the water was quite cold it was clean and safe to swim in. The cabin was very functional and quite small but it was perfect for our needs and to be honest we didn't spend much time inside the property, we were outside from sun up and well into the night enjoying the great outdoors. There is no AC, there are ceiling fans in some of the rooms, but it didn't feel too hot inside the cabin probably because of its proximity to the lake and the woods around it. Nothing really, the location more than made up for any minor issues.
There were mosquitos around in the evenings but they didn't cause us too much trouble and as long as you use plenty of bug spray you should be ok.
The property is a little tricky to find, look out for the number 40 sign, and the road leading up to it is unpaved, hilly and a bit narrow, I switched to 4WD when I got there.
The only disappointment I had was that I didn't see any bears or moose whilst I was in the area, although some people may say that was a bonus.
- Rasmus (7/5): Great location with beautifull lake view but rather worn down house - Beautifull view over the lake. Great bathing bridge right out to the lake and with canoe and paddle boards available to explore the lake and surrounding area. Rather worn down house and many mosquitos which were very difficult to keep out of the house despite the nets at all windows and door openings. Not possible to be outside in the evening due to mosquitos.
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - They property was beautiful and the cottage had everything you need for an amazing weekend. The only suggestion I would say would be to have an outdoor table to be able to enjoy eating outside but other than for that your property is perfect.
- Babak (6/5): Good location but badly maintained - Location was good, and there are couple of cool stuff such as canoe, books, puzzle games, etc. There was no crib for baby sleeping. The electric kettle was rusty and coffee maker was not very clean to be used. Although the closest store to the location is 25minutes away, there were no sugar, milk/cream cups for coffee. The drains were clogged, while there is a $200 cleaning fee on each booking, which absolutely seems strange.
