Guest Reviews
- Eugene (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Peaceful, restful, homely and perfectly located - We had a wonderful stay, a perfect base to explore Nova Scotia. The property was cosy and secluded, very clean and had everything you could need home from home. 100% recommend this property.
- Joshua (10/5): Beautiful lakeside location with pristine and comfortable cottage. - The location was amazing and the cottage was clean and comfortable. The cottage was fully stocked with great supplies, kitchen amenities, and other things to help visitors relax and enjoy their time. The unpaved road was difficult to navigate as there was a lot of rain/water.
- Ashley (10/5): Fantastic Private Cottage - This cottage was so nice and private !! Great for families and the furr kids !! Cottage was very clean, everything you would need provided. Loved having the open concept and 2 bathrooms. The only thing was, the water was very shallow here. Had to walk a long ways to get to deep water for swimming but that cant be helped.
- Kenneth (10/5): Relaxation at its finest with all the comforts of home!!! - Perfect country setting. So quiet and private, made it an absolute perfect place to relax. The wood stove was an added bonus and everything we needed and more was at your fingertips. We are already booking our next stay and I can’t wait!
- David (10/5): - It’s super quiet the view of the lake make it more relaxing
- Gayle (10/5): Overall it was a lovely peaceful stay and we would go again. - Watching the snow fall on the lake while sitting inside by the woodstove. Very peaceful and pretty Although the address states the cottage is in Mahone Bay, it is actually near New Ross. However, had i checked the Google map provided carefully while booking i would have realized this

- Susan (9/5): A beautiful, relaxing place. - The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The location was beautiful There was some confusion with cleaning the property before our arrival. Once we checked in at the agreed time we realised that the accommodation had not been cleaned and the beds were unmade. We called a number provided to reach the care taker. He came and cleaned and made up the beds.
- Madisen (10/5): Incredible and serene. Would love to stay again - It’s a beautiful spot. Very private and peaceful It was warm (heat wave)
- Shirley (10/5): We really enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage on a great lake. - Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location on a lovely lake. Had everything that you would need and more besides. It was by far the best cottage that we have stayed in and hopefully able to stay again. Nothing
- Adams (10/5): Absolutely wonderful. So peaceful and tranquil. - Extremely easy. All information is emailed prior to arrival.
- Jennifer (10/5): A charming, cozy, cabin nestled in nature made for a perfect fall getaway. - The cabin was very clean, very cozy, and well-stocked with pretty much anything you might need. The king size bed was super comfortable. We stayed in October and used the wood stove which kept us toasty warm and there was electric heat as back up. The location is private, beautiful, and nestled in nature. We spent a lot of time staring out at the lake, the vibrant fall colors, the moon, and the sunsets. There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like! A couple of tips though to help other visitors:
1. The water is drinkable but has a metallic taste so you might want to bring bottled water.
2. You do travel about 20 minutes on a gravel road but it was well- maintained when we drove it - just go slowly. Far fewer potholes than the city streets of Halifax! It can feel a little like you’re in the middle of nowhere on that road but the Google map directions get you there perfectly and the pay-off is worth it!
3. That said, make sure you stock up on supplies with the last stop in New Ross as it’s not a quick run to a store.
4. I don’t know whether it’s Booking.com that lists this property as in Mahone Bay but I feel
that’s a bit misleading because it’s not very close at all. You can certainly drive to Chester or Mahone Bay for a day trip but it’s an hour’s
drive. New Ross is the closest community.
- Christopher (9/5): Brilliant property for restful break especially if you like fishing or boating - Lovely roomy wooden cottage, right next to a beautiful lake. Trees around the lake were in spectacular colour in October. Very quiet and peaceful. Bed was very large and comfortable and shower rooms great. Lounge was large and kitchen had everything we needed. Lovely veranda to sit on with a glass of really nice wine which was provided 😊. Heating was very good although did not need it much as weather was very good most of the time. Quite a long gravel road 10/11km which you can only drive on very slowly and this makes it quite a long journey to nearby shops. You really need to get groceries on your way to the property or on your visits out. We did find the cottage inside a bit dark but this was in October and I am sure summer months are better. It was posted as Mahone Bay address but it takes at least 45 minutes to get there or to Bridgewater. SUV is essential.
