- Jessica (1/5): DO NOT RENT!!!! SERIOUS SAFETY AND HEALTH CONCERNS WARNING - ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and FALSE ADVERT - It was close to a different location I needed to attend for a Wedding WARNING DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE!!!!
EVERYTHING - THE PICTURES ARENT EVEN ACCURATE FOR WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN THE HOUSE, THE GARDEN VIEW IS OBSTRUCTED AND GARDENS WERE.COMPLETELY DEAD and full of weeds ALSO (BACK DOOR FACING GARDEN IS COMPLETELY ROPED OFF BECAUSE THE STAIRS AND BALCONY IS COMPLETELY ROTTED AWAY AND A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD - BACK DOOR ALSO HAS A MASSIVE ANT INFESTATION IN IT AND AROUND IT, AND IS ROTTING AWAY...
A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IS EVERY EXIT DOOR WAS DEADBOLT LOCKED - WHICH IS A MASSIVE FIRE SAFETY HAZARD AND ALSO ILLEGAL.
THE HOUSE HAS A BUG INFESTATION AND I NOW HAVE SCARS ALL OVER ONE KNEE ANDNOTHER PLACES FROM HOW BADLY I WAS ATTACKED
THE SHOWER HAD HALF USED AND EMPTY SHAMPOO BOTTLES (NOT FOR GUEST USE TYPE ONES) LEFT IN IT.... THE PLACE IS COVERED IN HOLES IN WALLS, MARKS ALL OVER WALLS, GENERALLY DUSTY AND NOT MAINTAINED TO A DECENT STANDARD AT ALL
WE EVEN HAD TO MOVE FURNITURE.JUST TO CLOSE THE BEDROOM DOOR BECAUSE THE FURNITURE DOESNT FIT IN THE ROOM PROPERLY
THE OWNERS REFUSED TO REFUND OR DO ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUES - I HAVE ALL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS AS PROOF ALSO AND AM HAPPY TO SEND THEM TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE!
I HAVE ALSO PUT THIS ALL OVER ALL SOCIAL PLATFORMS AND LEFT REVIEWS WITH EVERYWHERE AND HAVE ALSO REPORTED THIS AS A FIRE AND SAFETY HAZARD AND ALL ISSUES TO BOOKING.COM REGARDING THIS DISGUSTING PLACE
- Phoebe (1/5): Overpriced for an unclean house that is falling apart and a safety hazard. - The location was convenient as we were attending a wedding nearby. You can walk to cafes and restaurants on the main street. The pictures are nothing like the property. The cleanliness of the house was a joke - there was mould on the couch cushions, a broken towel rack in the very outdated bathroom, the shower was full of mould and the toilet was not clean. We were left half a roll of toilet paper to share between four people. The walls were filthy, the bedding was musty and the exterior of the house was practically falling apart. There was only a single smoke alarm in the entire property and you can see where the ones had been taken down in each room. There were brick pillars that were fallen down and crumbling outside the front door. It is an overpriced safety hazard at best and there are many better places to stay in the same area for the same price.

- Jamie (4/5): - The location and proximity to the gallery walk was great, the house and gardens were in poor condition. Photos were at least 6 years old. The property has not looked like it does in those photos for a long time. The grounds were unkept overgrown and the house is in desperate need of maintenance and refurbishment with the same old furniture from the 2020 photos.
- Michelle (10/5): - Beautiful property, and in a great location
- Michelle (9/5): - Great location - close to Gallery Walk.
Although house is older, layout was sufficient, beds comfortable and grounds/gardens fabulous to explore.
- julie (8/5): - Excellent location for us
- Dave Young (5/5): 2 days was enough - Just ok,Very old, steps broken, doors nailed shut... Just passable .... See above
- Sally (8/5): -
- Carole (5/5): - Pleasant area and great location Old facilities, poor cleaning
- Mark (4/5): Disappointing. - We loved the location.
The beds were clean and comfortable but the pillows were appalling. The cottage was run down and unloved. With only one exit available to us it didn't feel safe.
There was a laundry but no clothes line, only a track. Outdoor area was very basic and unappealing.
On the booking site we were told there was a complementary bottle of wine. It was nowhere to be seen.
A very disappointing stop on our trip. Not recommended!!
- Cheryl (3/5): - Like I said to you in the email I sent to you
The house was nothing that was posted up on booking .com
We only had excess to 2 doors the rest of the doors n balcony was unsafe area where they had it all taped up
The furniture outside was disgusting they were old n rusted .. microwave power point didn’t work n no bottle of wine that was advertised on arrival
The house was nothing where the value
- Jo (9/5): - Fabulous gardens Rooms were spacious
- Sefton (10/5): The person we initially met ‘Lee’ was very inviting and accomodating. It was a wonderful relaxing experience. - Exceptionally beautiful gardens, such a warm cosy feeling to the house. It was large and spacious and they had heaters in every room due to it being winter. Absolutely nothing.
- Naaz (8/5): Great Location - Location is excellent Needs updating
- croker (2/5): -
- Eva (9/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): - Location and homeliness The main bedroom mattress was very hard
- Sean (2/5): If we could have left and found somewhere else to stay at short notice we would have. Not fit to rent out. - Close to attractions Dirty, house falling apart literally.
Back stairs broken, brick columns fallen and lying in entrance. Lawn not mowed. No good security lighting. Furniture dirty.
- Madison (8/5): Very good -
- Adams (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): Beautiful home, peaceful and quiet area, stunning views. -
- Johnny (1/5): Bad -
- Vickie (2/5): Great location, disappointing accommodation - Close to town centre Very run down, mouldy bathroom, needs repairs
- Elizabeth (1/5): From the minute we arrived this property was horrendous. There are no kind words I have for this place other than the lo - Location was central
- Desley (3/5): No water pressure/outdated - How close it was to
wedding venue. Water pressure was horrible, couldn't even have a shower. Shower had mould in, plates were not clean, something black on some plates. 1 bed was very hard the other very soft. All furniture is dated and the lounge needs a good wash or replaced, Something black maybe mould near the fridge. Only 1 teaspoon 😪
- Phillip (8/5): Lavender house - The water pressure , No curtain in the lounge room, couldn't keep the sun out in the afternoon
- Stephen (6/5): Great location and good value for money, but not very clean. - Great location, close to gallery walk. Nice and peaceful view out over the property. Good value for money. All appliances provided and in good working order. Not very clean - floors, particularly under tables and beds had not been cleaned at all and there were muddy footprints in the laundry. The air fryer hadn't been cleaned after last use. While there were dehumidifiers in the rooms after the recent rain, there was still some mould on the walls, and one of the cushions was mouldy. Low water pressure.
- Barry (3/5): A little disappointed. - Close to the main shopping area, and there is lovely restaurant called The Manor just across the road.
Quite private.
Someone commented that there were no WiFi instructions, but there were instructions in the entrance when we stayed. We received a pin code, but no instructions on the button sequence that needed to be pressed, or that you have to wait about a second while the lock retracts. Took a few attempts, but we got it in the end. Turns out you have to enter the pin code then press the "QuikSet" button, and wait a second while the door unlocks. To lock it, you just press the "QuickSet" button. easy enough once you work it out.
A note on the back of the door says "do not use this lock", whereas we worked out that they meant to say "do not use the bottom lock".
There was a lot of mould embedded into doors and window sills. There was also mould growing on the cutting board. Pillows smelled of either dust or mould. Quite a few broken things, like a towel holder in the bathroom, sticking doors etc.
The gardens were quite overgrown, and not well maintained. They look better in the pictures. Grass was long, but there had been a lot of rain, so it may not have been possible to mow.
- Angus (3/5): Poor - Hard to get in contact in relation to keys. Very tired furnishings and upkeep.
- Jutta (4/5): A disappointing stay - Location was very convenient to the Gallery Walk. The accommodation was in disrepair. The collapsed brickwork outside and the completely disintegrated sun umbrella at the front door should have been a sign.
Once inside, there were lights that didn't work, things in the washing machine, dryer didn't spin, and the coffee table collapsed when we tried to slide it slightly out of the way. The cooktop only partially worked, and the cups in the cupboard weren't clean. This was possibly due to the fact that there was no dishwashing liquid provided.
During the night, 2 slats came crashing to the ground from the bed my child was sleeping in. When we removed the mattress to replace the slats, we discovered that the bed was taped together with sticky tape.
Fortunately, we had only booked one night. We certainly wouldn't have stayed a second night.
It wouldn't take much to get this place to an acceptable standard. Hopefully, these things are addressed so the next person has a better experience.
We didn't take photos of the accommodation but we did take a photo of the bed held together with stickytape. In hindsight, that may have been helpful for anyone considering booking.
- Susan (4/5): The pics on the site do not depict the true appearance of the property which is a shame because its location is great - It was close to where we needed to be and was clean inside On arrival there were brick piers in pieces at the entrance. None of the stairs were usable as full of dry rot and unsafe. The landing was the only way in and it was dirty. A family could not stay here. It needs a lot of work outside. There was no instructions on how to lock the combination lock on the front door when leaving. The coffee table is unsafe as it is not glued or screwed at all. The corners move if you rest your feet on the bottom shelf.
- Carolyn (7/5): Very big good value for money, only bad thing was one bed was very uncomfortable - Good size One of the beds very uncomfortable
- Karissa (8/5): Comfortable, with a great location! - Great location! So close to the gallery walk with cafes and pubs. Very central to everything in Mt Tamborine. I recommend bringing all the necessities (shampoo, body wash, chux) as not much is provided. Also, no way to access the wifi was given, but on the whole, this location was great value for money.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shenoa (9/5): Very comfortable stay - view of the garden was pretty
- Halter (5/5): Beautiful area and estate, the building needs a lot of work, the fridge was health risk - Location was fantastic No Dishwasher
Coffee table falling apart
A lot of light switches did not work
Fridge had Prawn juice on the bottom shelf and into the vegetable crisper (and we had someone with an alergy)
And 3 bags of prawn shells were sitting in Freezer
- Amanda (7/5): Good -
- Patrina (7/5): Good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (3/5): Good location but very unclean. - Great location and surrounds on the property. Level of cleanliness was exceptionally disappointing, particularly as a sizable cleaning fee was added to my booking after I initially booked. The house had a weird smell to it and was generally unclean. For example, there was mould in the shower and food scraps still on the chopping boards from previous guests (I could go on). There was so much dust that affected allergies of a number of members of our group that we had to leave early the following morning just to get away from the dust. General maintenance needed review with light not working in one of the bedrooms.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Great option for a stay on the mountain. 5 min walk to the Gallery Walk, so an excellent location. Very clean property, very happy with our stay.
- Diana (5/5): Probably value for money, but please address the coffee plunger - that is vital!!! - The key code was easy but we were not advised to press the top button as well. The house is well located and comfortable enough, considering its age. They did leave a bottle of wine and also there was soap and some toiletries provided. The view of the gardens was also lovely There were several things missing that we considered vital in accommodation setting. These include (highest on the list!) is a coffee plunger, basic condiments such as salt and pepper, a little oil, and sugar. We were prepared with coffee but there was no means to make it, and no sugar sachets. Also no hairdryer which is usually a common inclusion. The worst for my clients though were the beds, it was like being Goldilocks and having to try all the beds. One was super hard, and she needed to use a different one after sleeping poorly on the hard surface. The single was also very squeaky and disruptive. The lounge furniture is dated (chairs comfortable) but not very clean, the couch a dreadful fabric and not clean either, and the coffee table rickety. There was only ONE teaspoon and the kitchen had no oven tray and only one rack. The toilet is old and stained therefor not clean presentation but I ma sure it was. There were also no games, playing cards and other little things that you would normally find the holiday accommodation. The linen is old and dated but clean. The piece de resistance was the dirty, paper towel-covered tray hiding on the top of the overhead cupboards, I am guessing this was the oven tray but it has NOT been cleaned so we just put it back! The outdoor seating very old and that area could be so nice to sit outside in the early mornings but it is poorly furnished with old and ugly furniture that was hard and uncomfortable.
- Hargrave (8/5): Very relaxing farm house great location. Bottle of red wine on our arrival. Could of stayed a week -
- Ai (7/5): My daughter’s wedding prep base for the family. Plus the photo opportunities - Lavender yard was a brilliant place for wedding photos Just purely close to the town/venue for the wedding, and opportunity of the photo shoot
- Tracey (4/5): Overall property suited our purpose and a great location. House itself needs updating and refreshing especially the bath - Great location, beautiful grounds We arrived later than we originally nominated as checkin. And when we did there were a couple exiting the house. Queried if they were checking out and if we were in the right place and they were very dismissive and in a hurry to get away. Pin worked so assumed we were in the right place. Tried to contact the owner a couple of times and ended up messaging them after no avail.
Light didn’t work in 1 of the bedrooms, hallway light failed on the first night. Linen in the main room smelt almost Smokey, and toilet wasn’t clean and shower was quite dated.
Property could do with a little investment.
- Tennille (7/5): Good - Great location, beautiful to overlook the gardens and easy enjoyable walk to Gallery Walk. Beds were not comfy, hardly slept. Although the house was clean their was a lot of dust, and the shower had some mould. The furniture needs a bit of a revamp or a deep clean. It would also be lovely if their was an outdoor dinning option.
- Wong (10/5): Exceptional - Nice view, nice location
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Kochanski (4/5): Cheap but better than the outdoors. - Looking out over the living room and seeing out to the gorgeous gardens. The gardens, though not kept well, they had a Secret Garden vibe it. the location was close to everything you needed. Would suggest booking all your restaurant reservations in this area though. We ended up getting Take Away as the only option. We arrived to an unlocked house, and the cleaner was still putting out towels and cleaning. The floors still had popcorn and dust on it, and the living room rug is so old and stained... just burn it. The towels were rolled up and damp on the beds. Bathroom had rust in a lot of areas and a towel rack falling apart. The kitchen cabinets had some holes in it but had everything you needed. It was clear by the comfort of the furniture that it was all cheap or leftovers. You can feel the springs in all the chairs and beds. The Linen was clean but the pillows were old, had no shape, and had sweat stains when I inspected them. We ended up collecting them to get a good night's sleep. I don't like giving bad reviews but from the outside to the inside, this place was clearly cheap and every piece of furniture was crap. The rusted outdoor furniture, pot of weeds and paint buckets on the outside really say the owner doesn't care much. The Grant Burge Wine was an excellent choice though!
- Louise (8/5): Very good - Proximity to main street and walking tracks (Fall walks) was excellent. We parked the car and barely got in it for the rest of the weekend The beds left a lot to be desired! Especially one of the single beds, it was so noisy/squeaky that I couldn't literally move an inch without setting off the noise, I barely slept because of this and my room mate was also disturbed by the noise. One of the other beds (room off the lounge) was described as rock hard.
No power points in the bedroom off the lounge area - strange
- Renee (8/5): Excellent location - Location Hard beds
- Judith (7/5): The weather was very cold, but the house was warm, comfortable and convenient. - A lot of extras were supplied that we appreciated like wine, fruit, many heaters, dressing gowns, cleaning products, choice of teas and quilts. The view was beautiful. We knew it was an old house, but we enjoyed our stay there.
- Manjinder (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (8/5): Very good - Was lovely environment
- Vercoe (5/5): Passable - Great location. The gardens were really lovely and peaceful. We appreciated the bottle of wine, fruit, milk, tea and coffee provided. It got a little cold but the heaters, blankets and robes kept us all warm. Unfortunately the beds and pillows were really uncomfortable, so myself and the 3 other adults had a terrible night sleep. One of the bedrooms had mouldy curtains. The grass outside was very muddy and there wasn't much gravel to park the cars. It was quite challenging to communicate effectively with the host regarding an early check in. However we were allowed and it was very much appreciated.
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (5/5): Lavender Cottage - Location was very good. Cottage is stand alone therefore private. Large bedrooms and kitchen/dining areas. The home lacked maintenance, several light globes weren't working. There was a broken window in the kitchen, light fittings needed cleaning, tv remote was hit and miss (batteries maybe?) and furniture worn. Very dirty fan in toilet!
- Darren (4/5): Very average. - Location was great and so was the size of the house. The place was unclean. The lounge chairs were dirty. They had a band-aid holding the batteries in for the TV remote. Several light bulbs were blown. The outside of the house as very untidy with weeds everywhere and quite messy. It appears this house needs maintenance and the owners appear to be ignoring it. So it certainly wasn't value for money with the high nightly charge. Quite disappointing.
- Inna (10/5): Beautiful cottage with stunning gardens all around. Plenty of space for kids to run around. - Beautiful cottage in a stunning well established garden setting with lavender, avocado and macadamia trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. Comfortable beds and the cottage had everything we needed for a short stay. It was nice and clean and large fridge perfect for a family. 3 bedrooms and even a laundry which we didn’t use. Close to all the local attractions, restaurants and walks. Highly recommend and would totally come back to stay again!
- Zara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing - The view was amazing
The house was very homey
- Anne (9/5): Superb - 3 bed cottage in great location with kitchen, laundry room and nearby shops and cafés. Kettle leaked! Told it will be replaced.
- Yuan (10/5): Great stay that was a highlight of our trip - The house was clean and well equipped with all necessary amenities. Located in a convenient area with shops a few minutes drive away. House was spacious and comfortable with great greenery surrounding it.
We didn't receive any check in instructions and communication from the host before arrival due to booking.com message system being down. But the host knew of our arrival and made the process seamless once we arrived. Found a leaking bag of sugar possibly from the previous guests that should have been thrown out. Nothing much to fault on.
- Kenny (8/5): It was comfortable and serene. - The location was absolutely stunning. The cottage was so homely and cosy. The front door veranda area looks a little run down, but the inside is gorgeous.
- Michelle (8/5): Very happy with the little cottage, it was perfect for what we needed. - The cottage was nice and on a beautiful block of land situated walking distance to the Gallery Walk.
It has plenty of room, clean and tidy. There are a few minor maintenance issues, but nothing major, it is very liveable how it is.
- Jacquie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Naomi (3/5): Unfortunately a disappointing and complicated weekend, as we had to vacate early and move somewhere else due to owner er - Private property, good location.
- Sabika (7/5): Nice view - Open and more greenry Toilet need to be clean and install one wash besan in toilet.
- Hussnain (10/5): Quite and beautiful place - The Manager (Gigi) was very cooperative and helpful.
Due to the natural disaster (heavy storms) at Mount Tambourine , we were able to stay 2 out of 7 nights.I am very thankful that we got refunded for the 5 nights. The property was nice with spacious rooms and fully equipped kitchen. All the necessary stuff for the house was provided.
Only the TV was outdated and internet was very slow. Hopefully you(Gigi) may think of upgrading.
