Guest Reviews
- Russell (9/5): Good stay. Bathroom great but could be more private. - Fascinating location. Rich in Flora and Fauna Some kind of place to go for a short walk with the dog without skirting a dangerous road.
- Gareth (10/5): Mountain views! - Loved the mountain setting quite unique; the unit was very spacious and comfortable and the wood burner was such a bonus. Loved it! A king bed is always nice, but it didn't take from our wonderful stay .
- Paul (10/5): Peerfect - Where do I start.
An absolute gem in the bush found on our last night of two weeks in Tassie... bugger.
Shower, bathroom toilet area. I once owned a very expensive home on a river that didn't come close to this. What this family offer on tank water and gas is soul building. Knowing I had to fly back to Townsville that day after experiencing that was soul destroying.
Just do it says it all. Loved it. The red breasted wrens that were everywhere wouldn't let me get a good shot of them.
Absolutely loved the place.
- Nigel (7/5): nice overnight stay - detached from house so nice and quiet. some road noise during the peak times, driveway was very difficult to turn in with a ute
- Jenny (10/5): Homestay Hideaway - Everything! This studio was so comfortable to stay in,. Wish we had been there for a longer time. Rustic on the outside with beautiful views and modern inside. Loved the bathroom 😊 Kitchen setup had everything we needed and the bed was so comfy. Claire was great at keeping in touch. Would definitely recommend this hideaway. Nothing...everything..was so good here
- Melanie (9/5): Superb - This is a beautiful cabin stay, tucked away in the bush but so close to the Bruny Island Ferry and other surroumding sights. Very comfortable, clean, a huge bathroom, cooktop and all decorated so beautifully. Well equipped for a great stay. The complimentary fresh eggs were delicious and very appreciated. Thankyou

- Ruth (9/5): Tranquil space for 2 in a beautiful setting - Loved the setting, the thoughtfully styled room and comfortable bed. Was perfect for an overnight stay.
Appreciated the eggs though we didn't get to cook them. A coffee plunger or other espresso device would be great.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jp (9/5): Comfy and private - Private and secluded. Even though it is right next door to the main residence we felt like we were alone.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sangna (10/5): Great location if you’re planning to take a ferry to Bruny island. The studio was clean and comfortable. - Comfortable and cozy.
- Amanda (9/5): Comfortable stay. - Very much enjoyed our one night Hopkins Homestead. Warm fire on arrival, small kitchenette and lovely and clean. The bed was comfortable, but noisy to sleep on.
- Pasquale (8/5): Very good - Cosy and comfortable. Wonderful views to the surrounding hillside during the morning and star scape during the night. Wood fire very effective at heating the space.
- Tyson (10/5): The best one-night stay I ever had! - Clare & Justin were so accommodating. This is one of the best-kept gems of the Kettering/Nichols Rivulet area. Tucked away and isolated from neighbouring properties. It has tranquil peace and quiet and is super warm & snug. You could live here for extended periods, in a heartbeat! Could not recommendation highly enough.
The access to Bruny Ferry is easy (with a vehicle) and has some of Tasmania's best rural landscapes just moments away. Check out Ye Olde Oyster Cove (fresh produce store) on the drive-in to get your fresh food supplies. There was nothing we didn't like about the place. The hosts were great and the listing was spot on.
- Jennifer (7/5): Lovely cottage in a Peaceful setting. - We didn't mind being out of town as we had a car and the view of the hills and sheep roaming was lovely.
We loved the birds which visited the garden. It was a lovely setting. A birdbath would be a nice addition.
The cottage is cute with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom.
The wood heater was an added bonus and much appreciated. The BBQ needing cleaning and the outdoor chairs were covered in dog hair.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. Combustion heater, wood and fire starter supplied, large bathroom and comfortable bed.
Kitchen handy.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (10/5): Such gratitude for providing a beautiful place to stay and relax after all our travelling ! - It was such a surprise and delight to stay there. What a gem! . We wished we could have stayed there longer but our time was limited . Thank you for all the thoughtful ways you spent in providing everything we needed .. and more, especially the 2 fresh farm eggs! Congratulations on your Farm stay . We can't recommend it highly enough!🌹🌹 Absolutely nothing !
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Yuliang (9/5): Superb - A very good place for stay if you will take the ferry next morning. A more obvious sign will be better.
- Yukiko (10/5): Relaxed - It’s in beautiful countryside
Owners are very nice, they even send message during the stay to make sure everything is ok.
Complimentary eggs were tasty🙂 Not much.
I’d love a bit stronger water pressure on shower but it is not a drama. Bathroom was new, clean and pretty anyway.
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional - Location was beautiful, and the studio itself well furnished, stylish and comfortable. The kitchenette was well appointed with lovely amenities in the bathroom. The hosts gave amazing recommendations for food and activities in the area. On a cold evening there was the option for a sit on the deck (and a fire heater inside!).
- Robert (9/5): Lovely accommodation and close to the Bruny ferry - Comfortable, well appointed accommodation with a great outlook.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Our stay was everything we were looking for and ticked all our boxes. - Location, space, decor, ambience, facilities
- Sherrie (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Modern, tastefully decorated studio unit in a quiet rural location. Very relaxing and comfortable for our five night stay.
- Tehuihui (10/5): Perfect - A welcome peaceful Retreat from City Life. Cosy fireplace, modern well appointed bathroom , modern cooktop & microwave , toaster & small fridge.
For a 6day stay I stocked up so didn’t need to leave the unit for dining,
And perfect for a homesick Kiwi were the sounds of Birds, Sheep & Chickadees echoing thru the lush green Valley while enjoying a Morning Coffee or later with a glass of Wine on the deck was delightful.
Beautiful Kettering 3 kms away is a must see. Oyster Cove & Ferry to Bruny Island a must do.
Sincere thanks to Hosts Justin & Clare
Perfect! No availability to stay longer 😀
- See (8/5): Comfortable Studio Cabin with Nice Hill View - Comfortable & cosy with a fireplace although I didn't managed to keep it burning through the night. It has a nice view of the hills. Need stronger heater as we are from the tropics. Door needed special way to unlock.
- Abigail (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Cute, cosy self-contained studio on a quiet farm. Loved that we could have our dog with us. Cracking wood heater kept us all very toasty in the wild weather!
