Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): Excellent accommodation - The professionalism how everything is handled Nothing
- Jonna (9/5): - Kaunis huvila loistavalla sijainnilla. Aamupala oli suppea, mutta erittäin maukas.
- Robert (10/5): - Breakfast was great everyday!
- Beverly (10/5): It was perfect for us in every way ❤️ - Fabulous location as it was walking distance to everything we wanted!
Cultural show, lovely restaurant, cafe, bars, night market, superette that also sold wine and beer, car hire, activities, beautiful beach and island at the doorstep, our own pool and spa, much more private than expected… and more! Our last breakfast we had delivered had toast rather than the usual fresh pastry… picky I know, but that’s all we can say that could have been better.
- Melissa (10/5): -
- TONY (10/5): Great experience, great position and great host. - Breakfast was great, fresh fruit with pastry every morning. Nothing
- Geoffrey (10/5): Superb location, exceptional designed villa, friendly staff, right on the beach at Muri beach - Modern design, small number of villas, right on the beach Nothing

- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Enjoyable Break - Nice location and is close to everything.
The beach is great out the front and next to the sailing club next door. The rooms are starting to show their age as it was built in 2008.
Expensive for what it is.
Reception staff could be more helpful.
Breakfast could be improved with some choices.
- Jacinta (7/5): Good - The location was incredible, and it was great being in a gated and small complex of villas The ‘breakfast included’ is a little deceiving, however, a cold breakfast is delivered to the room each morning. There is an ant problem also. However, very minor issues and our stay over all was wonderful.
- Ricki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Assel (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Magical - Beautiful property! The room was stunning and well equipped. A great size too! The location was fantastic, gorgeous views of the lagoon and infinity pool from our room. Some great restaurants and cafe close by, as well as a store and scooter hire. Everything we needed. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Perhaps the breakfast was lacking a bit for the price.
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brendan (10/5): Amazing place - Fresh fruit for breakfast daily. Amazing spot! Captain Tamas crew partying every night after work. Rats in ceiling. But Nick said he will sort
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Fully recommend this property we don’t travel heaps once or twice a year and when we do we want to treat ourselves and w - A beautiful design contemporary with local feel. The spacious living areas and outside living is exceptional. We travel a lot and this was a standout property with a very good feeling for a relaxed holiday. What an amazing breakfast Pretty hard to find any faults to be honest nothing to report that we can recall
- Karen (10/5): Great home base for a fantastic vacation! - Beautiful elegant luxury property. Every detail thought through. Spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Great location right at Muri Lagoon, had a lot of fun paddle boarding. Fantastic pool and hot tub. Never crowded. Delicious breakfast daily, plentiful pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt and juices. Great staff, led by super helpful owner Nick. All so helpful and kind. 5 plus plus plus Stars! Everything was great! Will definitely recommend to someone who is looking for a luxurious and elegant property. We liked the quiet elegance.

- Nicky (10/5): Island luxe - Loved the postcard view from our accom, we eagerly looked forward to the breakfast each morning, delicious complimentary plunger coffee, lounge and dining area was fantastic to relax in, super staff🤩pool and sup's for ocean activity. Had everything we needed to decompress and enjoy island living. Roosters nearby quite noisy at night and in mornings but noticed them less through the week....
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -

- Joanne (10/5): One of the nicest places to stay on the Cook Islands - Clean., nice breakfasts and right on the beach with the best lagoon access for swimming and snorkelling.Beautiful horizon pool and gardens. The staff were polite and friendly. Noisy neighbours- Loud conversations and music played from morning to night .
- Claire (10/5): Amazing location, super relaxing - Amazing location, best spot on the island. Absolutely beautiful outlook, with a great pool, and then the lagoon just beyond. The lagoon has decent snorkelling, with us seeing turtles just in front of the property. All staff were super friendly and helpful, room service was great too.
- Jelena (10/5): Stunning - This is a stunning property. Fabulous location, very comfortable. Lovely unobtrusive staff. Healthy breakfast delivered to the room every morning.
- Colin (9/5): Superb - The staff were excellent. Poko, Helen and Tui were very helpful and friendly. The location was great. Lovely to hear the Island drumming from Captain Tama's every morning. Private and relaxing. Nothing

- Nafitalai (10/5): Exceptional - Property was
- Sue (10/5): Certainly one of the best on the Island. - Breakfast was very good with amazing fruit platter every morning. We have stayed here approx 10 years ago and it has been maintained to a very high standard. It is private, relaxed and right on the beach. Nothing really. Except having to go home.
- Deb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Przemyslaw (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing at the beach - Location, morning breakfast and friendly staff Nothing
- Emily (10/5): Perfect location for a relaxing holiday - Quiet, clean, spacious. Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely nothing. We will definitely return.
- Elmars (8/5): Very good - Location - Muri beach- is great, building is well positioned and next to the beach. Enough room for all the activities, only bedroom could have more daylight. Breakfast was very basic for the price paid.
Probably expectations were to see a boutique hotel or standalone villas, but none of them was right. When stated 'entire villa', one should read 'appartment with separate entrance'.
- Linda (9/5): The perfect relaxing getaway - Pool was lovely, beautiful view of ocean. Great location, so quiet. Rooms and gardens were perfect. We enjoyed breakfast!
- Leanne (9/5): Te Vakaroa A+ - Amazing location & awesome accommodation.
Everything you need is there.
Excellent facilities & outstanding views Nothing
- Dana (10/5): Absolutely amazing accomodation, we loved relaxing and enjoying the amenities on offer. I would highly recommend to anyo - Absolutely loved the location on Muri Beach, it was close to coffee shops, local dairy, Muri night markets and popular food restaurants. We also loved being able to use the paddle boards throughout our stay and relaxing by the pool to a beautiful stunning view. To top it off, the staff were incredible and always available to answer any questions we had. Tui was absolutely awesome and easy to deal with throughout our stay. Nothing! Everything was amazing.
- Fiona (10/5): Best location and accomodation (we did a few scooter trips around island to check out other places). - Location was perfect. Best area on the island. Stunning beach, safe swimming, great snorkelling. The villas are very spacious and solid. I had been worried about noise as shared walls but none at all. Breakfast was delicious and loads to eat. Host/staff attentive but not obtrusive. Very relaxing break. Captain Tama’s cruises (next door) were noisy but they have a fun vibe and wasn’t as annoying as I expected!
- Lee (10/5): Te Vakaroa Villas were truly exceptional and in the best position on Muri Beach. - Poko, Nick and the team were all so approachable and helpful. It made our 10 day stay that much more enjoyable. Thank you.
- Anderson (10/5): Poko and her team were welcoming, friendly, aways smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the daily breakfa - Te Vakaroa Villas was immaculate, clean, well appointed and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Add to this the property is sitting on prime real estate on Muri beach with lovely views of the lagoon. The pool was wonderful and the grounds always looked cared for.
- Miriama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cian (8/5): The freezer didn’t work, there was no wifi that worked and the wine is the cabinet was stale and dangerous - The freezer didn’t work, there was no wifi that worked and the wine is the cabinet was stale and dangerous The freezer didn’t work, there was no wifi that worked and the wine is the cabinet was stale and dangerous
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Marcia (10/5): Exceptional - Perfectly positioned accommodation, finished very tastefully with lots of thought and attention to detail. Staff were so lovely. Would love to go back.
- Karen (9/5): Ideal location made all the better having great friends to share with - The breakfast was a bit repetitive. A variety of pastries would have been nice so each day was different. For the cost of accommodation at the higher end there should have been complimentary airport transfers (we stayed 6 nights). Our friends stayed in much cheaper accommodation which provided the transfer. There was a discrepancy with the information provided on the booking.com website which I was told on two occasions would be dealt with however it was not.
- Theresa (10/5): Amazing - It was delicious Loved everything ❤️
- Marcus (7/5): Good - Pool facilities and cabanas The bedside light switches are difficult to find
- Aston (5/5): Relaxing environment, receptionist could be a bit nicer when speaking to guests. - Facilities was great, location is ok, view is magnificent One of my friends staying felt very put off by the lady at reception after he had asked for extra towels and was questioned as to why he needed them, the attitude displayed from the lady at reception was both very rude and intrusive especially considering that it was just towels that was being asked for, if a guest asks for extra towels? why should this even be an issue? rest of the staff were helpful especially the owner, who when asked for butter, had ran it through the rain to get it to us.
- Amanda (10/5): Excellent, we will be back. - The facilities in-house were fantastic including the washer and dryer in your unit, sky TV for those rugby games, and paddle boards available. The weather was sometimes average (middle of winter) so the heated pool and spa meant that we still swam, and the unit had loads of space to read uninterrupted (indoor and out).
Being only 6 Villas in the complex it felt like you were in your own paradise.
- Mai (9/5): Superb - hot water ran out in the evening.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Bruce (10/5): Had best time in Raro in 5 visits - Breakfasts were always great 👍 and parking was perfect. All staff were courteous and helpful Nothing!
- Rosamund (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms and the view
- Brett (8/5): Very good -
- Angus (10/5): outstanding service - tropical breakfast was very good ensure the SUP boards don't lose air
- Tony (10/5): We miss Rarotonga 😥😥 - the venue and location Captain Tamas crew adding humour to our stay. Very good location
- Donna (9/5): A superb holiday and awesome place to stay. - Breakfast was more than enough and delivered on time. Perhaps room upkeep, ie sliding doors very hard to slide.
- Jonathon (10/5): A favourite for a reason - We are return visitors to Te Vakaroa and for good reason, this place is simply the best place on the island. Unquestionably. Its location is ideal if you like to relax but also enjoy the hum of the island as a backdrop - scooters, roosters, island drums and people enjoying themselves in the lagoon. It's the perfect level of luxury, relaxation and comfort. Whilst also being authentic and designed in a way that suits the island environment. Every detail is taken care of and the facilities including the pool and spa, are simply outstanding.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricky (10/5): A great stay for adults only. Right on the beach front. A beautiful piece of paradise. - Breakfast was great, always fresh. Location was excellent, close to supermarket, night markets, scooter hire and also on the bus route & restaurants. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Full use of snorkeling gear and standup paddle boards are a must first thing in the morning. We had the complex for a week to ourselves.
Captain Tama's is next door and can get a bit noisy once they have finished their cruise in the afternoon. Nothing to complain about.
- Andrew (10/5): The world is too big and life is too short to revist a particular destination…but I would make an exception to come back - Quite possibly the most beautiful place on the entire island. The property is spectacular…the grounds and garden are eye popping. The view from the endless pool over the beach and onto the lagoon is stunning. There is not a single thing we did not like….
- Nafitalai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (9/5): Excellent location and facilities set up up an adventurous holiday - Perfect location, great design, friendly staff - this was our third visit and this is the best private villas on Rarotonga!! Location, design, family friendly snorkeling, kayaking, sailing all 5 meters from the pool!!
- Ryanfj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (8/5): Great place, amazing location, noisy neighbours - Amazing location, comfortable villas with great pool area. Walking distance other resorts & markets Villas are right next door to noisy tourist operator Captain Tamas. We could tolerate the noise levels during the day even though it ruined the poolside atmosphere i.e. loud drums & constant loud rap music from their outdoor stereo. The worst however was their daily staff after-work drinking sessions 5-8pm attended by 10-20 drunk locals, accompanied by the same loud stereo
- Brell (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): Dream destination and total relaxation. - Friendly Manager and Owner. Treated like family. Tropical fruit breakfast each morning. Pool immaculately maintained. The Local rooster crowing outside the property each morning at 5 am. However, can not do much about that aspect of the environment, part of the local colour.
- Jelena (10/5): Beachfront luxury - spectacular location right on the very beautiful Muri Beach. luxurious villas, very well appointed. gorgeous pool and spa. lots of eating options nearby . beautifully maintained grounds. nice healthy breakfast included. feels very exclusive nothing!
- Carmel (10/5): Just the best - people, accommodation, pool and did I say people lol. - Breakfast was yummy. Fruit delicious. Pity I won't be getting a breakfast delivered to that standard when I get home. Breakfast was always delivered with a happy, smiley face. Absolutely nothing really. Everything exceeded our expectations. Was an amazing trip for our family and we all enjoyed the Villas.
- Rebecca (9/5): Fabulous - Awesome location and fabulous staff. Super friendly and accommodating Could do with some minor maintenance updates but also conscious 2&1/2 years of Covid lockdowns and product supply issues will have been a problem
- Brad (9/5): Amazing once in a life time stay. - Amazing facilities and even better location. Soo nice lazing out on the outer deck right in the edge of the lagoon. listening to captain Tama music before they head out for the day. Having awesome food options available nearby. super comfy bed and bedding and bathroom soo good. Even though the place is amazing I don’t feel like it’s $900 a night amazing. We loved it and paid the price as it was our honeymoon stay. However if it wasn’t for the honeymoon we probably wouldn’t be staying there unless we had won the lotto haha. And I get that it is more intended for people where money isn’t an obstacle so I write this with no bad intent. But for me I cant justify the difference of $550 more a night when compared to say an Edgewater beachfront room which we stayed In the first 4 nights of our trip.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Location view pool. Staff. Comfort were amazing. The cost is up there but worth every cent
