- Bridget (8/5): - We've stayed here before and love the accessibility from our route from SW France to San Malo. Having the excellent resturant on the spot is a huge advantage. This time, our room was only accessible by using outdoor stairs and the weather was freezing!
- MARTINE (8/5): Tout s'est bien passé - RAS
- Julien (9/5): -
- HICHAM (8/5): -
- ANDREA (10/5): Very restful night’s sleep after a tasty quality evening meal which is good value for money - Really comfortable rooms and superb restaurant Good bathroom but bath difficult for my mother to take a shower. Not the hotels fault , just a difficulty due to age of mum ( don’t tell her lol!)

- Stephen (7/5): Came the wrong day as a wedding next day - Food was good Room was a bit drab
- Leona (5/5): - I like the location, it’s halfway for my journey to Cherbourg. I wanted to relax by the pool and read my book after my journey but there was a DJ playing loud music. Also the restaurant was closed because there was a bbq which I want not happy with. I wanted a really nice meal and wine in the restaurant.
Also I had a room with a bath but there was no plug!!
- jeremy (5/5): - Situation. Room was in need of an upgrade. It smelled damp. The plug in the bath was stuck so you couldn't empty it. Food was ok.
- isabelle (8/5): - Coin piscine terrasse Chambre vieillotte, moquette

Chambre vieillissante
Climatisation orientée sur les lits
Rideaux ne permettant pas l’obscurité

- Charlotte (8/5): - Staff no.1, there was also a really nice atmosphere, great for families and couples. Pool area was very nice and also the restaurant but again the staff were excellent. Room needs updating.

- Barbara (5/5): The beds were very comfortable which led to a good nights sleep even though the curtains hardly met. - Coffee machine broke down and had to ask twice for more croissant. No bar on a Sunday afternoon on arrival.
- Susan (8/5): It was a very comfortable one night stay - Location is superb as for us as it is a stop off between the ferry and the Bordeaux area. The food was excellent especially the dinner and they paid special attention to the fact that I was celiac. On a one night stay there was nothing to dislike
- Clive (1/5): An absolute waste of money. It is not a hotel. - Stayed for a night to get some rest and food for a long drive to southern Spain. I didn't notice that the restaurant is closed on a Sunday. There was no mention that the bar would also be closed and that the hotel would be completely unstaffed! This place is miles from anywhere, we had a 40km round trip to the nearest supermarket in Nantes to get some food and drink. The room was awful, the curtains were far too small for the windows so anyone could see in and there was no way to keep any light out in the morning. Despite it being effectively self catering, there were only paper cups and no fridge, Breakfast was edible but the bananas were way past their best and pretty much every tiny plate was chipped. The grass wasn't cut and it was generally in need of some TLC. I would avoid this place at all costs. I don't even know how it's classed as a hotel with no reception, bar or staff! I paid 107€ for the one night stay. All of it
- Barry (9/5): Superb -
- Kateryna (8/5): Very good - We could get out of the room directly to the garden, it was very nice.
There is also a small breakfast option, if you don't want to eat a lot and want only coffee and croissant. the room smelled a bit when we came.
- James (4/5): Keep driving! - Not much to be honest, location that was about it. I booked the hotel at arrived at 8.30pm Sunday evening to find the hotel locked and shut up. After walking around the grounds I was able to locate the only other guests on site who had a number for someone to help. (The same had happened to them) apparently the hotel closes at 4pm on a Sunday!!!
Once in my room, it was dirty and very dated. No A/C, soap dispensers empty etc. I had a very uncomfortable night and couldn’t wait to leave.
The hotel is in a sorry state, the pool is green. Everything is tired and needs updating. I will not be in a rush to return.
- Pascal (7/5): Good -
- Chandler (9/5): Superb - Ground floor room seating out area and access to the garden Took a long time on arrival as staff could not find the online Booking. Com reservation.
- Stefan (1/5): I would NEVER stay there again even if they gave me it for free! - Nothing Restaurant dinner was inedible and resulted in "no charge"
Room was filthy with dust which was months lying, carpets unclean, milk on welcome tray in room over a month out of date, dead insects behind the curtain, unclean bath, broken bedside table, and so it goes on.
- Jerry (4/5): So much potential but spoilt by dreadful service - The food was excellent for dinner. The breakfast was very poor The service was very patchy
- Stefan (1/5): Disgusted. Dirty and most definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. - Nothing. The dinner was so bad it was inedible but not cheap. The service was almost non-existant. The server was inaudible when asked questions and after a very long wait we had to go and get the specials menu ourselves. There was too much unacceptable about but at least, upon complaining, we were not charged anything for the meal.
Breakfast was just acceptable but certainly not good or worthy of a 3 star hotel.
Despite pre-booking a normal twin room and it being confirmed we received a Reduced Mobility room which was a double room. Upon complaint, we were told there was no other room available and so they separated the beds and made the double into a twin. This could have been done before we arrived.
The room was dirty and the dust must have been months without cleaning.
Normally we would not have stayed there again but unfortunately, having understood it to be a 3 Star hotel we had pre-booked one night again for the return journey and we did not have the opportunity to book elsewhere. We hoped that it would be better having complained about our stay. It wasn't better as far as the room was concerned. It was very dirty and the same degree of dust. Sweety papers left below the bed and many dead insects behind the net curtain in front of the window. It was again a double bed instead of a twin but it did have two separate duvets which overlapped but the sheet was not even tucked in. On this occasion the bed was not separable. The bath appeared not to have been cleaned after the previous client as we found hairs and bits of debris remaining before we used it. Bedside shelf was broken, spare pillow without pillowslip, tea tray with expired over one month milk pods, paper cups.
Fortunately we found a very good restaurant a few miles away for dinner and so didn't have to suffer the restaurant in the hotel other than for breakfast.
We would never ever stay at this hotel again and would recommend that people avoid it if they can.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (1/5): Do not stay here! I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The restaurant was closed, and there was no information pro - The car park was large Everything
- Douglas (5/5): Passable - No staff on site - I was sent access code details. No answer on the given telephone number. Not recommended for solo travellers. Two cars without number plates in car park ( in the uk that would be very bad sign).
- Annette (5/5): Passable - The breakfast was terrible , congealed eggs made the night before , everything looked shrivelled and the the only staff available unhelpful/ not interested Breakfast
- Alan (2/5): Very poor - Above everything else, the young lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful. The room we were allocated was a double not a twin. She gave us a coffee whilst she organised the twin room for us. She had to make up the beds and prepare the room herself. The beds were very comfortable, this was the only positive. The rooms should be refurbished as soon as possible. The carpet was very old and tired and dirty. There was no air conditioning and no fridge. The two small bins fell over when you put your foot to open the lid. The basin did not drain. The bath plug could not be released. No glassware in the room. Just paper cups. There were previously treated black damp patches around the window. There were only half size curtains with a net curtain falling off. For privacy, we had to close the shutter.
Dinner.
We booked for dinner at 7:30. We arrived promptly as we needed an early night because we had to travel the next day. Eventually our drinks order was taken. The lady that took our drinks order, then had an unfortunate accident and we didn't see her again. The young man who was serving the rest of the restaurant totally ignored us, serving a large party which came into the restaurant after us. We decided to leave after half an hour as we could not catch his eye and he was ignoring us. Our drinks didn't arrive and our food order was never taken.
Breakfast.
We went for breakfast at 8am as arranged. The restaurant and the whole hotel had been locked up the night before. The young lady receptionist, came to tell us she could not get in to organise our breakfast until the key arrived. She immediately phoned to get the key and was very helpful again.
However, because we were early we realised the breakfast buffet had been prepared the night before. The scrambled eggs and bacon were in a steel container, ready to be reheated. The cold buffet did not look very appetising. Fruit in the fruit salad was browning at the edges. The croissant and bread came out and were hot and acceptable.
- Margaret (5/5): Very convenient and pleasant location - Everything was comfortable enough but could do with some updating. Decorations and fittings need renewing.
- Lynn (7/5): Good - Reception staff were very helpful. Dinner was pleasant. Room we were initially given had clearly been used and not cleaned, and were re-allocated a cleaned room.
- Alexandra (7/5): Good -
- Pauline (9/5): Comfortable over night stay just off our route. Car charging facility great. - We liked the ground floor room, disabled shower and electric car charger. Dinner was delicious. Lovely dining room. The breakfast was well diminished by the time we arrived, albeit shortly before the closing off time.
- Aso (9/5): Superb -
- Adele (7/5): Good location, great restaurant - Perfect location just off the highway with the most amazing restaurant. The bathroom is very modern Sheets had stains and holes. Room is a little dated but the bathroom is modern!
- Sheila (8/5): Perfect overnight stay on drive south from Cherbourg to Narbonne - Lovely bathroom
The best Sole Meunière I’ve ever had N/a
- Brigitte (7/5): As I said above, overall good, some disappointment and some high points. - Room was good, overall the grounds and the hotel were good although we felt it had been somewhat neglected in places and needed a little TLC. Pool area and restaurant were excellent. We had a lovely dinner but we were very disappointed in the breakfast which did not warrant the 14.50 euros price. Choice was poor the fruit salad was awful which was such a surprise as our previous evening's meal had been excellent. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (6/5): Great position for overnight stay but food pricey - Convenience to motorway
Comfortable bed
Nice restaurant
Good ambience Room a bit pokey
Food good but expensive
- Claude (9/5): Perfect location and great food - Very friendly staff and clean rooms, food was first class Unfortunately the mattress in room 11 needs replacing as it spoiled our stay as we both kept rolling to the middle leading my wife having to sleep in the chair
- Melisa (8/5): Very good -
- Trae (6/5): If the restaurant is open ( not a Sunday) it’s worth staying here , other wise it’s not , the rooms let the place down - Convenient to motorway
The restaurant always draws us back, it’s super The accommodation is tired and dated . We booked a twin room downstairs and was given a king room upstairs , this was apparently an upgrade .. we’ve stayed upstairs before .. it’s dark and damp smelling so no idea what’s happened to the downstairs rooms . No explanation received by the young guy on reception when it was questioned.
- Kirsten (5/5): Functional place to sleep - Location and member of staff that we met was very nice Both the pool and the restaurant were closed as we stayed on a Sunday evening. This was not evident on the booking site and not what we had hoped for after a very long day travelling.
- Deirdre (4/5): lovely building, nice location , staff and food but our room was old fashioned and had a smell.. - The staff were fabulous, the food was very good and the wine lovely. a nice area etc the bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. the building is beautiful The room so old fashioned. we did have a dog but the room had carpet there was a smell of dog wee in it and outside. there was a mat outside the door that smelled . the whole area outside the entrance to the room needed to be hosed down.cleaned and freshened.
- Hannah (7/5): Hotel good, dinner lovely but slow service - Good options for breakfast if not a bit chaotic
Evening dinner very good but service very slow
Room was small for 4 people but clean and adequate for just 1 night Not given the room we expected to have via booking.com - we asked for quadruple not triple with an extra bed squeezed in
Some of the service at dinner was very slow - there was a lady who really helped at times which was appreciated
- Barbara (5/5): Not the most relaxing afternoon and evening after a long journey but a comfortable bed. - The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. When we arrived there was a large birthday party on around the pool so we were unable to sit round the pool or have a swim. This went on into the evening with very loud music being played. We had to ask for a couple of chairs to be taken to the front of the hotel so that we could sit and have a drink. It would have been a gesture if the manager had offered us a free drink to compensate for the inconvenience and the constant loud music.
- Andrew (6/5): Holiday stop over - Convenience to road links The room was advertised as air conditioned which it isnt, at least to what most understand as air-conditioned. The restaurant has lovely food but as a non-fluent french speaker there was no way to understand the hand written menu. I understand this is a local hotel but it really should be clear that there is no English provision.
The room was labelled as a family room but one bed was a put up bed just about bid enough for a teenager. In all I probably wouldn't stay here again
- Anayda (9/5): Superb - The hotel has all the amenitiws needed, is clean and comfortable. I appreciated all. However given that réception is closed and all is done through email messages, it was confusing but manageable. Given the hotel is in a secluded area and as there is no staff on duty, I would suggest putting a light outside by the staircase that lights up when it detects a presence so that one feels safer.
- Mark (7/5): Functional - For a stop over to our final destination it did the job well.
Good size clean room, has a pool and plenty of parking The rooms were dated but adequate.
A bit out on its own, which lead you to eat at their restaurant, which again was fine but wasn’t a culinary great
- Rosita (6/5): Perfect for an overnight stop. - It's a fabulous restaurant, and very conveniently located off the motor way. Rooms are in need of an update but perfectly functional. We had booked for a family of four. The fourth bed was not made up, despite us asking reception following our arrival. Although the duvet and pillow were in the wardrobe, there was no fresh linen for us to even make up the bed ourselves. In addition, the room had one towel for showering and an abundance of hand towels in the wardrobe. Minor issues which can all be resolved.
- Martine (8/5): Very good - Great for stop over - bedroom very clean & comfortable - we had a great meal in the restaurant - gastronomic food yet not over priced. Bedroom decor could be updated
- Dawn (10/5): Wonderful! - Location ideal for travelling to north of France. Accommodation superb, overlooking the gardens, with patio door for dog access. Lunch was delicious.
- Brigitte (4/5): Very disappointing stay - The bed was comfortable the shower was adequate The staff was very rude and inexperienced. We booked for 3 persons and the room was set up for 1.
The courtesy tray was a joke 1 stale mint tea and 3 nescafe sachets. We arrived on Sunday night and the bar and restaurant were closed. This place is very remote. We will not go there again and would not recommend it to anybody.
- Douglas (7/5): OTHER THAN THE BREAKFAST VERY GOOD, - ROOM WAS GOOD, BUT THE RECEPTION DID NOT APPEAR TO NO WE WERE COMING AS A CONSEQUENCE
WE ENDED UP IN A DISABLED EQUIPPED ROOM. OK FOR ONE NIGHT. WHEN WE WENT FOR BREAKFAST WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF BREAKFAST HAD NOT TURNED UP FOR WORK, THE RECEPTIONIST STOOD IN BUT DID NO KNOW WHERE ITEMS WERE, THUS WE HAD A VERY POOR BREAKFAST FORTUNATELY WE WERE NOT CHARGED FOR THIS!!
- Lewis (6/5): I wouldn’t choose to stay again. - Good location just off the motorway. The room was rather basic for the price.
- Pascal (7/5): Good -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Donna-mae (8/5): Great overnight stop - Ideal just off the main road, excellent restaurant meal in evening and a good breakfast
- Peter (9/5): Lovely place to stay on route. Will definitely use on our next trip. Thanks - Everything was virtually perfect. The only problem was no real tea bags in the room luckily we had our own. Everything else was great.
- Matt (10/5): Very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was good - Quiet. Close to motorway Nothing
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - It is so convenient to the main road. We have a dog and we love the little separate chalets with front and back door on ground level . Food is always superb and staff very friendly
- David (6/5): Trip to Bordeau. - Location good. EV charging provided. Dogs allowed. No evening meal. Few alternative restaurants locally.
- Ricardo (8/5): Very good - There was no hot water to take a bath
- Magner (9/5): friendly staff and very comfortable - nice breakfast Restaurent and bar closed
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Tomur (7/5): Lovely rural hotel with exceptional home made yogurt - Nice rural setting. No lift😧
- Cherry (9/5): Ideal for an overnight stop - Friendly staff. Atmosphere of an old farm house Unfortunately for us the restaurant was closed on Sunday, the day we were there
- Dermot (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (9/5): ideal hotel for family stay when travelling through France - Fantastic customer service, perfect family room delicious breakfast
- Roger (7/5): Excellent meal in an OK hotel with hardworking and courteous sfaff - Excellent restaurant with pleasant outside dining as weather permitted hotel site adjacent to busy dual carriageway which for some people may mean closing bedroom window to mitigate traffic noise as we did being that side of the building.
- Martin (3/5): Poor - Room was functional Noisy even with window closed.
Room was set up for a single person, luckily we arrived back from a meal elsewhere just as hotel reception closing and we got extra towels cups etc.
Whole hotel closed at 21:00!
No bar!
Very poor breakfast, cold meats that I wouldn't touch.
- Liz (7/5): Good -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Jeanne (10/5): Excellent - Evwerything from welcome to food & departure
- Isobel (8/5): Very good -
- Liliane (9/5): Superb - La restauration La situation geographique
- David (9/5): Superb -
- William (4/5): Disappointing -
- Francesco (10/5): we arrived after a long day of travelling, the staff was amazing and kind to accomodate some of our requests for our kid - staff and the shower
- Isobel (9/5): Lovely overnight stop close to road! - Ideal location beside the motorway for an overnight stop (and couldn’t hear the road!). Comfortable bed and nice shower. Nice breakfast in the morning. Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend. It was a Sunday when we stayed and we didn’t realise all local restaurants and shops would be closed. They offer cold plates (check your email the day before arrival, sadly we saw it too late!). If you get stuck like us there is a nice pizza truck in the village. Little disappointed that the pool wasn’t open (last week of June), as we had planned on using it.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Not your fault but I was travelling with elderly parents and stairs were difficult for them
- Joyce (6/5): Unfortunately unlikely we will use this Hotel as our stopover again. - Quiet and convenient for road travel, swimming pool good, room was basic but clean and comfortable as we has remembered on previous visits. Food menu extremely limited and expensive, wine prices were over the top. We enjoy relaxation after the drive from Cherbourg on travels. The menus was disappointing as we remembered it was a relaxed atmosphere in previous years. The food was just ok what we got, mine was rack of lamb, with very little else on the plate. Staff efficient and professional.
