Guest Reviews
- Karezita (9/5): Great place for a short stay and excellent location for bus transport. - Close proximity to a function I was attending at the Gladstone Bowling Club Monday night, decided to book another night as there was an event at the Native Rose on Tuesday night. Bus stop located outside the Native Rose Hotel vicinity - a big plus which was very convenient. A great variety of menu choices available and live music. Very friendly and helpful staff. No breakfast available but a cafe located just in the next building past the small park area. No parking at the Native Rose otherwise not a problem as I found parking in Evans St, just around the corner. There is also parking in Prince Street. You can also get there by bus No. 442 from Sydney CBD.
- Lisa (7/5): It was clean & even though the bathrooms were shared it was very nice - It was convenient for the location of an event we were attending close by The broken window that was taped up but still had a hole in it as the chunk of glass had fallen out onto the awning
- Michael (10/5): -
- Mariah (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Functional comfy budget accom - Accom was comfy and functional, bathrooms modern and clean. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): - No parking close by
- Ponnappa (5/5): -
- Tamika (1/5): I wouldn’t stay here. - Close to Sydney CBD Bed bugs!!
- tracy (10/5): -
- David (9/5): Convenient location, good food and drink available in pub downstairs. - Location was good. Clean room and bathroom facilities. Would have appreciated some information on where best to park the car.
- Martin (8/5): -
- Bev (7/5): Budget accommodation with stylish bathrooms - Great location
Bathrooms are aesthetically appealing Confusion at check in over a breakage deposit
A few areas where better attention to cleanliness and maintenance would help: 1. Some mould appearing in shower, 2.
Mark on the top of bedding and 3.. missing handle on drawer
- Andrea (9/5): - The location to our function was great. The entrance to tge accommodation from the street was difficult due to my disability. Being able to access from the hotel would have been easier.
- Daire (10/5): -
- Kya (7/5): The location, room and facilities were very pleasant. - Handy to CBD and Public Transport I was booked into room 8 to start which was next to main road and directly above the Bands playing downstairs. So extremely noisy!!. In fairness to the staff I asked if I could be moved to another room and they were more than welcome to accommodate and from then on, it was a lot quieter for the remainder of my stay. Staff were great!
- Debbie (4/5): -
- Michelle (7/5): Great for low cost stay in Sydney. Close to transport into CBD. - Rooms were comfortable. Good value, easy to get to CBD. Menu in room for food at bar.
- KZukowicz (10/5): Nice quiet hotel with the bar - Lovely hotel for short trip. Clean bathroom, fresh furniture and very comfortable bed (especially important if you like me travelled 50hrs)
10mins by bus from downtown. The bus stop is super close.
Nice bar on the ground floor with live music All fine, maybe just add a chair to the room for more comfortable table usage
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Linda (6/5): - Location The TV wouldn’t join the WIFI so it was unuseable and the WIFI is non existent up stairs once the pubs full downstairs. The noise that transmits up is really loud from the beer garden too. No street parking if you’re driving .
- Carole (8/5): Will stay again - Comfortable room. Short walk to White Bay cruise terminal. Nice meals in restaurant, Shared bathroom clean and modern, but needed a mop for floor after use (no bathmats on floor)
- Daniela (6/5): I wouldn’t book again but liked the bar section very much - Only the blonde girl at the bar downstairs My doona wasn’t clean, don’t smell fresh and the way the sheets were put on bed or way the bed was made
- Jurate (1/5): Uncommunicative staff - Room was clean and bright.Good bed nice shared bathroom. Hotel failed to check us in first night of our stay there was no one to let us in we had to find another hotel and get a taxi
Next morning hotel staff admited that they should be there untill midnight. We are only asking them to refund us for the night we did not get in even though we had to spend money on a taxi and more expensive accomadation
They just ignored us .
- Alicia (9/5): -
- Daniela (7/5): Lady at the pup very very nice - Friendliness I was told it would open at 10 in face it opened at 11 but we were waiting outside since 8
I rang left a message no call back!
- Marko (8/5): Great location; cute rooms; helpful staff; good cleanliness. - Great location; rooms cute; staff helpful; good cleanliness. The shared bathrooms, but that’s part of the charm, and they were very clean.
- Gillianne (8/5): Clean, airy freshly painted. Excellent location and stylish share bathrooms but bring your ear plugs - They’ve done an excellent renovation on the upstairs accommodation. Retaining the original features - pressed tin ceilings, large airy rooms with thick walls and big old windows- they’ve added the most stylish modern share bathrooms I've ever come across - which were spick and span when I visited.
If you’re up for a walk / explore interesting street scapes and parks surround the Native Rose. The “high street” only 10 mins walk up the road has many good places to eat and drink. Parking is an issue if you’re in a car rather than on public transport ( the bus stop is right outside) Also - Bring your ear plugs - you’ll be on a very very busy road.
- Tracy (8/5): Comfortable bed, great shared bathrooms - Comfortable bed & excellent shared bathrooms. Noise from band downstairs though expected as it is a pub.
- olga (10/5): -
- Lara (7/5): -
- Rojas (8/5): -
- Lobke (6/5): - Je kon verderop mooi wandelen
De badkamers waren heel mooi! Wij sliepen aan de kant van de drukke weg en ons raam was kapot en was vastgeplakt met tape. Dat trilde steeds als er vrachtwagens en dergelijke langs reden.
- Ginevra (9/5): -
- Andrey Rumiantsev (10/5): For Sydney, this is great value for money! -
- Cameron (7/5): - Towels
Good shower
Aircon
Code instead of key for access at all hours TV didnt work
Light didnt work
- Alex (5/5): -
- Karoline (2/5): Would not recommend to anyone. - The manager was nice when we had issues (although we didn’t get the refund she said we would get.) Really dirty with hair on the bed and the room was obviously not cleaned, couldn’t stay the night because of bed bugs, had to leave after 1 hour because we got bitten.
- Lucas (10/5): - Nice and quiet considering it’s above the pub, nice room and comfortable bed. What’s not love when u can walk downstairs for a refresher
- Craig (9/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Matthew (6/5): -
- ALister (7/5): Friendly pub accomodation, but avoid Friday nights. - Good location and handy to bus to city. Nice pub downstairs very noisy on Friday night until midnight Karaoke)
- Jamie (7/5): Good - Well looked after Music was very loud till late.
- Gaynor (10/5): Awesome helpful staff - Very well located Key code couldn’t be seen without my glasses
- Andries (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Darren (6/5): No atmosphere and food over priced and below standard - Bathroom were nice No one at the venue and rubbish everywhere at front of pub
- Sue-anne (8/5): Will definitely stay again. - The location was central, the accommodation was fresh and clean. No parking.
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Rusu (6/5): -
- Evan (9/5): -
- Pini (10/5): Very good - Good No water bottles
- Madhushan (10/5): -
- Drew (8/5): - Comfortable room, very comfortable bed. The location is well placed with ready bus access to the city. Evidently recently refurbished, the carpets in the corridors feel good underfoot. The window needs a new pane, the temporary repairs in place let in a bit of sound from the road outside.
- Petra (1/5): - The room I had wasn’t what it looks like in the pictures shown on Booking.com
- Christina (8/5): - Staff were excellent and accommodating Shared amenities, prefer amenities in the room
- Jeremy (8/5): -
- Maddison (8/5): -
- Neil (8/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): - I don’t generally like shared bathrooms but these were great. 3 individual spaces with a shower toilet and vanity
Room was comfy and cold air con
Great value for the price N-A
- Shane (9/5): - Location and cleanliness
- Matt (9/5): -
- Stanhope (5/5): Would be a great spot but for internal noise levels (it is a pub, after all). - Shared bathrooms better than many ensuites.
Grear location, pleasant staff, nice vibe. Victoria Road noise was expected (alrhough simple sound insulation treatments seemed absent).
Hotel noise beyond intrusive and no/little attenuation evident. This pub has noise abatement to neighbours to allow 12am music (other local bars stop music at 11pm) but none to its own accommodation. Counterproductive to say the least.
- Andrew (10/5): Great staff and great location. - Close to town. Great outside seating.
- Alex (5/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Alex (4/5): -
- Alex (5/5): -
- sharon (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): - No remote for the television
- Sharon (8/5): - Staff were great.
Meals were very good.
Room was clean and quiet.
Bathrooms were clean. Room 1 required some general maintenance,
e.g. conduit holding an extension cord to get power to kettle was detached from wall.
Small fridge would have been welcome for breakfast supplies etc.
- Rory (7/5): - Clean, minimalistic. No parking onsite, and limited free parking in close proximity.
- DDC00 (6/5): - Nice little pub. No parking, and surrounding streets are by residential permit parking only. Walk thru bunk room to get to toilet.
- Steven (1/5): Couldn’t wait to leave - The band $200 a night for showers down the hall , never again . You said park anywhere. There is no parking anywhere c
- Jason (10/5): -
- Mary (7/5): Convenient location - Convenient location, handy to where we needed to go. Our room was noisy - busy pub at night.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Darren Heapy (9/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Sweet location, nicely presented rooms, friendly staff - The location is great, and sound no too loud from the pub below so was happy with that. The staff were helpful in getting us setup and answering questions. The rooms aren't huge, but great for a place to rest, and nicely provided with some teas/coffees and bathroom products. I'd stay again!
- Rojas (8/5): -
- Leigh (8/5): Very enjoyable. I would definitely book again. - The room was very pleasant an well furnished and the bed was comfortable and very clean. Some of the power points don't work.
- Amanullah (9/5): -
- Joshua (2/5): My room was straight above the karaoke bar, the noise was insane and didn’t stop until after midnight - Location and price The noise from the pub was unbelievable
- Gemma (8/5): - Good price, good staff -Shared bathroom
-Noisy road
- Will (8/5): - Clean Horse racing ambience downstairs
- Hayward (6/5): Satisfactory. - Great location. Comfortable bed. Close to Public transportation and the city. Late night music and traffic noise, but as to be expected as it is a pub. No mini fridge in the room.
- Sophie (8/5): - Comfortable bed, good location and the nicest shared bathrooms I've ever seen. It's a small thing, but the sheets weren't folded over the doona, so it was exposed and felt a little icky. We had to remake the bed before sleeping.
- Ben Hastings (9/5): -
- Black (3/5): - Very noisy, loud road noises from old rattly windows with gaps between the top and bottom opening windows. PowerPoint on both sides of the bed didn't work. Our bags were removed from our room before the 10.00 am check-out time and the cleaner was already cleaning while we were out for breakfast and we returned by 9.50 am to pick up our bags and check out by 10.00 am. No fridge in the room or milk for complimentary tea/coffee in the room.
- Jacqui (8/5): Well positioned for the White Bay power station venue. Friendly staff. - Staff were friendly, room was ready early and we were able to leave our bags after checking out for a few hours. Room was a good size with coffee and tea making facilities. Comfortable bed Shared bathrooms were clean and well appointed. Shampoo , cont and body wash supplied. The broken window taped up and the large cockroach on the bed.
It’s situation beside a busy road and the fact it was Karaoke night in the bar meant it was a little noisy ( to be expected)
- Neil (8/5): -
- Guille (10/5): AMAZING. - El personal, la ubicación y el lugar. Perfecto Nada
- Caroline (9/5): -
- Slee (10/5): - Great staff.Frendly and helpful. Great pub food. Leaving
