Guest Reviews
- Daniel (3/5): Instead of a relaxing retreat, this place was a stressful challenge every day, but it could be very nice with better man - Good location. Newly refurbished. Nice kitchen and bathroom, once we finally figured out how to operate everything. No manager onsite and very poor responsiveness. We promptly asked for repairs of two broken shades, burnt out lights, nonfunctional garbage disposal, and other defects to be repaired. When we checked out after four days they still were not working.
The kitchen sink was clogged and filled with dirty water when we arrived. After many requests the drain was finally repaired and a few of the burnt out bulbs were replaced.
There were poor or nonexistent explanations of how several complicated systems and appliances worked. It took way too much research, experimentation and guesswork to figure out how to control the HVAC. The controls were hidden in a closet and not visible.
Similarly the stove/range was an induction one with non-intuitive controls. It works very differently from a conventional electric or gas stove. Fortunately I had done extensive research on this new technology and had bought and installed one. So I know it only works if the specific pots or pans are on the burners.
In the Airbnb apartment that I owned I tried to post simple, clear explanations of how the stove work, and other useful instructions. There were none in this place even though many systems and appliances were difficult to decipher.
Apparently it was disclosed but I missed that there was no lift/elevator. The apartment is on the third floor (second story in Britspeak.) The ceilings are very high so I had to schlep our many heavy bags up dozens of stairs. There is no gym but I did not need one after that.
This place could be much more pleasant if management was more available and responsive, they were more attentive to maintenance, and they put explanatory labels on the more inscrutable systems and appliances.
- Gil P. D'Saint (10/5): Wonderful - The apartment is absolutely perfect, ideal location in Mayfair and fully equipped with everything you need. I would highly recommend it.

- Jasem (7/5): Good - I liked that the apartment was close to the city center and the price was good. What I didn't like about the apartment was that it was on the second floor and there was no elevator, which was very tiring carrying luggage.
- Joel Selom (8/5): A comfortable stay in a great area with everything I needed. - The apartment was modern and in a great location – tube stations and shopping possibilities are within minutes of walking. Everything felt clean and well taken care of, and the check-in process was smooth. Having a comfortable bed and a somewhat quiet environment in the center of London made the stay really enjoyable. A couple of small things could be improved: a bit of maintenance here and there would help. Other than that, nothing major.
- Craig (8/5): A convenient and well-equipped central London stay with an excellent location and easy check-in - The accommodation has several strong points. Its location is excellent within easy reach of Mayfair, Oxford St, Regent St and Piccadilly Circus making it ideal for shopping, dining, and exploring central London. Being so close to major attractions and transport links made getting around very convenient.
The check-in process was simple and stress-free, with clear instructions and easy key collection. This made arriving at the property straightforward and hassle-free.
The property is also well-equipped with all essential amenities, including a washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer, making it very convenient for both short and longer stays. The accommodation had some positives, but there are a few areas that could be improved to make the experience smoother for future guests.
A very large £600 damage deposit was required for just a two-night stay, but this wasn’t made clear at the time of booking — I only learned about it an hour before check-in. This left me with little choice but to pay the deposit, as I needed access to the property right away. The host mentioned it was listed in the fine print, though I couldn’t find this information when reviewing the booking details. On top of that, there was no indication of when the deposit would be returned, which added to the uncertainty. Making this clearer and more transparent would help set expectations upfront.
There is also an additional charge if arriving after 6pm, which feels unusual given that the property operates with self check-in. Clarifying the reasoning behind this, or adjusting the policy, would make the process less confusing.
Guests should also be aware that the property has stairs and no lift, which can be challenging with luggage or for those with mobility concerns. Additionally, the check-out time of 10am felt a bit early compared to other places I’ve stayed — even a small extension could make departures feel less rushed.
Overall, with clearer communication around deposits, fees, and policies, and some adjustments to accessibility and check-out times, this could be a much more comfortable and guest-friendly place to stay..
- Faisal (1/5): Regret booking: unsafe, disorganised, and unworthy of any traveller’s trust.. إقامة غير آمنة وغير منظَّمة؛ نادم ولن أوص - Only the central Mayfair location; everything else ranged from disappointing to outright dangerous for guests.
• موقعه في مايفير قريب من المترو والمتاجر.
• لا شيء آخر يستحق الثناء؛ كل الجوانب الأخرى مخيبة. • Deposit confirmed at £500, then ambushed mid‑flight with a £600 Stripe demand.
• Check‑in codes sent five hours late; my elderly mother waited outside with heavy luggage.
• Internal stairs are bare concrete, edges crumbling, caution tape dangling—serious fall hazard.
• Living‑room sash window won’t lock; two‑centimetre gap pumps hot street air inside.
• AC labours all night, still stuck at 25 °C because the window cannot seal.
• Seven ceiling spotlights dead; three others strobe constantly even at full brightness.
• Host twice gave Booking.com false updates about the deposit and check‑in emails.
• Six costly international calls (1 h 42 min on hold) didn’t change a thing but fix the AC.
- channa (8/5): Comfortable and peaceful stay - The location more than meet my needs. The furniture and fixtures were very good and clean. Nice clean towels, clean bathroom. The air conditioning truly helped in the heat of the summer. Having to climb two floors of stairs. Some of the bulbs were not working.

- Jasem (7/5): Excellent location, good value for money, good accommodation - Excellent location, close to the city center and the underground train station The apartment is on the second floor and there is no elevator. Some of the lights in the living room are not working and some of the electrical points in the wall are not working in the hall.
- Ioannis (1/5): Welcome to Hotel California of Security Deposits. You Can Check Out, But Your Money Takes a Detour - Apartment and location was ok I booked this place expecting a smooth stay, but instead, I got a financial thriller. They happily took my £600 security deposit, promised to return it within 7 days, and then… nothing. Messages? Ignored. Calls? Ghosted. Carrier pigeon? Probably intercepted.
After weeks of silence and escalating the issue with Booking.com, they finally returned my money—on 21st March. That’s 23 days late. At that point, I wasn’t sure if I was getting a refund or winning a legal battle.
So, if you enjoy a little adrenaline rush with your accommodation, book away! But if you'd rather not feel like a debt collector on your own vacation, stay somewhere that understands a security deposit isn’t a long-term investment.

- Rachel (8/5): Great weekend stay just a shame about the inconvenience of no air con or entry system. - Clean and spacious apartment in a superb Location Air con wasn’t working so had to open the windows which resulted in very little sleep due to noise until 5am. Door entry system also wasn’t working so was an inconvenience at times.
