• Julia (10/5): Great place to stay for the family or 6 people group! Specious and a great location! - Location is great, within walking distance of the train station and all the parts of town we wanted to see! Very much satisfied with how the booking was handled and overall stay. The place looks exactly how it appears in the photos. The beds are very comfortable with a fairly firm mattress and soft pillows for the much-needed rest after a busy day of exploring the wonderful Switzerland! The apartment is well-equipped with appliances and all the kitchen supplies we needed to cook our own meals for 6 people. Thank you so much for making our stay easy and enjoyable! The only thing: we couldn't find a wine opener, but this is a truly minor detail that I thought I would mention.

• Enrique (9/5): Buen sitio en Basilea. - Apartamentos bastante amplios, muy limpios y con todas las comodidades. Estaban muy bien situados, a dos pasos del centro. Las camas y almohadas eran comodísimas. Por decir algo, las instalaciones no eran súper nuevas, pero estaba todo muy bien cuidado.

La ubicación es muy buena, en un barrio tranquilo a 10 min. andando al ayuntamiento de la ciudad. El apartamento muy limpio y funcional, con todo lo necesario para una estancia impecable. Dispone de 2 habitaciones espaciosas una de ellas hace la funcion de comedor, dispone de televisor y una mesa con cuatro sillas. Las 2 camas son dobles y cómodas. El aseo dispone de bañera, pequeño pero muy correcto. La cocina perfectamente equipada, cocina de gas y cafetera con cápsulas de cortesía. La comunicación con la propietaria, ha sido muy fluida en todo momento y de gran ayuda. Volvería a este apartamento sin lugar a dudas. Me gustó todo.
• Emma (7/5): It is serviceable apartment but it feels neglected. - We were misdirected to the key lock. There are only two locks, and the manager directed us to the wrong one. Please verify where your key really is. The room was not ready for our arrival. One bed was not made with fresh linens. The trash can in the bathroom was not emptied. The kitchen floor and the bathroom floors were dirty. No coffee pods were provided for the expresso machine. No toiletries in the bathroom except for the hand soap. I believe this is a standard expectation for apartments rented from Booking.com. It is an old apartment filled with old things and unusable old kitchen utensils. It is in a noisy little street. Someone came to make the bed and add towels after we contacted the manager. But the garbage was still there and the floors dirty.

• Isabelle (2/5): NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN or anyone with no experience on using gas stove. SAFETY HAZARD. - The location. Washing machine and tumble dryer were listed as part of the kitchen but were actually in the common area of the buiding. A desk was listed but there was no desk. View was listed but the flat faced flats. Wardrobe was listed but there was no wardrobe in the flat, only hangers. The kitchen cupboards were old and flimsy. The shelf on the fridge door was broken. The toilet seat was broken. The curtains in the rooms were far too narrow to cover the windows. There were no cortesy coffee capsules, as it is shown in the photos. There were no toiletries at all athough they appear in the photos. The property welcomes 'CHILDREN of any age' but, and this was by far the worse about this property, it has a LIFE THREATENING FEATURE. The gas stove. The dials for the stove top are at easy reach of children and all that is needed to release the gas is a very light pressure and a turn of the dial. There are no safety switches. Death by gas inhalation is silent, in particular with parents asleep. In addition, there were no instructions available on how to use the gas stove and the dangers involved. So it is also problematic for adults with no experience on using gas stoves.

La fermata è a tre mins dall'appartamento Appartamento pulito Acqua calda sempre disponibile Asciugamani perfetti Ascensore Riscaldamento perfetto Poco accogliente: niente kit di accoglienza tipo le prime 6 capsule del caffè (eravamo in 6) o una bottiglia d'acqua o un detersivo per il bagno...niente Buio: solo lampade tipo abat-jour e tutte collegate alle prese, quindi o ci vedi o ricarichi il telefono. Luce soffusa anche nella stanza che dovrebbe essere da pranzo che è anche una stanza da letto. Il letto della terza stanza scomodissimo Pochi appoggi, neanche una sedia nelle stanze o un mobiletto nel bagno.

• Robert (6/5): - Was three blocks from the tram and the room comes with the Basel card - which makes the tram free. The pots and pans were worn out with loose or missing handles. There is a stove, coffee maker and tea kettle but no microwave. There is no separate sitting area except for the two high top chairs in the kitchen - the dinning table is in one of the bedrooms, which makes it difficult when traveling with people who have different bed times.

Contaba con todos los materiales necesarios para la estancia Cómo punto de mejora, se podría hacer más énfasis en la limpieza de los utensilios de cocina. No es una queja ni nada grave, solo como punto de mejora

• Jerome (8/5): - Appartement spacieux, très clair, confortable, très bien situé, tout proche du centre historique, avec commerces et restaurants à proximité, et proche de la gare, localisation idéale pour visiter Bâle et les environs. Hôte réactif. Vaisselle de qualité. Immeuble un peu sonore, mais les voisins n'ont pas fait de trop de bruit après 22h. Equipement convenable (mais il nous a fallu acheter une éponge et du papier toilette en plus de ce qui était fourni). L'intérieur du frigo n'avait apparemment pas été nettoyé. Mais tout le reste de l'appartement était très propre.

• Mara (9/5): Superb - Apartment exactly as pictured, great location, all the amenities and supplies we needed. Host was very responsive to messages. Two little things would have been nice: paper towels in the kitchen, and more lighting in all the rooms. There were no overhead lamps in the bedrooms/living room and there were very few plugs so we had to choose between plugging in a lamp and plugging in anything else. One note about the parking: the link to the city website for purchasing parking passes online leads to a webpage that is ONLY in German. However we discovered there is an app (ParkSmart), which could be helpful to share with future guests. Also, it was a bit stressful knowing we had to shower before 10pm, but I know that is a general rule in apartment buildings in Switzerland, so it would be true in any rental.

• Albert (9/5): A comfortable apartment conveniently located near the Basel Altstadt and the train station. - The apartment was very well located - only a short walk from the Barfussplatz and the Altstadt where there were plenty of shops and restaurants. From the train station, it was either a 12 minute walk or a 2 minute bus ride, which was also very convenient upon arrival and departure. The apartment was clean and cozy, with a working and equipped kitchen and laundry if needed in the basement (we didn't use it). The host was very friendly and communicated well with us throughout our stay. The Baselcard that came with the apartment was very helpful and gave us free use of the public transit and 50% all the museums we visited.

• Alex (8/5): Basel,Holbeinstr 20, Wohnung - The location was excellent for us, being close to the Altstadt, restaurants and public transport. The accommodation was comfortable and adequate for 2 people. The bathroom was a little outdated with the shower being over the bath, difficult to use for elderly citizens! The kitchen light was faulty and flickered continuously. We did report this but no action was taken during our stay. We found it difficult to communicate with the owner on our mobile phone, but this was probably due to the international service provided by Telstra Australia causing a service lag. Our original booking for 10 nights was cancelled because of this.

• Pippa (8/5): We had a brilliant time, great location. - Fantastic location, comfortable beds, hosts very helpful and get back to you quickly. Good bathroom, warm flat. The kitchen could have more useful bits in it, like a kettle, a corkscrew, another saucepan, a spatula/fish slice. It is a non smoking flat but it did smell a bit like stale cigarettes.

It's also walking distance to the central train station if you want to go to Zurich etc for a day trip Bathroom has many shelves for storage. Communication was great. Very prompt response. It's clean and with enough towels. Lots of mini travel bathroom packs were provided. Kitchen has very good varieties of plates cups cutleries etc. Facts: The ceiling lights in all rooms are not working but with floor lamp (living room)or table lamps (bedrooms) provided. No kettle and microwave. The only way to lock the door is with the key. If one family member goes out. He has to lock the rest of the family inside when leaving. otherwise, the door would remain unlocked or leave the key behind use intercom upon return. The lift is super tiny. Only can fit one person in with two big luggages. There is a laundry on the ground floor. It's a shared one. You need to fill in the calendar with the owners name to secure the time. We didn’t know this information until the last day. It's not clearly mentioned in the listing. There are only 2 bedrooms with one bathroom. But the living room is turned into 3rd bedroom with TV and dining table. There are no bedside tables for the living room bed and, of course, no table lamps either. There is no wardrobe in any rooms. 2nd bedroom, no bedside table either. There are two tallboys provided, but when we were staying there, they were both located in the 1st bedroom, only provided a clothing rack in the 2nd bedroom. Basically, we had been using our luggage as the wardrobe for the entire 5 nights stay. With the kitchen rubbish, you are only given one rubbish bag for your stay. If you fill up the 2nd time, you have to pay 5 swiss francs as extra. We were told the cleaner could only take one rubbish away free. No rubbish bins found outside buildings. Well, if you are not a fussy traveller and can ignore the issues mentioned. Overall, it's a good place to live as the location is brilliant! And Basel is a great place to visit! It's worth all these hiccups!
