- Guest (10/5): really good - cute cabin very spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen the hot water wasnt really hot and it was a cold place
- Melvin (9/5): -
- Vincent (8/5): - Amazing view of the green valley from the terrace, and perfect spot for birdwatching at the dawn and the sunset.
Tiny little place with a well equipped kitchen.
3 hamacs to chill and enjoy the sunset. 15 min walk from the town but worth the effort, this is so much quieter up here.
- Felix (9/5): -
- Black Dan (10/5): - Está en la montaña pájaros mariposas y flora ! Que no hay cajeros internacionales!
- Chasiloa (10/5): - El entorno en el que se encuentra el alojamiento. .
- Sandor (10/5): - Great place for a short stay with nice memories Great location and good staff. Get off from the bus and on the bus where they say Nothing.
- Eleanor (3/5): Poor - Staff seemed friendly, nice space to chill out, shower had hot water. The double room was not as shown in pictures. The room was so damp, the smell was so bad we had trouble sleeping and all of our clothes smelt damp after only one night. The double bed is so small it does not really fit two people, maybe better as a single bed. On top of that the bathroom was filthy, with dirt and hair all over the floor. The shower leaked and made the bathroom floor constantly wet. This room should not really be rented out to guests.
- Nose (9/5): Would stay again - Nice terrace and tranquil location, great owner Bathroom wasnt very clean
- Hrvoje (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valentin (9/5): Superb - Nice small hostel a bit outside of town, but with a great view from the balcony for birdwatching. It was very social and Mateo is a great host!
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean hostel with beautiful atmosphere and nice breakfast. The staff was helpful.
- Jake (9/5): I only stayed for 2 nights but would have been more than comfortable to stay for weeks- the host is lovely and the locat - Very nice and homely, and the owner is very nice - great breakfast in the morning too! A bit out of the middle of town but Mindo is small anyway so didn’t bother me much.
- Anna (9/5): Anna - The location and the service is excellent. Mateo is such a nice host and very easygoing guy. we enjoyed the stay very much and extended as it was amazing.
- Thanasis (10/5): Join the tribe - We had an amazing experience staying at Inti Mindo. We met nice people who stayed at the hostel and Mateo (the owner) is really a great guy. He provided good recommendations not only about Mindo but for other places too.
- Abbey (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome small hostel run by Mateo. He is very helpful in giving ideas of what to do in Mindo. Only 2 rooms so not crazy busy even when full. Upstairs area where you can look out on the fruit feeders
- Isaline (9/5): Nice and peaceful stay - Mateo is a very good host, always making sure you're feeling good and dealing with any questions or interests one may have. He genually enjoys discussing with the guests and share his pride for his region.
The hostal is just outside of town (10-15 min of a nice safe walk) so it's very peaceful.
A good way to connect with Mindo, its surroundings and the spiritual culture of the area.
- Celine (9/5): Perfect place to relax. - The hospitality was remarkable. The owner took his time to tell me about the birds that come to the backyard, showed me a picture book so I could search and learn about them and set up a feeding station (all after I said birds were my priority for visiting Mindo). He did have all kinds of information to share about other activities.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Kitchen was well equiped.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- שיר (10/5): Excelente - great host, afford amazing help in booking/ activities, young vibes we felt very comfortable and the distance from the center was not far Nothing
- Phoebe (10/5): Loads of toucans, fun, peace and quiet when you want!! A highlight in Ecuador :) - Mateo was so hospitable, helpful, easy going and very knowledgable on the history of the area! The vibe of the hostel was nothing I’ve ever experience before making you feel apart of the family straight away. I saw over 12 toucans on the first day of my stay from the hostel and saw toucans everyday during my stay! I would recommend for anyone who wants a more authentic experience and to enjoy the peace of mindo valley.
- Yasmin (9/5): Great hostel and host - Would recommend - Peaceful property with hammocks, a good daily breakfast and comfy beds. The property was clean and is only about a 10 minute pleasant walk into the town. Big thanks to Mateo, the owner, for showing me around the area too!
If I visit Mindo in the future, I would definitely stay again.
- Constantin (9/5): Superb - Very nice hostel with with nice staff and great service It's a bit out of town
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - The staff were friendly and it offers interesting tours of the area. It’s a very small hostel and feels quiet and peaceful. It’s really far out of town. If you’re planning to use it as a base and be out and about all the time it’s fine. But there isn’t a lot of communal space.
- Sam (10/5): Great place for birdwatching and learning more about mindo! - Matteo was a great host, super knowledgable about the area - he’s studying anthropology and even lived for a while with one of the local tribes, which you can do a day trip to learn about! I really learned a lot chatting with him and I recommend you do the same. The location was also great - it’s a little bit outside of the town (8 minute walk) which means the bird life is much better. Sitting out on the terrace we saw so many hummingbirds and even a few tucans!
- Sam (7/5): Good -
- Sam (4/5): Disappointing - The hostel is located in the middle of the jungle. The owner is very sociable. The hostel is very new. The owner lacks experience in managing the property. For example, when I first arrived, the owner wasn’t there and I was not able to reach him. He was going to an expedition with other travelers. I was waiting outside for two hours. When the day I checked out, it’s supposed to be 10am. In the morning right after I was back from the gym, I was told that they were going to a waterfall together with other travelers. It was 830am at that time, leaving me 30 mins to pack. Mateo was kind enough to let me hang out in the common area. However because of the shortage of time I didn’t realise my toiletries were still in the toilet. Couldn’t reach him again. I missed my bus and it messed up my plan. I got him of hanging out with other travellers to make them feel easy. But, as a manager, he should be responsible for all of us. The responsibility of managing a property. Follow proper check out time. And make sure he can be found when he needs to be found. If one only is interested in sharing the culture, he should be active on Couchsurfing not manning a property.
- Ellis (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer! - This place feels like home, Mateo is like a friend who you can ask for anything, always wants a chat and will help you with anything. The place is so peaceful, and clean. The kitchen is nice, the breakfast is also good. We will always come back here if we come to Mindo. You can organise any trips here, mateo is so knowledgable about everything you need! Nothing
- Luigi (10/5): Exceptional - Everything new, everything ok
The only hostal with the view on Mindo
Amazing
Many birds and animals all around
It's in the Jungle
Amazing
You have to walk 10-15 minutes from the center to get it, but then it make sense
The beds are new so you are going to sleep well
- Benjamin (10/5): Everytime again. - Inti Mindo Hostel is a very special place in the nature. Mateo is a very friendly guy and he knows a lot about indigenes people and culture. He has good recommendations for trips, hostels and everything. If I would go again to Mindo, I would definitely go to Inti Hostel, because there I can relaxe and be myself. Thanks for everything and good success for your project and your personal future! Un abrazo... Benjamin
