• Jonathan (1/5): Not safe at night. Expensive and unsafe neighborhood. warning - Good pie shop on the South side. Opens early morning, expect a line :D I showed up to the accommodation a bit at dark, not too late. There was nobody there. All lights were off. Nobody answered the doors. The wifi provided in previous messages didn't work. I especially did NOT feel safe taking out my phone here. Luckily I was able to find a local to help call to owner. The owner answered and said there was a power outage in the area (although lights around were on, shops open). He claimed to have messaged guests about the situation. I received no message from owner of the situation. He recommended an accommodation walking distance. It was double the price. The South Side of Belize city was not safe. Arriving after dark was already questionable. Despite police everywhere (a shooting had occurred the day before) , I still did not feel safe, walking alone. I saw no tourists. I've been using booking.com for over 10 years, I have never had this kind of situation. Lack of communication from owner, in a city with this level of crime. Lesson learned

• Delphine (9/5): - L’hôtel est très propre et la décoration chaleureuse. La terrasse a l’arrière est vraiment agréable et la clim dans la chambre très appréciée. A 10min à pieds des taxi boat et juste derrière la gare routière Le quartier peut sembler un peu creepy lorsqu’on arrive surtout si on arrive à pieds (nous sommes arrivés de la gare routière) mais nous n’avons eu aucuns problèmes

Daniel and his team are doing exceptional things and it literally felt - Fantastic value, not at all noisy although they have shared facilities, comfortable beds, good Ac, great service (managers, etc) and the location is within walking distance to everything you may need to enjoy your trip as well as the bus station which is a major plus as well as the complimentary 2 beers upon entering. The area is alil bit sketchy if you're not accustomed but as with all major cities it carries risk but once you're being aware, it's fine...I never felt unsafe while walking around or on the property...still you have to be mindful because the area surrounding is deemed as dangerous compared to the touristic north zone.

Pero realmente cumple con las expectativas, bastante limpio, el personal muy amable. el parqueo el carro si queda afuera, el los días que estuvimos ahí es muy tranquilo, pero si se debe considerar que el carro queda afuera ya que solo hay 1 espacio disponible. para subir a la cama individual no se puede subir una persona con accesibilidad limitada o adulta mayor ya que las gradas son peligrosas para bajar y subir, nosotros nos tuvimos que acomodar todos en una sola cama abajo. Por lo complicado que era la estadía arriba.

He introduced us to our room and let us know that he would be there until 7, and then the owner would take over. The only thing I can think of is another pot in the kitchen.

• Janeth (5/5): Falta de higiene y limpieza - Que se podía cocinar La poca higiene del lugar, la habitación no estaba muy limpia, debajo de las camas se veía un montón de polvo y basura que YA estaba cuando llegamos. Los baños, en ningún momento se indico que eran compartidos con los demás huéspedes, en los dos días que estuvimos ahí no se limpiaron en ningún momento, había agua en todo el piso de los baños, los inodoros estaban sucios todo el tiempo, etc.

• Adams (6/5): Needs better communication or ability to reach staff - Once we were able to get inside, the apartment itself was clean and comfortable for what we needed. The mini-split AC units in both the bedroom and living room worked very well, which made a big difference in the Belize heat. The property is also very secure—you cannot access the building without a code or key, which made us feel safe. They provided several helpful amenities including towels, soap, detergent, and access to a washer, dryer, and clothesline, which is convenient for longer stays. The location was easy to find and we were able to walk around the area during the day without any issues. Overall, it served its purpose as a simple place to rest while exploring Belize City. The biggest issue was the lack of communication and the check-in process. We were told we would receive the door code the day before arrival, but we never received it. I tried reaching out multiple times the day of arrival—once from the airport and again after we landed in Belize—but received no response. When we arrived at the property by taxi, we were left standing outside for about 15 minutes knocking, ringing the bell, and calling with no answer. I was traveling with my two-year-old child, so standing outside in the heat in an unfamiliar area without any way to reach someone was very stressful and honestly made me think we had been scammed. Eventually someone who helps manage the property arrived by chance and explained the number I'd been given was for Daniel but it was his day to work, that information had not been communicated beforehand and we had only been given one contact number, which was not responsive. There is also no clearly posted phone number outside the property if guests need assistance, and there is no staff onsite consistently. Even after we checked in, another couple arrived and had the same issue trying to reach someone through the Ring camera with no response. Aside from the communication issues, the apartment itself was fine but there are a few minor things to note: the kitchen could use more utensils for cooking, and the bathroom is very small with a shower that can easily get water on the floor since there is no door. Overall, the biggest concern was the communication and lack of a reliable way to reach someone when arriving or if issues come up. That part of the experience definitely needs improvement.

Ich konnte schon sehr früh mein Gepäck ins Apartment stellen und bei meiner Abreise länger im Apartment bleiben, bis das Taxi kommt, was mich zum Flughafen bringt. Ich habe die Küche zwar nicht benutzt, aber sie wirkte gut ausgestattet. Es gab sogar Gewürze und scharfe Saucen im Kühlschrank. - schnelles Internet - tolle & günstige Bäckerei und Saftbar in der Nähe - kostenloses Trinkwasser Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern / Managern war durchwachsen. Einer schien sehr bemüht, andere weniger. Das Taxi, welches ich am Vortag über die Unterkunft bestellt hatte, kam nicht. Erst als ich nachfragte, kümmerte man sich erneut. Für mich war es nicht schlimm, da mein Flug Verspätung hatte, aber hätte ich pünktlich sein müssen, wäre es sehr eng geworden. Insgesamt war es leider sehr laut in meinem Apartment (Nr. 1), da es sich im Erdgeschoss befindet. Am Schlafzimmerfenster stehen direkt die Waschmaschinen und der Garten, wo man sich aufhalten kann, ist auch direkt am Apartment. Die Fenster haben keine wirkliche Isolierung und es befanden sich sehr viele Mücken in der Wohnung. Der Wasserdruck der Dusche ist sehr niedrig.

• VIRGILIO (8/5): - A localização é perto dos autocarros para ir par ao resto pais e um pouco distante dos barcos, mas faz-se bem o percurso. O quarto é bastante pequeno para 4 camas e com as mochilas fica difícil de circular, no entanto, fica-se bem. Tem ar condicionado. É um hostel muito limpo, tanto os quartos (tinha toalha e sabonete), a casa de banho muito limpa e um bom banho. A cozinha é bem equipada e tem tudo para cozinhar, tem água filtrada a disposição. Na varanda tem espaçosos agradáveis para relaxar e conversar. Apenas o quarto pequeno, mas na prática com as pessoas que estiveram nos mesmos dias do que eu, funcionou bem.

• Tim (7/5): Comfort and convenience - Great location near the bus terminal, so a great stop-over if you're arriving late. Slight misunderstanding with another couple of guests about room allocation. In fairness, this was handled very well once the manager arrived, but not ideal so late at night.
• Veronica (1/5): - I had an extremely disturbing experience at this hotel. What happened was not a misunderstanding , it was deliberate and dishonest. 1. Booking.com Price Manipulation I booked through Booking.com with a confirmed rate. Upon arrival, the receptionist Betty attempted to charge me more than the agreed price. After significant back and forth, she finally agreed to honor the correct rate, but only if I promised to leave a “very good review.” This alone tells you everything about how this business operates. 2. Fake “Private Taxi” Charge I specifically paid for a private taxi at 7:45 AM to catch my ferry. I confirmed multiple times with Betty that it would NOT be a shuttle. I was assured it was a private car. At 7:45 AM, no taxi arrived. The morning staff then admitted they do not even offer private taxis, only a free shuttle for certain ferry passengers. In other words, I was charged for a service that does not exist. Betty simply pocketed money for what turned out to be a free shuttle. To make matters worse, the shuttle initially dropped me at the wrong ferry terminal. This was not confusion. It was misrepresentation. 3. Completely Unclean Room Facilities are very outdated. The room had not been properly cleaned between guests. It was dirty and there was an empty beer bottle left on the windowsill when I entered. If they cannot remove trash, it raises serious concerns about overall hygiene standards. This establishment operates in a way that feels deceptive and unprofessional. I would strongly advise travelers not to stay here. Be cautious and double-check everything in writing if you do choose to stay here.

• Phillip (8/5): - I like that, it was very clean and private. I also enjoy the quietness. I also must commend them for being very accommodating. The Owner Mr. Daniel was always just a text away. I only thing that was confusing was the fact that I didn't know where the room was when I got to the place. Finally, the double lock on the main door to enter upstairs. My hands were filled and unlocking the top lock was easy but when you have both hands full it's difficult to get both unlock to get in.
• Peter (8/5): Excellent host and great safe city location - The location was superb for visiting Belize City. Then ghost was very flexible in the booking arrangements and very understanding of our time pressures. They were quick to respond. Our car was very safe there. The info in the folder was very relevant. The kithcen and cooking facilities were very good and the bed was comfy. Bed was a little too soft for us and in the middle. The shower, didnt provide hot water nor the sink whilst we were there. I imagine for a longer stay they would seek to fix this if you mentioned it.
• George (8/5): Bedroom in Belize - The building is really nice, and there is a neat little hangout area in the yard. There is also great security, easy self-service check in, as well as activity and food recommendations. The facility is very clean. The immediate area seems pretty safe. There are also small lockers with locks included. The dorm is a little small, yet there is plenty of room to store luggage under the bed, unless perhaps if all four beds are occupied and each person has a lot of luggage. Not really a big deal, but the shower I used only had cold water. It wouldn't matter when it's hot out, but it was a little chilly when I used it.

• Eddie (10/5): Nice comfy secure stay! - Located in the heart of the city, can never be “quiet”, but that should be expected. But all and all, I had my first decent sleep on this trip. Not really much to nitpick about. Maybe more utensils, cups and plates.

Shower temperature was very difficult to maintain (repair likely needed). Shower setup gets everything wet. Mosquitoes in the room ate us alive. Floors were dirty.

• gary (10/5): Superb lodge near San Ignacio - A lovely lodge in the village of Christo Rey 7kms from San Ignacio. The room is nicely decorated and modern with a balcony, outside seating and a hammock overlooking the forest and river. Nice outdoor kitchen. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Recommended.

• Kristin (9/5): Cozy, well-equipped hostel near downtwon Belize City - This is a great little hostel that has really thought of everything. The kitchen was tidy and well-equipped; they even provide basic oil and spices, which is a nice touch. The beds had a handy lamp and outlet, and a curtain (at least the lower beds had a curtain). The staff were lovely and helpful. The location is a 10-15 minute walk straight to the main area of downtown, very convenient. The bus station is also nearby, as is a taxi stand. I stayed in the dorm room, and it was admittedly tiny for four people. There isn't much place to put your bags, except under the bed, and even that's a tight squeeze. If all four people are in there, there's not a lot of room to move.
