They agreed to refunds as we paid upfront, almost a month later we are still awaiting our refund. You send Whatsapps to follow up but no response. Bookings.com is just as unhelpful

- Corne (5/5): - Location, was walking distance from our event Room was clean The bed seemed like it was turned sideways as to fit, so even my 1.65m wife struggled to fit. From our brief engagement the hostess seemed annoyed with our presence, like we were an inconvenience.

- Jo (5/5): Fine, but I would look elsewhere if I was travelling in that area again. - It was in the perfect location for my needs. The house, while lovely, smelled of food. It almost seemed like it needed to be aired out, or better ventilation was needed in the kitchen, to prevent the whole place from having an unpleasant smell. Also, I was given very little by way of instruction upon arrival - how to use the TV, there didn't seem to be an aircon remote in my room etc. In this vein, I was given a bottle of water with no glass and milk, but had no fridge and was not informed if I could or couldn't use the kitchen in any way. Finally, the room felt clean, but I did come across a pile of nail clippings on the floor, which wasn't ideal.

- Jacques Credico (1/5): Rude, Unaccommodating Host Overshadows the Stay - Location As a frequent traveler who was prepared to rent 8–10 nights per month, I found this guesthouse entirely unsuitable due to its cramped room, poor facilities, and unprofessional host. The room is far smaller than advertised — so cramped it couldn’t even fit an open travel bag. The TV didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi was unusable, making it impossible to get any work done. The host was rude, unaccommodating, and highly unprofessional. I had been considering this as a regular monthly stay, but after this experience I will not be returning.

She was terribly rude, unaccomodating and quite aggressive and combative in her manner. She ruined my family’s experience of this beautiful property. The geyser was either not working or manually shut off, as my family had to shower with cold water. Just poor poor service. A real shame.

The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The view from my room were just perfect and the room itself met my expectations.
- Aziel (7/5): Good - Beautiful place. Especially liked that a lot of the furniture was made of wood. The painting of the last supper gave me a sense of calm. Sat outside by the pool which was quiet and relaxing. No dstv or any alternative to that effect Wi-Fi was intermittent majority of the time No study desk in the room. And they have a nice spot by the window where I would have super enjoyed working from.

- Johan (4/5): Not worth the money and not fit for purpose - The location is good and the facilty was redone. We stayed in Room 1 in a recently upgraded location. Whoever thought that a glass door to a bedroom is a good idea? While the glass panel was frosted about 90% of the space, there was enough space to look straight into the room with no limitations, meaning no privacy. Espacially with a large common area right opposite the bedroom. More importantly the hallway lights was a constant bother, shining in your eyes. This room is definitely not fit for purpose. Apart from the glass door to the bedroom there were several other issues: 1. We could not get the aircon working. 2. The bathroom had no window and the extractor fan was not working. 3. The bedroom was on the ground floor with windows down to the floor but no burglar guards. 4. A kettle was provided on a table, but no fridge or any facility to keep your own milk. 5. No breakfast was available 6. No dedicated parking space available
- Jacqualine (4/5): Disappointing , we came together as a family to support my dad with end of life . This stay added unnecessary stress and - We rented the entire house for 10 days . House is run down , no thought given to the guests , regarding use of facilities or making you feel comfortable . Although it is beautifully decorated and garden is wonderful the house itself needs work ! Facilities need to be upgraded ! No hot water , if two people shower there is no hot water across the other 5 rooms . We had to share showers to have hot water - not acceptable . Leaking fridges in the bedrooms and kitchen , rusting stove , in addition use of kitchen was a fight - we were told we had to pay more on arrival . No mention of the fact that the house is room only !!! A house of this calibre should accommodate guests with an alternative source of electricity. When load shedding kicks in - no candles were provided no torches , no inverter installed We had to get our own . None of the TV”s work in the rooms . The domestic staff are so kind and try their best , but the manager and management of this house is poor . Not acceptable to hear racial slurs to the staff from the manager ! No guestbook to advise on area , or should something go wrong who to contact.

- Mapaseka (5/5): Great location. better communication from host could have made our stay better - It is located in a beautiful part of Johannesburg. Lovely pool. No breakfast was served. The name of the place has changed (it's now called Treetops Retreat) so we struggled to find it via GPS. Host was not hospitable. On the first night one of the rooms didn't have air conditioning, arrived late and basic information like Wifi password was not available till later on the next day. Second night there was no water in the bathrooms & shower (in the whole city) but this was not communicated. Hospitality score was definitely less than 30%
- Mncedisi (10/5): Peaceful place in a secured area. - Location well secured outside the busy street of Joburg and very quiet for someone who wants privacy and to disconnect with the high speed city life. Beautiful place. The place is still under development therefore somethings were accepted, like there was no bin in the room and there was no table those are minor.
