- margo (10/5): - Jungla Urbana far exceeded my expectations! Lois does a wonderful job with keeping the hotel in great order! The rooms look like scale hotel rooms! No AC is needed. Wonderful covered outdoor patio to relax on…. Or even eat the free breakfast on. There is a clean shared kitchen too, well stocked to cook also . Supper close to the American Embassy ! ( walking distance ) I live in Costa Rica and stayed here to have Dental Work in Escazu… glad I made this choice … I would stay here again… for sure!

- Robson J V (8/5): Excelente BnB com muito bom custo-benefício - Muito bem localizado em um bom bairro, perto de restaurantes, lojas, posto de combustível e mercado (este dá para ir a pé). Gostamos da limpeza, da organização, o quarto é bem moderno e atualizado, cama bem confortável e bom chuveiro. É um lugar tranquilo para dormir. Só achamos que o box do chuveiro deveria ser totalmente fechado, pois além de molhar na saída do box, um pouco de água vai para o quarto também.

- AMIN ARNOLDO (6/5): - El lugar esta bien, pero el ruido del personal empezo a las 6 de la mañana y no termino si konhasta las 10 pm, ademas la persona encargada le gritaba a el perro casi frente a nuestra puerta. La habitación bien, solo que encontramos cabellos en la sabanas y la almohada extra estaba sucia y sin funda.

- Gladys (6/5): - The area is really nice and safe. I enjoyed walking everywhere! My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The building is under maintenance, there is construction ongoing, the kitchen was not available to use. There are no pets allowed, however the host has a medium sized dog running all around the corridors. This guy was also very rude to everyone, staff and guests.

- Mila (4/5): - >>>$10 PARKING PER DAY! <<< Cons: There’s very little ventilation (no windows just a sliding door that leads to common area) so room had smell of humidity. Very little natural light because room faces common patio so you get no privacy with curtains open. The expensive parking space requires that you park in the street run inside the home to open the garage door from the inside and then back into the spot (it’s a whole tedious process). Breakfast is very basic with a watery coffee, milk, slices of bread, some jams and pineapple & papaya. There’s a church across the street that rings its bell each morning at around 6:30am. Pros: Staff is very nice and attentive. There’s an overpriced grocery store a few steps away. Rooms are modern and spacious and have a mini fridge, bathroom has hot water. Great pillows.

- richard (8/5): - The hotel is in a nice neighborhood. There's parking on the street. There's little, if any, hot water in the shower and water pressure is very limited. The host that runs the place is a little grumpy to some extent, but he's a sweet man and he's very tolerable. The price is good. The U.S. Embassy is around the corner. Everything is close by. There's a supermarket around the corner as well.

- Rose-Anna (6/5): - The Jungla Urbana property was very nice and comfortable. It is conveniently accessible, and close to a local grocery and restaurants. The daily continental breakfast was great as well. The only downside was the property caretaker, Luis who was very unwelcoming. While he seemed more pleasant toward other guests, I got the impression he treated me differently because I was not of his persuasion. Additionally, while the property is very clean, from time to time there was a distinct odor of urine near the kitchen, presumably coming from the dog that is kept penned up in an enclosure off the kitchen.

- Hayley (10/5): - This place is an excellent location for any work you need to do at the US embassy. It is literally a 3 minute safe walk to the embassy. There is a ‘Fresh market’ grocery store around the corner 1 minute walk and a little bar/restaraunt on the corner. We just got Uber eats the night before our Visa appointment. Luis was wonderful and rooms are super cute. It’s a converted house and is clean and comfortable.

- Flemming (8/5): Nice rooms - The rooms are really nice, and overall comfort was good! The pillows were huge and did not provide the best sleeping experience for my preference. There was loud from other rooms and the power was out some of the day. No possibility for extra service such as late check out and the area is not very inviting.

- Erick (4/5): - Encontramos una cucaracha en el cuarto. El calentador de la regadera es pequeño, hay que encontrar la manera de hacerlo funcionar para que salga agua caliente. La habitacion estaba en planta baja y se escuchaba fuerte cada paso que daban en el cuarto de arriba. El desayuno es cafe y fruta, si eres de los primeros alcanzas, sino tendrás que comer fuera. Olvidamos algo y el cuidador/administrador de la propiedad no nos ayudó, por lo contrario tuvo una mala actitud con nosotros. La zona es tranquila y con un supermercado en la esquina, muy conveniente. No hay rampa en la entrada, si llevas maletas grandes o pesadas, considera que tendrás que cargarlas en las escaleras.

The bed was especially comfy, and the ceiling fan was strong and made good white noise (needed in this busy city). I had the idea that it was closer to the airport than it was, but it was worth the bit of extra time it took to get there. Good value!
- Gregory (8/5): - Tout parfait, à part qu’il y a eu des travaux, le 1er jour de 10h00 à 20h00, impossible ni de faire une sieste ni regarder un film et ni téléphoner, 2eme jour de 7h45 du matin à 12h00, 3eme jour dès 8h00 du matin… des gens qui parlent fort dans les couloirs des 6h30 du matin sans se soucier des clients. Étant directeur dans l’hôtel restauration, c’est difficilement acceptable, personne n’a aviser de cela. La moindre chose est de prévenir les clients. Sinon merci à Luis pour sa réactivité et disponibilité.

Then we met Colin, who was the icing on the cake—full of information and history, and always ready with directions and help for everything we needed. Oh, and the continental breakfast provided each morning was incredible! The fresh papaya and pineapple are absolutely to die for. The only minor downside was the church bells, but after a day, you get used to them. The price, the stay, and the experience are all worth it. Trust me, you won’t lack a thing during your time at Jungla Urbana in Costa Rica! There is a restaurant and bar, olus super market atvthe corner. A gew blocks down is the American Ambassy. You have to try it to belive it.

- Edward (6/5): not worth it - This was supposed to have 2 beds, but one was a pull out couch with no pillow or sheets. We had to request that. The room had glass blocks in the floor which was over the kitchen so at night when someone went into the kitchen it automatically put light in our room. It was supposed to have a breakfast but it was nothing more than a loaf of bread in a kitchen you could toast yourself and coffee. This was not a breakfast. The bathroom has a large step down and I almost fell when i got up during the night and forgot about it. Definitely not for elderly people. The worst part was finding black hair in the bed sheets.

- Grace (10/5): The perfect oasis in San Jose - What an incredibly charming an amazing home! I stayed here just for 1 night before heading back to the states, after a weeklong trip throughout Costa Rica. As soon as I arrived, I knew that it was the right choice to stay here. This is an incredibly lovely space, and the pictures don't do enough justice to how amazing it is. The entire room that I stayed in, #7, was set up so terrifically, with access to the outdoor patio (below), a large bathroom, and an incredibly comfy bed. I am so sad I didn't stay longer! Plus, look at those cute paintings on the walls, how can you not love that! The staff was also terrific, specifically Jorge, who made me feel so welcome and cared for. I will definitely return as soon as I'm back in the country — muchas gracias, amigos!
- James (10/5): - Hosts were on site all day and always accessible. Very helpful and congenial! Exterior is not special, but interior of B&B is terrific. Spacious rooms, a beautiful shared patio, complete shared kitchen. You can walk to a number of restaurants, and drive to many more within a few minutes. The only negative for late sleepers is that the Catholic church on the corner rings it bell early in the AM.
- Claire (10/5): - David and his family are wonderful. They were generous and kind to me and were genuinely caring about my well-being. Their home is lovely and I hope to stay there again. The beach is very close (3 minute walk). I loved listening to the jungle sounds. I did not enjoy the more than expected traffic on the little dirt road but I would need to go deeper into the jungle, further away from conveniences and the beach if I wanted to get away from that kind of noise. It was still quite most of the time at night. Thank you!
