Guest Reviews
- Andrew Downey (10/5): One of the best places my wife and I have stayed at (probably THE best) in over 40 years of travel. - Very convenient to main street allowing us to shop easily for all meals, especially considering the bakery was just across the road, as well as having a terrific pub next door :) There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this property.
- Kylie (8/5): - The rooms were clean One room had a smell from the septic
- Emily (9/5): -
- Gibbs (9/5): -
- Shaun (10/5): Excellent - It was a great room in a great location Nothing
- Robyn (5/5): Would choose somewhere else next time. - Good room. Location. Misleading instructions for key safe were very frustrating. Walls were paper thin. Public car park did not feel very safe.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Nathaniel (10/5): Really spacious comfortable space for us to crash at night - Room was spacious clean and in a great spot
- Niki (10/5): -
- Marion (10/5): Will recommend to all the cyclist friends. - Exceptionally easy for cyclists.
- sue (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Great room and location - Location and room size together with outdoor seating area Parking security for motorcycles - public car park adjacent to the rear of the building was not secure
- Julie (7/5): -
- jill (8/5): - Had everything we needed for a short stay
- Roslyn (8/5): Would stay there again. - Clean, great location. All good.
- Patricia (9/5): Family catch up - The location was convenient & peaceful surroundings. Well set out. I booked it for my daughter, son in law & granddaughter who flew in from Bundaberg. Was convenient for us to hang out everyday & park was close enough to entertain Lil Minnie moo. Thank u so much for providing a clean, comfortable, space. Will definitely book again next holidays they here. Will recommend 👌 Nothing comes to mind for this question.
- georgie (8/5): Central, quiet, clean and comfortable -
- Patricia (10/5): - Clean room and facilities - quiet room - great location
- Susan (8/5): -
- Brett (8/5): - Very thin walls, quite noisy from adjoining room
- Bolwarra (9/5): I'd stay there again if we go back to Tumbarumba - Located in a great spot for us. Right behind CBD. Walking distance to where we needed and wanted to be. I enjoyed my break staying at the Lodge. Car Parking not on site.
- Nicole (9/5): - Comfortable and great location Towels smelt very moldy like they hadn't been washed
- Katherine (8/5): - The style and set up was good. There was only the bathroom sink that was used for both purposes (bathroom and for washing dishes). Would have preferred an additional sink that would be specific with washing. Not hygienic to wash dishes in bathroom. It could work if there was the option to have it cleaned as part of room service after the guest leaves, and have it cleaned in a kitchen.
- Jacinta (8/5): - Ease of getting in was great, clean and comfortable. The overwhelming smell of bleach in the room
- Nina or Wayne (4/5): Great location, but the price is too high and there’s not enough room privacy. - Love the location. The guests in the room next door came home late, sang, used the microwave and were generally very noisy. I find that there is not enough sound barrier between the rooms.
- Chris (8/5): very good/ nice room - some milk in the fridge would have been nice
more than one sachet of coffee would have been nice as well
- Christopher (10/5): -
- John (5/5): -
- Mark (2/5): sleep deprived - location excellent next to car wash car wash so close people washing their cars 2am 4am and 5am didn't sleep so well
- Ian (9/5): -
- Sally (9/5): A comfortable stay at a pleasant property. - We had a comfortable overnight stay at Black Range Lodge. The room was large for the two of us and very clean with crockery etc to make breakfast and even a picnic dinner as there were limited options for dinner on a Monday night in Tumbarumba. The only issue was that the walls were very thin, so we could hear our neighbours, some of whom were workers who rose at 4 am to head off to work. As a result, we had an early start to our day. I could also hear our neighbour snooring when we went to bed, which wasn't ideal.
- Jennifer (7/5): Check in process was easy. - Very basic room but was all that was needed for one night Floors very creaky. You can hear next door neighbours moving around.
- Roberto (8/5): -
- Boyle (8/5): Great value and perfect location - Super location, comfortable and roomy. Great value Nothing. Perfect for working accommodation
- Terry (8/5): - Spacious room with couch and comfortable bed, good shower and renovated bath room, great location in centre of Tumbarumba. Bed comfortable but could do with more blankets or an electric one. Room is quite dark. Car had to be left in public car park at the rear, okay as we were there early in the week, no idea if it gets rowdy on the weekend. Most dining options were closed early in the week so check before you go, only available place was Chinese at the bowling club which had quite bad reviews, so heated some food from the IGA in the microwave.
- Linda (10/5): - I was accommodated late in the day. Thanks for your prompt response and getting me a room at short notice. Also your flexibility in allowing my dog on the premises outside my room
- janice (6/5): Overpriced for no service. - Location was good. No reception, no one there at all. No breakfast option.
- Helen (10/5): - Great place to stay, clean and comfortable.
- Dee (10/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Kaisar (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Philip (7/5): Adequate accommodation for travellers - Its location. Nearbyr parking. Very dingy. Poor lighting in the room even in the daytime.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great little place to stay in middle of town. - Great little place in the middle of Tumbarumba, close to Bowling Club and Brewery for dinner and drinks. Lovely little area outside rooms to enjoy a seat in the sun,and able to secure our bikes safely here. Public carpark just across from rear property entrance. Very convenient. Everything was great.
- Ivica (9/5): -
- Angela (8/5): - I tripped over steps at night where your solar lights are, they were not working.
Hurt my knee
- Thanh (10/5): -
- Pecotich (9/5): A nice comfortable trouble- free stay. - The location suited our purpose of visiting our brother & his family in Tumba. I received clear instructions about the key box, and all turned out as explained. The room has a very good heat pump and the beds were very comfortable.
A good room, not luxurious but provided everything we needed for a comfortable and clean stay The bathroom door needs some adjustment as the door didn't latch properly
- Bree (6/5): Pleasant -
- Quirante (8/5): Very good -
- Phillip (8/5): Very good -
- Phil (7/5): Good - Close to everything.
Precise details how to get key from locked box. Stairs to get to Main Street and bit challenging, especially in the dark.
Much better access from the back.
Doesn't really have its own carpark.

- Nicole (7/5): Room had everything you need for a night or two stay in Tumba. Good central location. - Easy to find with the clear directions given. Great location just off the main street.
- Heidi (8/5): Very good - It's close to the centre of the town You can hear everything from the room next door
- Kerrie (9/5): Superb - Good location Could have had more soap or even shower gel in the shower.
- Patricia (10/5): Nice rest and sleep - Easy to book and relaxing stay Nothing perfect stay
- Eric (8/5): Nice big room and great location to town. - Very nice big room, comfy bed and right in the middle of town. Stayed here before. Great for bush walking. Plus there are several electric car chargers conveniently located.
- John (7/5): Overall comfy stop and very handy location. - The room was comfortable and had all you needed. Heating was excellent, bed was comfy and water hot. Located right in the main street a few steps to cafe's and shops. Could hear other guests in their rooms, not excessive but more than I would like. Carpark is seperate to the motel, though close was a little off putting. Quite a large set of stairs to get from the rooms to the front of the property, though easy access is available if you go the longer way through the carpark of the hotel next door, may be inconvenient to some guests as it appears that you have easy flat access to the street.
- Anne (8/5): Great little alpine town and comfortable room - The room was spacious and comfortable. Careful thought had been given to the set up and it was perfect for our night in Tumbarumba.
A 2 seater lounge and very comfortable beds were most appreciated by us. Parking in an open public carpark slightly removed from the building we stayed in. Town did feel safe though.
We found the building difficult to find and it's an internal building with signage on a gate at each entry point. this was a bit perplexing to begin with and it would be useful if mentioned in the descriptor.

- Dianne (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in Tumbarumba. Comfortable, Clean and conveniently located - Located close to cafes and shops Access from the street to the property was little uneven, especially when one has mobility difficulties.
- Christine (10/5): We were on route traveling & the room was perfect for a 1 night stay. - The room on the verandas looks over a small courtyard which was nice & relaxing.
- Antony (7/5): Good -
- Kate (8/5): Just lovely. - The room was dark because the blind was down mostly so other guests couldn’t look in.
The floorboards squeaked under the carpet and we could hear that also from the next room. Minor really
- Colleen (9/5): Great spot to stay to explore the area - Location was quiet while being close to the Main Street of charming Tumbarumba.
