Guest Reviews
- Carol (7/5): Very pleasant hotel, meal at Hotel was great. - It was a very basic room but for the cost of the room very nice. Nothing

- Neil (7/5): The pub has great country character - pleasant hosts make up for “tired” facilities. - The hosts were great - and the Sunday night pizza was excellent. We were in the hotel’s old rooms which shared a bathroom with other guests and was a bit tired. But we were warned of that by the hosts and we were in desperate need of a bed for the night so we were very grateful.
- Zoe (5/5): - The people were lovely. It said it was pets allowed, and pet friendly the owners dog went my puppy, there were dog bones everywhere that I had to keep getting out of my pups mouth, there is power boards over the sink which is extremelydangerous, the air-conditioning cover fell off showing how much dust was under it not the greatest thing for people to be breathing in.
- Glen (9/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Great stopover on our way to Mundi Mundi. - We arrived late but were welcomed. Very simple but perfect for a stopover. Very good value. Wish we had arrived earlier to go to the pub as well. More instructions about what to do on arrival would have made it a little easier.
- David (3/5): Poor - Location 1 shower and toilet for over 10rooms, no tv in the room and 1 power point, no breakfast for guests working at the Mallee field day and meals over priced for what you got
- Guest (9/5): -
- Bruce (7/5): Interesting - Potential Bit rundown
- Barbara (8/5): - Lovely staff, Great food, Comfy beds Bathrooms could do with a update
- Charles (10/5): Two nights at the Minapre Hotel in Lascelles - The owners Gus and Marlene were extremely nice and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. We were very comfortable in their company and facilities, and can only praise their service and hospitality. That we couldn't stay longer.
- Brown (9/5): A useful find stop off to avoid the Roos at night and enjoy old style accomodation. Shared bathroom and toilet fine De - Authentic relaxed friendly and connected to locals. With good food available
Rooms with private facility closer to drinks area An extra blanket would mean I'd not use the air conditioner.
- Ollie (7/5): Good - N/A
- Kristie (7/5): Comfy and friendly - The hosts were so friendly, food was great, great value and bed was warm and comfy No tv in room
- Corey (9/5): Superb -

- Tan (7/5): Good - Was a great resting place. The hotel kept was well kept despite its heritage building. Well done.
- Bek (10/5): Exceptional - The room is immaculate! The price is exceptional! The service on late arrival was welcoming and warm! Thus heritage hotel is very charming! The shower was amazing! I will be staying here more often! Perfect place to stay in country Victoria to relax unwind or stop for the night! The heater was so warm! Couldn't ask for more in a charming room stay! A must visit for travellers! Pet friendly too! It was perfect!
- Carolyn (7/5): Good - Excellent value for money, great break for long road trips.
- Robin (9/5): Robin's review - Friendly staff, hassle free, everything you need on your travels.
- Robin (9/5): Superb - Good people. No hassle. Value for money. Nothing.
- Fabian (8/5): Could get away for guitar , practice and photography over easter - Bar fridge could have had more condiments as you would come to expect to find in bed and breaky. Comfortable fresh sheets, warm accommodating rustic field friendly staff well pricef chips. No cigarette vending machine
Bingo
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sheridan (8/5): Very good - Peaceful No food in room is a crap policy
- Gail (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (7/5): Enjoyed our time so much we returned for a stay on our return journey. - Hosts are convivial and generous. Dinner was generously portioned. The pressure in the plumbing could be improved
- Brodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (7/5): Cheap and cheerful - This is basic pub accommodation and expect to get what you pay for- The food is good and counter dinners start at 6pm. plenty to choose from as in steak, Parma, pizza nachos and more great food and a free pool table and friendly staff. Good spot on the Silo trail with a Rone silo a short walk across from the pub. Also into Ghosts? ask the patron about a possible inhabitant
- Satyajit (8/5): One night stay for 3 adults at Hotel Minapre - We took the rooms with the attached private bathrooms and they were comfortable for a one night stay. Loved the recommendations from the folks and made friends with the little doggie. Nothing to complain about
- Gary (5/5): An acceptable low budget accommodation unnecessarily let down by the above items. - Did not have breakfast there, so cannot comment. Staff were friendly and the meal was excellent. The shared bathroom was run down, floor tiles missing, wall tiles cracked, hand towel dispenser empty, hand wash dispenser empty. The dining area has lots of flies.
- Liam (8/5): Very good -
- Glen (9/5): Superb - The Hospitality of the hotel
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional - Good food 😋 Nothing
- Keith (7/5): The hotel is a perfect place to stay for motorcycle adventure riders and support the country town - I was on a motorcycle adventure tour, and I found the hotel suited my needs. the staff were very friendly and allowed us to store our motorcycles in the back yard for safety. The view from the balcony was amazing. The hotel was a little old and could do with some updating but in a way that added to its charm.
- Dylan (8/5): Very good -
- Adrian (7/5): Good - That it was quiet
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Great food, terrific publicans
- Robbie (8/5): Very good -
- Ivan (10/5): Ideal place to stop on the way back through from SA - Great place, very chill and the owners were very welcoming. Pizza was tasty, dog was adorable and friendly. Pub stays open late unlike most places on our trip :) Would stay again if passing that way in future. All good
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff
- Gary (5/5): Don't expect much. Ok for a one night stay if you are just passing through! - We had dinner and the meals were great. Although the rate is cheap, the hotel room is run down and the bed is sagging. However for one night, it is ok.
- Anushan (9/5): Superb -
- Phoebe (10/5): Friendly, comfortable country pub. - Friendly welcoming people, with a relaxed vibe, clean and comfortable room and great pub food. Definitely a great place to stop.
- Jimmy1998 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Wing (2/5): Very poor -
- Charmaine (4/5): Not a peaceful stay - I was expecting the usual 'pub noise', but not a tv turned on blaring at full volume right outside our room all day and most of the night (they turned it down a little at 10pm), regardless of whether there was anyone out there or not. Also the glass window in the door would benefit from having a curtain on it to keep the beer garden light out at night.
Apart from the fairly bad mold in the shower, the room was very clean and well presented.
- Ashish (1/5): It was horrifying, disgusting, stinking, stressful and the worst stay of our life. We booked it for 3 nights but stayed - Absolutely nothing - Their license to run accommodation and the bar should be stripped of them. I wonder how they are affiliated with booking.com - Rats roaming around the property and when we informed the owner - she said it’s a regional property - what else would you expect!!!
- their dog was roaming around everywhere- we have kids and because of an unfortunate incident with a dog bite - we are wary of dogs and would never expect a dog lurking every few minutes at our room door.
- Dirtiest bathrooms we had ever seen.
- Kitchen is shared but no where mentioned while booking the room.
- Toaster seems to be never cleaned and so does their kettle.
- Isaac (3/5): Poor - The hotel and the township is very quiet, The room is bad. The window is sealed and most of it is blocked by the aircon so you can't see anything. There is cobweb ant the corner and dangling from the ceiling.
it's very basic, and price is reasonable to serve your need. but nothing enjoyable, especially with all the flies (just the area in general).
we arrived and stayed there for 20 mins, then we were lucky to find a last minute room in Sea Lake so we left immediately...
- Ann (3/5): Keep driving Melbourne is not that far away! - Location to the silo art trail Dead flies in bedroom, no water available in kitchen facility for drinking or tea making. Communal Shower so bad didn’t use and couldn’t lock door anyway. Staff lack of customer service and when asked for ice in drink made out it was a big effort.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Doug (6/5): Pleasant -
- Melwin (8/5): For me, right place to sleep for overnight travel - The lady opened the door at 9.59pm and she kept her cool!! Signs on how to enter
- Ivor (8/5): Very good - The room was small but had all our requirements. Dinner was excellent.
- Czecelee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Czecelee (5/5): Passable -
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Keith (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shortt (8/5): Very good - The food was yummy. The room was comfortable. The shower was lovely and hot I didn't like the stairs they were a little wobbly. The bathroom light is sensor and went out three times while showering
- Alan (10/5): great place to stay , fantastic staff , very friendly and welcoming - old fashion pub nothing
- Andrew (4/5): A good location for a stop along the Silo Trail but VERY basic accomodation - The location along the Silo Art Trail is good. A beautiful old pub from the outside. We enjoyed our pizza 'counter meal' in a warm spot in the pub near the heater. The staff were friendly enough. We enjoyed a chat with some other 'tourists' on the trail. Very basic room with a shared bathroom down the hall way. The bathroom light was on a timer so you had to be quick when in there! The room only had 1 power plug so it was a challenge to charge our phones. No TV, heater or electric blankets. No drinkable water upstairs. The shared kitchen had dirty dishes and spider webs and no sink/drinking water!
I don't usually refer to the evacuation plan when staying at accomodation but it was one of the first things I did on this occasion!
Some of the pub 'regulars' were heard arguing and swearing outside in the beer garden until late into the night.
- Leigh (8/5): Very good -
- Belle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monique (8/5): Bucolic! - This hotel was a beautiful old building full of salt-of-the-earth people and staff, the quintesential rural hotel stay. The room (private bathroom double) was very clean and very cozy, keeping warm over night without a heater. Very happy with the stay (and the tiny dog that seemed to be a fixture of the front bar... Hi Lily!). Nothing, it was so quaint. real value for money
