Guest Reviews
- MrDeadhead (7/5): - Friendly host. We had a good supper prepared. There was a weird smell in the room, that we could not get rid off.
- Marc (9/5): - Bon rapport qualité prix, bon emplacement, cave à vin original, hôte sympathique.
- Sejrek (10/5): -
- Usala (7/5): - The deluxe room is very comfortable.
The owner has a vineyard and showed us around in his wine cellar, including some tasting : nice!
Bbq dinner was good and copious. We booked the triple room, but there was no shower, despite the fact that it was mentioned during booking. So we took the deluxe room.
Breakfast can be improved.
- Ppalopp (10/5): Homey place - What an excellent place! Brand new apartment, very clean and comfortable. Very tasty dinner and breakfast. And most importantly, Volodya and Luiza are wonderful hosts - just beware, if Volodya takes you to taste his own wine, you may not know when to finish :-D
- Chau (7/5): - A family-run guest house on a small winery. The owner was nice to show us his wine cellar, offered tasting of different wines. The room was clean and cozy. The place is very much a country home and there are flaws, such as problem of running water.
We paid extra money for an Armenian dinner, but the food was so so.
- Peter (10/5): - Everything was fine and the warm welcome and fantastic food was just an extra bonus.
The wine tasting was fantastic and we used google translate to communicate which was quite helpful! We would definitely recommend this place! Nothing
- Ben (10/5): - Our stay here has been exceptional! Upon arriving we were welcomed and made to feel at home. We were given a free tour of their vineyard and along the way we collected many fruits and veggies from the garden aswell. The wine tour was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in Armenia! So humble to learn that they have been making their own wine for 40 years through a completely natural process… the Armenian way. The room was exceptionally clean, consisting of all the usual amenities that you’d expect. The selling point is definitely the food and wine! There’s always a fruit platter awaiting you at the dining table as a kind gesture from all the lovely people running the place. It’s not your average stay, it’s a whole experience that I’m sure anyone can enjoy and appreciate!
- Michał (9/5): - Nocleg w winnicy, bardzo mili i pomocni właściciele, świetne wino, bardzo dobre śniadanie.
- Joanne (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay and sample the wine from this region. The family run guesthouse does everything to make sure your stay is memorable including a degustation from their wine cellar. The barbecue food is excellent.
- Del Re (9/5): - Friendly host, good breakfast
- Tomas Žatečka (10/5): - Vše se vkusem uděláno panem majitelem ,má vinný sklípek s unikátním vlastním vínem. Útulné ubytování.
- Luna (9/5): Superb - Vladovia gave us a nice wine tasting at 9 pm when we arrived. Delicious dinner! Nice view from the room, it was great to stay at this little winery.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts of this establishment were very friendly! Their food was also phenomenal!
- Primož (10/5): Best Armenia experience of all 8 days. - We really liked our host Volodya, who is aged, but experienced local resident from Areni. He is as Armenian as you can get and he can tell you a lot about life in this country. Wine lovers will especially like him as he takes I guess every guest to his wine cellar. We were curious about details of winemaking and fruit growing and he took time and explained us all. You need a bit of Russian for that but not much, there's a lot you can explain with one word and two hands. Theory is one but with Volodya is also practice as he insist on you trying all four sorts of his wine and they taste awesome.
And all that was just a preface to his dinner which was phenomenal. We ate sashlik barbecued meat and fresh vegetables from his garden and it was delicious. We had quite a cultural evening with Volodya and we would sure want to stay more than one day which I insist you must, even though Areni seems a bit backwater village, but part of Armenia experience is also that and Volodya is a great guide for those. For us it was perfect, but we really like contact with locals. If you just want to sleep it's maybe best to avoid this accomodation.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Hospitality and hearty welcoming Armenian people.
Peaceful place to rejuvenate Na
- Karapet (10/5): Nice guesthouse with amazing owners, vineyard and wine cellar! - We were on our way back from a hike in Artavan to Yerevan when we realized we were too tired to drive all the way and needed a place to stay overnight. We booked a room at Luiza Guest House and despite the late check-in they showed us a super nice hospitality. Volodya, the owner of the guesthouse and vineyard in front of it, invited us to his wine cellar and offered us a free degustation of 4 different types of his amazing wines. But it did not stop there, we went on with taking a bottle with us to their yard and had an amazing late evening drinking wine and chatting with Volodya and his son before going to bed. Overall, it was a very cool experience!
