Guest Reviews
- Tamara (10/5): Exceptional - Its very close to the metro station!
- Eduy (4/5): It’s a motel, not for families. - Location It wasn’t a normal hotel. It was a hotel for “intimate moments”. And it doesn’t say so anywhere in booking, which is the main problem. So imagine how awkward it was staying there with my aunt and nephew. The room has mirrored walls, and pole dancing and stage and no door in the bathroom. They bring you breakfast to your room but there’s no furniture to sit down and enjoy it. It was misleading advertising and it was extremely uncomfortable staying there.
- Amos (7/5): Good -
- Lauren (3/5): Poor - Staff were nice! This is not your conventional hotel. It is clearly suited to “intimidate moments”, which is fine but not clearly advertised as such in booking.com.
- Nahed (7/5): Good - Comfortable The breakfast
- Lisha (10/5): Recommend! - Very nice reception lady, clean room and nice delicious breakfast. Free luggage storage, safe convenient location to everywhere in the city. Highly recommend!
- Safwan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lerentracht (4/5): Taxi Strike didn’t help either! - The lady at reception was very nice and kind. She tried her best with what was there. The property is located not in a clean part of town. A bit out of the way for the attractions and sites.
The hotel is old and shows it. No frills whatsoever. The rooms are old, furniture is old, smelly bathrooms. Can’t open the balcony door because you are right on the busy street. Lots of traffic and gas smells. People smoking right underneath my balcony because it was the front door.
So the lights in the room were very dark. No lamps on the side tables only one little track light on the ceiling. There are no mirrors, other than a small one over the sink in the bathroom.
TV wasn’t working and they couldn’t get the TV repair people in until the day after I left.
I had to bolt my door with chairs and my suitcase because someone tried to come in to my room on the first night. At 10:51 PM, I was in bed and someone unlocked and opened the door. I immediately called reception and they told me it was the housekeeper coming to clean my room. Really at 10:51 pm?!?! Who cleans at 10:51 pm????
Overall not a good experience. I actually think I should be refunded for this trip.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Staff super friendly and helpful.
Room was clean and comfortable
- Ohad (5/5): You can find better - Very wide rooms A small hotel, after two days we had no room, suitable for a very short term. The room is big and beautiful, but very, very dark, in the evening you can't see anything in the room. For those who like a bright room, this is not the place. A shower that is not invested in and is so small that it is impossible to move. The worst and unhealthy breakfast. served to the room. We didn't touch her. The staff is great.
The hotel is suitable for a short visit. no more
- Sophio (10/5): 💜🤗 - Everything was excellent! Thank you so much for everything!
- Andrew (10/5): Nice Hotel - The hotel is in a good location. I walked in and reception was very clean. Check in was quick and easy. Went to room it was modern and very clean. The hotel was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only thing that I can say anything negative about is the elevator is very slow but not really a problem.
- Georgia (6/5): Pleasant - Room services
Staff Facilities - very poor lighting
Bed sheets - low quality
Pillows - low quality
Towels - low quality
Smell - no ventilation
- Sanja (9/5): Superb - The kindnes of young girl receptionist.
- Αγγελινα (9/5): Superb -
- Valentina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Haoyang (9/5): Superb - wonderful breakfast and service!
location is also satisfying, near the bus station and subway station. The elevator was not working, and this is the reason for the only 1 point missing.
However, staffs helped us to carry the luggage, so I think it is totally acceptable.
- Kyriacou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Spyridon (9/5): Superb -
- Gani (9/5): Superb -
- Andria (8/5): Very good -
- Luis (7/5): Good - Great location It’s advertised close to the airport
And it’s way far away
- Sindawy (9/5): Superb -
- Sophie (8/5): Comfortable for 1 night, good location - Well located, good breakfast, friendly staff There’s no carpet in the bedroom and it is some sort of ‘initimate encounter’ hotel which is not really clear when you book on booking.com
- Kremena (9/5): Was a pleasant stay - Good location, nice room with comfortable bed
- Deshantha (10/5): Value for money, excellent location, friendly staff and pleasant rooms. - Great location near the metro station, pleasant reception and staff, good breakfast
Room was as expected, clean, tidy and pleasant.
Bathroom, toilet was thoroughly cleaned with confectionary items (soap, body wash,.. ) I would have liked to have a kettle for hot water, being a tea and coffee person ;)
- Noemi (7/5): Not meant for tourists and longer stays - Staff was very kind and helpful. I loved the area where the hotel is located, not very central, really not tourist-y, but we found an amazing bar, a great coffee place and a really nice restaurant at 5-10 minutes walking distance without any major efforts, and there were a lot more great looking places that we didn't get to try. Very close to the metro, so easy access to more central sights, and the trip from the airport was also okay. I loved the large window with the French balcony, and also the view from there, it is not what others may find picturesque but for me it was an interesting cityscape with a lovely row of mountains in the background. I saw people complain that it's noisy - it is, but a lot less so, than the rest of Athens, I swear it was one of the quieter streets I've seen there. Cleaning was indeed excellent. There is a fridge in the room (a normal one) which can be useful if you want to do a bit of your own deli shopping, but it can get loud at night plus you need to find a spare card to keep the electricity on when you leave the room.
Due to the one-night-stay nature of the place, that I have learned about later, there were some unexpected and weird aspects but overall it was a suitable accommodation for our trip and was very cost efficient. Soooo... this is apparently a hotel for half-night or one-night "intimate encounters", something I didn't really understand from the description here on Booking. And it's furnished accordingly. No carpet, just tiles, no chairs, just a single stool sort of thing, one wall behind us was just a massive mirror, no bedside lamps. For 4 nights to me this felt rather uncomfortable and cold, I would have loved to have chairs, so that I don't need to eat my breakfast on the bed, especially as there was a table or something like that. Also would have loved to have a shelf or some storage space in the bathroom for my toiletries. The breakfast is also a weird one, it gets directly delivered to the rooms, so there are no options, you get what you get. On the 3rd day for some reason they asked of we were vegan, after serving non-vegan things to us for 2 days already (we are not vegan, so we didn't complain). It was okay, there was some fruit, yoghurt and a lot of pastry. But it was also quite inconsistent, the first morning we got local baked little spinach and feta pies that never re-appeared, on one morning we managed to get the double espresso that we asked for but other days got some cappuccino-esque thing with milk upon the same request. Cleaning was also inconsistent, whole room got cleaned after the first night, then nothing, then we asked about it, and got an even bigger cleaning with even a decorative ribbon tie added to the bathroom curtain (??!?) and 2 more bar soaps added to the unopened pile. Our bathroom sink was clogged when we got there, when we signaled this, they cleaned it and it got a bit better but was still somewhat clogged. Water pressure was okay most of the time but I assume it depends on the number of people using it simultaneously, I lost water pressure twice almost completely when I tried to shower.
- Shane (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Comfy rooms. Nothing as only stayed for about 8 hours as didn’t arrive till 3-30 in morning
- Connie (10/5): Oooh our stay was incredible they looked after us so well!! The girls are so helpful and friendly and kind it made our s - The jacuzzi room was absolutely amazing!! The girls on staff were the best I have ever had from getting us our room early to finding our friend a room to snacks and breakfast!! Our big balcony was so wonderful!! It is an absolute amazing property to stay at!! There isn’t a thing I could list!!
- Kok (5/5): Passable -
- Adeel (8/5): Very good -
- Shosh (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): The bed in this hotel is very comfortable. - This is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, the hotel very close to the metro station.
The staff Eftichia was very nice. Since we arrived at the hotel early, she helped us check in temporarily and then change to another room after check in time. The bathroom should have a small table for guests to put things
- Ilias (7/5): Good - It's fresh and quite central The beds are hard. My hip hurt
- Rezzan (6/5): Easy last minute hotel - We booked this hotel last minute when we had to schedule our ferry for the next day. It is a short walk from the metro stop.
It was easy and safe solution for us. The breakfast was very good. Overall it is clean. However, the bathroom & shower does not have a door. We had no privacy so one of us had to wait at the lobby.
- Lecacheux (7/5): a spacious & clean room - clean spacious room not far from metro station noisy street. large window facing the neighbors when the curtains are open
- Phineas (8/5): Very good -
- N (8/5): Very good -
- Shishi_b (5/5): Passable - Location is good because there is not so many tourist, I feel local greece people lives. Someone try to open my room several times. And I couldn't have breakfast because breakfast time start 8AM. Shower room problem is real as many people said.
- Rodolfo (8/5): Very good -
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet place to stay, well located and close to the metro stationⓂ️. the room was clean and confortable. The staff was very helpful.🙏
Breafast was good🥐☕. We will definitely come back🙂.
- Rostyslav (10/5): Thank you so much for good experience with your hotel. When I come next time I will go for sure for your hotel. Kostas i - Service, room, breakfast on the top Level Nothing
- Ainslie (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable room and friendly staff Not much around location
- Gennarelli (3/5): You’re better off paying a bit more elsewhere than having to deal with crummy facilities. - Large room. Good AC. Bathrooms were terrible. No shower curtain and a single sink with no counter space.
- Melanie (10/5): Quiet and safe location away from the bustling tourists areas - Room was lovely, very modern and clean. Staff was excellent too, helping us get a taxi to the airport for 4:00 am. We also loved the neighbourhood! It was away from the heavy tourist areas, while only a few metro stops away from Acropolis etc. In the evening, the nearby park became vibrant with locals, children and pets enjoying the cool evening. Great food in the area too! Nothing!
- Jan (7/5): Good - Location Could be cleaner
- Montebello (8/5): Very good -
- Marco (6/5): Pleasant - It is a central hotel with spacious, modern rooms. The room is clean and the bed is quite big and comfortable. The concierge is very friendly. The refrigerator was attached to the central room power, so it is not working when you pull out the hotel card and you are not in the room, the shower was without the curtains, the bed light on one side didn't work, the breakfast is served only in the room without coffee or cappuccino and you cannot really choose what you would like to have. The room is in front of other buildings, so the only way to keep your intimacy is closing all with the dark curtains. The furniture is really minimal. There is no safe, no water kettle, no tea bags or other welcoming presents.
- Tiffany (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabrielle (6/5): Pleasant - Easy peasey Smokey room⁹
- Phillip (8/5): Very good -
- Antonella88mizzi (6/5): Not our happy place - Bedroom was decent Bathrooms are very old and felt as if it was unclean.
Since the bathroom/shower we had aren't shown in the pictures you wouldn't know as we've only seen nice once in the pictures when Choosing
- Krista (8/5): Very good - Clean & great price. Friendly & accommodating staff It was a bit further from plaka than I would’ve liked
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Plamen (7/5): Good -
- Andria (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Lizzy (9/5): Superb -
- Elisa (3/5): Poor - The hotel is for “intimate moments”. Please do make it explicit in the description of the website, as it’s so awkward to find it out upon arrival. No chairs or basic furniture in the room, which is ridiculous in a hotel worthy of this name.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - Very spacious. Abundant breakfast (maybe too much). Bed/pillows a bit uncomfortable. Window not sound proof. At the 3rd floor was possible to hear all the street noises
- Stephanie (10/5): Excellent stay at Ruby Rooms! - Hotel was a little unexpected when we first arrived but it was really late at night (around 2am) but check-in was super straightforward. We got into our hotel room very quickly and went to bed, and then the following day had a wander around the area to get our bearings. The view of the Acropolis from our window was a sight to see! Beds are super comfy, the staff were wonderful, the breakfast was simple but delicious, shower was amazing - all round it was a perfect stay! Getting the window open behind the curtain was a little awkward because the curtain opened to the centre of the window rather than to the ends. It would have been nice to have a little book on the table with things like the wifi password and the instructions for breakfast, but both very minor things and didn't affect our stay.
- Mariophy6 (10/5): Exceptional - Location was close to city centre and metro.
Breakfast was good but daily croissants aren't very healthy
- Wiltshire (10/5): Best Stay Ever - On arrival the greeting was fantastic everything about Ruby rooms is great. I would definitely recommend Ruby rooms and I will be back myself for another says. The staff we so helpful with every request. Thanks ♥️ Everything about Ruby rooms was outstanding.
- Nino (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable room. With the close vicinity with Agios Ionannis metro station. Polite and attentive staff and nice breakfast.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Staff were exceptional. The hotel is very lax about the types of clients that stay there. I think that they should exercise better discretion on the clientele.
- Zephine (8/5): Good, not the best. - The staff was super nice and helpful, reception 24h, wonderful people.
The towels and sheets were clean and welcoming.
The wifi was pretty good for Greece. The breakfast was complicated for vegans. They did try to accommodate us with some fruits and juice, and I appreciated this. But altogether we preferred to skip breakfasts.
Also, it is a bit far from the city center and the room could have been cleaner.
- Daria (9/5): Totally recommend this hotel! - Super nice and helpful staff, clean and really nice room, location near the subway station Breakfast was already prepared and packed container - all the products were foiled. Fresh products would be wayyy better.
- Levente (8/5): Very good - The staff was really nice.
The room was unique, equipped enough for a couple of days.
The location was quite good, there was a lot shopping places for everyday needs.
The priceing was fair.
The city center is not far from the building , only 4 metro steps and the nearest metro station is on the corner. The lift was quite tricky.
But other than that everything was good.
- Enxhi (10/5): Exceptional -
- El (7/5): Good - I booked a classic room for myself as I was traveling alone. However, the room turned out to be noisy due to traffic on the street and neighbors singing until 5:00 AM. I requested a room change, and the staff was accommodating and understanding. They provided me with a more comfortable room that had significantly less noise. The coffee tasted terrible and was served cold. The breakfast portion seemed insufficient for my needs, and there was a lack of variety in the selection. Additionally, as I don't consume ham, chicken and meat, I asked them to alter my breakfast, and they were understanding of my request.
- Katerina (7/5): Good - The size of the room was good with a comfortable bed. The room was scarcely equipped and you had the impression that furniture is missing. There was no shower curtain or cabin so whenever you took a shower the bathroom fled.
- Skantzos (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Great accommodation!!! - Great location!!
A fewvsteps from Metro station!!
Friendly and polite people working there!!!
- Sharon (7/5): Good - Very clean room .basic but very good breakfast.
It's very good for his porpose. The room is very basic. No table,no cheir.look carefully on the room amenities, very simple.it's only good for his porpose ( very short stay for few hours)
- Michael (8/5): Overall, I love my stay there. It was peaceful and private. - The hotel was just as advertised. What you see is what you get. The elevator was sketchy. An old button tied with tape, it made me wonder if the elevator can really from the same building.
- Emmanouil (9/5): Superb -
- Abdullah (10/5): The best value for your money you could ask for in the heart of the city. - I liked that the room came with everything we wanted for our stay over night, and that spa tub was the cherry on top. Nothing as matter of fact, but I'd have to dig deeper I'd say maybe leave some wine glasses 🙂
- Ester-ana (10/5): Gorgeous room , great local for the city , great staff - Everything ! Nothing !
- Georgeta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Savina (10/5): For a comfy and luxurious getaway - Everything was great! The place, the stuff, the value! Would 10/10 recommend it! Pillows were a bit too big. A variety or an extra thinner pair would be ideal.
- Jarne (7/5): Good -
- Diana (10/5): It was truly value for money as the room desigb is beautiful, always the lady cleaning the room and freshen it up as wel - I truly loved the hotel, how clean it was, the amenities and also the breakfast so nice! Just wish it could be more diversified breakfast and maybe a kettle in the room.
- Vlasis (8/5): Very good -
- Miranda (8/5): Very good -
- Hussam (9/5): Superb - Staff are good, rooms are clean, breakfast is delicious
- Hussam (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (5/5): Good for an hour - Staff were friendly and helpful. Tried hard to get to vegan breakfast. No seat in the room, not enough sockets, poor lighting with no lamps.
- Xena (6/5): Decent stay, if the breakfast was better, would’ve enjoyed it a lot more. Thought the location would be closer to the ce - The room looked very nice, modern and comfortable, nice staff and accommodated when I asked for a kettle, had to buy a mug though as they didn’t have any, only glasses. Organised taxi to take us to airport early morning. Great that it was 24 hour reception operation. Tv was only in Greek language, was unable to change for us to watch the tv. We really didn’t like the bathroom, maybe it’s not just this hotel but it was an open shower with no walls, I didn’t like this because everything in the bathroom got wet. The rack on the bathroom door was hanging off. Breakfast was probably the worst part of the stay, was nice that it got delivered to the room, but it was dry, only had two different breakfasts which they alternated. For us when it include breakfast in the price, it wasn’t worth it at all, had to buy our own breakfast.
- Haim (9/5): Superb -
- Eligijus (9/5): Undiscovered gem near the center! - First of all, the location was superb - the metro station was 5 minutes away. Additionally, a laundromat, cafes, and a hookah bar were all 10 min away.
Secondly, the staff was always very helpful and said "Hello" and "Goodbye" every time I passed them. The only gripe I have with the location is that the breakfast was not hot. Every morning a staff member brought a box of goodies for me to eat. But that, of course, is not a big issue.
- Yang (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient location, close to the subway, nice staff, wonderful breakfast service!
- Campbell (9/5): Superb -
- Seija (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Sefer (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Vania (10/5): Perfect - Everything
- Constantinos (10/5): Exceptional - Great room, wonderful stuff
Breakfast could have been better.
Overall, great experience
- Alie (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (3/5): Very poor accommodation, would not recommend to a stray dog. - It was relatively quiet in the room. The bed was not made, only had two uncomfortable pillows. There was a strong lingering smell of cigarettes. The bathroom was poor, no shower screen, the shower head did not fit in the holder. The bed was itchy.
