Guest Reviews
- Charles (10/5): More than met my expectations - Quiet retreat right in the jungle but close enough to town and the beach riding a bicycle to enjoy them daily. The staff was outstanding and accommodating. No hot water. Just warm
- Suzanne (9/5): We will definitely stay there again. Quiet, safe and lots of nature - The room was on a little creek. Lots of birds around. Very quiet which was a relief after the cayes. The manager was very helpful and interested in all our opinions. He arranged a great tour.
There was free water in the room and a nice kitchenette. We thought we had lost a big amount of money on the islands tour. The owner and manager went to a lot of trouble to help us locate it. Luckily we found it but will always appreciate the concern and help they gave. The room doesn’t have enough daylight. So it was dark during the day although there is a nice screened deck to sit on and listen to birds.

- Keith (8/5): Nice cabin close to Hopkins, but also far enough away to avoid the town bustle. - It's a perfectly comfortable cabin to crash in while you explore. Hopkins. It provides the basic amenities, like a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, sink, and some cookware, silverware, plates bowls (although the range and stove didn't actually work, but I didn't need them)? There's also a small screened porch where you can leave shoes and hang wet clothing and towels. The shower didn't have any hot water. I'm too much of a wimp to take cold showers, so there's that. The coffee maker and toaster have to be plugged in by kneeling on the floor, opening the cabinet, and reaching to the back to access the outlet. I guess that's just one of the cute things about cabins sometimes. The stove and range didn't work although I wasn't doing any cooking anyway, but it's good to be aware of.
Also, while this is something the hosts have no control over, it's worth noting that you can't be outside for even a minute. I was waiting for the cleaning staff to finish preparing the room and got destroyed by sand fleas in about 2 or 3 minutes flat. You have to simply move from your car to the cabin, or back, as quickly as possible when you arrive or head out on an exclusion.
But the cabin itself is comfortable. It was a perfectly good place to sleep at night between day trips to Hopkins.
- Barela (9/5): Superb - Cabana was very comfy and had everything. There could be more lighting going into the destination amd in the yard, besides that really nice place to stay.
- Janae (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, clean, and spacious. No frills but everything we needed in a peaceful jungle location near Hopkins. A rental car is definitely helpful in this location. The sweet canine welcoming committee was an added bonus! We loved this spot, thought it was a great value, and would stay again! We loved it!
- Human (8/5): All you need, comfortable and homely in a lively world of the forest! - Nestled off the main road along a river creek, detached from the common tourist attractions yet close enough.
I loved that I could feel at home, in-between huge trees and palms, surrounded by the sounds of the forest. The cottages are rustic and comfortable, all one needs. If I had the opportunity, I would stay for a few months.
The river is fresh and clean and bird life exceptional.
Host is amazing and really looked after us with a smile!
Love this place!
- Julie (9/5): Lovely rustic cabana, outside of Hopkins village - Very helpful and friendly staff. Julian who runs a tour/transfer bysiness went out of his way to help organise transfers to and from the cabanas. Communication via the app while we were still planning our holiday was really good. We were also offered free taxi rides to and from Hopkins village everyday. We asked for and were loaned bikes for one day (albeit quite rickety ones). The cabana was clean and comfortable. The price reflects the fact that the accommodation was fairly basic and out of town. But it felt safe and we loved the rustic jungle feel. Great for a couple of nights to explore Hopkins without the price tag. Of the 3 cabanas onsite, ours had the least natural light inside and on the netted balcony. Unfortunately you didn't want to sit around outside due to mozzies, unless fully loaded with deet.
Ideally you need a hire car to explore (there's nothing in walking distance) although Julian was really obliging with a lift in one of his Taxis to pop into Hopkins whenever we wanted.
- Ysaguirre (8/5): Very good -
