• Brahim (6/5): Not happy - I wasn't pleased with the strong smell of cigarette when I walked to the property ,there was no Internet I requested it twice, and he said he did the top up but no Internet at all. One day we walked in and there was no light we had to chase the landlord for the light and we end up sitting in dark for over 1 hour and 30 minutes. The was no water on our first day and we had to call and ask no water on the tab.and it did happened twice .... I wouldn't recommend that place for the value of money we paid. Please see above
• Thorlakur (4/5): Former nice apartment complex in need of restoration, incomplete communication with landlord. - We opted for renting an apartment rather than staying in a resort hotel as we were three adults travelling together. The apartment complex is nicely organised, with pool area close by and a small market. There is a guarded entrance and we felt safe staying there. The apartment is spacious with two balconies, one smaller in the shade and the larger one with sun all day long. There was both a washer and a dishwasher and of course air conditioning in the living room and bedrooms. When we arrived there was no one to meet us for check-in. After a few phone calls and texting we finally got the keys but were not showed around. The indoor air had a bad smell, like there had been a lot of smoking taking place in the past. This gradually decreased over the next few days with increased ventilation. The cleanliness was ok, but the bathroom is in need of an overhaul. Towels were too few and worn out, in the bedroom closet we found a couple of beach towels that we used. We also had to look for the duvet covers, which we found in the closet, as only the bedsheets and pillow covers had been arranged. We had problem with mosquitoes, one of us got severely affected. We were careful with closing all doors and windows in the evenings and applying anti mosquito lotion, but somehow they seemed to be able to enter the place and bite us. Although the apartment complex is well laid out maintenance seems to have been neglected and it is in a need for overhaul, especially the pool area. The photos on booking.com seem to have been taken in it’s early days prior to detoriation.
