Guest Reviews
- Monika (5/5): Our stat was disappointing because of the heat. We just couldn’t escape it whether we were outside or inside. - It was a cute little apartment not too far out of the City centre although it’s on the other side of the river. It was way too hot. Europe was experiencing a heatwave 34-38C and the air conditioning was nowhere near adequate for a top floor apartment. I feel that would have been the case even if the outside temperature was 32, which is common at the end of June. There is one small air con in the loft area facing away from the bed in the loft that managed to cool down the living area but never reached the bedroom or the loft bed (which is high up and hot air rises). The bedroom has a fan but it was still boiling in the room so we had to open the windows all night which meant the mosquitos had a food feed during the night. We also had to move the loft mattress to the living room floor as it was too hot for the kids to sleep there. The stairs leading up to the apartment were very steep and numerous, we had to be careful not to lose our footing as the stairwell is very dark. The electricity in the whole building went out at 10pm on our first night which made sleeping even harder as neither the fan nor the air con were working. The power came back on sometime during the night. Then the power went out again at midday the following day. The owner was very proactive and called the electricity company on our behalf so the electricity was restored by the time we got back from our outing. The property is cheap for a reason and although I agree you get what you pay for, I wouldn’t stay there again in the summer months. It would be quite comfortable the rest of the year as I have no complaints about the interior of the apartment at all.
- Handre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ioanna (5/5): I would never book this place if I knew - Location only
Bedding quality - Super steep stairs, if you are traveling with kids or with large suitcases I wouldn’t recommend
- the toiletries were not enough for 3 people
- there was dust on the ceiling fan, we cleaned it ourselves to avoid dust spreading everywhere
- the place doesn’t have a seating area, except a kitchen table. The living room has one armchair and a hard bench.
-the location is great but it was super loud
-there was not a snack bar as described, only coffee
- the pillows are extremely hard and high
- Dennis (9/5): Lovely, well-equipped apartment in a convenient location at the top of a steep set of stairs. - The apartment is in an excellent location across the river from the main tourist zone; a 15 -20 minute walk from the Uffizi gallery or the Duomo. There are several restaurants of various types within a 5 minute walk. The beds are comfortable and it has a good shower. The kitchen is generally well equipped (except for the lack of a coffee maker or mokapot, if one does not like instant coffee). The main bedroom was very spacious; the second sleeping space was a loft. We were a group of 4 adults and very much enjoyed our stay. Not something that can be changed, just to make others aware: the apartment is at the top of 48 steep, narrow stairs that can be a problem for people with mobility problems or, possibly, small children. The sleeping loft might present problems for the same groups.
- Ruslan (9/5): Superb - Everything was fine. Location of the house, cleanliness and attitude towards us The stairs are at a very steep angle, making it difficult to lift and then lower the bags. However, considering that it is an ancient house, we can consider it normal.
- Odette (9/5): Superb - Location
Cleanliness
Spacious
Quiet
Adequate crockery and cutlery We were not aware of the many stairs up to the apartment, as it was on the 3rd floor
Iron did not work.
Could have done with a microwave oven
Needed a few more towels as there were 3 people sharing
- Nino (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kully (1/5): Bad - TV not working. No kettle, no microwave, no toaster, no toiletries, no scissors, no bins! Electricity cut out. Was told not to use too much electricity even though there was no TV, kettle, microwave, or toaster. Really steep stairs, no lift. Very difficult to take luggage up to the top floor of the apartment. No light at the top of the stairs. Paid street parking will get expensive. No tea and coffee facilities. Toilet paper made of graphene. Bed unsafe at top mezzanine for children. No sofa, just a small hard bench. Completely unsuitable for a family.
