• Bronwyn (6/5): Location is great, living areas great, bedrooms - meh - Location was great, living area was good. Bedrooms were very small, one of the single beds was ‘broken’ and we had to repair it before it could be slept on. Showers leaked so bathroom floor was wet and slippery after a shower, towels did not dry so trying to dry yourself with a damp towel - not ideal or comfortable. Air conditioning/ heating was temperamental, outside security lighting came through bedroom windows all night - blinds not sufficient to block it out. There were no staff on site.
• Jenny (3/5): Very disappointing description needs updating , wouldn’t recommend - It was in a great location to the royal theatre There were 18 stairs to get down to bedroom and bathroom which were not in the description of room, I wouldn’t have booked it if stated as I struggle with stairs. One of the showers had been leaking for sometime and the bedroom carpet was saturated in front of bathroom door and in the wardrobe and could smell the mould Booked for 3 nights stayed one still waiting for the 2 night refund (that i was assured I would be getting) as could not stay with the stairs and smell Photos show stairs not in description definitely not disable friendly
• Jennifer (9/5): Top dollar apartment. - Great location towards the edge of the city, so quiet, but accessible to all the city has to offer, both by a short walk or a tram stop at the top of the street. Attractively furnished apartment and well kept apartment block. The pool was cleaned daily, in the morning. Everything needed to cook and prepare food. Good air con and alternative heating system, perfect for changeable temperatures during an autumn day and night. Thorough communication from hosts prior to check in and just before check out. Key collection from a local shop, less than a 5 minute walk away. Gordon’s Place - cafe on the ground floor of the apartment block store your luggage before check-in. And the cafe serves fantastic coffee, breakfast/brunch and a couple of inventive full meal choices. We had a great trip to Melbourne, of which our stay at Gordon’s Place made an important contribution to.
• Tanya (7/5): Great location but suspicious security deposit request - Loved that I got charged for a security deposit and paid the $15 surcharge for the privilege. This was disclosed in the listing but didn’t realise that payment would be requested outside of the booking platform. So it was a very strange experience. The lock box was located down an alley that smelt very badly of urine and had no lighting. So it felt unsafe to get the key as a female with 2 children. Location was heat and the apartment was exactly what we needed. The children loved the flexibility of a dedicated bedroom and ensuite and not a sofa bed. The kitchen was well appointed. We even got to play with the famous corgi dog from the cafe
