Guest Reviews
- Rochelle (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and size of property, comfortable beds, and the host was friendly and contactable. Unfortunately, this home didn't live up to expectations. The photos tell a different story than what you arrive to. This property needs a decent deep clean, the bed in the bedroom with no ensuite had to be changed as there was sand through the sheets, towels etc were in the washing basket from previous guests, something had been dropped in the entry way so we were greeted by ants. The website mentions a hot tub, but this isn't accurate as it is just a bath in the main bathroom with jets (and still does not work). This home needs some TLC to match the price per night. I.E. just remove the blinds by the stairs rather than leaving them broken. Fix the doors so they slide properly, the outside gardens need to be maintained, and give the home a deep clean. This home could be magnificent if it was given some love. If this home was well maintained, we would definitely be back, but it worked for what we needed it for.
- Alanna (6/5): Pleasant - The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The house itself is spacious, and there’s convenient on-site parking for two small cars. I particularly enjoyed the living areas, which were inviting and perfect for relaxing. The couches were cozy, ideal for a comfortable movie night. Additionally, the host was excellent with communication and very pleasant to interact with. Unfortunately, the condition of the house left much to be desired. Upon arriving, the driveway was cluttered, with overflowing bins emitting a strong odor. Palm fronds had fallen and obstructed the path to the front gate, and the gardens were untended, with leaves scattered across the entertainment areas and large seeds littering the driveway. Inside the house, I noticed a large red stain on the steps, which appeared to be blood, possibly from someone stubbing their toe. The kitchen floor was covered in crumbs, and cobwebs, along with small spiders, were visible throughout the house. Though the house itself is beautiful and well-built, it seems to be quite neglected. Several doors were inoperable, and the bathroom window upstairs was broken, unable to close properly.
To my surprise, I found men's boxers left in one of the drawers while unpacking. The listing mentioned a hot tub, but instead, there was a spa bath in the master that was not functional. The kitchen lacked hand soap, and some rooms were missing towels—there was a note explaining this, saying the towels had been left in the dryer due to time constraints. Several lights were not working, and one was even hanging from the ceiling when we entered. The oven appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time, and while the house is approximately 25 years old, it was clear that little maintenance had been done to keep it in good condition. The pool fence was covered in bird droppings, and the pool had not been cleaned—there were numerous leaves and large spider webs around the area, which we had to remove with a broom before we could enjoy it.
Everything felt worn and in need of attention, which was disappointing given the price for renting. To make matters worse, I noticed what appeared to be blood splatter on the blinds in the upstairs bathroom.
