Guest Reviews
- Cassandra (8/5): -
- Humphreys (10/5): Perfect - Rooms, staff, everything. - I booked a double ensuite room for some friends who were coming to visit Bungendore (I already live here). I wasn't expecting anything great, and honestly thought the price was a little high at first. Having seen the rooms and had feedback from my friends, I now know that the price is more than justified.
We booked in for a Monday night stay, then found out the pub and restaurant are closed those days. I thought the place might feel cold and a little scary with everything closed, especially for two women on their own, but it was not the case at all.
The rooms are modern and comfortable while still honouring the history of the building. The beds were large and comfortable and the bathroom was great (good water pressure, nice and clean etc).
I would like to make special mention to the fact that at the last minute I needed to upgrade the room I booked to have two beds not one. A last minute change to the guests made one bed difficult. The team could not have been more helpful. Special shout out to Minnie. The fob was a bit tricky to use to get in but eventually worked
- Steve (10/5): Wonderful pub and outstanding staff - The staff were truly sensational. Everything was wonderful
- DEBORAH A (8/5): -
- Vicki (9/5): short and sweet - The room had everything you could want or need. It was very modern and neat and tidy.
Checkin was easy and staff were friendly.
Great location in town, and sister pub just down the road.
I also liked the shared kitchen area where we could put our road trip snacks overnight and make a cup of tea in the morning. The rooms are small so a one night stay is plenty. The only window was a ceiling light so it did feel a little claustrophic. I couldn't work the ceiling fan (my fault) and the TV kept trying to run an udpate every 5 seconds which was a little annoying, but we weren't there for the TV.
- Laura (1/5): Lousy room no person to person contact, would never stay there again. - No window no aircon hot and airless in May cold outside awful inside. Do not recommend expensive considering what you get.
- Gerard (10/5): -
- Nigel (10/5): Very pleasant mid journey overnight if heading to the snow or just a country visit - Great refresh, staff were excellent and bistro provided great service and food. The room was comfortable and tidy etc It was excellent
- Lisa (9/5): Relaxing rural town break - New hotel rooms. Beds very comfy. Vibrant atmosphere in the bar. Bathrooms were tiny with no shelf space to put toiletries
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Stan (8/5): Great place to stay but lacking atmosphere for Mon/Tue stays as the pub is closed -
- Miles (9/5): Great hotel & bedrooms, dinner was very nice, complete street was very historical and pleasant, - Very clean and well-presented hotel/pub, great atmosphere, food was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pillows!..... trying to think of something else.....maybe open for breakfast...?
- Duncan (10/5): -
- Martin (3/5): Disappointing due to lack of ventilation in room. - Nice country pub The room is an internal room with no ventilation. Very stuffy and uncomfortable.
- John (9/5): Lovely old hotel, immaculately restored. Wonderful staff. - Our one-night stay was very comfortable. The room was well-equipped and the staff very friendly and helpful - to the extent that one young member of staff sourced a bar of soap for us (the hotel had provided liquid soap, which neither of us particularly like). Very thoughtful. We ate in the hotel. Food was delicious. Nothing.
- Aaron (10/5): Definitely will be back! - The facilities as a whole were absolutely amazing, a beautifully renovated pub with clean rooms.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic! A/C in the room would be a bonus, but the fan kept it comfortable
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Terry (7/5): -
- Trevor (3/5): I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone I know - The bed was very comfy The room was stuffy, no window, no aircon,no in room facilities and for the price that was outrageous to just provide a communal kitchen
- Richard (9/5): Loved it. - The lovely staff and the pub’s atmosphere. Go the mudchooks and mudchicks!😉
- Alice (7/5): - It was a bit noisy downstairs due to state of origin, but that's to be expected I guess
- Sally (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): Great staff and hosts, welcoming and clean, chic rooms with comfortable bedding. - Great hospitality and nice, well presented pub with chic modern rooms and high level cleanliness.
- Robyn (9/5): -
- Riley (8/5): Most enjoyable - There was no breakfast which was disappointing. Lack of breakfast..
Hotel closed Monday and Tuesday with initial access awkward.
- Jenny (7/5): -
- Mark (7/5): A wonderful stay and a lovely pib woth grest staff. The township os fantastic. Put some aircon into the rooms and al - This is a beutifull and classic old country pub. It has been kept beutifully and the staff are excellent. The rooms are perfect with the exception of low airflow and no aircon. We were there on a 41deg day. The rooms had very little airflow and stayed hot all night. This needs to be addressed. No sleep had at all and a terrible drive home.
- Troy (6/5): A great place to stay - we were unlucky with the combination of room and the weather - Great classic iconic Pub freshly renovated. Our room (room 4) did not have aircon or even a window and during a recent heatwave - was uncomfortable to sleep in. Although unusual for Bungendore to have a very hot day and night - unfortunately we were unlucky.
- Elsa (9/5): -
- Colin (7/5): - No A/c and small room
- Karen (7/5): Good pub stay for overnight whilst travelling. Clean and comfortable. - Easy walk to cafes. Dining on site or at sister hotel 150 meters down the street. No access in room for fresh air.
- Robyn (9/5): Sumptuous pleasant quiet private easy access - It was unique and unexpected nice touches
Renovated in a really lovely way
We stayed on a Monday night not realising that the hotel wasn’t open
But it was actually really nice because we felt like we had the place to ourselves haha I actually can’t think of anything major
A microwave might be handy in the shared kitchen
- Leanne (8/5): Great stay in town for family get together - Clean and tidy lovely bar good food Liked it all
- Felicity (8/5): - Easy check in, comfortable room & great renovation.
- Robyn (4/5): Great old pub - Location No air, no window in the room. The TV didn’t work I asked to speak to the manager she advised me she was with customers. I explained I was a customer too and my tv didn’t work, she finally come and fixed it but wasn’t happy.
- Tony (8/5): -
- Hazwani (9/5): - Its nice for rural hotel. Good thing that its newly renovated. I had a pleasant stay. No hairdryer in the room.
- Tony (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Excellent! - Great modernisation, excellent food. Rooms very comfortable.
- Elisabeth (9/5): -
- Roslynne (8/5): - Clean and functional Very small room and bathroom. Would have been very uncomfortable sharing with another. No room heating or cooling meaning room got stuffy with no windows to open.
- Mini2707 (10/5): - The staff were amazing and so accommodating. The venue and rooms were amazing and the food was delicious. I could not fault the eservice. Nothing.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Joe (10/5): a great place, friendly staff, good food, well priced - we didn't eat breakfast it was all great, no negatives to comment on
- Michael (10/5): Would definitely come back - Super friendly staff - a great stay It was too notch
- Paul (10/5): Lovely place for a stay in Bungendore. - Cleanliness . Facilities. Staff
- Belinda (5/5): What we needed but would not stay again - Great location for what we needed Room very small.
And Very noisy as noises echoes upstairs to our room from downstairs.
And from people walking to there room early in the morning woke us up as loud.
And very early morning cleaners vacuuming and loud music(while they clean)like at 6-45am and could hear it all in our room.
- Anxia (9/5): -
- Joey Adrian (10/5): Fantastic - Refurbishment is amazing
- Andrew (7/5): - Nice pub. Good food. Bad toilet paper.
The ceiling fan didn't work.
- Peter (9/5): perfect stay, in a wonderful hotel. Amazing bed, shower and room and great pub food. - . Wifi connectivity. Lack of easy access to chromecast on TV
- Tracy (5/5): Overall room was disappointing but staff and downstairs facilities excellent! - Staff were exceptional, kind, caring with great customer service.
Food and drinks were great. Room instead extremely disappointing.
Room was tiny with no windows, hair in the drain that had to be removed to save the ensuite flooding.
Bed was ridiculously soft and so one of us had to sleep on the floor so we didn’t roll on top of each other in the sink hole in the middle of the bed.
- Peter (9/5): - . .
- Alison (9/5): Great Overnight Stay - Great for an overnight stay. The room, though small, was clean. The bed was comfy & the ensuite bathroom was suitable.
We liked the shared kitchen and dining space, which was separate from our room.
It was very handy having the bar & bistro downstairs, not too far to wander 'home'.😉
- Deborah (3/5): The stay was pleasant but very overpriced for what it was. This was more like city prices. In the regional areas of NSW - Friendly staff
Clean room The queen room was very small for the price we paid for one night ($260). The bathroom was very small with only a shower curtain, there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom or put toiletries exact on the small basin and no amenities except for soap and sanitary bags.
The only window in the room was frosted and looked into a communal kitchen area where people could sit and have coffee and tea. We could hear visitors in this area chatting throughout the evening.
- Matthew (10/5): Beautifully renovated pub with first class amenities. - Sensational rooms with private bathroom and ultra comfortable beds. Good food and great staff. Go the Wallabies! Very expensive for a country stay
- Sandra (5/5): Lovely place. - Great location, clean and very comfortable. The TV didn't work and the heater didn't work but didn't really need it.
- K (10/5): - Centrally located and easy walk to everything in town
- Leonard (10/5): Great weekend stay, staff were very welcoming and great to deal with. Will be back again for sure. - Beautifully presented property, well maintained.
- Gianluigi (9/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Great hotel, and affordable accommodation option in a great location. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing! - The room and hotel area was so clean, and perfect for a short stay.
- Bruce (2/5): Cold, cramped, nowhere to sit - Way too small room
Heater didn’t work
Nowhere for luggage (we put it in corridor)
No bedside table
No chair
Kitchen was shared, down corridor
No one at reception, and didn’t answer phone - had to chase them down at another location
All this would be understandable if the charge was $90, but not $180!
- Catherine (8/5): Will definitely stay again on our way through - Clean, warm, great bedrooms Kitchen needed a toaster
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Banani (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Annette (8/5): Very good -
- Trevor (10/5): Great pub stay - Extremely comfortable bed
Awesome meals
Fantastic service Absolutely nothing
- Richard (7/5): Stayed overnight to attend a farewell dinner fora mate everything was great - It is a great country style pub
- Garry (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (8/5): Cozy comfortable room with ensuite and in a nice quiet town. - The bed was comfortable. Nothing
- Margot (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (5/5): It was average for the money spent - I wanted my own fridge
- Du (9/5): The room was a bit small, no window (only a skylight), no view, so it felt like it wasn't worthly. - very nice the little town. very good location. The hotel's decoration is a bit antique, and the public areas are very comfortable and elegant. The room was a bit small, no window (only a skylight), no view, so it felt like it wasn't worth the price.
- Peter (8/5): A bit pricey for the room in a rural setting. - Good location, good food . After closing time music from the bar was still. Blaring . We had to go down the rear stairwell and into the hoytel to turn the music off in the front 2 bar rooms. This was at 10.00pm . Bar shuts 9.00 pm.
- Lee (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday party vibe - Location, staff & live band on Saturday night were fantastic! Room could have been a little bigger but was good for our short stay
- Craig (10/5): Royal accommodation - Clean tidy pub, rooms small but exceptionally clean, foods amazing and we had a band on that night as well, what’s to ask for? Nil
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good -
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good -
- Bdt (9/5): Superb -
- Kimberley (10/5): Exceptional -
- O'brien (10/5): fantastic. - the rooms were fantastic -1 degree weather outside
- Brenna (7/5): Good location. Clean. Nice food. Friendly staff. - Location was great. The staff were very friendly.
- Tom (5/5): Passable -
- Stuart (10/5): Great Aussie PubStay - Old Australian Pub, which has been renovated respecting its history, while giving you all the modern facilities where needed
- Paul (4/5): At the end of the day, I will not go through Booking.com again - I wasn’t told there was no fridge and not to pick up the key from lake George hotel because the pin that was given to me didn’t work on the side of the wall so I was back-and-forth
- Jane (2/5): Very poor - Lack of ok consideration for guests with excessively loud noise from band after 11pm.
Expensive for size of room and facilities.
- Melissa (5/5): Passable - The location and renovations The size of the room in particular the bathroom. We actually had to walk off the tile area of the bathroom into the bedroom to dry ourselves after having a shower as there wasn’t enough space . We though that there would’ve been a door at the top of the stairs to stop noise As we were in the first room at the top of the stairs the noise carried.
Our room backed onto a communal sunroom and there was a gap in the window which could not be closed properly and therefore no privacy .
- Belinda (6/5): Pleasant -
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - Staff were great
- Paul (5/5): No plans to stay again. - NIL breakfast as facility closed which we found out after booking.
Friendly & helpful staff Rooms overpriced for what was offered.
First bedroom did not have a window; second choice had a window looking into common area. No wardrobes available but hooks on wall. Space around bed limited and no facility to place suitcases/luggage.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Jeanette (10/5): Beautifully restored hotel in a great little town! - Great location walking distance to everything!
We loved the quality of the tasteful renovation and the beautiful balcony and kitchen for guests to use was great too! The manager that looked after us was also incredible. She was so accomodating and worked so efficiently, even running the busy trivia night amongst all her other duties! Thank you for a wonderful stay in beautiful hotel in such a pretty little town! We liked everything!
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Great country pub - Great quality bar and accommodation The room was not air conditioned
- Alex (10/5): Really nice town, great spot. - What a fantastic town and location. I really enjoyed the village. We were here for a wedding and had a cracking time.
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Thank you. - It was a clean , comfortable and dark room. Room needed small things like a box of tissues, small toothpaste etc. Vacuuming started while we were asleep in the morning.
- Helouys (7/5): Good - In general the accommodation was lovely Lack of disability access and my room being close to a loud event.
- Darren (8/5): Very good -
