The breakfast was nice, and the staff was friendly. The downstairs entrance lobby could use better cleaning and maintenance to give the hotel a slightly better esthetic. It appeared quite dusky.

Die Nähe zu zwei wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten war für uns bei der Buchung ausschlaggebend. Man kann zu Fuß zum Ägyptischen Museum gehen und zu Fuß von den Pyramiden zurück zum Hotel spazieren (hin muss man 5 min. mit dem Taxi fahren, weil der Eingang an einer anderen Stelle als der Ausgang ist.) Der permanente Lärm von der stark befahrenen Straße (dauerndes Gehupe, Motorengeräusche von Motorrädern und sehr alten Fahrzeugen) ist sehr nervig, nicht nur, wenn man auf der Terrasse sitzt, sondern auch nachts. Der Verkehr wird nachts kaum weniger und es gibt keine Lärmschutzfenster.

• SarahOhm (9/5): - Das Hotel ist super. Ich hatte Bedenken weil alle Hotels in Gizeh schlecht bewertet sind ob nicht auch dieses Hotel sich als schlecht raus stellt trotz guter Bewertungen. Doch ich würde nicht enttäuscht. Für Ägyptische Verhältnisse ist es perfekt. Das Zimmer ist sauber, es fand jeden Tag eine Reinigung statt wenn man es wollte. Es gab Handtücher, einen Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Tee und warmes Wasser war ausreichend vorhanden. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte und das Frühstück war lecker und verträglich. Klar es ist kein europäischer Standard aber in Ägypten sollte man das auch nicht verlangen. Für Gizeh die beste Empfehlung die ich geben kann. Vor allem für den Preis. Nichts.

They arranged taxis for us whenever we needed, and even when we returned late at night, they welcomed us warmly. When we had to leave earlier than breakfast time, they thoughtfully packed our breakfast to take with us. Before we came back each day, they would turn on the air conditioning so the room was cool and comfortable upon our arrival. As we had a group tour early in the morning, the hotel staff arranged and sent us breakfast that we could pack and bring out before the breakfast time, and they also checked with us daily on what time we needed breakfast - thank you for the hospitality!! Jacuzzi in our room had some dust / dirt coming out from the jets. Also there was a smell coming from the AC from time to time (noticed it more in the mornings).

Everything we needed was provided. We had a direct view of the pyramids right from our window, breakfast was delicious, and enjoying it with the pyramid view was such a treat. The receptionist who speaks Chinese was helpful and friendly, if you want to avoid unpleasant surprises in Egypt, this is the one place I would truly recommend. No handheld showerhead only overhead shower

• Ma (9/5): Superb - I highly recommend the car charter service provided by this hostel — it was the best private car experience we had during our trip to Egypt! The car was brand new, had air conditioning, and was spacious and comfortable. There were three of us riding in a 7-seater, which felt incredibly roomy. The daily charter rate was only $50, which we found to be very reasonable. The only downside was that the hostel staff guaranteed the driver could speak English, but in reality, he couldn't speak English at all, which caused some communication issues. There is no clear sign at the entrance of the hostel, and it took us 30 minutes to find the place. We recommend that future guests contact the hostel staff in advance to ask for directions, so you don’t waste time like we did trying to find the entrance.

Hot water is a bit limited, needs to keep an eye on the hot water volume, and wait for 20-30 minutes if it’s not enough.

It was clean and the staff was very attentive. Also, the breakfast was very nice and the rooftop terrace was the perfect view of the pyramids across the street. My stay was comfortable. Nothing- please note, you can sometimes hear noise from outside from your room, but that’s expected staying in the city.

And the breakfast is diverse and all food and drinks are free, as you can see in the picture. Not noisy during the night so you can enjoy a good sleep. Very nice staff and you can leave your luggage for them to take care of. They’re very responsible:) Though you may feel the outside is a bit shabby, the inside is very clean. I love their decoration and smell! Not enough hot water for showering. If you come with your friends, it’s better to wait for 10 minutes after they take a shower.

The most amazing thing about Dou Dou is the impeccable views of the great Giza pyramids. The views can’t be beat from the rooms we were in and at the breakfast patio. For the price we paid, it is great value and we will stay here again. It is clean, spacious, and has a homey vibe. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. It was a little hard to find the hotel’s location without a sign below.

As others have mentioned, since the hotel is on the top floor of the building, it can be difficult for taxi/uber/tour drivers to find; I booked an airport transfer through the hotel and provided my tour guide with the GPS coordinates and address of the hotel, which helped. There aren’t any good restaurants nearby (unless you want to brave crossing the big 5 lane street to the Mena House), so you do have to take an Uber elsewhere for dinner

• Marc (10/5): A Welcoming Oasis for Visitors to Cairo - As a first-time visitor to Cairo for a business trip, I was initially apprehensive about navigating a new city and finding a comfortable place to stay. Thankfully, DouDou Pyramids View Hotel proved to be the perfect oasis, providing a welcoming and relaxing environment that exceeded all my expectations. The hotel's prime location directly in front of the pyramids was not only a visual treat but also surprisingly convenient for my work commitments. While the breathtaking views served as a constant source of inspiration, the hotel's proximity to key tourism districts and transportation hubs made it easy for me to attend my work's comminments and explore the city during my downtime. The hotel's cleanliness was evident from the moment I stepped into the lobby. My huge room, the 108, and common areas were spotless, creating a sense of comfort and tranquillity that was much appreciated after a long day of work. The bed pillows and mattress were clean, big and confy. The staff, especially Osama, Miss Shu, and Mohamed, were the epitome of Egyptian hospitality. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made me feel like a valued guest, not just another business traveller. They went out of their way to assist me with everything from restaurant recommendations to arranging transportation, always with a smile. Despite my busy schedule, I was determined to experience some of Cairo's rich history and culture. The hotel's tour services proved to be invaluable in this regard. The knowledgeable guides and professional drivers made it possible for me to visit the pyramids and other iconic landmarks without sacrificing my work time. The tours were well-organized, informative, and surprisingly flexible, accommodating my limited time and specific interests. After a day of meetings and sightseeing, returning to the hotel felt like coming home. The terrace, with its panoramic views of the pyramids, became my sanctuary. I could not dislike anything about my stay. There was a constant whiling to offer the best service and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

The key point is that we have to wait for a long time. At first, the counter staff said that because of Ramadan, the food will be ready in about an hour, but we ended up waiting for nearly 1.5 hours. The food was also quite disappointing.
