Guest Reviews
- Victoria (8/5): - Beautiful setting and excellent location
- James Michelle (9/5): - Very relaxing quiet and well appointed Nothing

- Vincent (10/5): Fantastic weekend getaway location - Returning back to the chalets was as expected! Things have been updated a little and are just as comfortable and pleasant as our last stay. A lovely place to explore the area and spend a long weekend. The 'speed bumps' on the dirt road leading up to the chalets might be a little high for low clearance cars!
- Phuong (9/5): - We had a great stay and would definitely come back. The host was friendly and responded quickly. The place was clean and well-equipped, with plenty of racks for hanging towels and clothes. It had all the essentials (cookware, coffee, tea, oil, salt and pepper) plus a heater and a fireplace, which made it cozy during the cold weather. Despite being close to other chalets, it was peaceful and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and warm, and there were plenty of towels provided, along with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There were quite a few small bugs around the curtain area, which is understandable given the bushland surroundings. It wasn’t a big issue for us though, as the accommodation provided insect repellent spray that worked well.
- Aine (10/5): Perfect countryside getaway with everything nearby! - The most relaxed and secluded little chalet amongst the trees! We loved our stay so much. The chalet was packed with everything you need and more for cooking/baking - dishes/pots & utensils, cling film/foil/baking paper, basic condiments, French press, slow cooker. There is a stove, a heater, a heated towel rail, an electric stove for the bedroom & heated blankets so you could never go cold! They provided loads of books, games & jigsaws. We did lots of hiking on our stay in Porongurup NP & Stirling Range NP and this was the perfect location to chill out afterwards. We also went to the nearby distillery and it was so good, lots of wineries nearby and a tavern less than 10 mins walk from the chalet. It literally has everything for the perfect countryside getaway ☺️ Don’t have any negatives, we were really impressed! One small thing, the back window at the kitchen sink would be better with a blind on it so we could close it at night time!
- Hayden (10/5): - Excellent chalet, well appointed, in an excellent location if you are exploring the Porongurups, Stirling Ranges, and surrounds. Close to Mt Barker and Albany.
Would 100% stay again!
- Natalie (9/5): We had a wonderful time hiking in the Porungerups and Strirling National Park. - Excellent location, very cosy with wonderfully working wood stove (so we could turn off the gas heater providing instant heat), all very clean and well appointed, quiet, amongst the trees. I don´t have Telstra which works there, so I think the Wifi was too weak for my phone and laptop to connect and watch the ABC or SBS news.
- Rachael (9/5): A comfy and cosy get away in a beautiful location - The stunning location, the gorgeous chalet, good shower, comfy bed and great communication from host.
- Meesha (9/5): Cosy and comfortable forest stay - Iris at the Porongurup Chalets was cosy, comfortable and clean. Loved the wood pot belly for having a fire and a heater as back up that warmed the chalet super well. Electric blankets were a thoughtful touch and bathroom and kitchen was well stocked. We had everything we needed. Due to the A-frame style of the chalet, the stairs to upstairs were very steep and narrow. Not a problem for able bodied people but could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Other than that we loved everything!
- Keryn (9/5): Superb -
- Kylie (8/5): Very good -
- Tarsh (10/5): Relaxing stay. Great place to unwind, enjoy the sounds of the forrest and experience great hikes -
- Nogol (7/5): Cosy and cute! - Trish and her husband are super friendly and lovely host. Very easy to contact them if you need anything. They let us to charge our car and that was super nice of them. The chalets are super cute and cosy! They have provided everything you might need in the kitchen which was very comfortable to make it home. Netflix and games available too.
The chalets are not extremely seal proof. We had a big black lizard and bugs in the accommodation. The beds are small. There is only fan available if it's warm. Nice for winter times but definitely not recommended in summer.
- Simini (10/5): Exceptional - Ambience is noteworthy!
Detaling and provision is just perfect for a holiday home.
- Cecile (10/5): Lovely chalet with everything we needed and Trish was a great host! - The chalet’s location was great, and was really clean with everything we needed for our weekend stay. Trish was a great host and provided us with lots of helpful info about the local area too! Would definitely stay here again we loved it.
- David (10/5): porongurups - excellent location
staff were friendly and helpful 🙂
- Leni (10/5): A wonderful stay in Iris. The perfect home away from home. - We had a wonderful stay at Iris at Porongurup Chalets. We used the property as a base for adventures around the Stirling Range National Park and Porongurup National Park. It was perfectly situated and felt like our home away from home. All of the amenities we needed/wanted were provided, including clean/soft towels and sheets, kitchen utensils, a microwave, oven and stove. Lovely hot water for showers and a beautiful wood fire with cut wood at our doorstep.
- Amy (10/5): We loved our stay and are really looking forward to next time - thank you so much! - Loved the setting and the tranquility of the property. The chalet had everything we needed and more. It was truly cozy and clean. Next time we will be prepared to fill the slow cooker before we head out for a day hike, to come back to a delicious dinner. Any questions we had were answered promptly and we found the owners to be friendly and very helpful. We had beautiful weather for our Bluff Knoll climb, but if it had been raining, I would have been quite happy to curl up in front of the fire with one of the many books on offer in the chalet. Yes, the stairs to the bedrooms were steep and narrow, but we were prepared for that. The double bed was a little small for two people who are used to a king size and tall people may find their feet hanging over the edge, but the mattress was comfortable and the linen spotlessly clean. I'd imagine it would be difficult to get a larger bed upstairs.
- Vanessa (9/5): Home amongst the gum trees - It was like a home away from home all you have to do is do the shopping and take it home. It’s in the forest and felt like we were in a tree house.
- Joanna (10/5): Relaxing cosy place in the Porongurup forest - We loved everything about these chalets, so many wonderful little touches to the place and very relaxing and peaceful.
- Angela (5/5): Passable -
- Troy (9/5): Beautiful chalets secluded in a forest setting, host supplied a lot of information prior to arrival - Lovely secluded area. wood fire, heaters and electric blankets to keep you warm. Stairs are very steep, nearly stacked it walking down at night in my socks..
- Connie (8/5): We have a lovely family getaway. Will visit this area again and stay here again - Cosy and cute. Loved the fairy lights everywhere outside. Wood fire with supplied wood, kindling and fire lighters. Amenities were great. We used the slow cooker and the pots and pans were nice to cook in. Supplied everything you needed such an oil, coffee, tea, shampoo, condiments and milk.
Loved the healthy indoor plants.
Location was fabulous, we did the granite skywalk in the first day. The second day we went to the Stirling Ranges and climbed bluff knoll. And the third day we did the tree in the rock on the way home. The two cottages by the road on the way in I think must be privately owned and are a bit of an eyesore. They are very messy outside and look very rundown. We were worried that’s where we were staying when we drove past, but once you pull in the driveway and turn right we were relived to see cute and well presented A frame chalets.
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Pavel (10/5): Exceptional -
