- Lisa (10/5): - Tolle Sicht vom Balkon. Sehr sauber, tägliche Reinigung. Erick ist super nett, hilfsbereit, geht auf individuelle Fragen und Anliegen ein.
Es war ein besonderer Ort geprägt mit tollen menschlichen wie tierischen Begegnungen!

- Matteo (10/5): - Cabins have fantastic seaview and they are close to everything in the village. We did a 2 day trip to Corcovado National Park with them and it was amazing.
- Ella (9/5): -
- Susanne (8/5): Very convenient and great view! - Beautiful view! Electricity went off , like everywhere , but we didn’t know, so no light and no information and no answer
- Pam (10/5): 2 Night Stay - The view was wonderful and we spent time sitting on the deck and in the hammock. We loved the dog (Baloo) and the location was great for walking to restaurants, the store, the hiking trail, and our Cano snorkeling tour, also with Pacheco.
- Megan (9/5): Great home base for visiting drake bay or Corcovado national park. - Great location overlooking the ocean. Easy to get to from the boat drop off and a quick walk into town.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (7/5): Good - Great location, close to restaurants and tour meeting point. Great view from the balcony. The staff was very friendly. There was no blanket, only sheets. The room is rustic and basic.
- Elaine (9/5): Second time here, and will stay here again - This is my second time staying here- last time was about 5 years ago. I drove with a rented car to Drake Bay- taking the small car ferry from Sierpe to Drake Bay- an amazing drive to be done with a 4 wheel drive high clearance vehicle, dirt roads, some areas paved, through the jungle. Drake Bay is not the destination for me- it is Sirena Station in Corcovado National Park. Being in Drake Bay eliminates the long boat ride from Sierpe. This place that I stayed is my favorite in Drake Bay because the view from the cabin is Drake Bay itself, you can see scarlet Macaws flying by and various other birds. The woman at the front desk allowed us to leave our suitcase in the office while we were gone for 2 nights staying at Sirena Station- and we kept our rental car parked on the street out front for the 2 nights- there is not off street parking- but everything was fine. This place also has tours that they run and offer. The meeting place for our boat to Sirena was down the hill- a short walk to the main beach, where all the boats come in in the morning to take everyone to Sirena. It is convenient, once the car was parked, we walked to dinner, and down the hill to the boat. Easy, great view, and you cannot beat the price for what you are getting, and storage of suitcases. My favorite Drake Bay place to stay. No complaints
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (6/5): Basic accommodation at Drake Bay (fine for 1 night) - The amenities are very basic, but the view from the balcony was fantastic - you can look straight out at sea.
The staff were friendly and let us store our luggage during our visit to Corcovado national park, and freshen up when we got back. The hotel has no catering options. There is a food truck open in the early morning that serves breakfast, and some restaurants nearby (10 minute walking distance).
The hotel was very difficult to find. It is marked on Google maps, but we could not see any sign posting. In the end the receptionist came out to find us!
The only available parking is over a ditch on the side of the road, so you need a 4x4 if driving there.
- Rosalind (7/5): Good - Location was great, clean, helpful staff, AC and an amazing view Shower attached with hanging electrical wires which didn't seem safe, and only cold water. Gaps between the top and bottom of the main door so insects/mosquitos could easily come in.
- Erin (10/5): Beautiful stay in a exotic and rural location - The location was perfect and the cabins themselves were great. They had a beautiful ocean view, were very clean and all amenities were as described. It was walking distance to restaurants, the beach and trails. The staff was very helpful and communicative. Would recommend. There was nothing I did not like about this place.
- Emma (9/5): Good location for tours and boats - Great view from room and very convenient stay after Corcovado tour. Just round the corner for boats to Sierpe. Great value for money.
- Sok (7/5): Good -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Great budget place - This is a great budget place with beautiful views. It is very central but still quiet, except for the air conditioner which we found quite loud. It was nice and clean and has daily housekeeping which was a treat.
- Osmond (10/5): Lovely location and helpful staff with good value for money. Tours close by as well as the beach, restaurants and super - Eat beach and shops and eating establishments Toilet but this is normal due to location have to put toilet paper in bin for environmental purposes.
- Steinhoff (9/5): Superb -
- Spano (9/5): I have to thank the owner Eric. He is a great guy and he helped me when I had a flat tire. I could never thank him enoug - The property was in an excellent location.
- Dave (10/5): The hotel met all expectations and the tour with Eric’s brother was fabulous. - Location was excellent, there was no breakfast which was ok as the tour started early. Pleased with everything.
- Janice (9/5): Pachecho Cabins were a real find! - Location was fantastic... right in Drake Bay and fantastic view of the pacific. Great tours offered - the Floating Tour was AMAZING. This place is a gem and very reasonably priced.
- Rana (10/5): Exceptional - Adequate accommodation with amazing seaview. Very close to Drake Bay. Erik is very helpful and arranged our Corcovado excursion. The food cart next door sells delicious breakfast and coffee.
- Rana (10/5): Accommodation with georgous seaview - Good basic accommodation , the sea view is absolutely super.
- Corentin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antonina (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome ocean view
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Room was super clean with a beautiful view. Excellent value!
- Sean (9/5): Superb - The location and porch/hammock set this apart from other properties in the area. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay and before. Room was cleaned every day which was very welcome, and bed was comfy. The room had basic amenities but the price reflects that. It was perfect for us and what we needed but might not suit everyone.
- Rachel (9/5): Amazing location, helpful staff, great views and great air con. - Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, property looked after your luggage when you check out if you’re spending nights in Corcovado. Amazing view from the balcony of Drakes Bay and beach. Walking to your meeting point 200m away for all boat transfers to Corcovado and short walk to restaurant and supermarkets. Toucans and beautiful birds everywhere! Air con was great. Basic room but was perfect for what we needed.
- Julia (6/5): Drake Bay is a good location for the national park, restaurants and food stores. - Location was good, property had a balcony that overlooked the sea. Host was good. The property is very basic and needs improving. Nowhere to dry wet clothing.
- Elissa (10/5): We would definitely stay here again. - The pictures are very accurate of the property. It was a great location for what we needed, and the staff was amazing! We also did the tour to hike to a waterfall and float down the river and it was our favorite tour of the trip. Carlos was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun for everyone. Nothing
- Rolangi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keebaugh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petr (10/5): Exceptional - Exactly as advertised. Very good location Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Viveka (9/5): Loved Drake Bay, and Pacheco Cabins was a great base for exploring it. - We had a great stay at Pacheco Cabins! When you book this cabin, you get not only a place to stay in wonderful Drake Bay, but a welcoming and knowledgeable host in Erick, who also arranged several tours for us, met us on arrival and answered all of our questions over the course of the week. In the front of the cabin, you exit through Erick's office onto the main street of town (an easy going and friendly little place), convenient for restaurants, shops, and a short walk to the nearest beach. From the back porch of the cabin, you would never know you are in a town, with a peaceful view over the bay, a fun place to relax, watch the birds and lizards, and watch the local kids playing soccer. The room itself is spacious and comfortable. Warmer showers and a screen door, maybe? But really, this place is excellent value for the money and we were delighted with it.
- Marie (9/5): Nice hotel and tour - We stayed one night at the hotel and booked an overnight tour in the Corcovado national park the next day with Pacheco Tours. The organisation of both was very smooth, our host Erick also reserved our boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay. The hotel is near the beach and therefore easily reachable, and the room was clean, had an amazing view and AC. Erick also helped us in booking the overnight tour with our guide Breyner. The overnight tour was an amazing experience. Breyner walked all the trails of the national park with us, where we could see many animals, and Breyner explained a lot about them. There are some rules that need to be respected when entering the national park, e.g. that no plastic bottles are allowed. It would be helpful to have this information a few days in advance.
- Nicola (8/5): Great experience and loads of fun in the middle of nature! - Great location and view! Service was great and all amenities near by. Highly recommend booking the floating tour that is offered. The shower could be improved.
- Brown (10/5): I recommend this for anyone looking for a beautiful and private stay for a good price! - The view from the cabin was beautiful! The room was clean and private, the shower was warm, and we felt very warmly welcomed the entire time. The property owner even helped coordinate our boat ride back without us having to ask. There is nothing about this property that we disliked
- Mj (10/5): Lovely location and helpful and friendly owners - You couldn’t help but sit and enjoy the view from the verandah and the staff were friendly, helpful and easy going.
- Chiara (10/5): Perfect Stay for Corcovado Tours with Stunning Sea Views - We booked a tour to Corcovado, and the staff were extremely nice, allowing us to leave our car there for 3 days. The meeting point for the tour was conveniently located right next to the accommodation.
Our room was sea-front, and the view was simply amazing. At night, you can hear the soothing sound of the ocean, which made the experience even more special. They were also kind enough to store our luggage while we were on our 3-day, 2-night trip to La Sirena. The room was very clean with a/c—exactly what you need for a comfortable stay, with a top-notch view.
We stayed here the night before our adventure, and there's a lovely spot next door that serves a must-try 5 a.m. breakfast! Highly recommended! This is the perfect place to stay for tours from Bahía Drake! Nothing
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice cabin, clean, fantastic view from the private terrasse over the beach and ocean, wonderful location close to the port and beach, shops and restaurants just beside
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (9/5): Amazing view on the bay - Excellent panoramic view on the ocean
Close to the restaurants and beach Power shortage but not the fault of Pacheco (big storm), they refunded the nights, thank you!
- Raquel (8/5): Very good -
- Wolfgang (9/5): Lovely seaview with Scarlett Macaws flying by i - Lovely seaview with Scarlett Macaws flying by Perfect place
- Adam (8/5): Nice trips at Drake bay trail and corcovado - The beautifull view from the terras.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Eric was a great host. My sister and I had a blast in Drake Bay. The views from our room were incredible.
- Kevin (9/5): Great value spot above the bay - Great spot. Excellent price and an awesome view over the bay. Booked it last minute and was shocked by the value. No complaints.
- Martin (9/5): Relaxing, pleasant. - Aircon - it was very hot. Wildlife - iguanas, birds and basilisks came to visit. Proximity to the beach (the north beach is much the better of the two). Restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Nothing really.
- Carter (9/5): Great setup for a trip to the wild Osa - Unparalleled views in paradise, great staff, perfect location for tours, privacy The bed wasn’t so comfortable
- Maria (8/5): Great spot in Drake Bay - Great location with amazing sea views. A minute walk down to the beach, and a couple of minutes walking up to the shops. N/A
- Indre (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pauline (7/5): Good - Nice view on the beach and little balcony to enjoy it, great location, affordable
- Kateřina (10/5): Exceptional - View, clean room, arranging a trip, close to the beach
- Flora (10/5): Cabin with wonderful view to the ocean, close to nature - Beautiful view to paya colorada and the ocean, birds, iguanas, gekkos can be seen from the terrace. The owner was very friendly, met us upon arrival to the beach and took down our luggage on morning of our departure. We booked a horseriding tour which was wonderful, the rider guide was really kind and friendly, the whole way along and in the river and the waterfall was really something to remember, we saw a kajman on our way back. The horses were peaceful and well trained.
The sorrounding area is natural, blacksand beach, woodland, trials alongside secluded beaches, real hangingbridges, friendly beachdogs, roads are not yet concreted. Monkeys, agutis, scarlet macaws, vultures can be seen. Corcovado nationalpark boundaries are close.
Grocery store in front of the property.
Good streetfood options on the beach. The interiors of the room were not really tought through: the leather sofa isn't ideal in the heat and took up too much space. The size of the room would be too small for four people. The bed was on the ground and the gallerybed for two more people was elevated. Isntead of this setup, a normal double bed would have been nice, as the size of this room is the same as the other one for two people.
- Nomar (10/5): Excellent view! Great adventures in a pristine part of the world. Really worth experiencing. - The cabin was terrific and we knew from the time of booking and email communications that we were in good hands Erick booked us on the "ferry" and met us at the (wet) landing to drive us 1 block straight uphill to cabin. Very clean, good a/c beautiful view. We also arranged the Corcovado Sirena day tour and Caño Island snorkelling tour through Pacheco tours. Both were fabulous highly recommend (small deposit electronically, balance in cash when we were there. Erick is fluently bilingual and a wealth of information - he knew options for travelling back to San Jose by bus and booked the ferry and connected us to collectivo taxi who took us to where we could connect with intercity bus. Drake is a little hillside town base from which to explore the amazing Corcovado reserve and marine protected area through very reasonably priced tours -- but make sure to book ahead, because the reserves admit a limited number of tourists and there were several groups we encountered in Drake Bay who were scrambling for last minute places or disappointed. Nothing. We had everything we needed.
- Marion (7/5): Last night in Drake Bay by the sea - The amazing view of the sea, hammock on balcony , central to amenities The room I was in led right from the reception with no separate door so felt a little exposed. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no milk / coffee mate
- Catherine (10/5): Would stay here again in a heartbeat. - Clean, comfortable rooms. Great location close to the beach and to restaurants and stores. Amazing view. The host was very very helpful.
- Stella (9/5): Great base to do tours of the Osa and to relax afterwards - Balcony with amazing view of the sea and bird life
Comfortable bed
Good air con
Linked to Pacheco tours . Eric is very helpful in providing info and arranging
Close to shops and restaurants in Drake Bay Nothing to dislike . It’s basic but has everything you need and is spacious , comfortable and great value
- Frank (10/5): Perfect for a day trip to Drake Bay! - Simple room of just a bed and a bath but perfect for what we needed and the cost was aligned nicely. Plenty of outlets and lights, bathroom was nice. Not appointed like some US hotel rooms but amazing if you consider you are at the edge of the jungle! Couldn’t beat the view! Nothing really, it was very nice and the owner Eric was great.
- Dora (10/5): Exceptional - Better than we thought. Close to the ocean, the closest experience to nature so far. Erick is very helpful and his dog Banu is very cute.
- Karen (10/5): I wish I spent my whole trip there - Rooms are very clean and private, and the view is outstanding
- Anja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Highlight of Costa Rica - The location is great and the balcony is the best bit. The view from the balcony is incredible, and the hammock was so so comfy. The best way to relax. The cabin room was huge with so much space and the bed was comfy. Eric was so helpful with everything we needed - from sorting transport and the trips for us. The trips we booked through Eric was the national park tour and the snorkel trip. Both were the best parts of our visit to Costa Rica. We saw so much wildlife and our tour guides were incredible, especially the national park guide who was called Eric also. Absolutely incredible.
- Hannah (10/5): Host made stay spectacular with personal recommendations and tips & tricks. - Hospitality of host
- Edward (4/5): Beautiful views, the room was falling apart. - The view was exceptionally beautiful. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and nice. The shower only had one temperature, which was scalding hot. It was so hot I could not stand underneath it. The water would also cut in out and intermittently. There were wires hanging out in the open, and I’ve heard that type of shower is commonly referred to as a “suicide shower”. The room smelled quite musty, and the toilet seat fell off. The ceiling fan pull came apart in my hand, although I was luckily able to put it back together. The room did come with an AC, but for some reason I couldn’t get it dialed in and was either hot or cold the entire time. The bed only had a sheet, but that meant in the middle of the night when the AC had got the room down to cold, we woke up, and then when we turned the AC down we woke up sweating.
- Hannah (9/5): Lovely cabin relaxing stay - Beautiful view, cabin very clean and thought was given to providing everything we needed. Erick was helpful arranging tours and giving advice before we arrived. Good value for money, very centrally located. Would definitely recommend. A wonderful part of our Costa Rican holiday. Enjoyed lounging in the hammock on the balcony feeding bananas to the birds and hearing the crash of the waves on the beach. Definitely go on the floating tour that was an amazing highlight for us! You basically hike into the rainforest and then float down a river. The only drawback for us staying in cabin number 1 as honeymooners is that the door opens straight into the reception area so it wasn't ideal from a privacy point of view. Also nothing to do with this property but the boat from Sierpe was driven pretty dangerously on our way over with a young guy racing a heavily laden boat between some rocks in choppy seas. Coming from a professional boating family in the UK I wasn't impressed with the risks he took, but the ferry is not related to this company - just something to consider.
- Florian (7/5): Good -
- Ana (10/5): Great! - Great place! This is my third time staying there :) All was good!
- Nicole (9/5): Superb - The view is really amazing!!
Simple accommodation that is well located between the road down go the beach and the road up to the restaurants. But given how small Drake Bay is you are really fast in either direction. The pillows were not great - bit big/dense. But bed overall good.
- Carlos (9/5): Perfect gateway to explore the Corcovado national park - Wonderful location with a superb view over the bay
- Oier (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colleen (9/5): Always enjoyable and relaxing! This is my 5th stay there! - The view is fabulous, as is the price! It’s clean, conveniently located, has a dorm size frig and a/c
The owner is always helpful in setting up excursions, transportation to and from airport, etc It’s perfect for me!
- Amanda (10/5): A truly special and enchanting place to stay - This is one of the most special places myself and my friend have stayed in our lives and we have travelled extensively. Firstly Drake Bay is unspoilt and beautiful, Pacheco Cabins are chilled with the most stunning views and wildlife all around. Erick could not have been more helpful and is such a relaxed and nice person. The cabins were immaculately cleaned, we had all we needed, it was a short walk to lovely restaurants (stunned by the quality of food there) and Erick met and took us to the boat. There was a breakfast truck outside most days. Leaving there!! We will never forget it.
- Guillermo_rey (8/5): Very good -
- Leandro (9/5): Superb -
- Kyle (9/5): Excellent place to utilize as a base for exploring Corcovado. - Location was stunning
- Ildiko (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly host, marvellous location, gorgeous views. Excellent in every way.
- Ursula (8/5): Very good - The view is adorable, the host is very kind and answers every question immediately. He saw to it that we and our luggage were transported to and from the boat, and thus made travelling very comfortable.
- Meghan (10/5): Great location and a great value - The location couldn't have been better! I loved sitting out on the porch, watching the scarlet macaws and iguanas hang out in the trees right outside. The Corcovado tour we booked through Erick with Eric was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica! Overall Erick was a great host; I originally had to split my stay between rooms due to other bookings, but he let me stay in the same room so I didn't have to move my things. The AC in the room worked great and was a godsend after spending time outside in the heat and humidity. I'd definitely stay here again, and recommend it to those traveling to Drake Bay.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Florence (9/5): Superb - Very nice view . Very good communication . Thank you !
- Bianca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (9/5): Superb - Excellent view of bay. Lots of visiting wildlife and the owner's dog. Plenty of gaps for mosquitos to get in sadly.
- Vgvs (10/5): Exceptional - Location, Location, Location!
We had a clear view of Drake Bay from our balcony.
Pacheco Cabins offered value beyond price.
Great A/C-heard from a couple that one location apparently had some rooms but not all rooms with AC.
Another moved to another place due to extreme heat and no breeze in their place.
Cute Hammock
A book to ponder with.
Good WIFI...
Eric took care of booking our Corcovado Trip with our Guide Steve and our stay in our cabin.
- Doina-andreea (10/5): best stay in Corcovado - the view is stunning, room was clean and equipped with everything needed. the host was kind and helpful, we also booked with them the tours at Corcovado and the experience was very good, well coordinated. the wild insects at night but this has nothing to do with the property. need to keep the door closed.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - The location is beautiful and Erik is a very friendly, knowledgeable host. He helped us join the snorkeling tour which was fantastic. The property is clean and well equipped with brilliant views of the sea.
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Sheona (9/5): Superb - Superb location, clean room, Erick was very helpful.
